Your passion connects you to your portion in life.

SCRIPTURE: And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. Nehemiah 1:4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your passion connects you to your portion in life.

It has been established that your passion is key to discovering your destiny in life. Moses had a passion for the deliverance of his people from captivity in Egypt. That passion made him to kill an Egyptian. (Exodus 2:11-12).

Beloved, your passion connects you to your portion in life. If you follow your passion, you can land in your portion. If you follow your passion, you can get to your possession.

Now, what does passion refer to?

1. Your passion is your fire of desire to make a difference in a particular area

Your passion is your fire of desire. It is that desire on fire that will not let you rest. The passion of Nehemiah was his desire on fire to deliver his people from the reproach of captivity (Nehemiah 1:1-4). Your passion is your desire on fire to make a difference in a particular area.

2. Your passion is your burden or weight of heart to be a blessing or to meet a need in one area or the other

Passion comes like a weight. It comes like a burden. If you are not careful, passion can at times weigh you down. That was what was on Nehemiah (Nehemiah 1:1-4).

3. Your passion is that which makes you to literally grieve or even weep in response to certain challenges or situations that require answers and solutions.

This was the kind of passion that made Nehemiah (Nehemiah 1:1-4). He was not underprivileged. He was not among those suffering in captivity. He was comfortably settled in the king’s palace, yet he broke down in tears because the wall of Jerusalem was destroyed and the people were in great affliction.

Beloved, ask God to show you the passion of your life. Follow it and fulfil your destiny.

You step into dominion in life by what you discover from Scriptures.

SCRIPTURE: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You step into dominion in life by what you discover from Scriptures.

It has been established that discovery is key to destiny fulfilment. Discovery is the secret of destiny recovery.

Now, what is the power of discovery?

Today we shall be exploring two powers of discovery:

1. Discovery is key to dominion (Matthew 16:17-18).

You step into dominion in life by what you discover from scriptures. There is something you will see that will make you to shift in power, authority, and audacity. The level of dominion you exercise in life is a function of your discoveries. Light is reflective; when you carry light, you don’t beg darkness to leave. Darkness excuses itself as soon as light arrives. You can be lighted to a point that you become an illuminator. When you step into a place, everywhere is flooded with illumination.

Beloved, if you lack power or dominion, step up in discoveries.

2. Discovery is cure to deficiency and shortage

Deuteronomy 29:29 says,

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Discoveries cure deficiencies. Revelation is a magnet of possession. There is something good that can travel in your direction if fresh light comes upon you.

Remember this: You step into dominion in life by what you discover from scriptures.

The Blessing of God positions the blessed in realms of dominion and authority.

SCRIPTURE: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Blessing of God positions the blessed in realms of dominion and authority.

The Blessing of God is a Divine force that aids life and destiny fulfilment. The Blessing makes a person fulfil his God-ordained Purpose on earth. When the Blessing of God is on your life, you are empowered to do what an ordinary man cannot do.

Today, we shall look at two powers or products of the Blessing:

1. The Blessing positions the blessed in realms of authority and dominion (Genesis 1:28).

The Blessing of God positions the blessed in realms of dominion and authority. A blessed man cannot end as a loser in life. You can’t carry the blessing and end in defeat. A blessed person is a man in charge wherever you find him. In their days, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph were in charge because the Blessing of God was on their lives.

Beloved, make up your mind to function in the Blessing.

2. The Blessing empowers the blessed to exist as a barrier breaker, obstacle crosser, limit breaker, and territory taker (Genesis 1:28).

This is what happened to Abraham. God placed the Blessing on Abraham’s life and that Blessing broke generational barriers. When the Blessing of God is upon you, you reach where nobody in your family has ever reached.

The Blessing of God makes you to be a barrier breaker, an obstacle crosser, a limit breaker, and a territory taker. The Blessing of God makes you live in the realm of indomitable and limitless existence.

Remember this: The Blessing of God positions the blessed in realms of dominion and authority.

Living with an investment mind-set rather than expenditure mind-set is wisdom for financial supplies.

SCRIPTURE: …but wisdom is profitable to direct. Ecclesiastes 10:10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Living with an investment mind-set rather than expenditure mind-set is wisdom for financial supplies.

Some time ago, my wife told me a story she read from a book. It is the story of a village that had a king, a wise man and two rich men. All the other people in the village were poor.

One day, all the people came together and said to the king, “Let us kill the rich people in this village. They are the reasons why we are all poor.”

