Mr Zoputa/Hooha, while i appreciate your positive comments on the closure of this recruitment, you need to differentiate between positivism and religious fanaticism. Desist from using the name of God in vain! With your former moniker, you gave a fake prediction and then you deactivated your account and came up with another. With this new moniker you are still giving fake predictions and making permutations on when the list will be released based on recent information shared on this thread and then you bring God into the mix? Tone it down Mr. God is not a man that He should lie. If he did speak through you(which i don't believe He does anyways) the list would have been released when you said it would.

Is there anyone having a challenge in accessing the recruitment portal? I just can't seem to access the recruitment site for a couple of days now.

Happy new month to every one and especially the EH Hopefuls. Who knows, maybe the list will be released this month to resume in September. I do pray so and perhaps i'd be favored with a birthday present. #ifwisheswerehorses.

@OP, my sincerest apologies if i derailed this thread in anyway.

I'd followed this topic from inception and initially, i'd wanted to reach out to the OP for a piece of advice. She seemed so young and dare i say inexperienced that she could pass for a baby sister or even a daughter.However, going by the way the whole situation has spiraled out of control, i decided to halt my initial action.

That being said, my only grouse is with the boyfriend who took advantage of a naive young woman(i bet she differs on this as she's in love) and has impregnated her for the second time, without a home to call theirs. Young woman, this is not an insult, but, your boyfriend, even though has a job washing cars and is fending for you and your baby, was irresponsible to impregnate you for the second time while still squatting. The reality of this will set in when the children starts growing, demands are mounting and maybe your boyfriend's friend wants to settle and would need his space.

I wouldn't say you are strong-willed to advice as you did take some step to confess to your sister which was the right thing to do and i commend you for that. However, when it comes to your boyfriend i guess you are all in. A ride or die chick. That is fine. People like you are so young and will only learn from experience. I just hope such experience is not so indelible that it mars you for the rest of your life. My parting advice for you is this: 'The true colors of a man is evident when he has money and not when he is broke'. Know this, the moment your boyfriend situation changes positively, if it does that is, there is a tendency he will leave you high and dry. You can take this to the bank.

I wish you Godspeed in your future endeavors and don't forget to equip yourself to fend for your children. They may be all you have at some point in life.

Isn't the virus partly the reason for the crash in oil prices due to a sharp drop in global demand?

One thing about covid 19 is that even if it ends up infecting just a few, it has affected all of us in one way or the other.

Indeed COVID-19 is part of it. But the crash in oil is basically because of the price wars between Saudi and Russia, with the latter seeking to weaken US position on oil production. There is excess supply and an ever decreasing demand. Storage costs is driving down the price for oil as supply increases. COVID-19 has caused restrictions on airline movements as most economies are closing down their borders in a bid to limit spread and flatten the curve of the virus' spread. With the reduction in airline movements, demand for jet fuel will be lower and cannot cater for the increasingly crazed oil supply between Saudi and Russia. The only reprieve that can come for oil price is if OPEC(Saudi) and Russia come to an agreement on an oil production cut to stabilize price which is what is needed in this pandemic situation.

Truth is, we are in serious precarious times. I hardly doubt that the Nigerian economy can survive the bust and COVID-19 at the same time. Recession may set in again, companies will lay off and bankruptcy of many companies will be imminent. Our prayers should be that we should not face both at the same time. If we do, i fear this recruitment may be halted for a long time. However, i am optimistic and pray it ends sooner than anticipated.

Ahhhhhhh.......Finally!! some decorum in this thread.

First of all, a hearty congratulations to the successful few here. I must say, i am quite impressed with the way a lot of individuals who were not successful are handling the situation maturely. Know this for a fact, it is never the end of the world. Where there is life, there is hope. And do know what your best friend would be now? TIME. It heals all wounds. A lot of seemingly brilliant minds here will go further and do a lot of exploits., this i know. With determination, hard work and prayers, you will look back at this thread some years from now and laugh saying 'Is this really the job i was so obsessed about' There are circa 20-30 companies in Nigeria that are miles better than NNPC in terms of pay, allowances, career growth et al. Heck some of you would even be great entrepreneurs that would partner with NNPC on major contracts in the future. So cheer up, life continues and someday this will all be part of a success story.

