Biafrans in nigeria can't pay their registration fed through paypal, the service is not even known in this country. |
@alj haram, what are u upto now? U have claimed nupe from niger state, yoruba from lagos, igbo from anambra, now it's biafran. Better don't derail this thread o cos i'm watching to see the response it will generate. |
Onitsha ppl are highly attached to their culture and most onitsha ppl that married abroad never returned home. Also most ppl that married foreigners experienced bitter divorces. Honestly his ppl have a valid point and the only way u can win this is by having a chat with him to know if he is really still interested and if he is, then enlist the help of ur parish priest preferable an igbo priest in canada. Believe it or not. They won't disown and disinherite him but they would treat him with disdain for the rest of his life and they have a point. When u divorce him tomorrow and take his kids, house and everything he had worked for, u wont be sounding so nice again. We are worlds apart so think well before u force him into his greatest mistake of his life. I have many relatives ruined by foreign wives like u and in all honesty, i don't trust u even a bit. Lest i forget, in igbo land when u marry, u remain married. Divorce is not an option.igbos have an almost zero divorce rate and they are proud of it |
@jamisco, so fulani and hausa herdsmen are attacking igbo villages in the plateau? Or boko haram have killed more igboes than their own ppl? Define man of god? The middle belt support for the core north during the biafran war is the seed of their problems today as well as the seed of the constant attacks on yorubas from the muslim north, plain and simple. Igbos are not rejoicing over it but just stating the obvious truth. I believe any northern christian that supported the nigerian side during the war laid the very foundation of their modern predicament. The christian middle belt was expected to be willing slaves to the muslim ruling class and by fighting against the igbos, they accepted that role. Therefore what is happening in the middle belt today is because the middle belt have started refusing to play that roles and their masters are hell bent on maintaining their hold on them. Honestly, Gowon should stop making silly statements like this, especially now that ojukwu is dead.what do he stand to gain from all this provocative statements? If he wants to tender an apology for the war, state creation, boundary adjustments etc, he should openly say so and fight to undo his wrongs. All his statements in recent times sounds like a man in regret and mental agony. Ojukwu would not issue such statements against any body especially dead ppl. The biafran players have told their story and wrote books that no body have come out to contest it's intellectual honesty. Why did he fail to tell his 42yrs after the war? Considering the recentness of Ojukwu death, the fact that Gowon did not attend his funeral prompting questions from visiting african heads of state and the charged political atmosphere in the country now, Gowon statement is in bad taste and should be condemned in it's entirety. |

There is heavy traffic hold up at asaba to onitsha due to the large no of easter holiday travellers. We have been held up at asaba for two hours now and yet to be on the bridge |
@yemmy-ma. Are u an economist? |
@afro. Unn offers joint m.sc/phd. Check back at ur former dept |
@tanimola, thanks for the wonderfull answer, i have taken time off to work while i polish my maths skills. I am currently reading engineering maths by ka stroud and it seems quite understandable. It's the first in a long list of maths, econometrics, mathematical economics and econ theory list of books that i would read before applying. I also want to get my masters in economics development because that is an area i'm more likely to get a supervisor. I am already narrowing down my research thesis choice to poverty studies based on work i have seen on the IDEAS/REPEC repository. My question now is, would this area of concentration affect me negatively if i decide later to switch over to mathematical economics/finance for my phd? Also what do u think about american vs german schools? I do have an above average java programming skills though i haven't programmed for over a yr now, i am confident that i can easily learn other languages like R and c/c++ on my own. I am also quite familiar with Eviews and i believe i can easily learn other statistical softwares on my own. Also what is ur view career wise concerning an economic development vs quantitative finance finance phd. Thanks as i anticipate ur answer. |
@tanimola22, nice work from u, ur really de bomb. Pls i graduated from a fed uni with a cgpa of 3.0 in economics and geography but my scores in my geo courses was generally poor due to poor maths skills. However my geo grades were above average. I intend to go for a masters in economics in nigeria before moving abroad for a phd in order to improve my chances. However i would really like u to educate me more on my possible career prospects with a phd in economics since u sound like an economist. Also do u think that geography is a dying field to pursue a postgraduate degree in? I'm asking this cos what i'm hearing on online forums about geography and gis is not too encouraging thanks a million in advance |
Like everything nigerian, nairaland will gradually fade away with the extreme tribalism of the owner and his mods, why are u deleting ppl comments, if it's igbo, none would be deleted. Infact, i'm protesting this injustice by keeping off nairaland for the mean time. Seun ur an i d i o t and all ur mod are worse than goats. U came from a tribe of dirty, cheating, lying and obese losers. Now delete that and ban me. Shame on u if u don't. |
@Logic, i get ur point but faking a consummable like beer is not going to be palatable to the onitsha residents. The man and his colleagues are free to launch their own beer brands and promote it , i believe their will make more money in the long run. Infact i know for sure that some boys in onitsha are now producing their own brands of beer and malt and it's selling though at a lower price |
