radautoworks: Sorry I did not read your post from the beginning but I saw a red flag - thus my intervention. Never use companies like FEDEX, UPS to ship (except unavoidable) because the complaints about crazy customs billing is assured. Look for guys that does shipping /clearing business and use them or ship and clear yourself. I have a feeling the guys at Fedex customs section connive with customs to fleece their clients. ... my suspicion is based on many years of repeated patterns of observation and wide feedback. |
Car Talk / Re: Is This Car Suitable For Bolt? by aeu1: 3:35pm On Jan 16, 2023 |
Depending on the city you are. If you are in Abuja It will be very viable because you will see rides with sufficient distance/time per trip to earn you returns. eg 2k, 3k, 4k a drop kind of business. In smaller towns - the truth is that you will be earning to refuel your ride. N600/drop and the likes. To squeeze out true profit under this climate is hard especially for your engine size. What I am saying. Just try out and see. If it works out for you - fine. If not, report your experience as well to guide/inform others who may come up with this question in the future. God bless you. 1 Like |

Smithkline200:I have to ask because I don't claim expertise on subjects outside my competencies: There had been long standing impression:- - that Japanese cars are far superior to Korean - that Lexus is an upscale version of Toyota. - that Hyundai materials are not rugged and - there was a time where Korean car parts were to expensive and limited. - I'm aware that some properly built cars still do have strong demand even at older age and some cars even when new are to be avoided based on technical or other reason. This thus form the basis of my comparison between the two and according become the reason why I came to an open forum to be indoctrinated properly. Thanks for your time and Idea 2 Likes |

Actually, from what I studied, the engine 1MZ-FE is same as the V6 versions of Toyota Camry Orobo, Tiny Light Envelope light, and Big for Nothing and then 1994–2004 Toyota Avalon, 1997–2002 Toyota Sienna, etc. So, I don't think the engine parts commands an exotic price except for the body parts - which is not interchangeable with the common Toyota parts. I do sincerely appreciate your profound comments - sir. God bless you. ehmmy11: 1 Like |

I am at the crossroads of making a choice between Lexus ES300 (2002), 194,600miles and Hyundai Elantra 2011, 112,463miles. What I like in the Lexus will be the high quality build and reliability and my concern as as now will be the fuel consumption of the 3.0L V6 motor of 14.701 L/100km. Then for the Hyundai Elantra, what I admire about it should be the economic 1.8L motor with acclaimed 8.4L/100km fuel consumption rating. But I do not know much about the durability and cost of spare parts. Both cars are expected from USA. I may not factor what ought to be the most vital consideration when one aims at cars apart from focus on fuel consumption and engine mileage, that's why I humbly now present to this wonderful forum to solicit for superior advice on best option amongst the two. Purpose: Daily use to commute to work (Civil service middle level) and then shopping and church at weekends. Events: I seldom attend, maybe 5 times yearly. Total mileage per year is about 10,000miles (based on my past 6 years movement record). So, based on my profile above, I am sure you may comment keeping an eye on: - Cost of spare parts (and extent of availability) - Mechanics' relative understanding of how to diagnose and fix. - How rugged or durable the engine, body, interior and suspension are. - Any technical or performance issues peculiar to each of them - Your experience in using them. The corresponding links and pixs attached for closer examination and advice. LEXUS' link https://www.copart.com/lot/33691142 HYUNDAI https://www.copart.com/lot/46741722 Hello folks, pls comment. Please can someone kindly confirm if Zenith Mastercard is currently accepted on aliexpress, I had a declined transaction around 3am this morning. Though I went to their branch and was informed, that they only stopped the use of the card to withdraw physical cash from ATM abroad, online transactions are still supported. Should I try again? 1 Like |
