Abagworo:And they all happened to be carrying exactly the same kind of placards? Abeg, tak another thing. |
Truckpusher:It's not in my place to advise anyone. Everybody sees things from their own vantage point and in this world, there are many truths. it depends on which ones you want to subscribe to. As for me, i only refer to people exactly how they want to be refereed but that's not to say i have no reservation about what is Igbo and what is not. |
This carnival thing has become disgusting in my eyes. They should do something else abeg. How about hosting a festival that unites all the parts of Akwa Ibom in the state capital, Uyo. |
Truckpusher:I think you're talking to the wrong person. I accepted the new truth a long time ago. |
zoba88:The governor just had to add this to clear all doubts. Lol ![]() |
JeffreyJamez:So, who's depriving the north? |
I'm surprised its Abagworo that's reporting this kind of news. Is it possible he sees nothing wrong with it and how it affects his principal? |
I really don't understand where the writer is going with the article. I'm having a feeling that she feels that Hausas are the most marginalized just because people insult them. So, i'll address the issue on two fronts. Marginalization is based on political and economic deprivation and not necessarily on an individual basis and because people from a particular group are insulted does not mean they are marginalized especially if the leaders from their areas control most of the political structures in the country. Though i'll agree with your assertion as to how poor Hausa people are debased and the butt of everyone's jokes. The average Nigerian see them are uneducated and uninspiring people who have nothing to offer society, so they call them names such as Aboki (in jest) or gambari, boko haram and so on and every right thinking person should find such behaviors abhorrent. I also find them to be the most kind and selfless people. I know because i've interacted with people from different tribes in Nigeria. But that's where it ends. |
I think she has an hour glass body shape. |
Ishilove:I've been trying to come up with an answer since morning. |

I expect them to welcome the president in New York. |
I've found concoction rice to be more delicious than the elaborate ones. |
harlehleh:I'm not necessarily against his being arrested. I'm concerned that some people think that the statement he made is the reason he was labelled a terrorist and not because he was armed. Instead of arresting him for violating his bail conditions, they chose to send soldiers to wreck havoc and some people are cheering them on. |
Kanu's mouth can really dance makosa. he has been talking rubbish since he joined APC and even the APC people have paid him no mind in is quest to suck their abunna like Rochas has been doing. |
HopeAtHand:Nnamdi Kanu is a maverick and the thing with mavericks is that they go all out. It's either they succeed or fail woefully. The only reason why IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu gained massive traction was because of his personality (or his ginger). If he had followed the advise of a lot of us sensible folks, the movement wouldn't have even gained quarter of the popularity that it gained. it would be no different from MASSOB. Another reason why he was bound to fail is the same reason any secessionist group in Nigeria will fail. The most peaceful way to go about this thing is for groups such as IPOB to beam their searchlight on the political landscape of their proclaimed territory and even form a party that they can use their followership to dominate leadership in the east and after gathering momentum through representation, they can now formally opt out through their elected officials. |
It's actually all the way from Abule Egba- Iyana Ipaga - Dopemu towards mangoro/ikeja along. |
HopeAtHand:I agree with you totally and all the comments in the past that i've made concerning IPOB and their activities lends credence to the fact that i did not approve of their modus operandi. |
shukuokukobambi:Here https://www.nairaland.com/4060570/biafra-senator-ike-ekweremadu-advises Though the thread was locked and i'm yet to give a full review of the article but i think the senator said everything i was thinking. Never knew he was that smart. |
shukuokukobambi:Yes, i did and posted it on here. What about it? |
SuperS1Panther:Who cares what you think. If he made a statement that is considered treacherous, why not leave the law courts to take it's full course? Ohh i forgot, they thought they wouldn't have a strong case. You people are just moving from pillar to post to find a reason to justify the terrorism tag placed on him and it's becoming embarrassing really. |
One elder for village don dey eye that sit. |
shukuokukobambi:It's still really isn't a problem if he is charged to court and this speech of his is taken literally. My concern is the people who are using this video as the reason why the army invaded his home. Under no circumstances should the military invade someone's home except on the orders of the law court. It's an absurdity and an aberration and every right thinking human being should condemn it. This guy ha sa case in court for crying out loud. Why exacerbate the issue by towing the path of unconstitutionality? |
HeWrites:Help me understand it properly....is what they're smoking illegal? |
