Its really funny how one player can go from below par to an absolutely fantastic player.
Lenglet has really improved, he's gone from the clumsy defender that got red carded early this season to benching Umtiti who everyone considers world class.

Benching?? Nah.Umtiti this season has been set back by Injury and the few times hes played after the injury has really seen him lose pace and coordination.Lenglet on the other hand is playing well and its only natural that you play your strongest team which Lenglet right now has the upper hand over Umtiti.Maybe,Umtiti playing the rest of the league will really bring back his confidence and pace

Dunno why guys are vexing.

We got the best result of the Quater finals 1st legs.

Of all the 4 games played Tuesday and Wednsesday we had the best result.

This is not the best result as we couldve easily closed this tie yesterday without creatinhg unecessary pressure.Given our form in recent weeks and with Man utd playing their worst games this season,we couldve easily scored 5 had it been we played atleast 70% of ourabilities and this is all down to Valverd

No way would we have lost to this Man united side no matter the kind of attacking football we play and wouldve scored up to 5 had we played 2/3 of our football.This wouldve really made us to start thinking about our opponents in the semi final since the tie and league wouldve been tied up by now.Experiment a little bit at Camp Nou without playing with unneceesary pressure.We now have to really tie things up at Camp Nou which to me shouldve been what we shouldve done last night

I really hate our casual approach to some games and should really be killing off games to make life much easier for us.Our away games in the champions league this season has really lacked that spark.This was identical to the Lyon game only that we scored today.If we injected half as much energy we used in playing teams like Betis and Levante away from home,we should have really dealt with this Man utd.This Man utd side were so poor and only good player they had today was Mctominay.Dude was winning duels and putting in tackles.Pogba couldnt even pass the ball to save his life and Young was crossing like a player playing for under 12.Nice game again by Semedo was really dribbling the entire game.Best match so far by Lenglet.Good overrall performance but we should really be bringing our A game away from home if we are to win this champions league

if we lose this champions league cup,then Valverde needs to be sacked.What kind of layed back approach is this??We are not creating chances.not countering,leaving acres of space and are playing as if we are playing Valladolid.We should be at least be hammering this Man utd side 4-0 right now.Semedo is ur best player on the pitch and Man of the match in my opinion.That Mctominay guy following closely.

Every Barca fan knows we lost to Betis AT HOME. Question is why: they counter-attacked us. Being sensible against them is not necessarily ceding possession hoping to counter them. If this was a 2-leg tie Betis will be happy to play that way. Winning papers over cracks in a way people will not see potential pitfalls to playing a certain unhealthy way. Nah.When Messi scored,Betis played better.They pressed us so well in that first half that we were all over the place.I was even saying that we needed a Gerard Pique to calm things down.There was a ball Lenglet lost that Valverde very unhappy with.He was visibly angry and i even thought Lenglet has returned to playing rubbish.But things kind of calmed down.As the players started gaining that control of the game,2 chances were created in 10 minutes or so and shouldve been two goals.This is the same thing that happened away to Levante.When the Home team presses and creates those chances,the pklayers tend to be a little bit disorganised.But when they settle,they actually control and outplay the opposition

If You dont see that Vidal has been a more important signing for us than Arthur then i have no words for you.Arthur still has a lot to learn as he has age on his side.I think this was his best game in a minute but he still struggles with highly physical and fast paced games as he lost a couple of balls and was not composed when pressed high.Another is that in highly paced game,he still lacks that Xavi's ability to control the pace of the game.I think the club should personally call on Xavi to mentor both him and De Jong as they are the perfect combination.

Vidal on the other hand was a beast.Winning balls and making tackles.Sprinting forward and backwards and covered the entire pitch.The only downside is him playing a possession game as that is not really his style.Every time he passes the ball,it looks so awkward and looks as if hes going to lose the ball.But apart from that,hes giving us that rigidity and backbone and i hope he continues this way

I like how everybody is saying VVD is the best defender in the world and ignoring Pique. VVD is very good no doubt but Pique over the past 4 months or so has been very solid and reliable and has been our pillar at the back.Hes up there with VVD but he will not receive much praise cause Messi is in the team and of course,this is la liga not England where the the press who assclick Madrid will not hype him up because he's antimadrid.Hes showed consistency and shrugged off that poor form he had earlier in the season and has taken Lenglet under his wings and has thought him how to defend,something VVD is struggling to do at Liverpool.To me,he's the best defender in the world

