Politics › Re: Poor Buhari; Enemies Are Using Online Polls To Decieve Him And His Supporters. by Adminisher: 5:24pm On Oct 19, 2014
RedEboe:
If anyone thinks that a Remo Omokri will (for the fun of it) create an online poll that he doesnt have firm control over, then that person is a compound ------(fill in the blank).

Once again, some people are taking advantage of Buhari's political naivety to mislead him and his handlers. Some projections were posted online where it was even suggested that Buhari will pick 70% of South-west votes including Lagos. I am not a statistician but I do know for a fact that come rain, come shine LAGOS WILL STICK WITH GEJ, they don't necessarily like him but will everly pick him over a Buhari.

Many Buhari supporters are forgetting that the PDP may in fact be controlling over 40% of the South-west with Ekiti and Ondo in the kitty.

These online projections are designed to make Buhari sit back, relax and start day-dreaming of Aso-rock instead of aggressively pursuing a grassroot political campaign.

TAN alone and their members have the capacity (and resources) to create hundreds of online polls where GEJ will win by 100% but they are not even bothered.

Internet savvy PDP supporters have most likely been directed to keep voting for Buhari online and promote this whole internet sensation for ONE REASON, it helps in alienating Atiku Abubakar-that's one major opponent down.

Once APC 'foolishly' succumbs to these online polls/projections and picks Buhari, the PDP will start its massive campaign, the most elaborate in Nigerian history.

We are just in October, a lot will happen in the next three months.

So please, APC fans be wise and help your party field a younger/sellable presidential candidate that though may not win in 2015 but will create a huge impact that will make a victory for APC in 2019 almost inevitable.

This is my opinion.

PS: I am a trained Political Scientist.

Business › Re: FG To Spend N1 Trillion On Petrol Subsidy In 2015 by Adminisher: 1:15pm On Oct 19, 2014
Johnnyessence:
The Federal Government is to spend the sum of
N971 billion to subsidise the supply of petrol to
Nigerians in 2015, an indication that the
administration has no plan to do away with
subsidising petrol.
In the same vein, the government plans to give out
a total of N260 million to the Subsidy Reinvestment
Programme, SURE-P, for intervention in various
development agencies.
This is contained in the 2015-2017 Medium Term
Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy paper,
which President Goodluck Jonathan sent to the
National Assembly for approval as the basis for the
2015 budget.
According to the document, which Vanguard
obtained Thursdayt, the government expects to
receive fabulous revenue of N7.164 from oil and
gas while the sum of N3.2 billion from non-oil
revenue sources within the year.
Overall, the administration is expecting N11.1
billion as total federally collectible revenue for
2015, as against the projection of N10.894 for the
current year.
Of its oil revenue, according to Jonathan, the sum
of N858.59 billion will be spent as its contribution
to the cost of oil production while N209 billion will
go to National Domestic gas development and N78
billion set aside for Gas infrastructure development.
In the letter he addressed to the leadership of the
National Assembly, Jonathan admitted that the oil
sector was not witnessing new investments due to
uncertainty occasioned on the non-passage of the
Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB.
Jonathan explained that the oil benchmark of $78
pb was predicated on the projected balance
between increasing global supply resulting from
rising oil and unconventional oil production, and
production disruptions that may might result from
geopolitical risks.
The President said: “Our proposal is also driven by
the need to be cautious in our revenue projections
given the volatile nature of oil prices and the need
to rebuild our fiscal buffers, which have been very
useful in periods of revenue shocks”. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/fg-spend-n1-trillion-petrol-subsidy-2015/
They can only chop for just on quarter, when Buhari enters in April everything will be probed.

anyway less we digress, why is FASH not contesting as the main Presidential aspirant? at least there is a general agreement by all that he has something to offer with better record of governance than Buhari.
my friend i will vote for Fashola anyday against GEJ but why why and why is he being fielded as second fiddle to a man accused of being a MUSLIM JIHADIST with moslem brotherhood like tendencies?
The answer is implicit in your post. The answer is that the muslin jihadist toga on Buhari is false.

