Afam4eva: Yes, the thread was meant to foster unity but there's no law that says everyone must agree with the OP. Despite the fact that the post in question , was in bad taste, it was the personal opinion of the poster. if we are to hide his post citing derailment then a lot other post will also be hidden because half os the posters on the thread were averse to the OP's assertion. And about tribalizing the thread, he didn't insult any tribe or derail a non-tribal thread with tribal tantrums. He did that on another post on that thread and i banned him for but not for this particular post. maybe another MOD would have read his post differently but i didn't see a good reason why i should hide the comment.Going by your assertion as I highlighted, no comment should be hidden here because it's someone's opinion. But the rule must be applied. I wonder what this forum will look like if everyone goes about expressing personal opinion without instrument of sanction designed to bring about decorum. Afam, I know that you are afraid of taking decision that will put you in conflict with OAM4J cos he has succeeded in intimidating you guys. That's why you want another mod to confirm what is obvious. A comment you described as bad taste. Can't you just grow balls and do your job? |
Afam4eva: The topic is about the various components that make up Nigeria which includes tribes. If it had nothing to do with that, it would have been a different case.Sorry, I can't exactly figure out what you are driving at. All the same, the question should be, 1. Did he derail the thread? YES 2. Did he tribalize the thread? YES Remember that the thread was meant to foster unity among Nigerians, yet Payless decided to tear into other ethnicities on that thread. Is that not a bannable offence? |
spark@wil: |
OAM4J and Afam, there are 3 components of the 1st rule of this forum. They are, 1. Please don't post on topic always 2. Don't derail 3. Or tribalize threads On this ground, I demand that you remove the comment by Payless which is in conflict with the spirit of the said thread. Then proceed to ban him for violating the 2nd and 3rd component of the 1st rule. The thread is, "Let's learn to love and trust each other as a nation". I can't post his comment cos I'm browsing with my phone |
Afam4eva: Let's continue in the complaints section. Thanks.ok |
Afam4eva: I agree, the comment is in bad taste but it's not against the rules. People should be allowed to express themselves as long as they're not insulting anyone. You don't even know the rules of this forum, even though you are a mod of the most important and controversial section on this forum. What does RULE 1 say? |
payless: The problem is that; there is a particular ethnic group that hates everybody in Nigeria. They have refused to move on from what happened decades ago. They like to point fingers at everyone else for their problems. They want to secede and want the Presidency of Nigeria at the same time. There are good people (Chime, Rochas, Ken Nnamani and few other) among them but they won't support them. There is also an ethnic group who believe they are born to rule Nigeria. There is a section of them who think Islam is paramount to Nigerian constitution.I'm wondering why mod OAM4J left this comment to derail this wonderful thread. This comment is in conflict with the spirit of this thread. The comment is filled with ethnic baits. Don't punish posters from other ethnicities if they decides to respond in kind. |
Iran practices pseudo-democracy where the guardian council which is the body whose members were handpicked by the unelected supreme leader selects those that are to run for the president. Don't be fooled, Iran's policy towards Israel continues and their weapons program will only gather steam. Moderate candidate my foot. |
Desola: I reported this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1128526/aregbeshola-president-2015#16239364 to the mods, most importantly when sexkill, was on duty and still the two ibo moderators have turned blind eyes to this obvious violation if the rules and a clear "tribal slur".You are the same hypocrite that complained that Ikenna banned you retroactively few weeks ago. Your complaint was hidden by OAM4J, but these are the exchanges that followed it. Ikenna351: @ Desola, Desola: Okay, I didn't bother reading your bullsh1it but somehow upon scrolling up to the top of the page, I read a snippet of your threat that you would wield your illegal power if I should refer to you other than your name, ikena. Are you for real? Did you also say something about banning me for refering to you as an ibo man? Even after it has been made explicit here that no one would be banned for using a formal and accepted name that it is? OAM4J: lol OAM4J: The post is now hidden. Thanks for reporting.Mr mod, you are not professional at all. You decided to apply your rule retroactively. The same complaint made by Desola against Ikenna, of which you supported her few weeks back. Why are you like this? Well, you have some jobs to do now. Don't bring in your ambiguous interpretation of rules. Let fairplay be your watchword. Now treat these Desola's mess. Desola: We are in the same sty together lovey. I am in no mood for obscenities today and would not let you get off lightly. If you are fit to make a statement, then you should be sound enough to back it up. I know that your ploy has always been to hide behind insults and name calling to avoid dealing with the subject matter and you are too ill capacitated to handle any call out and that is when you get down to denigration but you have perpetrated this line for too long and you will not continue to get away with it.https://www.nairaland.com/1073166/civil-war-ve-no-cause#12536663 Desola: Aya e o ni da omo okoro oshi. kini kan to dabi nkan ti won fi n bo awon irunmole yi.https://www.nairaland.com/799934/why-ladies-shy-away-politics/8#9527394 |
Miscreants on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/1326172/why-southerners-hate-buhari-passion need to be thoroughly dealt with. A simply question that demands a robust debate has been turned to tribal slugfest. Mods clean it up and ban posters that used derogatory terms to address ethnic groups |