Like all job threads here on nairaland, less than 10% of the populace almost usually succeed until the end. I;d expect the same for the EHs. I know a lot of EHs are currently engaged and the disappointment on missing out may not be highly felt like the GTs. I wish the EHs recruitment comes to a positive conclusion and it is handled maturely the way the GTs did. Regardless of the outcome, life is beautiful and pleasant to those who see it as such. I hope someday, every sees it as such.

They have since 2018. The delusional ones waiting are expecting a mysterious second list to appear from nowhere even after the organisation had officially announced the conclusion of the exercise on their website. Even after the highly connected received theirs late last year, they are still waiting. This is 2020, an exercise that commenced in 2016 and some people are still waiting. Highly bemusing indeed!

I should believe we are all learned. As polite as your request may sound, i'm sorry to say that it is plainly inane. The desperation on this thread reeks to high heavens .Funny enough majority of people who have/will receive APL are not or have never heard of this thread. Yet, i am sure the person that provided this information will be quoted by more than 10 other monikers with additional mediocre questions, adding to the multiple pages of already established drivel.

Well, at least by now it should have dawned on a lot of newbies applying for a Federal Government Job how their system works. All the hullabaloo about the swiftness, merit and release of letters have quieted down. This is reality, it is the Nigerian system and dare i say it may not change for decades to come. That being said, there may be a silver lining for some. For those who are desperate for this job, now is the time to reach out to whatever connections you have, your local government chairman, your senators. HOR, church, school or anyone in a top position to help out.
Majority of you have gotten to this stage on merit but a lot will need more than that to get in. This is not a sentimental statement, it is fact. And if it makes anyone feel better, more than 95% of applicants for positions in NNPC are going in for reasons(financial, job security et al) other than making genuine changes to the system. And even if they intend/attempt to, the system is far too contaminated Top-Down.

I had stated earlier the level of bureaucracy in the system and some here are still bemused. I laugh really, don't be surprised if APLs are dispatched via a courier service because as usual it has been contracted and someone, somewhere has to benefit from that. Truth is, not too many people will get in without influence and that boils down to sheer luck or your spiritual belief(Hooha can relate). And i say this because a lot of people who merit positions applied for may not be contacted(due to name swaps or FCC restrictions).

In all, this job doesn't necessarily define the destiny of anyone, some may not be contacted but may be better off than those selected in years to come. That is life's mystery.

What recruitment are you referring to? The one that officially ended in 2018. Other than faceless monikers postulating that there's a second batch somewhere has there been any official communication by DPR to this effect? Don't worry these guys will keep shifting dates until it dawns on y'all that this ship has sailed a long time ago. And i maintain, if by any chance there was/is a second batch, it will most likely never be by merit. People on that second list are already savvy and will not come to this thread to gloat considering the sensitivity of the circumstances in which they were recruited.

Just so you know, it has been officially documented that the exercise ended in 2018. If you skip through several pages on this thread you'd have realized that. Also, the error on the recruitment portal has an absolutely insignificant trajectory to the exercise which as earlier stated, has ended. Move the f**k on.

How did we get here in this country? Why is it so hard for a lot of Nigerians to accept reality. Are we so blinded by faith that we do not realize what reality connotes? Even the Holy Book stated that 'Faith without works is dead'. DPR had announced the completion of this recruitment exercise OFFICIALLY on their website and yet some people held on to the fact that the recruitment portals were still open and so there was hope. Now the portal is closed some people have just failed to move on. This is almost laughable, utterly ludicrous! How can an exercise that started 3 years ago still recruit GTs at this stage? If you are waiting for light at the end of this tunnel, kindly move on. And IF, if by any chance that there is a second list it will be nowhere publicized, and how do i know? Because it has already been announced officially that this exercise has ended! Move on People! Your life may actually turn out better without DPR. And to those spreading false information, Shame on y'all.

There is this cliché that 'maturity is not determined by age'. However, from an empirical study of this thread, it can be deduced that maturity is INDEED determined by age, save for a few exceptions(which are outliers by the way).