Very good talk. Excellence trumps all. How can a corrupt government be good for the SE/SS whatever the tribe the president is from?. GEJ is in power now, what has been done for the SS/SE?. It is my Yoruba people who are doing the big deals in NNPC, laundering money for ministers and buying private jets. They want to pull wool over peoples's eyes. To be fair the PDP government has some very good ministers but the Presidency is under the full control of a cabal made up of people from all the regions stealing the resources of the people behind a president who is the most 'blank' in the history of Nigeria, even his supporters agree with that. I say let us take our country back, the Niger Delta has proven that it has a seat in the corridors of power by having GEJ winning the 2011 elections. He is even expected to do a little well in the SW and NC so all tribal domination conspiracy theories have been debunked. Let us now talk merit and issues.

It's obvious these guys are not after our wellbeing. They are just hell bent on taking over power. Every statement of theirs has to do with ousting the present government. They should be careful lest Nigerians would sense their desperation. I detest desperate politicians.

Thus far, I would say Atiku has been the most matured opposition politician I've observed. His twitter statement concerning the ceasefire deal/chibok girls negotiation is very matured. I hope his party alongside his fellow aspirants would tow his line
Jonathan is the one after your wellbeing abi?. A clueless president that allowed BokoHaram to kill human beings like goats in the streets. The worst and most ineffectual president in the history of the third world. I still recall the last bombing in Abuja and a young Ibo girl in her early twenties, with the worst degree burns and she was still alive but dying slowly, shouting weakly, ..help me, help me. Is that the kind of man who should be governing human beings?. If the man wins again how are we going to face the world when they already know he is the worst African leader. All African country leaders have even started disrespecting Nigeria because of this man...mtcheww

Justcash:
I am writing this piece without political affiliation. I foresee some horrifying occurrences if Jonathan is voted out of power in 2015.

1. AN ENERGIZED MEND WILL RETURN TO THE CREEKS WITH RENEWED VIGOR TO DESTROY NIGERIA ONCE AND FOR ALL

2. I ADVISE NIGERIANS TO BRACE UP FOR ECONOMIC DOWNTURN, BECAUSE IN A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE LOSS OF GEJ, OIL PRODUCTION WILL BE REDUCED TO ZERO AND NIGERIA'S ECONOMY WILL TAKE A TUMBLE

3. THE NEW GOVERNMENT WILL BE BUSY FIGHTING MILITANCY FOR THE DURATION OF THEIR TENURE, JUST TO STABILIZE THE ECONOMY AND FIND FUNDS TO EMBARK ON DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

4. THE WAR IN THE NORTH EAST WILL BE A JOKE COMPARED TO THE WAR THAT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE NIGER-DELTA. HAVING LEARNT FROM BOKO HARAM, MEND WILL CAPTURE AND CLAIM VITAL (OIL HUBS) TERRITORIES

5. THE DEBT PROFILE OF NIGERIA WILL INCREASE TO AN UNPRECEDENTED LEVEL DUE TO GOVERNMENT'S RESORT TO BORROWING AND SHORT-FALLS IN THE ECONOMY

6. NIGERIA'S GDP WILL TAKE A TUMBLE

7. THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION BY THE NEW GOVERNMENT WILL BE VIEWED FROM AN ETHNO-RELIGIOUS ANGLE AS A WITCH-HUNT, AND ETHNO-RELIGIOUS DIVISIONS WILL WIDEN

8. THE THREAT OF DIVISION WILL BE MORE APPARENT THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN AS COUNTER-MILITANCY SOLUTIONS WILL BE ADOPTED BY NIGERIAN ETHNIC GROUPS

9. I SEE A NEW REGIONAL AND POLITICAL SYSTEM BEING PROPOSED TO REDUCE ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS BASED SUSPICION, WHICH WILL BE OPPOSED BY A CERTAIN REGION

