Politics › Re: Nigeria At Risk Over Falling Oil Price : FG by Adminisher: 2:58am On Nov 17, 2014
pekeyim:
They just noticed? A trend that has been anticipated long before now, with Shale oil and new oil discoveries found almost everywhere in Africa and Reservoirs that were seen as unprofitable are now profitable.
Global Economic growth is shrinking, even the Manufacturing power house like China's economic growth forecast has reduced. If the Supply for Oil outwit it demand greatly prices will drop. Gas supply also has increased from LNG plants across the globe. But even for 2015 budget we still pegged the price of Crude Oil above $75 per barrel. Even in an election year. That's sickening to say the least, plus a Military budget of close to 1 trillion this year in review and we still had to take a loan of $1billion dollars. Having 2 ministers in a Ministry, the National Assembly and Senate keep voting huge cash to themselves for sitting.

We all see where we are Heading!!!
That's Dumbo economics for you. There is no brain power to manage austerity with this president. Okonjo is going away in May, 2015, Aganga, Adesina and maybe Mobola Johnson. All of them have better stiff to do internationally.
If Dumbo wins then the government will be in the hands of some unknown profligate oafs led by an intellectually challenged president and the worst might just happen to this country.

DIVINE78:
Tinubu is just so brilliant.
No wonder graduated in flying colors in USA back in the days.

Jonathan Swift was so right when he quipped...
"When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him".
Good idea but inflation go dey plenty which can be ameliorated by a developed agric sector.
Politics › Re: Slump In Oil Prices: A Progressive Way Out By Bola Tinubu by Adminisher: 11:04pm On Nov 16, 2014
This is a good idea. Inflationary yes, dependent on careful choice of the right sectors yes. Thank God we have a vibrant agric sector that can grow exports. We need to revamp the steel sector and ensure local infrastructural projects use only local products. Reduce cost of governance by 50%. The one man you dont want in the presidency.in this kind of fiscal regime is GEJ. The complexity and need for discipline would be too much for him

Accepted who back?
After the war, Gowon said all the Igbo should submit all their money (Biafra pounds ) to the bank, so it can be converted back into naira and handed back to them. After all the money has been submitted to the bank, the amount every one was given back was twenty pounds (20), thereby impoverishing an entire tribe!
From wikipedia

How did the Igbo become billionaires again, mystery sad
Fake drugs, Otokoto, Okija Shrines.

davitogreat:
i find it funny that he is talking about the Naira being Stronger under Abachas Regime.
I guess he does not know that the naira never followed market levels and was grossly overvalued under Abacha's regime and it was a way Abacha and his cronies could make quick cash on the heads of the masses.

http://www.economist.com/node/273201
So your evidence for overvaluation is the Ecinomist'S view?. That is sad. You need to do some resesrch into what constitutes an acceptable exchange rate if the economist's view had been N300 to $1 maybe you would have accepted it as well. The excyange rate is what you wajt it to be depending on what your economic programne idls to be.

We disagree. We know how to apply critical faculties to what Sahara Reporters publishes same for DHQ who have lied to us six times in the last six months. No need for boycott, they are actually more credible than some other media

Politics › Re: A $250m Question: Can The Akwa Ibom International Stadium Become Profitable? by Adminisher: 10:30pm On Nov 15, 2014
Two things are required:
1. Business development office to attract business and line up matches from the National and African leagues
2. Music events attracted to the stadium by BDO.
3. Facility Management company to provide cheap maintenance for the stadium.

What is humility here?. Everybody bows or squats to traditional rulers. A Dad prostrates to his son when he becomes an Oba in Yoruba land.
Politics › Re: Please, Don’t Insult Us With Jonathan’s Failure – Dipo Famakinwa by Adminisher: 2:42pm On Nov 15, 2014
The comment that wins the prize is: '' He stopped the fuel queues''.

That one is sad. As if there should have been the queues in the first place. Jonathan stopped it but the refineries are in worse shape. So the price for us is a permanence robbery of the poor by the rich. Now that the oil price is down to $73, there won't be much following exchange to import fuel yet they will try to keep at the pump will constant then the revolution that will come will be so destructive people may not recognize the country anymore.

he doesn't understand politics ,he became a deputy governor. He doesn't understand politics, he became a governor. He doesn't understand politics, he became a vice president. He doesn't understand politics he is the nigeria president now. He doesn't understand politics ,and yet he is about to win his second term in office as the president of nigeria. If not understanding politics will make me climb the ladder of achievement like this within the same time frame gej ,then I don't want to understand politics. Those that understand politics spend all their hours and days on nairaland without making any political headway in life. Whether we like it or not there is no single nigerian politician that climbed the ladder of political success like gej.
This is exactly why he is president. The people who made him VP expected him to spend 8years or at least 4 years to learn from Yaradua l, however God thought otherwise so here we are. I think the man has been slow in learning anyway and it is getting costly in human lives and money.

Everybody knows the weakness of this 'local' man we call President. His staff should try to defend him within the limit of their professional capabilities but to go on the airwaves and lie to the people is very bad.

Politics › Re: Government Directs Police To “Screen” Vigilante Groups In North East by Adminisher: 11:07am On Nov 14, 2014
I support this move from the.President even though i am not his supporter. No serious government will allow a militia to do the job of its Army. Buhari would definitely not allow it. The northern state governors are the ones setting up these new militias to destroy Boko Haram. Boko Haram days are numbered with these militias who will use all means to decimate them. The question is what happens after Boko Haram with these young men probably up to 30000 running free. Even the Nigerian Army would not allow this.challenge to.its constitutional power and that is very dangerous.

Encomium for a thief. Only in Nigeria. I am in support of the stadium,, it can earn Akwa Ibom major $$$$s for a long time but it should still come up for probe in the future. Nigerians require more intellectual depth in assessing politicians.

Politics › Re: Oil Slump: Another American Destabilization Ploy by Adminisher: 8:42am On Nov 13, 2014
The currently low oil price is Saudi Arabia's doing with some US and European complicity. Shale oil production is expensive so it is going to affect the profits of many American producers as well. Whatever happens the world economy is going to improve by at 5% due to the oi pric reduction.
Politics › Re: Nigeria To Buy Arms From Russia by Adminisher: 7:52am On Nov 13, 2014
This is the most unserious govt in the history of Nigeria. They wasted 6 months begging the US for arms, another 6 months sponsoring articles in newspapers lambasting the US for not selling arms now we are on the 6months of telling us they are 'going to' buy from Russia. There is a subsisting order for helicopters and maybe tanks, so which one is this new one. All this is just posturing to award procurement contracts to the Aurthur Ezehs, cronies of IBB and share the money between Senators and PDP top shots. THIEVES profitting from blood money.
