Happy Sunday house!

Pls is it compulsory to submit any English proficiency test scores, like IELTS in 573 visa application? Or can one simply rely on other form of testing which satisfies the school you got admission?
Nope, not compulsory. I did mine without any English test and I'm in Australia now. The only thing is some locals find my accent funny! grin grin

You should have used IOM from the beginning. They use official rate and the rate is reviewed monthly. So far as you use your card for any forex transaction, you'll be charged at the bank rate for dollar. Even IOM will tell you to pay the naira equivalent, not in dollars.
kennethagada:
Guys be aware, if u are paying for flight ticket online, u are been charge at black market rate oooooo not official bank rate (for those charged in dollars). yesterday i form mugu think say i wise. i booked with Orbitz online and the fair was $927. calculating using 199 naira to a dollar officially it will amount to 183000 naira but instead i saw a debit of 307000 naira, dat is, i was charged at 331 naira to a dollar. I won maddddddd. when i called first bank the said the have noting to do with transaction using card dat it is strictly between me and the airline company so dat was y i was charged at Aboki rate.

Don't act in ignorance like me abeg. thou IOM was frustrating me and my blood been the hot for the ticket, so since thursday i have been in touch with IOM and the have been unable to secure a booking for me.

Please, for those who applied through education agencies, try and contact them, tell them to check their spam/junk box as that was where mine laid for about a week. I feel for you guys as I can testify to the feelings I had about the suspense. If you know 21 - 30 days have passed, contact the agencies. Or better still, put a call to Pretoria on Monday morning, let your passport number be handy, they might ask for your teleperformance number too. Best regards.

I'm aware you used this APP to Holla them Pretorians.
How much did they [Telbo App] charged you from your account when they gave you the $10 or €10 ,
Becox it seems they're charging via Euro nowadays as I've checked?
I recharged $10, that is about 2000 naira. But the call rate is great. 2¢ and 3 ¢ per minute for Australian and south African destinations respectively, that is 2 and 3 naira per minute respectively.

Please house I need your advise, my agent has been telling me that my student visa is on process,I have provided every Document required both my statement of account and admission letter but he has been telling me to exercise patience for the past 3months, please do you think its wise to write to the embassy and ask them about the application, secondly I don't have the application number, can I write them with my passport number and my DOB? Please I need intelligent answer. Th*nks
Some of these agencies can be funny @ times, that's how one of them left my grant in their Spam box for over a week. Back to your case, you didn't state whether your application is svp or not. If it is svp, it normally takes 3 weeks, if not, 3 months then is your normal duration. About your application, I'm not sure it is possible for visa application to be submitted by proxy, as you have to do your biometrics capturing yourself. Therefore, I feel you should have some other details that DIPB might require if you're contacting them. If you want to send them a mail, which can take them forever to reply (I sent them 2 emails within 4 days, no reply for over 3 weeks), you'll need your Full name, Passport number, Type of visa application, Date and method of lodgement. Their email is immigration.pretoria@dfat.gov.au. If you have the resources, I feel calling Pretoria is preferable, although you'll wait on the line for a while, I waited for almost 15 minutes, yours might be longer as the Feb rush might be a factor. If you call them, they'll request for your name and passport number only. Their number is +27124236060. They will tell you whether your visa application has been treated or not. Hope this helps.
PS. For the Telbo:
deleyi20:
This May help someone: I downloaded a Calling App called Telbo to my Android Smartphone. I used my visa card to recharge it with $10 and i use it for all international calls at an extremely cheap rate.

P/S: I last recharged it with $10 since March this year and i still have about $4 remaining. $1 talk-time to an Australian line can last almost 1-hour... All you need is a good internet connection and i usually share mobile hotspot from my Blackberry. cool cool
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Adetoi01(m):
If it is for your school fees deposit, it has been said "a million times" that Form A is the best option as the official exchange rate for the day is used. A little percentage is charged as commission, usually less than 3 percent of what you're paying. Talk to your bank. Hope this helps.
careerwoman:
hello everyone
Please which bank has reasonable exchange rates at the moment. I heard it varies and I need to do process an online transaction urgently. I use GTB master card frequently but their rates are becoming unreasonable. the euro is 261 naira as against 217 in Central bank. I know it is supposed to be more than the latter but the disparity is way too much with GTB.. Please I need help
Thank you

I didn't submit any account stuff to anybody. Neither the school nor DIPB requested for it. So far as you're SVP, the only thing you'll need to do is declare your financial capability when filling the 157A visa application form.
aceBlazer:
Really huh That'd be wonderful oh. But all my applications so far to schools, there hasn't been any requiring any account statement oh. Anyways...I would be glad to confirm this from as many as have scaled through that huddle and willing to throw more light on it.