10. NIGERIA WILL BECOME MORE EXPOSED TO FOREIGN INTERFERENCE

Most Nigerians don't know how dicey the political situation in Nigeria is. Nigeria is in a stalemate. 2015 will indeed redefine Nigeria in all ramifications. I PRAY FOR MY DEAR COUNTRY.
You must be smoking something really bad to have posted this trash. You have just ridiculed our democracy with this trash. So MEND will be allowed to subvert the free expression of our fundamental human right of voting in an elected government. This is a very weak argument to compel us to support GEJ. Maybe you guys already know now that he will lose the popular vote. The Niger Delta is part of Nigeria and the most dependent one at that. The naval blockade and air strikes on MEND installations will affect the region and cause untold hardship on the ND peoples. Starvation will be used as a weapon of war, disease and criminality will ensue. Women and Children will bear the full brunt. Civil society will cease to function. I don't think you have thought about the effects of what you are suggesting properly. This idiotic argument can also be extended to even 2019 as well and you are more or less saying GEJ may as well do ten terms in office. Please stop smoking bad stuff and reason properly.
Politics › Re: Visions Of A Buhari Presidency In 2015 by Adminisher: 4:18pm On Oct 18, 2014
Aksonman:
I had a major 'spiritual' encounter last night and saw visions of what Nigeria will look like if Buhari is allowed to become President.

- General Buhari is sworn in on May 29, 2015 with Rotimi Amaechi as his Vice President. Why Amaechi? Well, he stood as guarantor for the General's N27m loan from Unity Bank to procure APC form.

- Eagle square is jampacked with kaftan wearing supporters; the entire inuguration event is conducted in English and Hausa; a mini-dubar is organized. The entire podium is filled with Turbaned Emirs.

- Dissolution of federal executive cabinet with the setting up of a committee to probe all ministeries once headed by Christain Southerners. A few other Southern ministers will run to Tinubu for help to avoid sack, probe or investigation.

- Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will constitute Buhari's core economic think tank with Fashola playing a pivotal role. All existing agreements, allocations and projects for lands and properties in the FCT will be suspended. New (Tinubu owned) companies from Lagos will be invited to come bid for management of these suspended projects.

- Street begging with return to Abuja and Lagos in full force.

- Vice President Amaechi will be appointed as head of new committee to invesigate fuel subsidies and low capacity of major refineries. There will be major fuel scarcity for months after which Buhari's government will decide to issue new fuel import licences to oil companies, recommended or owned by Tinubu, Okorocha and Amaechi.

- The modern Almajiri school system created by former President Jonathan will be abolished with these school converted to unity schools and opened "to all Nigerians". Southerners and middle beltans will flood these schools while their original inhabitants- the Almajiri's will return to the streets.

I'll update these visions when or if I recieve more revelations from the most high.

Anyone doubting these visions?
This is a faulty vision. What did you eat for dinner?. I only agree with the part about Tinubu but there are countervailing actors to prevent any hanky panky from that quarter. I think a GMB presidency will strengthen our economy and develop the north. Oil theft will disappear, the niger delta will start developing, international oil and gas companies will pay correct taxes, corruption will go, Nigeria will earn new respect, refineries will start working, the armed forces will be strengthened, armed robbery will reduce, our girls will stop runs...et.c. We will take our country back from the Objs, GEJ's, Anenih s and other satanic forces. Even Ribadu will come back home.

The idea that Christian northerners are for GEJ is very WRONG. Who has been lying to you?. This people are asking themselves even now what did Jonathan do for them when their Churches were being bombed. What about the deep tribal linkages that transcend religion?. What about the Catholic Church that is already blaming GEJ for mis managing security? What about CAN that is already divided? SE states: GEJ 99.9%, Buhari 0.01%
SS states: For C/River, Bayelsa,Delta, A/Ibom GEJ 99%, Buhari 1%, for Edo and Rivers: GEJ 70%Buhari 30%.
SW states: Lagos:GEJ 60 Buhari 40%, Other SW state 50:50.
NW states: GEJ 40% Buhari 60%
NC State: GEJ 55% Buhari 45%
NE State: GEJ 50% Buhari 50%

