Abagworo:
Hundreds of thousands of women today marched the streets of Owerri in support of Okorocha's free education.
And they all happened to be carrying exactly the same kind of placards? Abeg, tak another thing.

Of course I know that, read my post again.
It's not in my place to advise anyone. Everybody sees things from their own vantage point and in this world, there are many truths. it depends on which ones you want to subscribe to. As for me, i only refer to people exactly how they want to be refereed but that's not to say i have no reservation about what is Igbo and what is not.

This carnival thing has become disgusting in my eyes. They should do something else abeg. How about hosting a festival that unites all the parts of Akwa Ibom in the state capital, Uyo.

Same thing we've been telling some Biafran secessionists with expansionist agenda all these years. At least you got the message, you can now advice some of your misguided kinsmen.
I think you're talking to the wrong person. I accepted the new truth a long time ago.

JeffreyJamez:
If you want to see deprivation of all forms, go up North. Yet they don't scream marginalization. When igbos scream marginalization I tend to wonder what they want except Power. Because Igbos are Everywhere doing legitimate businesses without hindrance from anyone. The Eastern States get their monthly Federal revenue like every other state. So what is the marginalization they keep ranting about?.
So, who's depriving the north?
PoliticsRe: Okorocha Bans THISDAY, Vanguard Correspondents by Afam4eva(m): 12:29pm On Sep 18, 2017
I'm surprised its Abagworo that's reporting this kind of news. Is it possible he sees nothing wrong with it and how it affects his principal?
PoliticsRe: The Truth About The Hausas by Afam4eva(m): 12:14pm On Sep 18, 2017
I really don't understand where the writer is going with the article. I'm having a feeling that she feels that Hausas are the most marginalized just because people insult them. So, i'll address the issue on two fronts.

Marginalization is based on political and economic deprivation and not necessarily on an individual basis and because people from a particular group are insulted does not mean they are marginalized especially if the leaders from their areas control most of the political structures in the country.

Though i'll agree with your assertion as to how poor Hausa people are debased and the butt of everyone's jokes. The average Nigerian see them are uneducated and uninspiring people who have nothing to offer society, so they call them names such as Aboki (in jest) or gambari, boko haram and so on and every right thinking person should find such behaviors abhorrent.

I also find them to be the most kind and selfless people. I know because i've interacted with people from different tribes in Nigeria.

But that's where it ends.

even if he didn't mean it, that statement alone is enough for him to be arrested...
I'm not necessarily against his being arrested. I'm concerned that some people think that the statement he made is the reason he was labelled a terrorist and not because he was armed. Instead of arresting him for violating his bail conditions, they chose to send soldiers to wreck havoc and some people are cheering them on.

It's a shame that something that held a bit of promise has crumbled totally simply cos of lack of tact in approach.

That said, i believe that Nigeria still has a date with destiny.
Nnamdi Kanu is a maverick and the thing with mavericks is that they go all out. It's either they succeed or fail woefully. The only reason why IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu gained massive traction was because of his personality (or his ginger). If he had followed the advise of a lot of us sensible folks, the movement wouldn't have even gained quarter of the popularity that it gained. it would be no different from MASSOB.

Another reason why he was bound to fail is the same reason any secessionist group in Nigeria will fail. The most peaceful way to go about this thing is for groups such as IPOB to beam their searchlight on the political landscape of their proclaimed territory and even form a party that they can use their followership to dominate leadership in the east and after gathering momentum through representation, they can now formally opt out through their elected officials.

IPOB though a secessionist group is no where near a terrorist organization. Also, The military do not have the constitutional rights to pronounce any group or organization a terrorist organisation.

That said, the approach of Nnamdi Kanu to his secessionist drive for Biafra shows someone who at a point lost touch with reality. Nigeria is not Europe. He should have known where to draw the line with his vile comments, threats and insults. It was needless of him to use hate towards against other tribes, unnecessary to insult the president and threaten to have his head.

If he had kept it at an intellectual level, it would have been more appealing to the intelligentsia and elites.

I know as an Igbo, any analysis or comment from you on IPOB and their excesses will always be subjective, but still we cant hide the truth of the matter.

You don't come into a third-world country like Nigeria where presidential powers are fully bestowed on the president, and you create a secessionist movement, create a secret service and a police force to that effect and threaten threaten the life of the president(so much for metaphor) without getting a reaction from the authorities. Sincerely we all saw it coming.
I agree with you totally and all the comments in the past that i've made concerning IPOB and their activities lends credence to the fact that i did not approve of their modus operandi.

Who cares what you think. If he made a statement that is considered treacherous, why not leave the law courts to take it's full course? Ohh i forgot, they thought they wouldn't have a strong case. You people are just moving from pillar to post to find a reason to justify the terrorism tag placed on him and it's becoming embarrassing really.

