PoliticsRe: Jonathan To Blame For Fuel Scarcity Says Lai Mohammed by Afam4eva(m): 7:43am On Dec 22, 2015
Jonathan won't rest for the next 8 years. His name shall be used as a point of contact for anything that isn't working. I already see APC telling us after 4 years that we should give Buhari a second term because the first term was used to clean Jonathan's rot. The SCAM continues...
PoliticsRe: Igboland Is Not Landlocked by Afam4eva(m): 6:02pm On Dec 21, 2015
HopeAtHand:
Same Amaechi that asked "are we biafrans"..all Na politics nau..if i wanted to contest presidential election 2mao, i will come to Enugu and speak flawless Igbo...but if you come to an Ikwerre meeting and say "Igbo Kwenu", you go chop hot slap.
When did Biafra and Igbo become interchangeable nouns? Rochas can make that Biafran statement and it won't change anything. I have followed this Ikwerre debate for far too long and i understand how the whole thing works. Afterall, the cluster we call Igbo today is an artificial creation of similar people culturally and most importantly politically. The truth is, i don't understand how the Ikwerre can fit into being called Igbo in the 21st century because a lot of things have changed. Maybe it would have been possible decades ago but not today exceot a major event happens that will unite the Igbos and Ikwerres politically. Notice my use of the term "politically". It's because i believe Ikwerres independence is based purely on politics. Maybe not as espoused by some Igbos. Let me use the Asaba scenario to explain. An average Asaba (not Anioma) person is Igbo. But there's one difference between him and his neighbor from Onitsha. While the one is Onitsha is shouting "BIAFRA TILL I DIE", he's like "O boy, i don't know about that one". It's not like there are no pro Biafran Asaba people but they are not as crazy as those across the Niger. The Ikwerre story is an extreme case of the Asaba story. The Ikwerres have created an consciousness for themselves which is different from that of SE Igbos not minding the cultural affinity that they share with South Easterners. The best an Ikwerre person feels with an Easterner like moi is one of cultural brotherhood.
CultureRe: Imo State Carnival 2015 - Pictures Thread by Afam4eva(m): 5:45pm On Dec 21, 2015
Abagworo:
Thank you Afam. I opened this thread to see display of rich Igbo or at least our diverse Nigerian culture only to see imitation of Cuban festival. No foreigner will waste his hard earned Dollar on counterfeit when he can visit the Caribbean for the real thing.
I think it should be enshrined in the constitution that before a person seeks an elective position, that person must attend an orientation course established by the federal government geared towards unlearning some of our colonial teaching and embracing local content. can you imagine what a cultural festival attended by representatives of all communities in Imo state will be like as opposed to this carnival thing.
CultureRe: Imo State Carnival 2015 - Pictures Thread by Afam4eva(m): 4:21pm On Dec 21, 2015
Carnivals should be banned in this country. it's becoming rather embarassing. All the carnivals from Calabar to Lagos to Port Hacourt to Owerri all look the same to me. This is Africa for fvck sake and not the west indies. We should promote cultural festivals rather than this BS.

He now has access to the federal budget for works and executive powers to pursue and implement such legislation, so it's a different kettle of fish.
Will it be done on federal roads or what? I think it would have been easier for him to make it statewide.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Must Champion New National Standard For Urban Roads by Afam4eva(m): 4:17pm On Dec 21, 2015
I've always wondered why we always shy away from having roads with pedestrian sidewalks, covered drainages and possibly a lane for bicycles. is it that the cost implication is astronomical or we just don't plan for the future. Truthfully, with the way we go about building things in this country, we'll never be like the US and Europe. All we're going to have is a quasi-ghetto azz urbanized cities all over without proper planning.

I have tried so hard to see Sanusi as a mentor but it's just not working. James must see something in him that others don't see and we know he started singing his praises even before the guy became CBN governor.

