I will certainly be glad to share my flow if I understand how it may help you. Node-red on home assistant is a great automation setup. I was using electronic timers, but I have replaced them all with esp based switches. Makes my home easy to manage.

I agree entirely. My transfer is so fast that my TV and DSTV decoders don't realize that power source has changed.
You can also add a manual control and indicator of your choice.
Most importantly you can use a timer, or an esp wifi relay like sonoff basic to activate remote, manual and automatic control.
The only problem I have is that the 2NO 2NC contactors I use are becoming scarce in the market.

There's MTN Lumos . Also there's other easy DIY processes that those with little education can put together. Eg buying these 3.2V LFP cells and getting busbars and BMS does not exactly require an engineering degree to put it together

Lumos is a scam and a total waste of money. People who bought into it simply didn't know what they were doing. In a village without grid where there is just a need for children to read in the night, it may make some little sense.

Lithium batteries are made for periods like this when the sun hides behind the clouds for most parts of the day; faster and more efficient charging, tolerate deeper DOD, and lithium is happier with partial charge, no fear of sulphation. Just keep an eye on your discharge levels and don't go beyond critical. In my lead acid days, I will be using NEPA or firing my generator by now.

With plans for 5 rows of 15s expansion.
At least I know what am dealing with.

I think the exciting thing about this is that lithium DIY will likely take the centrestage such that people will just source for premium cells, source for premium BMSes that provide monitoring capabilities like we currently do with charge controllers, then tinker with configurations like you will with SLA batteries.

For Felicity to still be stammering about "researching" into that is disappointing. Even Bluetooth & WiFi enabled BMSes are becoming widely available that their lithium batteries by now should be communicating with their premium brands of inverters. But do they even have such capabilities in their charge controllers yet sef?

Luckilly, Lithium battery is not difficult to maintain. It is even easier to maintain than Lead Acid batteries. All that is required is to prevent overcharging and over-discharge. The most basic BMS is going to do that effectively. Some will help you with balancing in addition. A good charger with proper settings can also do the job.

For the tinkerers among us, monitoring is something we will like to do. It will even be better if the battery parameters can be fed into automation and data logger like Emoncms and Home Assistant. That is why I paid for some smart BMS on Aliexpress, but I'm not totally happy with it. The software is clunky and I couldn't get the smartphone app. I'm open to any advise on a smart BMS that works. I ordered ANT-BMS and I'm hoping I will be luckier with that.

You are very wrong bros. It makes better economic sense to invest in these cheap Lithium in spite of all the "problem" than paying so much for so-called premium Lithium.

Reason I said LifePO4 are still complicated at this stage, if you don't have the right charging and discharge profile, just use Lead acid for now....

0.2V to 0.5V error can cause you the battery life

The most common problem that these batteries may have is the BMS and any battery including the expensive Battle Born can have problem with BMS.

My plan is to replace the BMS with those Chinese BMS once it dies. Once the batteries are okay, I have nothing to worry about. I already bought spare BMS.

I will feel better losing $600 Felicity battery than to lose $1200 BYD.

I have no regret investing in these "cheap" Lithium. I can not pay the price people are asking for pylontech, BYD or Battleborn. I'm a poor civil servant.

You are right. It is otherwise well and professionally packaged with standard, non-smart BMS. It puts the DIY setup we bought from some vendors to shame in terms of packaging and construction. It looks highly professional. I wish the BMS is smart, but I was told that felicity charge controllers and inverters can talk to the battery. I don't know if it is true.

I bought this battery too but I have not really gotten time to do a compressive analysis of it.
But these are my few observations:

1.Battery didn't come with full charged, therefore, you have to fully charge it before use to determine the true capacity

2. Inbuilt BMS will not allow you drain it below 48.8V (90% DOD).

3. KWh test?... Loading...

I charged it to 100% before I started my drain test. When it first arrived, it was about 40% charged.

After a more detailed look, I can confidently say that this battery is 120AH or 5.7KWh. It is made of 16 prismatic cells of 120AH each. I think Felicity is guilty of false advertising and should be reported to Standard Organisation of Nigeria. It is neither 200AH or 7.5KWh.

I bought the 48v Felicity lithium and my first impression is not good. I tried to do a test drain overnight. It gave me about 90AH drain overnight. I then set my Water Pump on it to drain it further. I got to about 115AH when my inverter shutdown at about 49v. I wasn't sure which shut down first, my inverter or the battery. But the battery was still (or back) on when I checked. At this point, I can not recommend this battery based on expected AH output.

There is a broad range of inverters Felicity sells - I have extensively installed and used the transformer based types but never the Axpert hybrid clones

Pros
1) Good price point.

2) Decent customer service and they honor product warranties.

3) Relatively powerful charger vs indian inverters - 40 to 50amps on the 24v and 48v models.

4) Newer models have user defined battery charge voltage settings and LVD - can be used with Lithium batteries in a pinch.

5) Excellent load and surge capability.

Cons
1) High idle consumption and operating losses relative to similar inverters. A 48v 5kva may have 100w to 110w of self consumption vs say 50w to 60w on a more efficient inverter - again what is an extra 40w? Just 1kwh of power lost daily

2) Some particular models (those configured via push pin) were notoriously susceptible to fan control module failures needing a visit to service center.

3) Inaccurate readings on the display for voltage under load, battery DoD and % charge and so on. Miraculously the charge voltage is relatively on track.

The biggest issue is the fan control module failure - susceptible models would likely conc out within year 1 - at least every 7 out of 10 inverters exhibited this behaviour - it became so that we would buy the inverter, take it to Oshodi arena and have a trusty hand apply a certain patch/bypass to the fan to keep things running forever without issues. This was done before installing at clients'.

Newer models seem to be more stable though I have since moved away from Asian inverters so only a few units installed.

Excellent. Thanks a million. The idle consumption is quiet serious. I have a friend who is currently using one and he complained about the idle consumption. I don't know whether I will be able to get the fan patch in Ibadan. I will hate to have fan problem with a year old inverter. I have been running an outback for 6 years now.