I always knew he couldn't do jack. I'm very sure the albino hunchback can't slaughter Christmas fowl as hes proving to be an empty coward but don't doubt the efficacy of his words on the brainless thugs who are ready to die for him. The idiots who were pelting armed soldiers with stones will not hesitate to do something worse in obedience to their new god.

you see when the case gets to court in these days of terrorism, nobody will listen that he was making a figure of speech. Now police claim they saw bombs, guns etc in his house (which my mind tells me were planted). How will a man who asked his followers, under oath, to burn down Nigeria prove the munitions were not his?
It's still really isn't a problem if he is charged to court and this speech of his is taken literally. My concern is the people who are using this video as the reason why the army invaded his home. Under no circumstances should the military invade someone's home except on the orders of the law court. It's an absurdity and an aberration and every right thinking human being should condemn it. This guy ha sa case in court for crying out loud. Why exacerbate the issue by towing the path of unconstitutionality?

Afam, I don't understand why you support Nnamdi Kanu and his lousiness.

Pls explain the meaning of " I will go to Abuja and bring Buharis head".. explain logically.
Nwanne, you just look at it critically. Nnamdi Kanu has ome craziness in him but this statement was a metaphor and not literal. How can someone that has never been sighted with armory be saying he wants to go and bring Buhari's head. He's an idiot but not a murderer.

It may seem that i support Nnamdi Kanu but i don't really. But i don't throw away the baby with the bath water. he has said some pretty lousy things but he has also said some things that make sense and most importantly, i won't leave my people for dead (Igbos) no matter what. The day Nnamdi Kanu or anybody that claims they're IPOB carries a gun, that's the day i'll call for their head just like i condemned the group of Igbo youths that were looking for Hausa people to kill in Abia as well as in Obigbo.

Some people obviously don't know what a metaphor is. We have a lot of educated illiterates in this country who have refused to use their god given brain. Until someone if armed to the teeth, you can't label them a terrorist organization. Kiss the truth and forever be free.

FamilyRe: Today's Experience Changed My View On Domestic Violence by Afam4eva(m):
I have always maintained that women should not dish out what they don't want in return from men. Anyone woman that hits a man deserves same in return. The only grey area i see here is the juxtaposition between verbal and physical abuse. For instance, by popular wisdom, it's okaw for a woman to thoroughly and consistent verbally accuse her husband but not okay for a man to use his physical advantage because the latter can produce physical injuries while the former will not. I think emotional abuse is as bad or even worse than physical abuse. Some men's self esteem have left them and is currently chilling somewhere around Onitsha and we think it's okay? What is good is good for the gooose is good for the gander and i think a law should be passed to protect men that are being abused verbally.

That's not to say that we don't have inherently evil men who take out frustrations on their wives for no tangible reason. So, every issue of domestic violence should be judged based on it's merits.
PoliticsRe: Is Igbo Really Marginalized? Let’s Discuss by Afam4eva(m): 5:48pm On Sep 17, 2017

This is an opportunity for you to bring forth you arguement.

As at the time of civil war, igbo had 2 presidents. Hausa has none, Yoruba has none, Fulani has none. Can we say igbo are marginalizing them at that period?

If not, why is igbo claiming marginalization simply because other tribes are simply being represented as igbo had been represented?

This is an open discussion.

Feel free to bring forth your arguement. You are most welcome. One love
Yes, it is true that Igbos are not the only marginalized groups. Almost every Nigerian is marginalized and this marginalization is the direct disconect between our respective leaders and the common people. I think that is an established fact.

Now, when Igbos talk about marginalization, they're not talking about the marginalization that exist between Hausa and Yoruba leaders and their respective people because Igbos also have that. They're talking about the marginalization that exists between the federal government and Igbos specifically. Atleast we can all agree that Igbos makeup the third leg that this nation was built on as one of the 3 major ethnic groups. Now when we compare what accrues to the other two compared to the Igbos, you will understand what i'm talking about. I will just pick few areas to explain my point.

In the first republic, Nigeria had 4 regions. The North, East, West and Mid West. Three of the four regions were in the south while one was in the north. Today that one region in the north now has 3 regions while the 3 regions in the south still remain with minor adjustments. The 3 regions in the north ave a total of 19 states while the regions in the south have a total of 17 states. Kano state alone has 44 local government and other states in the north also have more local governments compared with their commensurate states elsewhere in the country.

The number of local government wouldn't have been an issue exceot for the fact that it being used for revenue allocation. Meaning that those 19 states in the north will have allocations each. The 44 local governments in kano will also have allocations each as well. As if that's not bad enough even our largest oil producing state of Imo has even less allocation than the average state in the north. Needless to say we have only 5 states, the lowest in all the regions and even the 5 states collect some of the lowest allocations in the federation. That's that.

Now, another area is in the distribution of projects. Can you tell me why most military organizations or government institutions in Nigeria are in the north? Not even one in the east? Can you tell me why federal character benefits the north so much that every parastatal you work into is filled to the brim with northerners and this is the same people that governments says are educationally disadvantaged but are somehow at the top echelon of administrative conveniences in the country.

Noneroone:
wow...are you beginning to get some sense.thought you were among those calling for kanu's head. without a people getting their independence in their own sovereign nation, they will never have the power to make macro economic policies which is the foundation of economic development. Any Igbo denying this is either benefitting from nigerian corruption or a plain coward.
If you read my assertion properly, you'll realize that we're not on the same page. I never said abything about eastern Nigeria being it's own sovereign nation even though i don't doubt that that could also work. I'm talking specifically about regions or states being able to control their resources and decide how they want to develop.