The election results will swing in favour of who d Igbos vote massively for.
The SE has a 99% Igbo Population.
Rivers is dominated by Igbos so expect a GEJ dominance, d 30% who'll vote for Buhari would b those manipulated by Amaechi.30% Vote for Buhari in Edo state represents d Muslim population in d state.
GEJ Can get up to 60% in Lagos cos 40% of Lagosians are of SE/SE + 50% of Yorubas in Lagos are xtians who would nt fansy a muslim-muslim APC ticket.
50:50 for d rest of SW bc of d 10-20% Igbo population and near 50:50 Xtian:Muslim ratio.
The NC has a 50:50 Xtian:Muslim population + a near 20% of igbo population and this gives GEJ d edge.
Good luck can score cheap points in d NE with d war against BH so its 50:50 for both candidates here.
NW belongs to Buhari and his CPC but with d high igbo population living in dat region GEJ can wrestle out 30-40%.
This is so wrong.
Most Christians in the SW are against GEJ because of corruption and insecurity. NE, NC and NW are for Buhari traditionally, Christian and Muslim, there is the religion issue but there is also tribalism, please be realistic. Igbos have never determined the course of any elections. Go and check your history. Igbos in the SW and the North mostly don't have voters cards and the few that have will go home to vote because of the likelihood of election violence with the possible exception of Lagos. GEJ may never poll up to 25% in Ekiti in spite of Fayose, but will win about 34% of Lagos because the Yoruba middle class has some admiration for some of his economic reforms. Rivers is not dominated by Ibos politically - Ogonis, Kalabari and lately Ikwerres are now anti GEJ, forward thinking people are also asking themselves what happens after 2019, that is why you see the Amaechis building a national profile for themselves instead of dying in the same party with a president who has only four years in office (maybe). Go and do your research on ground. Buhari has majority following in Kano and has always carried the two most populous States in Nigeria.
I am still counting 21 States Buhari, 15 States Jonathan.

what's your take on that?
GEJ will win only the ND minus Rivers. He might win some middle belt states. He is sure to lose all the SW states including Ekiti. The entire North is for Buhari.

I'm sure many of you knew that Nigeria means "Nigeria Area". But what you all may not know is what the word Niger means. I just learned that that word means darkness. That means Nigeria means "Darkness Area". Is that why we've not been able to sort the power problem? Or do you think that the name has had adverse effect on our country?
Nigeria does not mean Niger Area. The thought of the area around the Niger inspired the name all right thanks to Lord Lugard's girl friend.
However the hidden meaning of the name can be got by separating out the 'Niger' from the word. Niger in the bible and the ancient world means 'black'. Then you will find the meaning simply is..." Land of the Black People".

FastShipping: Atiku was there with Obasanjo and he looted the treasury. I rather have GEJ there than to see Atiku there.
Atiku is the smartest politician in Nigeria.
I cannot vote for him personally but he is smarter than Obasanjo, IBB and far far smarter than GEJ.
He is also exceedingly corrupt and it was after he started looting that Obj actually joined in, primarily to raise money to bribe NASS who were always threatening impeachment and to buy the second and third terms and much later to settle his retirement issues.
Now this statement about sacking Diezani is deliberately targeted at a particular section of the electorate and will achieve the right effect.
Atiku is also extremely powerful in the South East, is loved by many S.E politicians, has an old inderground structure in the South West and has been known to spring surprises outside his north east zone.
So Buhari should watch it at any APC primaries and GEJ should watch it at the national General elections.

Oklander: It will be interesting to have a presidential debate and rebuttal before this election, especially now that there's a very strong opposition party. The ruling party is seeking for re-election while the opposition is trying hard to be elected. They should come to the platform where the candidate of the ruling party will tell Nigerians what they have done to better the life of Nigerians in aspects of security, corruption, power supply etc. within the last four years of their tenure with convincing proofs and what they will do when reelected while the opposition candidates should tell us what and how they would tackle Nigerians problem if elected.

How about that?
GEJ will never ever debate anybody. Wetin, u na wan kill person?. His own politics never reach like that. To articulate concepts and express them clearly is not his strong suit, neither is executive ability, neither is understanding of social issues, neither is a clear ideological standpoint. In fact neither is anything. So national debate?, No.
