EBMedia: Genevieve Nnaji Writes Open Letter To Buhari, Asking Him To End SARS Brutality (Photos)
Genevieve Nnaji has written an open letter to president Buhari, asking him to end the brutality meted out to Nigerian youths by SARS, IgbereTV reports.
The actress/producer began by narrating her niece's encounter in the hands of officials of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Genevieve stated that she's getting "weary and tired of being optimistic about change."
She called on Buhari to act and command his troops to "stand down".
This small letter is deeply rooted and talks about my concerns and worries as a Nigerian. But the question is, can Buhari be allowed to read it? The opportunists would sure not allow him read this provided we even have any president called Buhari again.
Coronavirus84: There is curse in the land of this country, Sincerely am once a victim of SARS harassment but nevertheless I can't totally support the dissolution of this SARS in the society rather for the federal government to Reform SARS. Armed robbers and the criminal Yahoo boys are the people sponsoring this #ENDSARS matter so they can be free in the society.
A typical Nigerian is a criminal. Criminality is a norm and a way of life is this country and is endeared by the so called political leaders of this zoo called Nigeria. No one holy pass my brother after all man must chop na and mind you "a hungry man is an angry man".
This man is suffering from idiocy. He was beaten black and blue in his own land and now he's heading for another man's land to fight same fight he fought and lost in his land
SegFault: he is just a foolish sycophant who rejoices at the crumbs of bread thrown to him from the table of his masters. Some people need something extremely horrible to happen to them before they open their stitched eyes.
When he contested and won on the platform of the clueless APC then he had papers but now that he contested and won on the platform of PDP, he does not have papers. Senseless people
Mr Professor must have taken marijuana to have spoken that. What then is the essence of Federalism system we're running? Without the constitutional system of federal character, is Osinbajo merited to be there? The man has surely been captured by the forces of Buhari.
Metrix147: The Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was on Saturday enraged in anger and disappointment over the refusal of the engine of his private jet to start, ABN TV learnt.
The former Governor of Abia state had stormed the private jet wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja where he was billed to jet out to Maiduguri, Borno state capital.
The visit according to our correspondent was connected to the wedding ceremony of the son of Kalu's bosom friend, Dr Lawan Bukari, a former registrar of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).
Dr Lawan according to reports was the Dean of Student Affairs of University of Maiduguri when Kalu was a student.
However, Kalu's flight became stalled after one of the engines of Kalu's jets stationed to ferry Kalu and his entourage refused to start.
Our correspondent learnt that on the Pilot's advice, the former governor and his team had to disembark from the aircraft.
Among Kalu's entourage were: Senator Abubakar Kyari, Dr Daniel Kanu, Alhaji Mustapha Habeeb, Hon. Usman Zannah, Hon. Ibrahim Bukar Mohd, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, Hon. Obinna Oriaku among others
Kalu was seen visibly angry as he left the airport unceremoniously to his convoy . Airport staff who usually benefits from Kalu's generosity were also seen wearing long faces.
It will be recalled that Borno State Capital hosts the University of Maiduguri which was attended by Kalu and President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan where they were both roommates.
The Chief Whip's first foray into the world of business also started in Maiduguri where he engaged in the manufacturing and supplying of furniture around the state.
Education in this country is indeed haram. You can imagine the number of years he spent in getting himself educated before he latter got job only to be owed salaries of the work he laboured over. If education had been jettisoned by him and better part of his years had been scheduled on learning a trade or apprenticeship, he would probably have been living fine now and the thought of taking his own life wouldn't have crossed his mind. Hell fire is surely the abode of all the political leaders and office holders in this country. Your blood will surely haunt them down. They will know no peace. Their families will pay dearly for your death. RIP to the dead
Ehiscotch: Nigerians can throw a fit and don't know how to react rationally.
Fashola just said the truth really but Nigerians take pride in being antagonistic and they love the Deja vu; I guess there is a thrill to it embedded in us.
Basic amenities like that are to be covered by the State Government. The FG can't be everywhere and they embark on projects that take years to accomplish: rails, roads, ports etc.
Nigeria has so much challenges that a government can achieve so little in eight years, especially with corruption so endemic and institutionalized.
Listen(sic), before you mention. You would keep moaning and groaning and wailing for eight years of Buhari and then the next government and then the next, until you realise the fundamental details of governance and hold them sensibly to it, devoid of emotions or sentiments or prejudice.
I feel a need to reemphasize. This is NOT about APC/ Buhari or what no. I am feeling the burning effects of the economic downturn but I am grateful to God for the ability to detach emotion for rationality.
