Benin city had street lights back in the 1500s - 1600s. so what your saying about Kimberly is false Benin city was the first one in Africa and Europe to have these metal street lamps. They put up metal poles with hooks. Then they attached a metal working which could be filled with palm oil and they set it on fire and that would light up the streets no concept was present in Europe u til the 1800s in Paris.

Jln115 this is what I meant although it isn’t technically piped it was way more advanced then the British, Portuguese, French empires at the time. It was the first kingdom to have metal street lamps, one of the first kingdoms to have water sent to eferything single house, long straight roads, very peaceful and there was barely any robbery, great walls. Actually they were imported from the Ottoman Empire, there was a trans Saharan trade business and they had proper trade routes where they traded gold, bronze, copper, iron etc, with each other Nigerian iron was found to be used in Malian artefacts. Kanem borno traded their guns with the southern empires of west Africa.

so these things were already existing and since there are words for them in indigenous languages it means Africans were already doing them...

There are multiple more examples generally based off of what European scholars said at the time west African societies and empires were more organized and built up then those in Europe in terms of poverty, peacefulness, riches etc. They were also a lot more equal to women then any other society in the world. Before europe came women were queens but European morals brought the downfall of African morals and belief systems.

some parts of togo, ghana, benin republic and SW nigeria would have been one nation but all this places have their own slave ports..

Africans in that era will have been able to swim, so they will have jumped off and swam away but since Africans were at war with the e:uropeans, Africans will have attacked the ships by swimming to it and sinking it from the bottom and also using African made guns...

Wow this actually does make a lot of sense, thank you for pitching this perspective I’ll do more research on it. I never believed that Africans would actually sell each other but all the evidence was there, seems Africans also had very good skills in terms of shipbuilding but this isn’t represented much in history.

It was a lot more peaceful and no it wasn’t as rampant there are documentation’s saying when london was the rape and murder capital of the world Benin city had basically no doors and people felt very safe there were no reports of robbery or murder it was a peaceful and cohesive society with no concept of poverty or servitude.

I don’t believe Africans were too dull, the Oyo empire, Kongo empire and Mali empire all had links to America they were active,t traded with the americas as far back as the 12th century, they got to the americas first what I’m challenging is the population of them. Also the slaves that came back to Africa didn’t come back to work the fields in Africa they came back as freedmen to Africa. You cannot deny the trans Atlantic slave trade they took over 20 million Africans from Africa and took them to the americas that cannot be denied do not put words in my mouth I have been researching African history for a few years now and I plan to study it additionally at university if time allows.

Slavery in Africa was different from slavery elsewhere slavery i Africa was based off of wars, punishments or if you were indebted in such a way that the king had to be called to attention and you would work under them until you were able to pay off the debt that was an igbo thing not a Nigerian or west African thing as a whole. Also the Nri empire which was a religious igbo empire which expanded through religion and no war, helped to free slaves any captured people who walked through the boundaries of nri were freed and were allowed to stay there.

Slavery started in northern Africa after the fall of Egypt around the 10th century, the entire northern and north eastern Africa fell into slavery and e:uropeans and the euro-arabs enslaved northern Africans and taught them i:slam.

it was after they enslaved northern Africans then 800 years later ( late 1700s, early 1800s or 18 century ) they used the descendants of those northern Africans who were now m:uslims to attack the southwards and that's when conflict started happening across Africa...

the people who were enslaved in the 15th century were African Americans and other Africans on the American continent...

No the people who’s ere enslaved in the 15th century were Africans taken to America not African Americans on the American continent there would be no African Americans unless the trans Atlantic slave trade happened stop trying to change history and just face the facts.
