Okies Bro Buh how did he do it did he transfer in that same academic session or lost a session? Is there like a specific procedure or does one have to start the application prices again?

He told me he's starting all over again. so, I guess he's losing a session. However I think i've read on this thread before that someone transfered and didn't necessarily lose all his previously acquired academic credits. I don't know the procedure he took, I'm yet to leave naija, i'll ask him when I get there

I'm aware of the situation Dam12 is talking about, the guy was studying at the University of Greifswald in the east and decided to switch to the University of Cologne. Matter of fact, we're gonna be classmates Starting from WS2015/16. Same class, same school. I yeah, it's very possible to cross to another uni when u're in Germany.

@Eke, great one. Prayers Don too much for your matter for the witches to have a say in the matter. Now the captain is ready for take-off.

To all, PTA is still very possible as I got some from Stanbic bank at the rate of 225.24naira to 1€. At least two branches of the bank are able to do this (Idaho and Allen branches).

All they require is your passport, admission letter and flight booking itinerary. Of course you must have an account that with them as the deduction would be made from your account directly. The maximum amount to that can be collected is the equivalent of $4k so you all can collaborate since iI doubt anyone will be travelling with up to 4keuros.

Cheers

Pls anyone with Stanbic account in Ibadan should holla @ me. i would like to change some Euros, we can go to the bank together and change money together. Thanks

I can't remember the moniker of that guy that said his alien office requested an additional amount (8400) for his blocked account and he sent 360 on his previous balance of 8040 without any confirmation. The truth is that, he will not get one and will only wait in vain, for that to happen, he will need a supplementary form filled alongside the amount to be transfered. I hope he has requested for the new balance under the contact form.

Now to me, its been over 2 weeks I have been debited with the evdence of my Telex without a reply from the bank for confirmation, deadline no far self. The last time I mentioned it, I didn't get one single suggestion, the ones that commented were more interested in the fact that i could press a panic button which I found not so great, the other guy in same situation had given up already, (you wouldn't imagine how it feels).

I have sent email through the contact form, no reply
Replied the mail they used to send my contact details, no reply
Called my branch directly as predicted they wouldn't disclose info on the phone
Sent email to the embassy ....they said they can't help me.
A very dear friend mobilized some other friends too to check different DB branches around, only one came with a positive reply after standing his ground that he won't leave the bank and would rather die there if they don't give him positive response (true friend)..the bank said the amount remained 15 euros that if that is paid, the problem will be solved, that was on friday and it was paid, and an assurance was given that the confirmation will be sent on Tuesday, today na Wednesday, no reply yet.
I have been a bit calm, but I think this require more drastic actions, October is around the corner for me, for my friend, the trauma have not been easy.
If you reside in Germany or have been through something similar and you have suggestions, please contribute, I have exhausted and applied all my own knowledge on this.
Danke Schön!

So sorry Bro, You're You're good guy and u don't deserve all these. God will clear all the roadblocks on your path and and God's grace all will be sorted out in good time. Appeal to ur guy who paid in the 15 Euros to help u go back to the branch and tell them to forward the balance to your email address. God is with us brother.

Hello Fam,

I talked about sending parcels with TNT last week. I sent my DB form to Germany thru them last week thursday and it got delivered this morning. It cost only 7,380 to send. I sent it from one of their offices in Ibadan. its cheaper than DHL, UPS and Fedex and the package got delivered within the same time frame it takes the other courier services to deliver. Attached are pictures detailing how the delivery went from Origin to Destination.

Shalom.

*DISCLAIMER* : This is not an advert for TNT Courier services, I am neither an agent nor a staff of TNT couriers,As a matter of fact, i sent my transcript and other application documents to uni-assist and the other schools i applied to via DHL for 10k, but since i discovered something cheaper and equally as efficient, i felt the need to share with the house. This is my only experience so far with TNT, yours might turn out to be different, Whatever courier service you choose to use is at your own discretion. #Bless

it is better u go for reissue, so that you can use it for the duration of your program, Passports are usually expensive from abroad. from personal experience)the old passport will be stamped CANCELLED WITH NO PREJUDICE, as stated earlier the new passport will have a different number, make sure you go along will the two submit both when going for your visa.

Thanks a lot sir. I'll go to the immigration office on Monday to begin the process then

I am not sure about getting one before you leave Nigeria.

I do know you can get a new passport for around 100+ euros and it requires you going to the Nigerian embassy in Berlin.

Follow the link below for more information.

