Nightshift: I was referring to Okwesilieze's governorship days of 1992 of old Anambra state. It's a memory lane recount grin

PoliticsRe: Chime Declares Support For Jonathan by Afam4eva(m): 11:33pm On Jan 04, 2014
Nightshift: We don't need an Okwesilieze Nwodo, who was confused for months as governor. He was more addicted to his favorite Bally shoes than caring for the state's needs. Neither do we need a Jim Nwobodo, who was more interested in parties with Queen's School beauties than constructing roads in his LGA.
I don't think Okwy or Nnia or anyone in the Nwodo family are interested in governing Enugu as they're too old for that. I think they just want to godfather someone and i think that has to be nipped in the bud. I heard that one Ahamadike, kenneth Okonwo's brother is a likely choice.
PoliticsRe: Which Ethnic Group Comes 4th In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 11:31pm On Jan 04, 2014
eluquenson: Niegria Ethnic groups as at 2013
21% Yoruba
21% Hausa
18% Igbo
11% Fulani
7% Efik-Ibibio
4% Kanuri
3% Tiv
3% Edo
2% Ijaw
10% others
Which censures did you get your figures from? I can't remember a census being conducted in 2013 and the last census we had, there was no ethnic census. Stop spreading falsehood.
PoliticsRe: Abuja And Lagos: Tale Of Two Cities by Afam4eva(m): 11:29pm On Jan 04, 2014
Mayor_of_Lagos: No doubt! Those that are reinforcing its commercial status ought to be reprimanded, not Rufai who wanted to leave its administrative status undiluted.
Nigerian leaders don't understand what it means for a city to be administrative. They should take a cue from America where the biggest and most prestigious cities are not usually the capital city. Most people would think that Baltimore, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago are the capital of Maryland, Florida, California and Illinois respectively but that's not the case. In America, one thing they take into cognizance when citing a capital is security and the ease of the city but here in Nigeria, a capital city must be commercial, if it's not commercial, they will pump most of the resources of the state or country to make it look better than other towns and cities and i think that's a wrong mindset. I don't think Abuja should have been given so much importance thereby making people to even start comparing it to Lagos or other cultural cities. In America, no ine mentions Watshinton DC among the top US cities.

zicoraads: Afam! Do u even travel at all? U r beginning to sound like one of those IBO boys that are born in the east, primary school east, secondary school east, university east..and are now working in the east. Am not shooting maself in the foot...am only saying Ur own brothers can't even spend time in that same place u are shouting u want the country to be divided over. A country musnt necessarily be born by war...so why didn't u take the no-war option the first time? Am only concluding based on u people's antecedents.
Must every Igbo person live in an Igbo country? Does every Nigerian live in Nigeria? So, what's your point? Even if it's only 100k Igbo people that decide to live in Biafra, a country it will remain. Stop drinking panadol for another man's headache.

DON'T BE EVASIVE.. I AM VERY SURE ,YORUBA LANGUAGE IS A SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN DELTA

DO U KNOW THAT THERE IS OPC IN DELTA STATE? WHICH ITS ORIGIN IS ROOTED IN YORUBA LAND

THE ENMITY BETWEEN IGBO N: YORUBA WON'T LET U REVEAL THE TRUTH
ITSEKIRI ARE YORUBA
You should have just mentioned that you were referring to Itsekiri instead of dancing around. And like i said, Itsekiri is not up to 7% of Delta population and it's unwise to say that Yoruba is popular in Delta state.
PoliticsRe: Which Ethnic Group Comes 4th In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 11:12pm On Jan 04, 2014
There's no fourth as the constitution does not recognize a 4th ethnic group. According to Nigeria, it's Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and others.

zicoraads: You have an interesting mind set. Can u please name the ten countries? U want Biafra! Hear urself talk...I bet u were not born during Biafra. Go get a book or tell Ur parents to sit u down and tell u stories before u start shouting 'u want Biafra'. You think we don't know of the bloodshed in the south and east? U kill Ur fellow brothers for land for crying out loud. The robberies, kidnappings, rituals and so on. I have good ibo friends that can't even stand spending a month home and u are hear shouting u want Biafra. I bet u guys won't even last as south Sudan did.
You go fear mindset. So Biafra=War? Are you aware that Biafra was the name of the intended country while the war was fought to stop the country from being? Are you implying that for a country to be born, there must be war? How come there's so much crime in the SE according to you that your Igbo friends wouldn't spend a month there in the same Nigeria. Stop shooting yourself in the foot. Your drivel can best be described as daft.
PoliticsRe: Abuja And Lagos: Tale Of Two Cities by Afam4eva(m): 11:07pm On Jan 04, 2014
Mayor_of_Lagos: Ikengawo, if you dont have meriting topic to write on please dont open just to make noise.

