olatade: This corporation has become more of a revenue generating agency than a safety compliance organisation. Their mission is to book motorists only without necessarily stopping the offences. I think their whims and caprices in generating revenue to their office have explicitly defeated their purpose of existence. They are now a nausea on our roads, a danger every driver fears. There is no justification for their continued existence presently as portrayed. I beg to differ. I don't fear road safety officers when driving as I have the basics I need on the road. Road safety officers do alot for Nigerians , both the regulars and the special marshals. Your opinion is honestly not fair at all, there may be a few bad eggs, but generally I believe most Nigerians will give road safety Corps.a pass mark.
Rest in peace sir |

Politics › Re: Kids, Market Women Rock All Eyes On The Judiciary Polo by adabaraabdul: 1:49pm On Aug 22, 2023 |
Reference: No sir. The Judiciary is not above advocacy and citizen pressure. It is done everywhere democracy is practiced.
Courts in the west are often picketed during high profile and contentious rulings involving individuals, institutions and government over programs and policy disputes. You only need to constantly watch international news. It happens all the time.
I don't know how any of the arms of government can be held to account in office if not by advocacy and civil pressure.
May I ask you the mechanism by which the Judiciary is checked in a democratic set up and can you tell me if this mechanism presently works in the case of Nigeria.
Remember that a working Judiciary is for the benefit of all citizens no matter ones view on any issue. Because with time everyone will be affected by the quality of their service to the nation. This is a given.
Optimism as you say is not a guarantor of good governance. No where is the world do things work by citizens of a country just sitting and hoping. No be una dey talk say, 'power is not given...' Great! thank you. We await the outcome of the PET. |

The billboards and Tees are very unnecessary. Nigerians are watching the judiciary always and very optimistic that the right things will always be done. There's no need putting the judiciary under unnecessary pressure. I hope the same people sponsoring this campaign will be OK with whatever judgement reached. |

Brimstone77: ....
The north have soft spot on niger republic than fellow country men from the south.
Look how they are all running around to stop military intervention in niger, this same set of people were calling on buhari to declare state of emergency in south east because of ipob agitation..
If you Think that these sets of people will give a hoot if the coup happened in binin then you're deceiving your self..
So much for one nigeria!!!
No wonder buhari choosed someone from niger instead of fellow country man from the east.. I beg to disagree. The reason you see the Northern approach and peace seeking delegates is because the issue in Niger if not properly handled will affect the North adversely. Remember the Banditry and insurgency going on. There's a joint task force comprising Nigeria and Nigerien forces fighting off this issues. If Nigeria and Niger is at loggerhead, you can imagine that this insurgents will be having a field day. |

Politics › Re: Coup Plotters Deny Abdulsalami, Sultan Entry, ‘discussed’ At Airport by adabaraabdul: 11:49am On Aug 06, 2023 |
Throwback: Impose the sanctions fully and Niger will be crippled.
The illegitimate military dictatorship in Niger must be brought to its knees.
The President from the minority Arab tribe must be allowed to finish his 1st term and then "sacked" from office by denial of a 2nd term in a democratic election.
That is the constitution of Niger Republic.
Nigeria must stand its ground that no illegitimate or military rule will be further entertained in any West African state.
The majority Hausa that are rejoicing and their cousins in Nigeria who are also supporting, would not have done so if it was a minority Arab military leader that toppled the democratic regime of any of the past Hausa Presidents of Niger.
For the 1st time, the minority Niger Arab who are better known for street begging with their children in Nigerian cities, have managed to build a political coalition that allowed them get to national power, then suddenly the Hausa/Fulani/Djerma gang up to quickly push them out of power with the illegitimate military coup that we all know would later handover power back to a civilian government that is certainly going to be Hausa.
Is it that they cannot stomach being out of power for just 5yrs that a presidential term allows?
Or the Niger people only started suffering now that an Arab is in power for barely 2yrs, but did not suffer for the previous 20yrs of Hausa and Fulani rule? I have been opposed to a military intervention all along, but if this illegal government is not open to even abit of negotiation, I think military intervention should be pursued aggressively, quickly and decisively. If the present democratic government is bad, let the people of Niger vote them out when the term ends. |

Our labour unions don't really care about our needs these approaches you have written too are measures to stimulate the economy. What the labor is agitating for includes some moves too to make life easy for all of us. It is a complete package. My question is what are the short term gaps in place that the people can feel as palliatives. Government is too slow and they should fast track whatever package they have for Nigerians. The earlier the better. |

Your bigotry & hatred for Jonathan resulted in Buhari, You never learnt from your mistakes, Buhari’s 1st 4yrs was a total disaster, you still voted him for second tenure
Everyone was waiting for February 2023 to kick APC out, PDP had their best chance with Obi/Kwankwaso Candidacy, … but money politics brought in another Fulani man as presidential candidate, an insensitive decision by a pioneer party like PDP
Obi left and joined LP. and gathered a huge number of followers nationwide, suddenly the hatred & bigotry kicked in again and you fools went under the sun and voted for APC’s continuity..
On Election Day, lives were lost, a nursing mother was stabbed, innocent voters were attacked, property destroyed, ballot boxes stolen, NYSC staff aware intimidated ….Just so that this same party would remain in power..
I use to blame the government, but now I’ve realized that the problem of this country is the people. ……… how does this relate to FAAC? |

I don’t get how it’s so easy to make up these stories and just have people believing it without evidence.
The most sensible plot is that he or they both got high on something and when violence ensued, there was no restraint or inhibitions left to control his actions. I think we should wait for police report. But first let the guy be caught by the police, I dont trust his IG story that he will turn himself in, he should turn himself in already. |