The king did not know what to do because the two rich men always took care of his family needs. So, the king asked the only wise man what to do. The wise man said, “There is only one thing to do. If you want the rich men to live, let them distribute all their wealth and resources to everyone in the village.”

Then the rich people agreed and distributed all their substances to everyone in the village and they all became rich overnight. Guess what happened next? They began to manifest their inherent poverty mentality: people who had one wife began to marry more wives and have more children; those who had one bicycle bought more motor cycles. So, they began to acquire things with their poverty mind-set. They thought that wealth is the presence of material possessions. No. Rather, it is the presence of mentality.

So, after about five years, the money of the poor people disappeared and they became five times poorer than they were before they got the money.

However, the rich made the money back; in fact, they became richer because of the principles of sowing and reaping. They got more resources because they still did what they did initially to get the money.

Beloved, my counsel is, exist with a prosperity mentality. Living with an investment mind-set rather than expenditure mind-set is wisdom for financial supplies.

THE PATIENCE OF LOVE

Love is very patient.

SCRIPTURE: Love is patient… 1 Corinthians 13:4 (NIV)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Love is very patient.

I knew a young man who said he had associated with bad friends and became an armed robber. According to him, every time he came home after a robbery operation, his mother would tell him, “My son, you are not a robber; you are a pastor! You can’t be a thief; you are a pastor! I didn’t give birth to you for you to end as a robber”. And she continued talking to him like that.

One day, the young man said that about seven of them went to rob somewhere in the Northern part of Nigeria and a team of policemen suddenly arrived at the scene. All the armed robbers, including himself took to their heels. As he ran for his life, he said in front of him was a high fence, and behind him, the policemen. He asked himself, “What should I do?” And before he knew what was happening, he found himself on the other side of the fence. The rest of his gang members were wasted but he survived. After this experience, he gave his life to Christ and became a pastor.

Can you see that? People said that this boy was an armed robber, but love said he was a pastor! This is the lesson to learn: Love is very patient.

If you are in a relationship trying to get married, know that love can wait. It is lust that cannot wait. Love can wait. If you are in courtship for two or three years, real love can wait. Real love says, “I met this young lady or this young man pure, and I will not drop his or her quality by iniquity. My assignment is to enhance his or her quality.”

Love is very patient. Every time you see yourself giving up easily, losing a lot of patience on children, loved ones around you, it’s an error. Love is patient.

Remember this: Love is very patient.

THE TRAGEDY OF FEAR

Fear is a magnet for evil just as faith is a magnet for good.

SCRIPTURE: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Job 3:25

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Fear is a magnet for evil just as faith is a magnet for good.

The spirit of fear has been confirmed to be one of the deadly enemies of destiny. This includes the fear of failure, the fear of the future, the fear of the unknown, etc.

Now, how is fear such a deadly enemy of destiny? What are the tragedies of living in fear?

i) Fear invites disaster

Fear is a magnet for evil just as faith is a magnet for good (Job 3:25).

ii) Fear frustrates mentality

A frightened person is a mentally incapacitated person; and you need your mind to fulfil your destiny and arrive at the desired future (Philippians 4:.

iii) Fear paralyzes action and initiative (1 Kings 19:1-5).

Fear paralyzes action and initiative. For instance, if someone is told that he is HIV positive and he allows fear to set in, his actions could be paralyzed. He may not make any further plan for his future or take life seriously; rather, he may just be waiting to die. But that shouldn’t be!

iv) Fear equals faith in the wickedness of the devil and doubt in the faithfulness of God (Matthew 14:30-31).

Fear makes a person to exercise faith in the opposite direction, the direction of the wickedness of the devil, which equals disaster.

v) Fear paralyzes acceleration

When a person is frozen with fear, his progress in life and destiny is arrested (1 Kings 19:1-5).

Beloved, I counsel you to deal decisively with fear in order to fulfil your destiny.

Remember this: Fear is a magnet for evil just as faith is a magnet for good.

Strict obedience of covenant practice, without negotiating Divine instructions, is key to wealth and abundance.

SCRIPTURE: Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2 Chronicles 20:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Strict obedience of covenant practice, without negotiating Divine instructions, is key to wealth and abundance.

The Will of God for the church is that the Body of Christ produces the wealthiest billionaires on earth. This is because in every generation in the Bible, the wealthiest and most influential people were covenant people. These were covenant people who strictly obeyed covenant principles. But today, people negotiate God’s instruction.

