I know of "Chike"who was in the same situation. He sent his wife and kids to Ireland, lived in a gated VGC, hired a Sierra Leonan chef. Recession and bank consolidation came, he lost everything including his wife and family. |
Afam4eva: How can London be the financial capital of the world when it's not even the financial capital of Europe. Frankfurt has that title. I think you meant to say Commercial but even that title belongs to new York and deep down you're aware of that. @topic I think the best should be appointed devoid of tribal sentiments. London is the financial capital of the word. Ever heard of LIBOR? This index all interbank and lending rates in most major markets of the world. Baltic dry index: measure movement of demand and supply of goods and raw material by shipping vessels |
Steal money meant for public infrastructure, if something goes awry, call on God or better blame him. Only in Naija! |
mfm04622: If you are rating Sanusi, let us rate him with the job he is supposed to be doing at CBN. The inflation rate, managing the Naira and the economy. Inflation rate is now in single digit, the Naira is stable even with politicians demanding foreign currencies like there is no tomorrow. If you want to judge him, let us judge him by how well/poorly he did in specific areas.Naira is stable where? Dollar has appreciated over Naira since his no $€£ payout at Western Union locations. Inflation rate manageable? What was the price of satchet water, a bottle of coke, a cup of rice when he came in? Price of borrowing is still around 30%. |
because that's all they have to offer... Wonder what Kim Kardashin does that will make someone pay her $500K for a ten-minute show? |
Pain: Thank you. Dont mind all these "Nairaland Intellectuals" most of whom may only achieve a tenth of what SLS has achieved if they are ever lucky enough in their lifetime. Anyway, the "short bouts of delusions granduer" nairaland provides has helped to stabilise the number of potential destitutes and trolls we would have had physically on our streets. Thanks to Seun for his rather latent contribution to our social capital.I think you are missing the point here. You cannot lower the standard of hiring the CBN governor to minimum qualification of average Nigerian/NLer. It's the apex bank in Naija , and should attract folks with apex qualifications and accomplishments. We don't need ordinary folks running CBN! "I ain't no ordinary nigga .Look around, this aint what ordinary gets ya . Extraordinary figures . I'm a extra-ordinary nigga" Jay-Z |
36STATES: If any of you writing these things here had lost money in the stock market crash of 2008 you would have known that Soludo was a disaster. Solude is a big time crook and doesn't have the qualification and the uprightness to run a sensitive institution like CBN. Sanusi is the best thing that happened to the central bank ever. Though a lot of corruption is still going on there, but that is a discussion for another day. Soludo was 100% aware of all the thieving happening in the banks by people like Mrs Ibru of Oceanic, Erastus Akingbole of GTB etc. OBJ, Soludo and Ndi Onyiuke was real axis of evil for investors in Nigeria when they were heading there respenctive offices.Since SLS brought his expertise and Midas touch to bear, why haven't stocks risen like in other global markets? |
Ola one: I have always said this: Gordon Brown who was a Chancellor of the Exchequer in Britain didn't study Economics. He's widely respected in the same field because of his stellar performance in Britain.Gordon Brown knew how to calculate his numbers while SLS doesn't. |
nnamezie87: I think the outgoing fidelity bank MD Mr Reginald Ihejiahi, is the right man for this job. ....looking at his antecedents in fidelity bank and Nigerian economy as a whole......It would not be good appointing bank CEOs as CBN governors cos they see things from cost benefit point of view. They are charged to make profits at all costs. We need accomplished economist who can balance both monetary and fiscal challenges facing our CBN. Fidelity bank market cap is less $500mil while Naija economy is above $300bn. This was the mistake Yar'dua and co made by appointing SLS into a position with a 500% more responsibility and complexity. |
mad nigerian: Look at it this way.Textbooks economist! Manufacturing involves a lot factors like infrastructure i.e NEPA, road, water and security. Cost of borrowing in Naija hovers around 30% with collateralized credit. U have to consider absolute and comparative advantage when going into manufacturing as well. |
naijaking1: Mallam, sanu d'aiki!Yes bro I followed all ur argument against SLS. He's a disaster! He called for subsidy removal and then went ahead to tell us that never paid for petrol for fuel. He blamed the masses for demanding $€£ instead of Naira at Western Union locations; after he implemented Naira policy, dollar has appreciated over Naira by 11%. He's made banks and BDCs richer . They pay out to WU customers at N153/1$ while the same banks will ask you to go and buy $€£ from their BDC at N170/1$ with a N17 margin shared between BDC owners and the banks. Same guy who went for a chieftaincy title a coupe of days after his senior management staff had perished in a plane crash. Same guy who blamed his staff when he plagiarized another person's work. He got the numbers wrong when he accused NASS. He got the numbers wrong when with NNPC. SLS is a man whose ego is bigger than that of Donald Trump; makes reckless statements without thinking and adding it through; lacks empathy and talks like a typical Naija politician. |
Young03: 3 abortions 4him and he wants to marry another, sister poison him God will understandNo marriage promised. Nobody was engaged! 3 abortions were not done in consideration for marriage, but based on the fact that they were not ready..she wanted to get married to the guy by trapping him with pregnancies but the guy didn't. It takes 2 people to agree for marriage to take place, so u can't blame the guy if he never consented to marriage. |
I'm tired of this silly argument. Where does FG get the money?Let each control all their resources and pay taxed to FG. |
Raggedy_Ann: The $12b or $10.8b is "unremitted" not missing. During the audit and reconciliation process, Nigerians and Sanusi were taught that the funds were typically remitted in arrears ( so make that "yet-to-be-remitted). And if a $38b discrepancy could be reconciled, I'm sure Sanusi would, given time, agree that the new dIscrepancy of $1.2b springs once again from his inability to add bIg numbers. Someone should give him a calculator and let them do the math again- third time's the charm. This amount is unacccounted for since NNPC is disputing some of it! |