Good morning all.

I want to thank you guys for the continuous support and words of encouragement. I used Pfl to apply for my visa. I'm a pharmacist and hence very busy schedule. That's why I jst left it to Pfl. That dint mean I dint follow up o or get involved.

Timeline: lodged my application on the 13th of November at teleperformance...got an automatic email reply that same day that my application had been sent to the visa centre. Heard nothing else till today.

Got my visa grant today 7th November, early this afternoon around 2pm ish.

Thank you guys once again.God bless kiss

PLEase can anyone help me with low tuition fees colleges or universities in australia, ?

what are the step by step procedures in applying to them, i dont wanna deal with thier agents in Nigeria seeing that i have fears that they are likely to make things difficult for applicants who arent financial bouyant

what do you think of vocational schools?
It has been said times without number that Australian schools ain't cheap/low tuition, so, I'll advice you surf the net for the courses you're interested in, or the courses with tuition that fit your needs. A site I can recommend is: http://www.studyportals.com, you can search for bachelor, masters, doctorate degrees there. I used this myself, you can check schools' ranking on http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2015.
About the processes, after you've found the school(s) you're interested in, go through their site to know the necessary documents needed, after which you apply. You'll usually pay about 100 dollars in application fees. Try and make sure your school is svp. If your admission is granted, you'll pay part of the tuition plus health insurance (OSHC), usually at least, 6k dollars, after which an eCoE will be granted. This is what you'll use to apply for visa. Then, apply for the visa. Tada! You're done.
About vocational schools, I have no idea.
Best wishes in your endeavours.

plx my gurus. can sumone apply for visa without submitting his ENGLISH proeficiency results ie ielts or toefl. coz my agent says its not compulsory to add ielts results. according to her i didnt make an over all band of 7 or more in my ielts result but i made an overall band of 6.5...... wit 6.0 in two bands.......nd also dat she didnt use it to secire my admission nd wouldnt also use it for visa applications. so plz i want to ask if dis development is normal.

has anyone got grants witout submitting his or her ielts

should i worry or not.

if i put it dat way will it raise a case against me from my CO..

I didn't submit any test on English. So, it should not be a problem, although the agent said my credit in English is sufficient, I don't know if that was put into consideration by DIPB. Also, the school stated in my eCoE that I didn't submit any test of English in my application but they are ok with my level of English. Hope that helps.

Can someone help me with the question below?
My offer from University of New Castle does not include Bank wire(Domiciliary account) as one of the payment options. Can i still go ahead to process my tuition payment through bank wire?
Contact the school and ask if you can pay using international transfer, if yes, get the bank details of the school and proceed to your bank of choice and make the payment using Form A. You can pay the naira equivalent. Hope this helps.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Adetoi01(m): 6:05am On Dec 04, 2015
What documentation did you contract to the agent.? School's or visa's? If school's, you should have completed the admission process yourself since it is just payment of school fees and CoE acceptance that was left. If visa's, you should have followed the guidelines on the 573 form, ask the house questions, as you'll definitely see people to work you through it.
Now, first case scenario, If your admission is still valid, say it is next year and it is still available (which can be confirmed directly from the school by email or by placing a call to the school), proceed to payment after which you'll use your CoE to process your visa.
Second case scenario, reapply for a new admission, you can do this yourself or use trusted agents (IMO, they secure admissions faster) after which the house can assist with the visa application. Note, if you've gone through this page, you'll know the visa application is not as complex as those agents make you feel, just a good sop, certified docs and a dose of prayer. Best wishes. PS. You can download Telbo and combine it with a good internet service to make your international calls, calls to Australia are charged 1¢ per minute (2 naira per minute). My 2cents.