Ola Johnson: Where did you read that his son made this statement? You probably did not read the post but was carried away by the topic to get at the tribe's men of MKO Abiola. Read the post again, it was his younger brother that spoke, not his son.So typical of you. I expected you to bring to the fore your clannish tendency. You never disappoints. Any criticism of anyone from your tribe is a criticism of the entire tribe. Well, it does not matter if the person that spoke was his son or not. What matters is that he is a leader in Abiola family. |
This is appalling! Not fair to the memory of MKO Abiola. He must be extremely agitated in his grave. Can you imagine his family dinning with the person that put in motion the events that led to his death. Does Abiola family have any atom of shame? This is as low as they can get. This is very bad. So irritating to ear. Coming from one of the leaders of Abiola family shows the extent of this rot. Decency demands that they stay clear of Babangida and his agents. But, he praised his dad's tormentor-in-chief to the high heaven. I spit on the bad elements of Abiola family. |
Ola Johnson: F00l, who is the Hausa here? Is IBB not a Nupe (or Ogbomosho as some people claim)? The man, MKO's younger brother is just stating his position on the person of IBB, which should not be regarded as the position of the Abiola family because MKO had a nuclear family with children and wives that are still alive. If at all any person wants to speak for the Abiola, that person should be Kola Abiola, his sister that is an SA in Ogun State or one of MKO's widows.Must you give excuse all the time to justify every ridiculous position of your people? |

Haba Mr Seun and Alhaja Mukina! Must you descend this low to attract traffic? |
Na wa o. You wan take shine away from the Nigeria's June 12. Wetin concern us with the massacre of 150 civilians in Tamil Sri Lanka, when our own Murtala Muhammed massacred 3000 civilians at Asaba. |
How can you call this bedroom chaotic when it is far better than yours? |
mascot87: It's high time we forget our past and move forward,we have a lot to achieve in this country than trying to allow our past to be a setback to our development.Even in a family,if he husband or d wife continue to talk about the past mistakes of each other, then troubles would always arise. We need to move forward please. We need issues that can bring about national development.Nigeria will be great again cos God will restore all our lost glory. How can you move forward when you are yet to reconcile with your past? If you don't know your past, how can you predict your future? If you don't know nor learn from your history, it will repeat itself again. |

Katangora: Awon jobless people lele yi oooo, ssshhh. . .no reveal the secret. Terrorists no know say we don straf better babes for earth, come leave ugly chaffs 4 dem 4 hell. Abeg I no wan make dem transfer their aggression to we fine boys association. |
Damn! These girls are ugly. Wont exchange them with my cute, charming but loose princess. To hell with their virginity. |
emmatok: Even in your Biafra, what Will you do if some people don't have the capacity to compete with others. When I read comments like this one, I lose hope in Nigeria. Why can't people see beyond their nose and recognize that no country grows in an atmosphere where merit is punished? This is shameful. |
I feel the same way. To the best of my knowledge, my grandfathers were not consulted; neither do they sign any agreement agreeing to be incorporated into an entity called Nigeria. Britain succeeded in creating an epidemic of identity crisis among 160 million people of West Africa. This is totally unfair to us and our unborn children. |
