Sultan8: Thank You for your response. Much appreciated. With regards to your first sentence. I'll just give you a summary. The recruitment was advertised sometime last year and we went through 3 series of tests and then an interview. I believe the job advert was even posted here by none other than TAMMYANYBODY(In fact, that was how i got to know about the recruitment). We were called for documentation sometime in June this year. I also believe that it was also mentioned on this thread. Yes people have been asking about FIRS but we did not hear from them until last week when we were called to pick up our deployment letters. Just as a side note, I believe we were more than 600 called for documentation in June that week but only 201 names were called for deployment last week(Positions offered were between Officer 1 to Assistant Director). FCC was kinda adhered to though, however, it was still kinda skewed towards our brothers and sisters up north(If you catch my drift). I am not privy to any other information as to whether additional persons will be called but, this is all the information I am privy to. Cheers. 22 Likes 1 Share |

Please I need some information on FIRS. I've gotten the letter for deployment but from all indications i want to reject the offer. I simply do not know what their offer is for the position i was given and this was not stated in the letter. Information i've gotten from grapevine has also showed i will be earning lesser if i accepted the offer. So i just want to ask if any one here knows the consolidated annual salary of a Manager and Deputy Manager position at FIRS. I cannot leave the private sector of over a decade to Federal Government if it is not rewarding. A kind response on this will be appreciated. 6 Likes 1 Share |

warlord45: Brotherly, I do not mean to offend or sound condescending but can you say when last there was there a successful second batch of applicants for any government general recruitment? What will be the rationale for NCDMB to successfully select and induct less than 100 GTs and EHs and then select a second batch of the same recruitment? I do not seem to dampen your hope or anyone elses, but a second batch does seem far-fetched. But then again, everyone is entitled to their faith and beliefs. Therefore, i wish you the best in your belief. Cheers. 3 Likes |

Dappa123: Thanks for this information. There has been few and far between of those as of late. If what you've shared is true, then truly, there is little or no hope for successful candidates to be selected via merit. In all honesty, this will be the last time I will waste my precious valuable time in applying for any state or federal government general recruitment. My only exceptions will be probably NNPC and NLNG, the former because they have enough slots to satisfy all the stakeholders and have some left for the mere unconnected candidates like me, and the later because there is some level of transparency in their recruitment process, i know this because i have been through theirs before. Truth is, if we keep electing corrupt leaders into positions, they will continue sharing these slots because in their own twisted minds it is their birthright and we as the ever suffering and smiling citizens that we are, we have accepted such corrupt practices as a norm. Thanks for the information once more brother and have a lovely day ahead. 8 Likes |

A recruitment that was advertised openly is now being concluded secretly. What was the use of advertising it in the dailies pray tell? I implore anyone here on nairaland who has been a beneficiary of the recruitment to kindly speak up subtly. The specifics are not really necessary, just a confirmation that the recruitment has been/is being concluded; If APL has been issued and the month of resumption. The past few weeks has been rife with rumors that activities are going on at the towers. Just need some confirmation to close this chapter of my life. I am EH by the way. Cheers. 5 Likes 1 Share |

burantashii: My brother why won't Nigerians move to the travel section? Just take a look at what we are passing through in the country. In the organization where i work, we have at least 10 people resigning each week and these are seasoned professionals with over 10 years industry experience and about 80% are leaving the country. The level of untold hardship in this country is enough to just leave it shores. Those of us who are unable or unwilling to leave, it will be in our best interest to vote the best candidate in, otherwise, the next slowpoke coming in will raise the suffering level to the power of 3. The hard truth is that the leaders of this country and politicians in ruling positions do not give a flying fcvk where your next meal is coming from. My brother, all in all, we move! 11 Likes |

Nerosoft19: I appreciate your post. If what you said is true, then I presume there may be some credibility on this information shared since you were once on the inside. I must also add that I appreciate all the contributions of others from their sources whether they be for the completion or the cancellation of this exercise. The sad reality is that I for one really hope(d) this recruitment would have been completed ages ago and it is not that i am not currently engaged, (which I am grateful to God for) but that getting into organizations like NCDMB would be immense in contributing to my growth financially and career-wise. I also believe a lot of applicants here may share the same view. I have personally interacted with my brain that it is really time to move on but my heart is still hopeful...lol. That notwithstanding, I may for once agree with Tolaade on the need for everyone of us to acquire a skill(or multiple skills) other than our routine jobs, if not for the passion, but to bring in extra income on the table. With the state of the country now one must have multiple income to survive let alone savings. I hope this month of August looks up positively for us all. Peace! 2 Likes |