Abagworo:
Have you been to Oguta? Oguta sprawls to Mgbidi and is quite developed and well organised. What Okorocha can do for us is to dualise the road from Mgbidi to Oguta town with well marked roads. We have the money to invest in tourism sector. We need the resort either completely re -organised or concessioned to a serious investor.
NB Oguta is different from Oguta LGA.
I have been to Oguta and i'm aware that is is different from Oguta LGA.

thats not a city... thats a developed village.
But it can be classified as a suburb but never a city.
A suburb is usually part of greater city. What greater city is Orlu part of? Orly can be classified as a small town and that still makes it a city.

Government can create an enabling environment for commerce to thrive and this is caputured in the news article that Abagworo posted. We can develop Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta to the extent that they will sprawl towards Avu junction and Ogbaku.

PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by Afam4eva(m): 1:18am On Dec 19, 2015
The Imo state government should think of creating a city out of Mmahu, Egbema. They already have the trappings such as quality roads and layout. What they're lacking is what quasi towns that are not even up to Orlu and Okigwe level possess and that is some level of commercial activity. Mmahu should be made to compete with nearby Omoku in Rivers State.

The omambala site is spot on. There's no need for making if a general Igbo site if that is not the wish of the creator. Someone else can always create one for Igboland.

The only reason could be if your cousin in not from Asia state but that reason is not solid considering what your cousin scored. That score would even secure an admission in some premier universities.

PoliticsRe: Biafra: A Struggle For Disgruntled Elements? by Afam4eva(m): 3:12pm On Dec 09, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
See my earlier comment and you will get my point.

I am saying a protest against the massive looting by their politicians will yield to more development than a massive protest for Biafra.

Look at Amechi's tenure in Rivers State and the massive infrastructural development.

Show me a governor in the east that did ten percent of what Amaechi did for Rivers State. Or are you saying your Governors did not get up to ten percent of Rivers Allocation?
Comparing Amaechi and Igbo governor, is just another waste of time. Apart from the fact that you're not forthcoming with any proof, we're really going off tangent because like I said, the protest is bigger than the performance of their governors. I don't see how Se governors are worse than governors from other places. So, it's not like other places have turned to Eldorado while Igboland is lagging. The issue is the maltreatment of Igbos by the Federal government. Let's narrow it to that.

I don't agree bro.

What's the point in having 5 years or more experience in a capital intensive business such as vehicle spare parts for example without the capital/funding to set it up. That's why some of these boys turn to the "streets" and become hawkers, 419 kingpins, thieves, etc
I guess you didn't see the part about the apprentice being settled at the end.

TheGoodJoe:
Leave that talk, there is no debate in Amaechi's educational development. I told you in my former area alone, we have three. At Rumukwrushi area in Port Harcourt they are three. It is like that in many areas.
I'm not doubting you. I just need proof just like you requested of me. If you can't do that then o can't obligebyoi. Just accept that some SE governor's have also built tens of schools.
PoliticsRe: Biafra: A Struggle For Disgruntled Elements? by Afam4eva(m): 9:28am On Dec 08, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
Gov. Amaechi built 500 and you are talking of 50. In the former area I stayed in Port Harcourt at D-Line, in that small location, we had Three of these kind of schools in the pic below. Orogbum, Nkpolo Oroworukwu and Oromineke.
You just showed me a single picture out of 500./I can also show you one picture and claim that the Anambra state government built 1000 world class schools. You have to prove that Amaechi actually did build 500 schools.

When you can show me the 50 standard schools that Amaechi built then I will oblige you.
PoliticsRe: Biafra: A Struggle For Disgruntled Elements? by Afam4eva(m): 8:50am On Dec 08, 2015
TheGoodJoe:
I agree the Federal government can do more but the Igbo leaders can do more for the Igbo people. That is all I am saying. Look at what Amaechi did, the Igbo leaders can do at least one tenth of what Amaechi did.

Amaechi built 500 international standard Primary schools, with free books, Uniforms, socks and sandals. The school fees free. The Governors of the Igbo people can build 50.

Amaechi built over 150 top quality health centers. The Igbo leaders can build 15-20. That is all I am saying. Things like these will cause development before fighting for ports and Bridges.
And you know that Igbo leaders haven't done 10% or even 50% of what Amaechi did how? Do you really believe what you're writing here?