HopeAtHand:Nwanne, you just look at it critically. Nnamdi Kanu has ome craziness in him but this statement was a metaphor and not literal. How can someone that has never been sighted with armory be saying he wants to go and bring Buhari's head. He's an idiot but not a murderer. It may seem that i support Nnamdi Kanu but i don't really. But i don't throw away the baby with the bath water. he has said some pretty lousy things but he has also said some things that make sense and most importantly, i won't leave my people for dead (Igbos) no matter what. The day Nnamdi Kanu or anybody that claims they're IPOB carries a gun, that's the day i'll call for their head just like i condemned the group of Igbo youths that were looking for Hausa people to kill in Abia as well as in Obigbo. |
I've always wondered what this shisha is. is it actually drugs cos people are not always afraid to show people that they're smoking it. What exactly are they smoking from that pipe? |
shukuokukobambi:Calm down and do the thinking for yourself. Were you expecting Kanu to go to Abuja and actually bring Buhari's head. Are you people kids for christ sake? We all know Kanu has a caustic tongue and says things that makes people hyper but saying he will bring Buhari's head without him or his group ever seen with weapons is... |
sainty2k3:He said "I will go to Abuja and bring Buhari's head." Some people obviously don't know what a metaphor is. We have a lot of educated illiterates in this country who have refused to use their god given brain. Until someone if armed to the teeth, you can't label them a terrorist organization. Kiss the truth and forever be free. |
bilms:Civil war. I'm surprised that was so hard for you except you're just playing to the gallery like always. |
I have always maintained that women should not dish out what they don't want in return from men. Anyone woman that hits a man deserves same in return. The only grey area i see here is the juxtaposition between verbal and physical abuse. For instance, by popular wisdom, it's okaw for a woman to thoroughly and consistent verbally accuse her husband but not okay for a man to use his physical advantage because the latter can produce physical injuries while the former will not. I think emotional abuse is as bad or even worse than physical abuse. Some men's self esteem have left them and is currently chilling somewhere around Onitsha and we think it's okay? What is good is good for the gooose is good for the gander and i think a law should be passed to protect men that are being abused verbally. That's not to say that we don't have inherently evil men who take out frustrations on their wives for no tangible reason. So, every issue of domestic violence should be judged based on it's merits. |
bilms:Yes, it is true that Igbos are not the only marginalized groups. Almost every Nigerian is marginalized and this marginalization is the direct disconect between our respective leaders and the common people. I think that is an established fact. Now, when Igbos talk about marginalization, they're not talking about the marginalization that exist between Hausa and Yoruba leaders and their respective people because Igbos also have that. They're talking about the marginalization that exists between the federal government and Igbos specifically. Atleast we can all agree that Igbos makeup the third leg that this nation was built on as one of the 3 major ethnic groups. Now when we compare what accrues to the other two compared to the Igbos, you will understand what i'm talking about. I will just pick few areas to explain my point. In the first republic, Nigeria had 4 regions. The North, East, West and Mid West. Three of the four regions were in the south while one was in the north. Today that one region in the north now has 3 regions while the 3 regions in the south still remain with minor adjustments. The 3 regions in the north ave a total of 19 states while the regions in the south have a total of 17 states. Kano state alone has 44 local government and other states in the north also have more local governments compared with their commensurate states elsewhere in the country. The number of local government wouldn't have been an issue exceot for the fact that it being used for revenue allocation. Meaning that those 19 states in the north will have allocations each. The 44 local governments in kano will also have allocations each as well. As if that's not bad enough even our largest oil producing state of Imo has even less allocation than the average state in the north. Needless to say we have only 5 states, the lowest in all the regions and even the 5 states collect some of the lowest allocations in the federation. That's that. Now, another area is in the distribution of projects. Can you tell me why most military organizations or government institutions in Nigeria are in the north? Not even one in the east? Can you tell me why federal character benefits the north so much that every parastatal you work into is filled to the brim with northerners and this is the same people that governments says are educationally disadvantaged but are somehow at the top echelon of administrative conveniences in the country. |
Noneroone:If you read my assertion properly, you'll realize that we're not on the same page. I never said abything about eastern Nigeria being it's own sovereign nation even though i don't doubt that that could also work. I'm talking specifically about regions or states being able to control their resources and decide how they want to develop. |
