tonychristopher:He has not done anything wrong. We must learn to entertain other opinions that are at variance with ours. |
@TheGoodJoe While I agree with you to a large extent especially as it pertains to Igbos holding their leaders accountable as I highlighted in the this thread https://www.nairaland.com/2766901/igbos-need-redirect-protests-leaders. However, I think the agitations for those who want out is beyond that. I think necessarily think Igbos are lagging way beyond other states and regions in terms of dividends of democracy from their governors. All the Governors in Nigeria are the same in my opinion savevfor a few. If you talk about Akpabio or Fashola BVN or Amaechi like you stated, you have a Chime, Peter Obi and to some extent Rochas. The fact that these men have not built gargantuan edifice like Always Ibom is because of the scarcity of funds for such projects which is one of the bones of contention by Igbos. Why should we be reduced to 5 states while other zones have 6 and 7 respectively especially when the number of states and local government determines how much allocation goes to a state. Why are we not been considered when they want to cite important federal institutions? As i speak to you, there's little to zero federal presence in the entire Igboland. Why are we being shortchanged in terms of federal appointments? Even in Jonathan's regime that people thought were filled with Igbos and SS, mk ost government ministries and parastatal were still dominated by Northerners and their friends. Why is there. Federal character system when the region that it favours have never been mistreated by the Nigerian government similarly to the way African Americans were mistreated in the US. If anything federal character should favour Igbos who are recovering from the civil war and not the same people who have held this nation to ransome. So, all this issues culminate into why the Biafran protest is rife. |
vladimiros: vladimiros:The Northern leaders are not idiots. Things like NDDC and more derivation were created to ease the tension. The Niger Delta has the negotiating power that Igbos don't have. Do you think that if the SE had as much oil as the SS, a sixth state wouldn't have been created for the SE? They know SS is a region that they have to appease one way or the other but stretching it is when you expect that the same corrupt individuals will just wakeup one morning and give you total autonomy of your resources. |
vladimiros:You got it wrong in your last sentence. It's in Europe that you have to be subtle and rely on presenting your case in a mature manner. In Africa, its the other way around. They won't listen to you until you do something... |
vladimiros:Youre still beatig around the bush. If you know they won't agreebtobit then how do think it will happen? Through civil disobedience? |
vladimiros:Even you can't see the contradiction in your post. If the North won't agree to autonomy ever, then ow do you hope something will happen? Anyways, lets just keep hope alive. |
JayKayMaybachz:I thought it went down with Chelsea. |
vladimiros:Like I said, keep hope alive while they fix your autonomy. |
Even Bello sef dey fear the victory. |
I thought this thread has been deleted. |
I know some people are inching to know where in Nigeria he comes from. |
And what if the woman doesn't know that he is either married or in a relationship? |
With the way this propaganda laden government is going, by next year we may hear something Iin the lines of " We have dealth with bokoharam. They know longer have the capacity to kill women and children who are the vulnerable in society. They can only kill men and older people " |
Chanchit:I never said you did. I'm just saying that whatever she say will obviously be her opinion and in no way a reflection of what is yet to be seen. |
The Nigerian Delta groups are hopeful that one day they will be allowed to control the resources found in their backyard. While hope is a good thing and should be encouraged. However when more than one group of people are hoping and their hopes are on a parallel line then miracle suffices. I don't think see the born to rule North hoping that one day they will leave the oil to the owners. That oilnis why they are still hopeful and existing else they would have called for secession before any group in Nigeria. Keep hope alive. |
Chanchit:It's a case of personal opinion. You cannot say it will not be good for the region when it has not been tried. |
pretydiva:It's DOMINO and not Dominion. It's not a Christian film. |
The economy is soo bad that even an illegal and terrorist group like bokoharam cannot compete with Al shabab of Somalia. |
The greatest magic in the history of Nigerians about to be performed. We are about to seen a situation where one local government is larger than seven. |
Abagworo:Which one is igbotic structures again? By residential houses I'm referring to mostly duplexes that dot most residential estates and not those several storey residential building in SE towns. I was only suggesting that we start looking erecting office buildings or pent houses as opposed to the regular residential houses. |
Why is the APC man on TV bitter about the result? |
This was my assertion a few days ago that the Biafran struggle is not necessarily an attempt to form a parallel country but a fight against oppression. The same people who protested in Aba arebyhe same people who will shout up Nigeria when the country wins a match. Just yesterday some Nigerians fans were said to have carried both the Biafran and Nigerian flag to a stadium in Senegal to support the Nigerian team. The government should not take these protests lightely and should endeavour to fix some issues that have been raised especially those affecting Igbos in this country because we don't know how much things can escalate. When people are pushed to the wall, the only thing they can do is to push back. |
dustmalik:Im sitting down already. Meanwhile, His palace is really beautiful. It looks like the white house. |
Fake picture. |
Tycoflu:Bokoharam is responsible for the increase in the price of suya. They have succeeded in displaying cattle rearer whom have loatbcattlwa worth millions thereby increasing the price of suya. |
Jesus Kristi Oba ooo... Is this the change we voted for. One devoid of logic? Wetin concern bokoharam with climate change? |
chimerase2:Owerri has the trappings of being the Las Vegas of the east. They should develop based on that uniqueness. |
I don't buy into the competition like you highlighted. I don't see why Owerri should build a market just to compete with Onitsha when they should use their uniqueneas to their advantage. That's not to say Owerri cannot have a market but not necessarily in the scale of Onitsha. We should learn to support ourselves. |
Mynd44:Accepting the deputy position and still be in court is an aberration. You can't be fighting what you are part of. |
Deltagiant:All you could have said is that you don't have access to any pictures in instead of making it seem like I'm doubting the landing of a dreamliner in Enugu. Everything mustn't be fight. |
Enugu has one of the largest and highest growing residential estates in Nigeria. Can the Enugu government make an attempt to come with business districts especially in the proposed centenary city. We need to move away from building residential houses. We need l dot our skyline with skyscrapers or at least well thought out business buildings. |