@lacasa, clearly u don't live in the north that is why ur asking such a naive question. Here in the north, here in niger state, it's only fulani that engage in armed attacks and highway robbery, the police DCO in my local government who is a fulani man himself have to warn all youth coppers during their monthly clearance not to wear their uniforms while travelling along the local highway at night since the fulani normads will kill anybody on uniform during an armed robbery attack since their can't differentiate who is who. The man also used the strongest possible words to describe the brutality of this fulani normads. I believe the above attack was done by fulani and that is what ppl there believe too for them to say suspected fulani herdsmen. The ghanaian army have already concluded two operations called operation cow leg to flush fulani out of ghana, the few that returned again was recently attacked by the local youths killing 20 of them. The reason is very simple, the fulani are responsible for almost all highway robberies in ghana, they destroy ppl farms in a manner that shows intent and daily rape women including the pregnant ones in the presence of their husbands. I believe nigeria should sack the normadic fulani back to their countries, the nigerian fulani are known as gidan fulani and they are neither normads nor do they attack anybody. |
Your friend should approach the newspaper houses and make as much scandal from it as possible. He should also check back at customs instead of waiting for them to deliver it to his hospital. I totally support him for not giving bribe. This story should also motivate other nigerian professionals abroad to make a move to better nigeria no matter how little. |
Tivs, middle belt and yoruba's are suffering the consequences of supporting nigeria against biafra. Parts of enugu and anambra bordering kogi state should prepare for those fulani normads next. |
Enugu produces coal and limestone, ebonyi produces limestone. So does that mean that they will partake in the largesse? Besides the sum in question is rather small |

Seun, ur not doing a good job on this site, 90% of the threads are stale, pls hire some nairalanders as moderators to populate the forum with interesting posts. A little token to cover their internet subscribtions will do wonders, remember, competitors can easily catch in on the current dissatisfaction |
Lets all say that it's been agreed to protest, now what exactly are we protesting against? Jumbo allowances, the president awarding huge sums to himself? Cos he is the one causing all this trouble by first awarding all that huge amount to himself, lets protest but we must have our demands well written out first. Pls start posting demands online for consideration |
Hmm, most posters are unusually mature and non tribalistic today, i like the trend, lets continue like that. 9JA, GOOD PEOPLE, GREAT NATION. |
This same china we are all praising have been practising one child per couple for how many decades, we seriously need to reduce our growth rate cos i will feel more comfortable with less almajiri children around me. |
@sagamite, Mai gida na, sannu, yaya aiki? You must be a lecturer cos i don't see why somebody will support the teaching of subjects that have no bearing with real like application. We went to school to learn how to solve problems for ppl for them to pay us, if i want to expand my knowledge, i can easily buy textbooks to read it on my own. Lecturers wasting my time in school over maths that neither them nor me will ever apply is a great sin to humanity, i speak from my experience sir |
The NEEDS document published by the central bank claimed that graduate employment is 80% and rising not to add the shortage of qualified lecturers in existing universities and we are still opening new ones. 9ja i hail una o, we will all see how this bubble will end. |
Where is oduasolja to finish what he started? Tribal bigots. Nchara take it easy o though i do respect ur information searching skills. What about forming a think thank with me and other like minded fellows for our own advancement? |
Look at the hired goons talking about nigeria's disintegration. Do u think we will break up in peace? Ur asking for 30yrs of bloody civil war as was obtained in other countries that ur break up predicting cia put their dirty crooked fingers inside. Congo, sudan and angola are notable examples in africa. In case u don't know, the usa army have already finished war games on how to secure ur oil wells for themselves when they eventually engineer u to break up and start a civil war while the likes of okonjo will be in new work then flexing ur stolen trillions in saved subsidy. Who says that igbos wont feel the increase in fuel prices? Apart from anambra, the other igbo states are predominantly salaried workers earning the same amount as obtainable in other parts of the country, so if others are feeling it, u too would. Nigeria wont break up and u guys are all going to remain third class citizens for ur betrayal. Ndị mba ahuhu, ohi, ama na ịgba akwu na akwu na,Tufia kwa unu. |
Gej is the most divisive and tribalistic president in our history. He won the election on tribal sentiment, turned the protests into a tribal issue by making meaningless reference to the civil war and indirectly accusing the northern muslims in his government of being members of boko haram. Clearly in order to prevent a youth revolution organised through social media, he had paid goons to spread the message of tribalism and division on nairaland and other websites frequented by nigerian youths. How ever when the chips are down, the south east and south south(the old east) will be the ultimate losers. They have shot themselves in the leg this time, come 2015,them too will learn that rotational presidency does not exist in the nigerian constitution, meaning that every region have an equal chance then,we would vote out pdp with their igbo candidate and that would teach them a lesson on the results of betraying the nation. The east would remain third class citizens till the next 12yrs. Ụmụ anụ ọfịa nwuru anwụ na aga ije. A nation of fools. |
Labour is a big disgrace to the nigerian worker. GEJ is a big disgrace to the nigerian voter and the south east might say good bye to their dream of an igbo president come 2015 cos the rest of the country have seen that they are a nation of betrayers and losers. They should also kiss biafra a good bye cos it's not gonna happen with this betrayal. Ụmụ anụ ọfịa dagburu onwe fa na iberibe kpuo ya amamihe. They will always remain third class citizens. |
Vanguard newspaper just reported on their website that catholic priests are leading the protest in enugu despite the governors ban on public gatherings. Clearly labour and market leaders have been heavily bribed in the south east. It's a shame if the church and lawyers have to step in. My consolation is that as things get worse in this country, the easterners(igbo, efik, ijaw etc) will always pay the greatest prize. Shameless ppl |