Thanks a lot boss.

Hello Acedboss,

You can get your passport reissued before you leave Nigeria but I really dont know if the old one will be collected from you. I was at the immigration office during the last week of August and met a woman whose passport was rejected at one of these embassies because it had less than six months validity. Another passport was issued for her but like i said, I wasn't sure if they collected the old one from her.

I did a reissue for my expired passport and was given both a new and the old passport back with different passport number. The passport number of the old one is somewhere on the data page of the new one.

If your school is not far from Berlin, you may wait till it expires.

You may also need to find out the number of validity months German embassy requires before they can stamp your passport with their visa.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Mostyg

Thanks a lot. I will probably go to the immigration office here in Ibadan next week to find out. i'm going to Cologne, which is actually a bit far from Berlin, so I think it's better I get a new one here before I leave, provided they don't collect the old one from me.

Thanks a lot sir.

Hello House,

I have a question, my intl. passport expires next year (2016), Hopefully by then I should be in Germany already. Is it possible for me to apply for and get another passport before leaving naija? if yes, what's the procedure? Thanks

Fees? Education in German universities is tution free, or what fees are you talking about? Are you planning to attend a private university? Cos i understand that private unis charge tution.

i was charged N225 to the euro, i wouldnt know the exact bank charges right now as it was my dad's account not mine that was debited. Will find out and edit my post later on. When sending the DB confirmation, did you just reply the email that was from the embassy or composed a new email? Thanks

Thanks, i just got a debit alert from UBA now. I paid my semester fee thru their branch @ Challenge in Ibadan. I was charged 227.5 to the Euro, and 5,388.86 in bank charges.

How much was the rate of Euros @ UBA and how much was the bank's charges in all? About the second part, i really dont know, i'll try to look for the post again and see if i can comprehend and reply appropriately.

jameseva:
Hello e-fam, so i have gotten a credit confirmation from DB. All my transaction happened under 72hours, I used the UBA head office in marina. Faster than i expected really as i only just submitted my form A on wednesday around 12noon.

My question is as regards to the earlier email from the embassy that indicated that i ''Please state reference in reply''. What does this mean, i am just about to send the copy of the confirmation to them. Is there a special thing that i should make reference to? i'm just being careful here.

Since it is stated that you dont need it, it's up to you to decide if you wanna write it or not. However, i would advice you to write it in order to boost your chances if there's competition for places. Also, you might want to apply to other schools/programs that might require you to provide proof of language proficiency, and the result will come in handy then. I would also advice you to look for more courses to apply to, dont put all your eggs in the University of Paedeborn basket, cast your net wide in order to boost your chances of getting admitted. Good luck!

Good Afternoon house...

I wish to study at the University of Padeborn. I want to confirm if i need to write IELTS? It states if that if i have a bachelors degree in english i dont need to, then again dont they ask for it at the embassy? Also with the current european situation is it wise to process a student visa to germany? please advice. Thanks

Hello House,

For all those who wanna fund their blocked account and get PTA, I think Fidelity bank's rates are quite low compared to other banks. I was @ a fidelity bank branch today and the rate was 223.6 while @ UBA I was told 235.8. I was also told that if I wanna change euros for PTA, they could change it for me, I don't know about other branches tho, but the branch Fidelity Bank @ Challenge in Ibadan told me that they would, provided i've been running the account for at least 6 months, while UBA said they can't change PTA for me, that it's better I apply for one of their Debit cards.

Shalom!

As per courier services, I went to a TNT office to make enquiries about their fees for sending documents to Germany and how long delivery takes. they charge less than 8k and they assured me that the documents will get to Germany in 3 working days. So I believe that's an option people who wanna send documents to Germany and other destinations outside Nigeria can consider.

Meanwhile I wanna send another set of blocked account opening forms to DB tomorrow via TNT, anyone in Ibadan who wants to send blocked account forms to DB can holla and we'll send the forms as one package and split the bill.

Hmmmm.... so nobody is going to Cologne ba?? Hian! Na so so Team Bremen, Team Kiel and the numerous Bavarians in different cities full here....There is God oooooo

That as far as they are concerned, there is no record of my name in their end. Which way forward abeg? our elders in the house @eke and all. Thanks

you know, these things can be heavy, and some airlines charge as much as $60 per excess kilo. So I think the math is worth solving shaa, to find the cheaper method.

One could send it to someone in ur city already via NIPOST along with footstuffs to avoid excess luggage charges.
