jennyfar: They stated in the refusal letter that they had used an exchange rate of 249.95, there is no way it will be over 3,000,001.48, my fee is 13,200. I paid 8700 leaving 4500 to be showed. 4500 + 7200 is 11,700. I was sure I did this calculation with several conversion rates before applying. The day I printed the oanda rate it was even at 251.57 so 3,000,001.48 at 251.57 is still 11925.11. They used 249.95 as exchange rate for 4th sept which is the day I did my interview which is 12002.40, so how did my funds fall below the 11,700?@jennyfar The oanda currency converter keeps records of exchange rates of more than a year. Regardless of the 249.95 written on your letter, The exchange rate for september 4th was 257.07. Find attached the conversion of 11,700 for september 4 below. Lastly, do you mind taking a snapshot of your refusal notice and placing here on nairaland?

jennyfar: Guys it was a refus, they said I didn't have the required level of funds, that I had 3,000,001.48 which amounts to 11,670 at an exchange rate of 249.95, and dat I ought to have 11,700. 3,000,001.48 at an exchange rate of 249.95 is 12002.40, even if they had used 251 which I used, the money was still more than enough. There is room for review tho, maybe the blockhead that calculated it will realise his/her mistake cause I don't see myself paying over 80k again for this.Sorry to hear about your refusal @jennyfar/ Your best bet is to re-apply because a review might not be fruitful. If you applied on september 4th, you needed to have had at least N3,007,710.00 in your account. This amount is based on oanda's currency conversion rate for september 4th 2013. Hope you understand my point?

hasano5: Well, I know that it is applicable in my case because I applied using it before. Unfortunately, I was refused that timeAm not sure how it done but when I applied for my last tier 4, I printed the bank statement for 30 days and I got my tier 4. To be on the safe side, I suggest you print your statement from 23rd to 20th and make sure its got an opening and closing balance. |
Hello everyone, Please what is referred to as "late application"? I have read through the tier 4 policy guidance and couldn't find any time-frame or information regarding late application. As we know most uni's resume on the 16th and 23rd of september. |
hasano5: If I apply on 19, we have kind of a priority service ( In Bahrain) where you pay a particular amount and you will get a reply in 5 working days which is really good compared to many different countries. So I can expect to get a reply on 26th of September maximum. Latest date to start the course is on 30 September. The priority service you are talking about is not normally applicable to tier 4 visa applications. |
Hello people, which of the oanda conversions do ukba use? Naira to pounds or Pounds to naira? |
[quote author=hasano5]I am in a bit of a confusion about dates of my bank statement and my application. I am looking to apply on the 18th or 19th of September. However, the money held in my account will be for 28 days on 18th of September. So, I can't get the statement before that date. On the 18th, I can print the statement with the balance as at 18 September. However, should I still apply on 18 or should I get the statement on 18 and apply on 19 September?. Is it okay if my application date is on the same day as my closing balance date??. quote] Print your bank statement on the 19th then head to the embassy the same day |
