funken: if you can afford, buy the mppt charge controllers that have been given decent enough reviews on this thread - Fangpusun, Epever etc comes to mind In addition, batteries need to be babysitted. You need to pay good attention to your batteries. What depth of discharge do you normally see? How often does it get a full charge? What is the cut-off voltage of your inverter? What charging current do you see during the day when there is sun? Etc, Etc. Solar or even ordinary inverter backup is not a "set and forget" thing. Even where things are properly and adequately set up, there is still a need to look in occasionally and be sure that things are going great. Anyone with a serious system should invest in some automatic monitoring system that can alert you to impending trouble. |

DUNKA: Buyers eyes are now very open and are more informed of various choices available for breaking the yoke of darkness unlike in the past where shylocks prey on people's quest to provide light. Even now there is one notorious marketer that does not have a website but is touting himself as the so called number online store, lol .
He has refused to change his price gouging and high press sales tactics but I am sure he us feeling the side effects now His high pressure sales tactics is why I have never bought anything from him. A few times I have called him for possible purchases, I'm put off by his insistence that some others are calling him for the same goods and I have to pay immediately or I will not get it. |

olaolu11: The advertised costs/prices are always at variance with price out there. If this platform is more of a DIY, then someone is reeling you off. Dog eats dog life That is largely true and it is because many "dealers" here are just middle men trying to make a living on enthusiasts who don't want to go to the market. I almost paid for 300W flame solar panels here until my local installer got them for me from Alaba for about 10K lower. What they do is to advertise goods in other people's shops as their own. It is the reason why they also try to put people under pressure to pay fast as the "stock is small". I personally would have preferred that this place is reserved for hobbyists and enthusiasts while marketers and middle men set up their own thread. |

olatade: yes sir, it has the battery selector switch behind it. it's set on 'tubular' presently. This may not be enough. Check the voltage of the inverter when you are doing bulk charging and make sure it is high enough. In addition, flooded batteries require occasional equalizing. Does this inverter have equalization settings? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 9:10pm On May 04, 2019 |
earthrealm: that luminous inverter, does it have battery selector switch?, i don't think so, based on that ,, those your flooded batteries are not being charged well, and will have a shortened lifespan, you need an inverter that is capable of charging flooded batts On point. Your bulk voltage may need to be as high as 29.2V and you need up to 31V to equalize your battery occasionally. So, a stock, non-adjustable luminous inverter will sulfate your batteries in the next few months. Get an inverter with adjustable voltage setpoints or sell your flooded batteries and by GEL/AGM ones. |

apparently you haven't been following posts here on this thread. the protek water heater is not exactly what it is advertised to be. besides being easily susceptible to leaks, there's supposed to be a 3 year warranty on the product which the vendors never have the intention of honoring. and, did i mention that it is a white label....? earthrealm: @nonoski, what are the cons of the outback flexman, what should a potential buyer beware of?, have you used another tier 1 cc, like morning star, how does the outback compare against them? I started my solar journey with Morningstar Tristar MPPT 60A. I stopped using them after losing two back to back. First one was my fault. I was working on my system one afternoon with blazing sun. I did not realise that I must connect battery to the Tristar before connecting the PV. So, I connected the PV and the Tristar gave me the magic smoke and fire. It was burnt. So, I put money together and bought a replacement. By then I have learnt my lesson, except the part of the syllabus I did not cover. So, one evening, my house was struck by lightning. The Tristar went out, along with a Must Inverter. Since then, I have stayed away from Morningstar and cut over to Outback and Midnite Classic which have served me well for many years now. I also got some lightning protector devices. |

nonoski: Don't waste ur money continue to use ur system the way it is.
I currently have 2 Outback Flexmax 80, they are both connected to 600AH 48v battery battery bank.
1 of the Outback (CC1) is connected to a 4.5kw solar array While the 2nd (CC2) is connected to a 2.25kw solar array.
CC1 usually goes into absorb by 1pm and then float while CC2 continues on bulk all day long
I reduced the settings on CC2 slightly so now it goes into absorb some hrs after CC1 goes into absorb.
I have decided to leave it at that.
Ps: u can't compare Outback performance to Fangpusun even duh they look alike
Attached is a picture of log from 5 days ago
Pic 2 is CC1 Pic 3 is CC2 Thanks for your response. |

Hello my people, Does anyone who has used outback FM 60 or 80 has any experience with Fangpusun clones? I have a setup with an Outback FM80 and a Midnite Classic 150. Sometimes, either of the CC go into float while one is still in bulk. So, I'm tempted to buy another outback hoping that two outbacks will work together better. But, I was wondering if I should buy the cheaper Fangpusun since they appear to be 1:1 clone of outback. Any thoughts is appreciated. |

pchukwudi: In other words, you are telling us that MANY of the original results that INEC announced at the polling units were useless? And such original results were corrected (changed) at the collation centers as opposed to canceling or rerunning the poling unit election? Wow! This is eye opening. You guys should keep it up. Of course, it was an option. We could have cancelled every results where the corpers made simple arithmetic errors like having 1, 2, 3, 4 missing/extra votes, instead of working with them and party agents present at the collation centres to find the mistakes and correct them. If we had taken this route, the entire election would have been cancelled. Maybe when you become INEC chairman you will cancel elections because someone mistakenly omitted 1 vote scored by MAJA party and therefore could not balance his figures at the Collation Centre. |
Politics › Re: Presidential Election: The Real Number Of Votes I Scored In Each State – Atiku by adrusa: 10:41pm On Mar 20, 2019 |
otokx: Sorry to bust your theory, yours truly was a consultant and trained both as SPO and collation officer which was my final posting, POs were specifically told their boundaries. Many results brought by presiding officers to collation centers were rejected because the accredited voters on those result sheets were far more than what was in the SCR. Its either you check and correct your mistakes using your EVR to tally with the number of accredited voters on the SCR or have the entire results rejected with a report made.
The funny part is that the party agents have already snapped the wrong result and sent to their party officials leading to more suspicion when the final results are announced. He is even lying. All the presiding officers did was to forward their accreditation data from the card reader to INEC central server. And many of them were not even able to do this because of network problem. There was no way he could have sent results to INEC server, he was not equipped to do so. Secondly, many of the results brought to the collation centres were full of arithmetic errors many of which were detected by the collation officers who had to help them find the mistakes and correct them before he can enter the results in his own forms. So, many of the results collected by party agents at the polling boots were useless and inaccurate. I was a collation officer, so I'm fairly well informed about the election. |