He has not said anything reasonable sir. First and foremost, the unseriousness and insincerity of the present day government are a cog in the wheel of the state governments to perform optimally. That aside, what Nigerians are clamouring for goes beyond what Fashola was saying. The satanic hike in prices of fuel, electricity and food stuffs is the major pain and agony of Nigerians which this useless federal government intentionally brought upon us when ordinarily a reasonable government should begin to provide something palliative for Nigerians to cushion the effect of their lackadaisically invited Covid19 endemic. Before these people got to power, they already knew our problems and promised to take us off the wood in no distant time. They said they were going to equate dollar and naira, make our epileptic power stable, transform our economy and a host of other promises. Now that they can't do even one out of their countless promises, they have resolved to blame games to cover their inefficiencies. This government is simply a calamitous mistake for us and whoever that had hands in bringing it to power.
obembet: The Champions League draw at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, has concluded but the pick of fixtures has created much debate among fans.
Furious Manchester United have dubbed the draw as a ‘fix’ after their club found themselves in Group H alongside Paris Saint Germain and RB Leipzig.
Supporters feel United have been dealt an unfair hand as Premier League rivals Manchester City face Porto, Olympiakos and Marseille, while Jurgen Klopp’s men play Ajax, Atalanta and Midtyjlland.
United will be forced to overcome PSG in the competition once again, after providing a heroic victory over the Parisians in March 2019.
United lost 2-0 at home in the first leg but managed to create history in Paris by becoming the first side to go through after losing by a two goal margin at home in the first leg.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's will also have to beat overcome last season's semi-finalists RB Leipzig in order to progress through the competition.
Subsequently, United fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage, with one fan saying: one said: 'Cannot tell me this isn't a fix! F**k luck of the draw.'
While another added: 'Think they're taking all these award breaks while the presenters fiddle around and fix the easiest draw for Man City!'
United supporters have even dubbed Group H as the 'group of death', with many highlighting the task at hand for Solskjaer's men.
One fan Tweeted: 'My god We're facing last seasons semi finalist and finalist before we even reach the round of 16. Group of death'.
While another emphasised the importance of buying new players, Tweeting: 'PSG, United and Leipzig so far......Spend some bloody money Ed or we're having a nightmare October. We got Chelsea and Arsenal in between these fixtures'.
Fans haven't been the only ones taking to social media to discuss the result of the draw.
Former Manchester United player Rafael Da Silva - who now plays for Instanbul Basaksehir - took to Twitter to share his delight at facing the Red Devils.
He said: 'Back to where everything start dreams come true'.
While Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois shared a Twitter exchange, highlighting the fact they will face each other in Group B for the first time in 10 years as they line up for both Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
SmartProf: How many Boko haram fighters, bandits, killer herdsmen, gunmen etc, have the police arrested? We'll like to know the exact date when they'll be charged to court. It's stupidity to arrest people who are merely without violence expressing themselves but you rehabilitate those who have wrecked havoc and killed many. The template of justice in this country is messed up.
Even the few arrested have been released on the account of repentance and allowed to walk freely among the people whose family members were killed brutally by them. What a country!
I think APC has really gone mad. How can an opposition party be accused of such? Does the opposition party have the powers to militarize election? I think Akeredolu is smelling defeat already.
CastedAyo: Big Brother Naija 2020 star Erica Nlewedim on Thursday took her fashion sense a notch higher after posing in a chic suit to mark Independence Day, Igbere TV reports.
Since leaving the Big Brother house in controversial circumstances, Igbere TV gathered that Erica’s fans have raised more than $65,000 for her in a GoFundMe account.
Celebrity publisher Dele Momodu recently said no single person has unified Africa in recent times like Erica.
Wearing bra has become a thing of the past for our current day ladies
Jaguda paali! Why didn't she talk in the first stage of BBNAIJA when apparently Laycon was not sure of winning it? Now that "omo olomo" has made it, the gluttonous LovePeddler wants to have her own share.
Antoeni: Omoyele Sowore is Goimg on with Revolution_Now protest October 1st, in defiant violation of his bail conditions and no one is calling him to order including Falana -his lawyer. Hope PMB won't be painted a dictator etc, if he's re-arrested.
Is this writer truly a Nigerian? No, he or she must be alien to the plight of true Nigerians to have commented with no iota of knowledge. You should have gone to arrest him yourself before Buhari's attention is called to it.

Look at what this grade A idiot is saying to an elder state man because baba was saying the truth! Why is it that whenever Obasanjo talks about maladministration of Buhari what we hear as defence is he, Obasanjo tried to change constitution because of his third term agenda? Wouldn't it have been better he succeeded to avert these economic doom and hunger pandemic since the ascension of Buhari administration? Can he tell us just one dividend of democracy we as Nigerians have enjoyed from this government since all these years? This man must have been born at yaba apa osi