So, strict obedience of covenant practice, without negotiating Divine instructions, is key to wealth and abundance.

Voodoo and Hindu believers would strictly adhere to what their priests tell them to do. Other religious adherents strictly do what their leaders tell them to do, but Christians usually negotiate the instruction of their priest.

An unbeliever businessman would diligently service an altar somewhere, and faithfully adhere to the dictates of the priest of those altars.

So, if the people of God are to arise and take their high places in God, they must believe the Lord their God to be established and believe His ordained prophets so they can prosper (2 Chronicles 20:20).

Beloved, do not negotiate Divine instructions through your priestly cover.

Remember this: Strict obedience of covenant practice, without negotiating Divine instructions, is key to wealth and abundance.

SIN – THE ROOT OF GENERATIONAL CALAMITY

The crookedness of today equals the wretchedness of tomorrow. What you do today can affect your children and their destinies tomorrow.

SCRIPTURE: And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the Lord shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. Joshua 7:25.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The crookedness of today equals the wretchedness of tomorrow. What you do today can affect your children and their destinies tomorrow.

Sin has been confirmed to be a major cause of generational calamity and disaster. The Scripture is filled with the examples of people who were negatively affected by sin. Examples abound of people who took what did not belong to them and the consequences they suffered. Adam and Eve, and Rachel were examples. They took what they were not licensed to take and they ended in disaster.

Now, another example of people who suffered the calamitous consequences of sin was Achan. Achan took what he was not licensed to take, thereby provoking generational calamity and tragedy.

When the children of Israel destroyed Jericho, God told them not to touch or carry anything from Jericho. But Achan decided to take a Babylonish garment that he was not supposed to take. Thereafter, Israel went to a battle with a small country called Ai, and Israel was beaten and almost defeated by Ai.

The children of Israel turned their back and ran to Joshua. When Joshua inquired of God, God told him that Israel had touched the accursed thing. When nobody owned up, they had to cast lots and it fell on Achan. He and his family were stoned to death (Joshua 7:25).

You see, he took only a Babylonish garment and a wedge of gold, but he lost everything, including his life and family in one day. He also lost the riches he had before, riches he rightly laboured for.

It is very painful to know that even his wife and children died with him. This means, what you do can affect your children and their future. Corrupt and fraudulent people jeopardize the future of their family members.

I was tempted to ask why his wife and children had to suffer the consequence of his sin. Then I realized that it was possible that when he brought home the stolen items, they did not speak up, but rather agreed to partake in them, and so, they also suffered the consequences.

Beloved, the crookedness of today equals the wretchedness of tomorrow. What you do today can affect your children and their destinies tomorrow.

Confession deprives the enemy of the license to afflict you with sickness and diseases.

SCRIPTURE: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Confession deprives the enemy of the license to afflict you with sickness and diseases.

There is a connection between iniquity and affliction.

Psalm 119:67 says,

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

This means going astray can bring affliction. Transgression provokes affliction.

Psalm 107:17 corroborates it:

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

But confession is key to healing (James 5:16).

Now, how does confession and forgiveness bring healing?

i. Confession and forgiveness of sins deprive the enemy the license to operate (James 5:16).

If you have prayed to be healed and the symptoms of sickness still persist, you can confess your sins and say, “Lord, in any area I have broken the hedge that invited the enemy into my life, I ask for mercy and forgiveness. I ask that the cleansing power of the Blood of Jesus wash me from all sins”.

Beloved, confession deprives the enemy of the license to afflict you with sickness and diseases. It was sin that gave the devil license in the Garden of Eden for the curse to come upon Adam and Eve.

ii. Confession and forgiveness of sin imparts the ability to pray with boldness for your healing

Proverbs 28:1 says,

The righteous are as bold as a lion.

You can receive your healing on the ground of boldness due to righteousness. You are bold and can receive your healing if there is nothing standing between you and your deliverance.

Always maintain a clear conscience before God and people. Do not give any ground to the enemy to afflict you with sickness.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you know can turn your captivity around.

Discovery is key to life and destiny fulfilment. Destiny must first be discovered before it can be fulfilled.

Now, why is discovery necessary? Take note of these points:

1. Discovery is key to recovery

When you discover, you recover. Daniel discovered from the Book that the captivity of the children of Israel should not exceed seventy years. That discovery became the recovery of the destiny of Israel (Daniel 9:1-2). Discovery is key to recovery, including destiny recovery.