SatB: I do respect your opinion but I beg to differ on the bolded. If Mele Kyari knew he would be opting for the contract staff rather than the EH applicants then he should have truncated the exercise at the interview stage. I was invited for the interview and I was lucky enough to be schedule for Saturday(some EHs were scheduled during work days), however, I had to travel on Friday evening to Abuja after work. I expended over 100k on accommodation and transportation just to go for the interview and return back. At the end, we did not even get a snippet of feedback on the outcome of the interview. If that is not ineptitude, I wonder what is. Some people even came from outside the country for the interview, so you can imagine how much expenses they must have borne. Truth is most of the recruitment into Federal government agencies especially the ones that pay above average income are highly politicized and this make it extremely difficult to complete transparently. In fact, I would not be surprised(though I genuinely wish it to be completed) if this NCDMB tow the same line. 3 Likes |

It's the last day of the mid-year, by all affirmations, the FCC clearance of 3 months expires today and yet this recruitment is still looking like a magic trick. But in hindsight, I can say I understand this better. I have been in the private sector all my life, but in the past 8 months I underwent a Federal Government Agency Recruitment and these were my takeaways: *It is extremely difficult to complete an open public service recruitment by pleasing everybody, there is always a faction that will be dissatisfied and would want the whole process to be cancelled. *it is easier to complete a public service recruitment in secret; whether by merit or connections or both. Completion of the recruitment by connections is ubiquitous but the process I went through appeared to be through merit. However, the caliber of persons met on the day of documentation showed that it was ultimately a mixture of both merit and connections. *The North has a stronghold of the public service(I do not say this to start a tribal war, just stating the fact and FYI, I do have northern friends). This perhaps might be the reason NCDMB has refused to move its HQ to Abuja or Lagos, maybe, to reduce external influences. *FCC's involvement in public service recruitment may be doing more harm than good. The 10th best candidate in one state may miss out on appointment even if he performed better than the best performing from another state. *Lastly, the scrupulous and amorous politicians we have will continue lobbying for unqualified candidates into public service due to their selfish interests. Even D-list agencies or lower are bought, sold or lobbied for. To believe that this recruitment by NCDMB is not closely watched by these politicians will be a massive understatement. In summary, I believe the trajectory of this recruitment will end in one of 2 outcomes; It is stalled to the closing embers to at least get a good number of candidates by merit into the organization OR it has been delayed for so long that so many stakeholders are dissatisfied and it will be out rightly cancelled(NCDMB were smart to remain anonymous throughout the recruitment thus far therefore an outright cancellation will have little or no ripple effect). In all, I do hope this recruitment journey transcends into something positive to some(if not all) of us. I wish everyone Godspeed in their future endeavors. 7 Likes |

scopex: From the little information I know, NLNG has a pretty competitive salary package for its full-time staff. They are pretty much in the same league with the IOCs such as Mobil, Shell, Total and the likes. Though the latter may pay higher but NLNG is pretty competitive and has a very conducive environment to work. For the operator trainees, I do not know much about their pay, however, I believe they are being employed in the capacity of being contract staff hence their pay may be considerably lower. For NCDMB, I believe many have stated on this thread that they adopt the same salary scale with NNPC which would imply that GTs would have been receiving an upfront of 4m annually and a monthly salary circa 200 to 300k(I can't say if this is inclusive of all allowances). Also, I heard that NNPC has revised their salary upwards for both the upfront and monthly, not certain of the actual figures. I also do not know if NCDMB has revised theirs as well. In summary, GT at NLNG is considerably better, in terms of pay than NCDMB. But for OT it may be lower. My advise, if you are looking for considerable exposure to learn and grow in your specialty, NLNG should be your choice. However, your growth in terms of being converted to permanent position may be limited. If however you are looking for steady growth in position, NCDMB may be your best bet. Goodluck! 12 Likes |

Eno911: While I share your optimism, truth is that this recruitment, if ever completed, cannot favour us all. I mean realistically, they cannot select everyone. That being said, I do opine that if this recruitment were to be completed within the timeline as given by FCC it will be skewed towards those with connections rather than merit. I mean, if you look at the work experiences of those currently with NCDMB via LinkedIn, there is no possible way the final selection will be based on a series of unsupervised test, UNLESS of course the selection will be based on connections and referrals. If at any point now this recruitment were to favour those on merit list, then interviews and selection has to be done before the end of June or an extended timeline given from FCC which is unlikely seeing that everyone is pretty preoccupied with their election agendas. 1 Like |