Cities are setup for various reasons. Not all cities are created to serve as commercial point of exchange. There is ground to compare Abuja and Lagos. Abuja is administrative, period!
You're right. It's administrative but when you start building the best stadium, moving headquarters of companies, pumping billions on dollars on Abuja then the it being an administrative city holds no water.
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Should Be A Lesson To Us All! by Afam4eva(m): 11:02pm On Jan 04, 2014
zicoraads: Daft mindset u say? Can u please name a single African country that has seperated without incident since when we all got independence and I'll stop with the 'daft mindset'. U baffle me! If the only reason for seperation is noble...maybe genuine intentions,I'll be happy to champion the cause. But u and I know the reverse is the case.
Pls can you define what you mean by "genuine Intentions". How do we know which intentions are genuine?

PoliticsRe: Abuja And Lagos: Tale Of Two Cities by Afam4eva(m): 10:38pm On Jan 04, 2014
Like you said yourself, Abuja is an artificial city without a soul or culture while Lagos has loads of it. It's the people that make Lagos what it is while the government makes Abuja what it is.

I HAVE DEDUCED THE TRUTH IN UR STATEMENT (LIES )
I WILL STILL UTTER IT:
YORUBA LANGUAGE IS A WELL SPOKEN LANGUAGE IN DELTA, EDO...
Stop displaying ignorance to the world and learn when you're been taught by someone who's from Delta state. The languages spoken by natives in Delta state include but not limited to Igbo, Urhobo, Isoko, Ijaw and itsekiri. Only Itsekiri sounds like Yoruba but they're not even up to 7% of the population.
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Should Be A Lesson To Us All! by Afam4eva(m): 10:35pm On Jan 04, 2014
Donmams: So you think the ijaws, itsekiris and urhobos will leave peacefully in a separate country when they can't spend a weekend without killing each other in Nigeria? The only reason the SS and SE are friends right now is because of the north. It is their hatred for the north that binds them together. Once the country is divided the SS will see the true colors of the Igbos. They will massacre their leaders exactly the way they killed our leaders in the north. Unfortunately the SS will have no one to turn to when that happens. The crisis in a new SS/SE will be worse than south sudan. The igbos will kill every SS man, woman and child until no one is left.
Whoever said Igbos and the South South will be in the same country upon separation. and there's no country in the world that is rancour free and a separatist country in Nigeria won't be the first. But we can't deny the fact that an Ijaw only country will reduce the problems they're having in present day Nigeria as they won't have anybody to blame but themselves. Do you want them to remain in a country where they're r.aped of their natural resources which is used to develop other parts of the country. Everyone has a right to self determination and the south Sudan example is really daft as several countries have been born in Africa on previous occasions and nothing happened.
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Should Be A Lesson To Us All! by Afam4eva(m): 10:21pm On Jan 04, 2014
I've been seeing several threads with this daft mindset that just because of what's happening in South Sudan, people should not not call for separation without taking into cognizance that fact that there are some countries that have separated without any problems.

CultureRe: Which Is The Easiest Nigerian Language To Learn? by Afam4eva(m): 9:10pm On Jan 04, 2014
This is not an easy question to answer as people are likely to answer with bias. I think only people who can speak several languages can get close to getting it right. I've heard a lot of people especially those who have lived in the north saying that it's Hausa. As much as i won't doubt it, it could be as a result of the fact that one is forced to speak the language due to the fact that people who are indigenous and live in the north rarely speak English or even pidgin unlike they south where you have the choice to converse in pidgin or English. For instance, despite the fact that different variants of Igbo(Ikwerre et al) is spoken by the indigenous people of Port-hacourt, pidgin seems to be the language on the streets, so people who live their rarely pick up Ikwerre except you're living in one of those villages in the outskirts of PH. The same thing applies to Warri.

AdannayaBella: You shouldn't be surprised, after all, they're all Igbos, not New Yorkers.
If i hear NBA star, Emeka Okafor speak Igbo, i will be surprised because he's lived most of his life in the states but definitely not an Igbotic person who lives in Nigeria and over 30 years old. It may be possible in the next 10 years as people who are 20 years today will be 30 years by then but as at right now, i think above 30 Igbo are lucky. I am 27 and i'm not bad myself.

xynerise: If not for Moyes this Antelope would not have said this nonsense
Moyes or no Moyes, he's too big for Man U. Btw, i find it strange that you ManU fans are calling for the scot's head knowing fully well that he's not had the opportunity to shop for players. I think he should be giving the benefit of the doubt till the second half of the season to prove himself. He might not be the best coach in the world but he's a good coach nonetheless and he may be even better than Sir Alex Ferguson.
