sandijey: Its really bad! U need to followndigbo page on fb. The way they insult people from ebonyi. I think theycall them wawa people! Don't no what tha mmeans. It was there I read that some of them still eat human beings. I doubt it though. The only person trying to put ebonyi in the limelight is that afikpo chic. I really don't understand d discrimination against ebonyi.
It's Enugu people that are called WAWA not ebonyi.

vanunu: The funny thing is that Ebony state is one of the few states in Nigeria that can do without oil, there internally generated revenue is the highest in the south east.
You're right about that. So, i don't know why some people say Ebonyi is not self sustainable despite the fact it has one of the highest IGR in the entire country.

Yes, it can be considered a UK business website irrespective of the domain extension if you make it so. You can register your website with Google webmaster tools and tell google that your business is a UK one and it will be indexed among UK websites.

kel4soft: I have lived in Port Harcourt for larger part of my life. I can count one or two Ebonyi peeps I have met. Even while in school, you rarely find them. Compare that to other SE states. Then, you know exactly what the OP is talking about.

Another State that comes to mind in South-South is Cross River to be honest. Quite out there.
That's if you've asked every single Igbo person in PH where they're from. But you're right. It's hard to find an Ebonyi person unlike Imo and Anambra peeps. It's the same thing for Cross River peeps who rarely travel out. Most of the people we actually call Calabar are from Akwa Ibom state.

I watched it some years back and it remains one of my favourite seasonal films. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after season 2 or 3(i think).

Haba, Udi Hill is far from Enugu town na. I thought you were gonna name one of the villages just s stone throw from the town.

mascot87: Lol
I served in that state and I can tell you that their is nothing to report about that state. They are living in stone age and the funny part of it is that with the number of people i spoke to their, they seem to feel comfortable with whatever they get good or bad and they don't complain. They don't insult their leaders and they believe that even if their governor is not performing well, God will give them someday someone that will perform well.I remember the Ezza, Ezilo,Ameka,Ameri, ikwo people. They don't bother about anything, they just live their life and peacefully. If you hear Enugu people say "you this Abakaliki man" it's an insult o,it mean say you be mumu. They believe Abakaliki people too mumu.Abeg free them jorr, they are in a world of their own
I'm aware of this and i also notice it in their approach to life generally. They don't seem to be interested in amassing wealth like other Igbos. They seem comfortable in the level they are at. I think that has to change and it will change if more enlightenment is done.

kel4soft: Can we stop posting pictures of cities in Nigeria which is not even on par with Angola or any of our fellow OPEC member countries. We should keep posting and exposing the neglect of these villages by our political class.

There is a particular village I went to at Enugu to cover an event. Meh, it was horrible, from bad roads to lack of basic amenities. The most annoying part is that, this village is just 20minutes away from their state capital.
What's the name of the village? I just hope it's not my village.

zeelo2014: They are 3 major tribes in Benue; Tiv,Idoma,Igede. Otukpo indigenes are majorly Idomas then few other tribes mostly Igedes. The Igedes are mostly from Oju local government.
That explains a lot.

The east generally is not being covered by other parts of the country for some reason. if not for the new media, we wouldn't have been able to get some info from that part of the country.
PoliticsRe: Trip To A Poor Town Of Prominent Men -pictures by Afam4eva(m): 9:10pm On Dec 30, 2013
It still beats me why our structure in Nigeria is still the way it is when things would have gotten better under a decentralised system whereby states and towns will have their own leadership like it is in the US. if we had Mayors running these towns, towns like otukpo won't look the way they do.
PoliticsRe: Trip To A Poor Town Of Prominent Men -pictures by Afam4eva(m): 9:07pm On Dec 30, 2013
kel4soft: You are wrong. Oil coys built Bonny not Opobo. We are one of the first civilised people in Nigeria. You remember King Jaja of Opobo? If not for the useless civil war that destroyed practically everything we had, we would have been the finest town in the whole country.

Though we have recovered and moved on, politics have really done more harm than good to us. Once united kingdom is now shredded into factions.
I think you are right. I actually had Bonny in mind. Still can't differentiate between the two. I never had the opportunity to visit Opobo when i was living in PH.

ebucha: is Orlu the capital of Imo state?, but it is growing. Or may be the ever developing Auchi is now the capital of Edo state. Leave talk I beg
It's just now that Rochas is paying attention to Orlu but most mini Nigerian towns are no different from what i see in Otukpo. It's just the dusty nature that's making it look so bad.
PoliticsRe: Trip To A Poor Town Of Prominent Men -pictures by Afam4eva(m): 8:54pm On Dec 30, 2013

We built our town without government.
Oil coys built your town.
CelebritiesRe: OJB Jezreel: D'banj Didn't Donate; Yet Won't Refute Claims! by Afam4eva(m): 7:55pm On Dec 30, 2013
phuck_NL: On the contrary, he shouldn't. I think OJB, his publicists, and sympathizers are the ones with issues here. The question is : who put out the statement that Dbanj donated 7million. They probably did it to hoodwink other people into donating hence the issue of bounced cheques. This is a non issue. The guy should go and sit down. I have absolutely no sympathy for him considering his kidney problem wasn't even a natural thing but a self inflicted problem. After drinking your kidneys to death, you still dey talk. He better lay low and enjoy what he has left and stop being an ungrateful biaatch
How is he ungrateful when he didn't receive jackshit from the accused. Did you miss the part where he said that people were taking pictures with him for publicity?

If anything, it should be the other way around. Yorubas are from Abeokuta? WTF?

Sloan: So Afam is still at drinking garri levels and you make mouth to people who can transform you into a decent man with decent wages? LWKMD! You've made soooo many enemies, it is hard not to pity your position. Now the problem is this, even if you meet one person you've not offended and who wants to help, that person probably knows or is known by a dozen people who you have offended and insulted because of your moderator job on NL. Anyway, I leave you with your ways, some of us only enjoy the distraction that NL offers from our regular lives.
I never knew drinking garri was a sighn of poverty. Siddon there make pant dey wear you. You never try Ijebu garri with groundnut wrapped by a calabr person with sapele water. When you try it, come back and give me feedback.

Where's Safarigirl?

@topic
As much as i think OJB should have let the sleeping dogs lie, i don't like the way some of our celebrities use peoples' misfortune for publicity. D'Banj doesn't owe OJB jackshit but he should have come out to dispell the rumour that he gave 7million when he didn't even give 7naira.

Is Otukpo really Idoma though. I've always thought so but yesterday when i went to buy drinking garri, the guy that sold to me told me he was from Otukpo but said he's not idoma and i was surprised. Any otukpo person in the house?
PoliticsRe: Governor Of The Bank Of England Should Be Appointed As The Next CBN Governor. by Afam4eva(m): 7:30pm On Dec 30, 2013
I think the only way Nigeria can move forward is if we put competent foreigners to run our major government parastatals(not ministries).