May is drawing to a close and we are yet to be notified. Truth is, my opinion, if this exercise is not completed by next month, then it is as good as dead. I'll just classify it as NNPC EH 2.0 and move on. Recruitments for government jobs in the penultimate year of an election year almost always do not see the light of day. 1 Like |

ulaeto: You cannot fault anyone that provides information on this recruitment, positive or otherwise. This is a recruitment thread for NCDMB and for that purpose people share information based on what they hear from their sources. That being said, if you go through the thread thoroughly, you'd see that a lot of persons, not just newscastle has alluded to the fact that the recruitment is coming to a close. Heck even a renowned nairalander known for credible information, Tammyanybody (now deactivated) had stated since January that the recruitment will be completed mid-year. The thing about federal government agencies recruitment is that nothing is ever cast in stone. A recruitment that is alive today can be cancelled tomorrow and vice-versa. Those EH that participated in the NNPC recruitment can testify to that. Imagine a corporation as renowned as NNPC truncated an EH recruitment where people travelled from around the world for interviews without as much as a snippet of information. This was a recruitment that included as high a position as managerial level. The GMD just sat in his office and decided to truncate an open recruitment of over 400 positions. It just shows that FG agency recruitment are not reliable, there are no timelines and the level of bureaucracy in the processes are palpable. I'll just end with this, I applied for an FG agency opening which was contracted to a top consulting firm for screening and selection. Of course the consulting firm has completed the screening and selection based on its timelines from test stage to interview. Guess what, it's been over 3 months after the interview and the FG agency is yet to provide feedback on the issuance of APL. Even the consulting firm seem as confused as the applicants. 10 Likes |

Slowly but surely the month is coming to an end and yet not a single word from NCDMB. This is beginning to look like a mirage. I just re-visited my mail to discover that the last test information and result was on the 30th of January 2021. That is well over 14 months. Truth is, any FG recruitment conducted/yet to be completed in the penultimate year of an election year may very well likely not see the light of day as these leaders with huge avarice would use the opportunities to lobby for favors instead of completing an exercise based on merit. It is well. 1 Like |

Please, pardon my outburst. I just want to know if there is something fundamentally wrong with Nigerian Agencies/parastatals? None, I mean none of the agencies I have applied for has ever commenced and concluded(some were never even concluded) a recruitment in less than 15 months; NNPC, NLNG, FIRS, DPR, NCDMB. I mean none! I have been in the private industry space for a while now and it doesn't take anywhere near this long to complete a recruitment process. Heck! even multinationals that pay over 3 to 5 times what these agencies pay do not take that long. Will this ever change? I just want to implore those of us that will successfully be employed into this agency, we can really do better. our leaders in every facet of anything 'Nigerian' has failed us and if this trend continues, we may not even have a country to look towards in the next decade. Gosh, we can really do better. #feelingdowntrodden 6 Likes 1 Share |

BonjourATous: I normally do not respond that often but let me indulge you this once. Read slowly the statement from the NNPC spokesperson culled from the guardian 'Although spokesman of the corporation, Kennie Obateru, told The Guardian that the company did not see the need to continue with the hiring of experienced hands'. Normally it is a herculean task for government A-list agency to complete a recruitment exercise meritoriously and timely, but, to think that a recruitment that has spanned 2 years where the spokesperson averred that they do not see the need to continue with the exercise and yet you hold on to hope is purely delusional. The NLNG was peculiar because of the drop in oil and there was constant communication. I know of this because i was part of that exercise. The DPR on the other hand was clearly completed, heck it was posted on their website that the exercise had been completed, yet some other delusional applicants still believed there was an imaginary second list, even those without connections were disturbing the Big Man upstairs with meaningless prayers. As it stands now, it has dawned on the delusional ones that the ship of that exercise has long sailed. Now i'm not saying that there can't be a turn around that this exercise will be completed. But fam, it will be nigh impossible for this to turn around. I admire the courage of those who protested and i really do wish it would have an impact but unfortunately i do not think it will and that is my personal opinion on it. Bottom line, you best move on. it keeps one focused onto the next one. Peace 9 Likes |

The spokesperson for NNPC has responded that they filled the vacant positions for EH internally yet you chose to discard it and believe in a troll that has no affiliation to NNPC management? Wow!. I guess this is the same reasons the Nigerian politicians take us for a ride. Because we can always be gullible and continue believing in what does not make sense rationally. i mean it's been a year and 5 months plus since the GTs were contacted, hell its been over 2 years since the interview was completed. Some individuals in some organizations would already have been promoted within that period. Best you assume this recruitment exercise is a lost cause. Else you hold on to an illusion. adeakin777: Just a referral to this post i'd made a long time ago. The bureaucracy in NNPC cannot stop, at least not with this generation of leaders. I say this because the appointment for the position of NNPC GMD is political. These politicians will keep fixing their kids, relatives and wards in these A-List agencies without any recourse for the common man. As usual, It is seeming likely that NNPC will end a recruitment without any form of communication until an advert for a new recruitment exercise is published. Learning point has always been, never rely on any federal government job without the adequate connection, you are more often to be disappointed than selected. At this stage I do hope everyone has other plans in line to move ahead. I wish everyone the best of luck. Cheers. 2 Likes |