I have seen him play and he's what we really need.His conversion rate is very high,He moves like a typical No 9 striker and doesnt miss opportunities at all.His former club and Milan don't have enough creativity but he still puts the ball at the back of the net.A Messi behind him would really be very deadly and the thing is that he can offer us that off the ball movement Suarez offers.Hes a perfect Suarez replacement and just needs to be taugh how to play our way

I Will so much like us to go for Piatek.Dude reminds me so much of Klose.Hes a pure 9 and a proven goal scorer.He's movement in the box is so unmatched and all he needs is that service and he will produce goals.Hes a hard worker and with Messi and a good technical coach that will teach him how to move outside the box without the ball,,dude will bang in goals for us

Simeone is arguably the best manager in Europe.Dude gives confidence to effing players.And he takes under performing players under his wings.You won't see him criticising his players and only makes news due to his field antics and not off field. Players like Torrens,Morata,Costa.No wonder players want to play for him.Morata has scored 4 goals (2 Cancelled) under him.He now converts.Respect to Simeone

Lol.Am not talking about 1 or 2 instances.Of course he came out on a couple of occasions.Am talking about the match in a whole.I could show you plenty of screenshots of Pique just sitting in that his role and just clearing the ball.Roberto did his home work very well most of the match as he was not really found wanting.Hence no need of Pique coming out to help him.Again remember that did he come out to help him as you are tying to say,he wouldn't have made that much clearances he made in the match

I said he played mainly 442 with Paulinho in the team and that Vidal is an upgrade because Paulinho didn't fit into the 443 formation unlike Vidal.But we played 442 yesterday when we were attacked and 433 when we were on the offensive

The team as a whole was defensively better in this game, and Roberto was not isolated as Semedo was.

To be fair, attack is the best form of defense, and Roberto did great overall. He seems to play his best games in the Clasico.

Because Vin was busy crossing the ball instead of shooting.He only shot twice in the 2nd half despite having tons of spaces and the ball.Infact one of the shots was that mistake from Rakitic.All Roberto had to do was just make him go and cross the ball and Pique will clear it.It was as simple as that.It was Barca's game plan.Trust me if we decided that he was not going to have the ball in that match,Vidal wouldve been brought earlier on and Vinicus won't have even played any crosses.But since Madrid insisted on giving him the ball all the time,it was wise for Roberto to allow him time and space on the ball as the he knew he wasn't going to do anything with it

you guys are seriously underestimating Vidal. I used to do the same too. I thought he simply ran around committing fouls. It's only in recent games I've understood his purpose. Every player have their role. Vidal is more of a Rakitic and Busquets kind of player, do the dirty work and sometimes don't get any recognition.

Arthur cannot do the work Vidal does. That's why Arthur always plays with Rakitic and Vidal. For all his expertise at passing and holding on to the ball, he isn't that great defensively. That's why EV does not play Arthur and Coutinho together in midfield.

Thank you very much for this.Someone who really sees what Vidal does to this team.He does the dirty work of the team but of course such players don't get the accolade they deserve.Arthur is for games we need to control the tempo and pace of the game.Hes not needed ahead of Vidal against teams that requires aggression.Athletico Madrid game is the perfect example where Arthur was bullied off the ball a lot.Vidal came in and things changed a lot for us in that game.But of course,people won't see it

See,we mostly play 2 systems.433 Flat in which Busquet,Arthur and Rakitic play as 3 CMs and 433 in which Busquets plays as DM, Rakitic as CM and Vidal as Box to Box.When Arthur was playing before he got injured,Busquet wasn't really on top of his game as he played as a CM instead of his DM role.And remember that we conceded a lot then and lost a couple of games with Arthur ahead of Vidal in that line up.But since he got injured and Vidal came in,Busquet has really improved as he has gone back to that DM role and we have not really lost any game and has conceded less even though the team's form has generally dipped.You can't underestimate what Vidal brings to the table

I laugh in swahili...Let's see how Vidal 'll surprise us. Vidal is Willian's version of a midfielder right now... they're are the busiest on the pitch.. heat map 'll be showing them everywhere, but when you check deeper than those stats, they've been doing nothing.