2. Discovery is key to delivery

What you discover concerning your life will determine what you deliver to your generation. Jesus discovered who He was and that discovery delivered His calling, potential and the Grace of God on His Life (Luke 4: 16-17).

3. Discovery is key to deliverance (John 8:32)

What you know can turn your captivity around. The captivity of the children of Israel turned because Daniel discovered that they were not meant to be in captivity more than seventy years (Daniel 9:1-2).

4. Discovery is key to dominion

When Jesus asked His disciples who do men think the son of man is, Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. Matthew 16:16.

Then Jesus said unto Peter, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:17-18.

That means, discovery is key to dominion over the gates of hell and the forces of darkness.

Beloved, ask God to help see what you need to see to move from where you are to where you are meant to be.

SCRIPTURE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Proverbs 23:7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Wealth is a lifestyle sponsored by a mind-set, and poverty is also a lifestyle sponsored by a mind-set.

Divine Wisdom has been confirmed to sponsor supernatural supplies. Supernatural supplies or wealth is not a matter of location or education; it is a matter of Divine wisdom or intelligence.

You see, there is a way poor people behave when they see money. There is also a way wealthy people behave when they see money. There is a way poor people think regarding money, and there is a way wealthy people think regarding money.

A poor-minded person thinks of what to buy when money enters his hands but a wealth-minded person thinks of how to multiply that money when it enters his hands. Poor people have a hunter’s mentality towards money; it is the mentality to kill and eat. But rich people have a shepherd’s mentality towards money; it is the mentality to breed and multiply it.

A man with poverty mentality can wear a pair of shoes of, say, One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) when he does not have Ten Naira (N10) in his bank account. When you see a rich man putting on a pair of shoes worth One Hundred Thousand Naira, he has Millions of Naira in his bank account.

So, poor people do what sponsors poverty but rich people do what explodes their riches. That is why it is often said that the poor are getting poorer while the rich are getting richer. It is not the fault of the rich for getting richer.

My counsel is, find out from poor people what they do, and avoid it. Find out what the rich do and embrace it.

Remember this: Wealth is a lifestyle sponsored by a mind-set, and poverty also is a lifestyle sponsored by a mind-set.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Please never respect anyone enough to please them at the expense of pleasing God and yourself.

In life, those who follow the crowd usually get lost in the crowd, but those who take a stand for God stand out in life. It is important to know that your assignment in life is not to see how many people you can please but how much you can please your Maker and be at peace with your actions.

Please, never respect anyone enough to please them at the expense of pleasing God and yourself. You must always take a stand against evil even if you have to stand alone. Stand against evil even if it means standing against your blood relations, or closest friends. This was what made Joseph to stand out in his generation.

Please understand this: The fact that you and your siblings came out of the same womb does not mean you have the same destiny. Having the same father doesn’t mean having the same future. Life is a product of personal adventure. What you do with your life today determines where you find yourself tomorrow.

So, to please other people at the expense of pleasing God makes you a nonentity on earth. Refuse to join those who refuse to take a stand for God so you don’t become a nonentity in life.

Beloved, if you are a political officer holder, do the right thing even if you have to sacrifice a second tenure. Be A God pleaser.

Remember this: Please never respect anyone enough to please them at the expense of pleasing your God and yourself.

There is a connection between sickness and sin; there is a connection between the confession of sins and the healing of the body.

SCRIPTURE: Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. Psalms 103:1-3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is a connection between sickness and sin; there is a connection between the confession of sins and the healing of the body.

The Scripture makes it clear that a major channel for healing and health is confession and forgiveness of sins.

James 5:14-16 says,

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

This means, if a sick person is anointed with oil, the prayer of faith can heal him. And if he has committed sin, he can be forgiven.

This means, sickness is linked with sin. It may not be every sickness, but there is a connection between sickness and sin. And there is a connection between the confession of sins and the healing of the body.

Psalms 103:1-3 says,

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.

Before God would heal all your diseases, He first forgives your iniquities (sins).

Also, Psalm 119:67 says,

Before I was afflicted, I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Going astray does not only mean smoking, drinking or fornicating, it could also mean little exaggeration of facts. Going astray could also involve being arrogant, keeping malice and refusing to forgive your offenders.

Beloved, ensure you stay away from iniquity in order to have sound health.