No nagging pleas! cos u ain't my momma! |
See how some women are talking of love as if it's something u can eat or cash at the bank.the guy in question neither promised marriage nor engaged her.. She was the only one who had her mind up on this marriage thing. She was desperate and wanted to use pregnancies to trap the guy. |
Oluwaseun Temmy: If i were you i will not try to abort the third pregnant, nd i will make sure that i m present on there wedding day, anytime pastor asked who doesn't want them to be joined together as one, then i will raise up my hand nd i will explain to them dat i m pregnant for him.You sound like a desperado who wants to trap a man with pregnancy. Selfishly protect urself. |
Toks2008: LWKMD! Chai! you are a comedian o. See conclusion. No be only guilt. I married her because i loved and still love her. I don't go about touching what i can't eat. Any lady i open my mouth to tell i love then it must be true.Keep basking in ignorance! U were callous and reckless to have s3xwithout protection a d then went to a quack doctor to carry out an abortion. You put ur lives at risk by having unprotected s3x and then subjected the girl to further risk by having her go for abortion at a quack clinic. Stop praising your stupidity and reckless lifestyle! |
So-brit:Thank you jare! I have been saying this all along, but folks are full of emotions to see that. The guy told her that he wasn't ready the first time, she got pregnant 2nd and third time. She wanted to trap the guy with pregrancy! As per all the NLers crucifying the guy, how many of u married the first person u had s3x with? |
theoctopus: You are permanently daft. Learn to read. Nothing is missing except Sanusi's brainsSanusi stated this yesterday in Abuja, during a joint briefing by the minister of finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of petroleum resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke and himself, at the Finance Headquarters. This is even as the minister of finance, Dr Okonjo-Iweala said the shortfall they are reconciling with the NNPC is $10.8bn and not $12bn, as claimed by Sanusi. She said that in the course of the reconciliation from January 2012 to July 2013, “we have looked at a shortfall of about N1.7trillion, the equivalent of $10.8bn. That is the amount that we have been discussing and of course NNPC has been disputing some of it.” - http://www.thenewsnest.com/sanusi-retracts-missing-oil-money-12bn-not-49-8bn/ |
temi4fash: Mehn,, dis is so scary i cant believe some of the comments m reading on this thread...You are the illogical person here! How is having unprotected sex a requirement for marriage? Did the guy promise her marriage? She was reckless as the man, but the man has not posted anything here. He's moved on with his life, so we have to criticize the OP. |
What if she had contracted HIV by having unprotected s3x? Why do most women seem to throw everything down the toilet whenever they are hustling for marriage? |
selena: I am so sorry..I really feel your pain..Don't worry, killing him is not a solution and also committing suicide is also not a solution...I hope you have learnt from your mistakes..All you can do is ask God for forgives of sins for killing innocent babies..I know it's not your fault..you did it out of love..any woman that loves her man will do anything to make her man happy..What you can do is to pray for him and move on...He will surely get his reward...and also pray to God to give you your own partner..A partner that will not lead you astray..A partner that will wait for you until you are ready..A partner that will know from the moment he sees you that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you..Just continue to stay strong..You will surely laugh soon..it's not far..How did this lady help the man in his life? Why is it that most Naija girls think that the best they can offer a man is s3x? The OP is no saint but a willing victim.. How about if she wanted to use pregnancies to trap the guy? What would she bring to the table minus her sexuality? The guy's dad is well made, he's educated and started his own biz, how would the OP contribute to this man's life? Why do some women think that they must be compensated with marriage to come and enjoy another man's sweat? |
naijaking1: Iweala said no money was missing. Where's your information source? I hope not from that same OBJ/Tambuwal?Sanusi/APC soup!Sanusi said $12bn Okonjo Iweala said $10.8bn The point is that huge amount of money is missing.. Google university is tuition free |
fabulousdame: a child dat has not yet been born or named can be called an it...How did this lady help the man in his life? Why is it that most Naija girls think that the best they can offer a man is s3x? The OP is no saint but a willing victim.. How about if she wanted to use pregnancies to trap the guy? What would she bring to the table minus her sexuality? The guy's dad is well made, he's educated and started his own biz, how would the OP contribute to this man's life? Why do some women think that they must be compensated with marriage to come and enjoy another man's sweat? |
naijaking1: Hasn't it occured to you that if a guy couldn't add or subtract, he wouldn't know whether $12B, $1B, $10000B, or $0B is missing.Doesn't it occur to you what a collaborative evidence is? Iweala collaborated this! |
But $12bn is still missing though! |
Logic is in the way when Naija women and men are involved. To say that 3 pregnancies were mistakes and unplanned, would be callous and childish. Both of them are callous, wreckless and selfish. But, I'm going to blame the OP, whose story I have only read.. Why didn't she protect herself? Why didn't she insist on the guy using condoms? If she had contracted STDs or HIV, would she be blaming the guy? U have to selfishly protect urself since you are not married. Did she think that having many unplanned pregnancies would make the guy marry her? Why do some women naively think that they would get married to a guy when the guy has not talked about marriage? If some women would channel half of their risky marriage ventures toward a profitable venture, they would become millionaires overnight.. |
nanizle: Nigerian roads jare.U dey work for immigration or census? |
Mr Knowitall: gWonder why Africa is a dark continent? |
Ohwhy: I dunno why we girls overdress or over makeup even if na to go nearby chemist go buy something or to see a nearby friend. Are these suitors looking for a nun? |