He doesn't need to surprise anybody as he has either played very good or very bad.No in betweens so i dont really see any extra ordinary performance hes going to put in.And most of the times he's really been in his game,he has put in that 2015 Juventus performance.As i already said,him being busy is covering Semedo.

If you watched Vidal at Juventus.Then,you will know he likes sprinting into the box to challenge for balls.Thats not what he does in this team.Hes job is to stop teams from attacking and as i said,he's doing it very well

First off, i didn't say not to give credit to Roberto, my point is that the whole defensive unit put in a collective shift, Roberto was just a piece in a much larger puzzle, a small piece even.

Also, it seems you're getting your timeline mixed up. Pique came out more in this game than he did in the first leg. The few times pique had anything to do with vinicius in the first leg were times when he had wanted to cut in and go directly at goal. Yesterday we saw pique come out alot to keep vini at bay. Now pique is slow AF but he has an excellent gift of timing. His well timed sliding tackles provided several clearances yesterday(he made 14 of those to be precise).

Also, for much of the first leg it was semedo against reguilon and Vini. Remember, Roberto was supposed to support semedo but semedo got very little help. I don't know a lot of right backs that can successful keep a team of double-tagging, young, energetic wingers at bay. Heck! Even Dani alves was taken to the cleaners by effing onyekuru.
For all the fuss being made against semedo's 1st leg performance, he reduced vinicius' attempts to just a shot on target. For all the times he was dribbled past, he almost always recovered to make timely blocks. He made 2 blocks to prevent a goal. For comparisons sake, Roberto made 0 blocks yesterday, lenglet made four and pique made 3.

Although Roberto made some good interceptions yesterday, his job was made much more easier with help from pique, rakitic and a very industrious Vidal. This is not to sleep on Roberto, he was massive yesterday, easily one of the best players on the night.

Pique came out more?? How did he come out more when he was busy blocking shots in the first half and dude made 14 clearances the whole game.Rakitic didn't when cover Roberto that much in the whole game.What he did very well was not to allow that 2 v 1 from Vinicus and Ruggilion against Roberto. Pique got his position very right.Yes Roberto didn't do very well in that Rakitic position in the second leg but he made Vin play crosses this time around.All in all it was a very solid game

We needed a forward n a midfield controller in that match cos Busi was just returning from injury n ini was so old n weak, what can a Vidal do in that scenario? This 442 isn't taking us beyond la liga. We don't need to be dreaming about ini n xavi, we just need people that can control the midfield in a 3man midfield. Then 3 forwards, Vidal has no place in this team, it'll probably take valverde another year to realise this as usual... ala paulinho n malcom now.

We lost that game because of Valverde and Valverde alone.He messed up that champions league match and if had put up that Stamford Bridge performance we won't have lost that game at all. But with Paulinho,we went almost unbeaten and lost only 3 games all season. Controlling the midfield alone won't win us the champions league.We didn't need to completely boss the midfield against Chelsea but we knocked them out.Thats what we need Vidal for

When we had Busi, Raki n Arthur in the middle like vs spurs first leg, then ousmanne, luisito n Leo upfront. This is barca's strongest line up, but unfortunately, our mini mourinho is always scared.

Mini Mourinho??Lmao Won't call him mini Mourinho when he comes to his midfield selections though.Its just his substitutions and front 3 especially consistently playing Suarez is where he is.

I can't really convince you to like Vidal though but to say he contributes nothing is really laughable

When Iniesta was here, we played ini, raki n Busi, under same long nose valverde, raki cm, ini Am, Busi dm... Paulinho often came from the bench. Vidal offers nothing going forward, then offers yellow card at the back...passing sef, he's too average. It is what it is.

What was then the function of Paulinho?? It was Paulinho,Rakitic and Busquet.He started most of our games.But Vidal is really an upgrade from him as Paulinho only functioned very well in the 442 formation but Vidal can function in both.And with Paulinho we weren't flexible as we were rigid but with Vidal it's different.You have to understand that we are no more playing the Iniesta and Xavi kind of football and have to come to terms that players that do not have our DNA can equally function very well in this club

What?? Valverde's formation has always been a Box to Box,a DM and a CM. Yes,that control has lacked but defensively we have conceded less even in most recent games we have played really badly. Games Vidal played badly has seen us really shake at the back. Real Valladolid and Athletico Bilbao matches are example of those
