Afam! Afam!! Afam4eva!!!
How many times did I call you?
There are NO indigenous Igbos in Akwa Ibom. Stop misinforming people.
Ndoki is a sub group of Igbo that are divided into Abia, Rivers and Akwa Ibom states. You must think Akwa Abasi Ibom is only made up of Emesere people.

Only if Theodore was in the news like this. With the way things are going, Ikpeazu will definitely leave a mark in Abia state.

TonyeBarcanista:
@OP you need to remove your mask. Ijaw and ALL ethnic nationalities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross river and Akwa Ibom are NOT and has never been Biafrans.

2. When Ojukwu declared is Biafra, he was Governor of Eastern state that exclude Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross river. Old Rivers and Old Cross river were already created by Gowon.

3. We(SS) fought against Biafra because it was Ojukwu and his majority Igbo backers project.

4. Biaffra is an Igbo agenda though I may agree that not all Igbos are pro-Biafrans, but majority are. #Fact

This is thrash....
If based on the reason you give, Ijaw and other minorities were not part of the Biafran declared by Ojukwu, it means Igbos were also not part of it. If you did your research vgery well, you'll realize that the east central state was also declared alongside rivers state and other states created and Ukpabi Asika was the administrator from 1967 to 1970. A lot of minorities fought on the side of Nigeria just much as those minorities that fought on teh side of Biafra. There were also loads of Igbos that fought on the side of Nigeria against a rebelious leader in the name of Ojukwu. The sooner you do away with any hate you have for Igbos and see the truth for what it is, the better for you.

Its suprising that while Europe is clamouring for more integration, africa is looking for more separation.

Why not give them referendum and see where they lie
A referendum suffices when majority of the residents of the place in question are in support of the secessionist state and it will be their elected leaders that will do the talking and not some random folk.

I've always maintained that Nigerians have to be the most illiterate people in the world and it rings more true foe people who are supposedly educated. A look at the vibrant and harcore Pro Biafrans and the opposisinf Pro Nigeria, you will discover the penchant by these people to mistake both terms. For the sake of those illiterate, let me explain the difference between these two people and how they intertwine.

Igbo is an ethnic group based in West Africa, chiefly in southeastern Nigeria (Wikipedia). This means that even though Igbos are mainly in the South East, there also Igbos outside the South-East in Northern parts of Delta state, some parts of Rivers state and the Ndoki areas of Akwa Ibom state.

Biafra, officially the Republic of Biafra, is often referred to as a secessionist state in then southeastern Nigeria that declared its independence from 30 May 1967 to 15 January 1970, taking its name from the Bight of Biafra (the Atlantic bay to its south).

Furthermore, the secessionist state which was declared by the defacto leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu included people of the old eastern region (Igbos, Efiks, Ijaws etc) by virtue of the fact that these groups found themselves in that region and he happened to be the governor. That is why the Igbos across the Niger in places like Asaba and the likes were not part of the secessionist state because they were in the Mid west region.

So, as it stands today, Biafra which may come in different pseudonym is a movement of people who are mostly Igbos but not supported by majority of Igbo people and as such should not be classified as an Igbo movement but can be classified as a group of Igbo people. It is wrong and silly to assume that every Igbo person supports Biafra or use the term interchangeably with Igbo.

This present fg & nigerian navy is insane..
instead of nigeria navy to fish out those tht are doing bunkery, they are busy threatening the community tht has being over powered by the so called bunkery miscreant.
is it the community tht their land has being spilled with oil & have no where else to go source for their livelihood from tht will help the nigerian navy do their job.
the ss really need to know where they belong in this country coz they cannot be continually threatened in their ancestral homes & still on their God given oil,a word is a enough for the wise
That's the problems i've always had with the Nigerian government, whether at federal or state level. They are lazy and always seek the easiest way out. Instead of these buffoons to do their job which is to enforce laws, they prefer to take the easy way out by seizing the lands of indigenes.

is nice having most your views here...but the truth is that most of u havent lived in this part of the world for long or probably dont seem to notice them....my write up is not about bi*fran state or whatever but the some corrective ills in the society which has no basis for justification....or if u think it has basis then answer some of these questions:

1)since some of you said is cultural then i ask ; do we continue to kill twins bc is cultural in some places
2)do we continue to maltreat 'osu' people just bc is cultural in some places?
3)do we continue to exile young gals bc they're ogbanje?

as our cultures change so as our mentality is supposed to change...lets rally together and build a stronger society thats all my point.
. You seem to be changing the tone of your voice. You were the one who brought up Biafra instead of just raising your point.

What irks me about this whole Biafran argument mostly from the opposition is that they can't give any good reason why it should not be. All they do is try to whip up childish sentiments that doesn't even make sense even to a toddler. very soon you will hear someone open a thread to tell us how a lot of Igbos are in inter tribal marriages and as such it will be hard for a Biafran nation to come into fruition. I'm not a pro-Biafran person but i like when i see people give very strong arguments.

I can't wait for the day when Aba will be described as "Beautiful".
CultureRe: Sub-tribalism(clanship) In South-east Nigeria by Afam4eva(m):
What the Op has said about the intra tribal divisions is true but it's not peculiar to just Igbos. What I find strange is the length you guys will go to unjustify the call for a Biafran state by some people . It's becoming embarrassing really. The emergence of Biafra does not mean there will be no fighting or divisions or that Biafra will be better than Singapore, so stop giving all these baseless reasons. If you complain of an impending division in Biafra then what is the basis of Nigeria remaining a country when the divisions are worse than anything that can come out of Biafra.

Honestly the man didn't take the oath of office but he presided over the country even if it was done illegally, most coups are illegal.

This is from Wikipedia. A president is the leader of a country or a division or part of a country, typically a republic, a democracy, or a dictatorship. The title "president" is sometimes used by extension for leaders of other groups, including corporate entities.
We're talking of Nwafor Orizu and not Aguila Irons. I think you're confusing the two.
PoliticsRe: Nwafor Orizu Was President Of Nigeria by Afam4eva(m): 8:55am On Dec 27, 2015
superstar1:
Very funny.

Were the leaders of other regions killed in Shagari's case?

Was the Senate president asked to hand over to nominated person by the cabinet?

Power was taken from the sitting president directly in a palace coup.

Buhari worked for his coup and he should benefit from work of his hands.

In the case of Orizu, he had the tim and opportunity to hand over to Dipcharima before he chose to hand over to his kinsmen. If he handed over to Dipcharima and Ironsi decided to arrest all of them and take over power, it would have been a different tall game entirely and Orizu would have been seen as a national hero.

He is an unpatriotic ethnic bigot. Period.
And what if he handed over to Ironsi in duress? Do you think Buhari couldn't have made SHAGARI to hand over power to him on National TV if he wanted?
PoliticsRe: Nwafor Orizu Was President Of Nigeria by Afam4eva(m): 8:53am On Dec 27, 2015
Would it have been a different scenario if Orizu had handed over to a Northerner instead of Irons?

WHY DID SHAGARI HAND OVER TO BUHARI HIS KINSMAN WHEN NO SUCH IS BACKED BY THE CONSTITUTION.
That's because when it's done by a Northerners, it's normal but when it involves an Igbo person, it's tribalism. I wonder if SHAGARI was also complicit in the coup.