Anyone writing to NNPC on multiple payments is just plain stupid, i'm sorry to say. The erratic payments by NNPC as an established organisation can/should easily have been detected by now, they honestly don't need you to remind them. If you were not on nairaland, i am sure you would definitely be unaware that some people were/are yet to receive payment. As a matter of fact, you'd assume as a norm that the streams of payments are being made in batches. If you want to display your modesty, kindly contact anyone who hasn't been paid and do a transfer, as simple as that.

FYI- I have only been paid once.

I don't support the trending of any hashtags. This goes against decent behaviour. Remember that you can lose control of the narrative once it picks momentum. No one can tell how the tone of the campaign will turn once the public who are not currently at this stage of the recruitment join the campaign. Also, you'll be making yourselves ready casualties of the result of opposition party insults of the current government and NNPC.

I know people who were in NLNG recruitment from 2013 that lasted for 3 years at least! In the end the recruitment was concluded after a pro-longed period of silence. We haven't even spent up to six months since the final stage. So what's the hurry?!

I expect that it is GTs itching for this campaign. EHs surely know that a Twitter campaign would more likely hurt than help us.

This is the outcome that is unveiled when there are lots of jobless youths with lots of free time. They have no idea how this country works that is why a revolution would never be feasible from the youths. Our politicians have no shame, how many times have they faced public embarrassment and yet fail to resign from their position. Talk less of an NNPC recruitment that is their haven.

Companies and multinationals take at least a year or more to complete their recruitment exercises and they are expecting a federal government parastatal to complete a national recruitment under 6 months. The NLNG lasted for 3 years for those employed/regretted and some of us that were 'waitlisted' had to wait another year to be rejected and some clowns here are sharing hashtags for an FG recruitment that has lasted barely 7 months. When they eventually cancel the whole recruitment then it would dawn on a lot of these guys whose lives are literally hanging on the thread of this job.

Lots of people have no clue the way recruitment works even with govt MDAs. General recruitments of this nature, even if a list is sent from Presidency, they will indeed get the job, but will wait,collect APL with others and resume with everyone else. Its baffling how people reason. If they have resumed, who onboarded them? We should not be in a haste to type to impress gullible people and gettison reasoning. NOBODY has collected APL.

It is unfortunate that you are the one clueless about how government MDAs work. To think that you are doubting that APLs have been distributed for presidential candidates. There has been no mass on boarding sine 2012, but are you aware that a lot of people have been recruited through the backdoor since 2012? Who on boarded them? spirits?. If you have ever worked in a govt MDA or have ever seen any of their recruitment process you definitely would not postulate the aforementioned. And for the records, collecting APL doesn't mean they have resumed. They could resume with the rest or even at a later date at their CONVENIENCE and nobody will bath an eyelid. Little wonder CBN and FIRS rarely conducts mass recruitment but have ever increasing number of staff.

My job role has very few professionals in Nigeria/Oil and Gas, the last job I took up with Oando, I was the only finalist for that job role out of hundreds of thousands who wrote the test, whereas other areas like HSE, Finance, Business Development etc. had scores of people remaining.

Very few people more qualified than I am professionally will apply to NNPC. It's only interesting to me because I just hit the number of years needed to apply for a more snr level than I am now in the industry.

My interview went very well.

As long as they will recruit up to 2 people for that role, I'll be there.

There are people with over 10 years of cognate O&G experience that humbly posit that no one is above regret mail and then there are some persons who applied for graduate recruitment job vacancies as recent as 2017(like this guy) that are certain of APL even in the current spate of unsavory news filtering through.

You can brag about all you expected earnings or your flawed level of experience(minimum of 6 years is required for EH for this recruitment) or APL. But, Be humble!

Just a question i'll like to ask you. Peradventure, the APLs for this current recruitment drops in 2020(God Forbid o). When you get in, what recruitment process would you say you were part of? 2019 or 2020? and what if another recruitment started and ended in year 2020? what would you call that set? same as yours? Just a penny for your thoughts.

Your elder brother CANNOT be part of the 2012 recruitment and currently work in NNPC. That would be entirely false unless; he went through the backdoor OR he was part of the earlier 2010/2011 recruitment which ended in JULY 2012. For clarity sake, because this is the last i would quote you. Another mass recruitment opened in DECEMBER 2012, was suspended until NOVEMBER 2013, an aptitude test was conducted on DECEMBER 6, 2014 and was cancelled in 2015 after GEJ lost out at the presidential election.