yungmin: I am an EH hopeful but however, I see things differently from the way you viewed his post. In all honesty, it is good news for the contract staff and in an objective sense of the word, well deserved. If you have worked in an organization that employs graduates on renewable contractual basis, perhaps you will share the same view as the poster. In truth, some of this contract staff have the requisite industry experience and even qualifications to fill the roles open to Experienced Hires, however companies decide to keep these contract staff for years, perhaps decades with little or no increment in incentives and no prospect for career growth. It is quite common in banks. I really do not know the basis for which the contract guys were employed, it may be centered on Nepotism or not, that is not for me to say. However, our grouse should be projected at the management of NNPC who published over 200 EH roles; allowed us to write aptitude test, travel from far and wide both nationally and internationally and are still keeping us in the dark after what now, 18 months? If this isn't ineptitude at its peak i wonder what is! In any case, we pray for the best but prepare for the worst by moving forward positively in our various endeavors. 6 Likes |

Originakalokalo: I commend you for the information you provide on this thread from time to time. However, I beg to differ on how delaying the release of the names will be in favor of those merited for the positions. On the contrary, the longer it takes to release the list, the higher the chances of the list being compromised. The corporation was supposedly lauded for the completion of the GT exercise and in truth a lot of guys got in by merit and the only thing that delayed the release of that list at an earlier date was the court case. Immediately that was settled the list was released. This is how the EH list ought to have been released, but apparently it has been grossly politicized. Releasing the list is very simple; Interviews were conducted and scored. Obtain the high scorers along with other criteria(Like age, test scores, qualifications et al) for each role and compile your list based on this assessment. Release the DAMN list! It is not that hard. But apparently the GMD is looking out for his position and doesn't want to offend the High and Mighty asking for slots. 4 Likes |

T4kbaba: Well, this article just corroborates what some other individuals have submitted here. When this exercise started, I'd earlier posited that the level of bureaucracy and nepotism is endemic in the corporation and it would take a gargantuan effort by committed staff of the inner circle of the corporation to turn things around. This just shows how horrible we are as a country. It is somewhat bemusing that in 2021, a Nigerian government-owned parastatal that conducts a recruitment exercise cannot communicate the outcome of an exercise to the participants that takes years to conclude. Even foreign O&G companies that attract 20 times what this corporation offers do not even take this long to complete a recruitment exercise. Hell, some one-man businesses are not this incompetent in conducting a recruitment exercise. I definitely won't be surprised if these jokers keep the EH applicants in the dark until another exercise is conducted in years to come. This country is indeed a joke! 4 Likes |

First you were giving false prophesies on this thread rather unapologetically, now you are asking us to pray for you? You best cease your inane posts riddled with unguarded religious fanaticism! To the saner applicants, It is becoming clear that NNPC is choosing to tow the path they have in time past; keeping applicants in limbo. From the response on the tweet shared on this thread, it just shows the level of ineptitude surrounding government agencies and parastatals. Why advertise for EH positions if your public affairs GGM would say that recruitment is on 'as need basis'; and if you do not intend to recruit the EH as earlier planned, does best practice not require that you communicate same to the expectant EH personnel in the process? It just goes to show the level of bureaucracy we have in our Nigerian system which i have pointed out over time. Whilst we are hopeful that this comes to a positive close; I'd advise every EH hopeful to move on as though the recruitment has ended. In that way, one can plan ahead without this recruitment in mind. If it does end positively, the successful ones can relive the joy of being selected, even though belated. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Inside Life! Employees in an organization have shared some private information(albeit rumors) regarding the recruitment in their organization and outsiders are discrediting it. Well, to each their own. To the successful GTs who painstakingly visited this thread even though not obligated to share any information, but did, I do appreciate your concerns and submissions. I believe that some of you genuinely want this EH quagmire to come to successful conclusion. I'd also appeal not to be discouraged in sharing whatever information you deem necessary as regards the EH recruitment. To the EH hopefuls, I just want us to keep up with the pressure on the SM platforms and be prayerful. I do believe and pray that this EH would be concluded favorably for us before the year runs out. NB- If the EH exercise is/has been cancelled(I do not wish so), I do not believe(my personal opinion) NNPC would announce it on any public forum or even notify anyone. They cancelled a whole recruitment of both GTs and EHs in 2014 without any iota of information and I do not think that would be changing anytime soon. I wish everyone the best in their various endeavors. 3 Likes |
