ACV for weight loss-
drink  ACV a few days a wk. but drink only 1 tsp. anything more will damage your insides. ACV is strong.
it's like drinking bleach. it wipes out the crap.

i don't drink it for weight loss. i drink it for stomach ache. it also make my skin/hair shiny. and
and it keeps the white in your eye bright (if that matters)  cool

omonaija1, what are ur problems? redness, large pimples, small bumps, oily skin, dry skin?
i've also had problem skin. but what helps is sticking to a regime for a long time. if u keep changing products,
ur skin can never relax. u just started the tea tree a few weeks ago. maybe u need time?

quote from throttler:

me n my hair need a memoir someday Cry. since 2004 when i relocated to jos, nigeria, my hair literally died. i have chopped it every year or rather it chops itself off, combined with 3 childbirths, and contraceptives. i am trying to choose a new contraceptive with less effects now, hey! i need contraceptives cos i jump huby like there is no tomorrow, and will have a football team if i dont take contras, i need to! Tongue

anyway, i foolishly put a perm in my 1.2yr natural hair, thinking it will help stop the shedding, i get with natural hair. i have started using emami amla oil, and its helping, but i miss my natural hair Cry, i will make a decision to transition again

i guess trudging longhaircareforum wasnt enough to sustain my will, but i learnt a lot about hair in that forum.

i do the apple cider vinegar thingy for weight loss, though i am not consistent, the tangy taste helps keep me away from biiiiggggggg foood Grin.
so ur concern is hair loss, right?
maybe the chemical relaxer ur using is too strong or maybe ur keeping it in too long.
FashionRe: All About The Au Natural! by africhika(op): 10:28pm On Oct 06, 2009
natural regime for colder months? like skincare?

apple cider vinegar is GREATTTTTTTTTTT for weight loss.
i ain't tryna lose weight (my family would kill me if i tried) but, i use it to keep my insides clean.
losing weight is all about cleaning those fat-clogged tubes cool

Voyeuristic East Asian women enjoy homoerotic displays from men
   ewww  undecided

Ancient and medieval writings recorded a large number of instances in which Chinese and Japanese women either spied on, or publicly enjoyed homoerotic performances from men, and also enjoyed men as sexual entertainment in other ways. These stories flies in the face of Western cliches of oppressed Oriental women, whose sexuality is controlled by men.

In modern-day Japan, the main market for gay romance/pornography comic books is heterosexual women
! This phenomenon, known as yaoi, is also popular in the Chinese world and has only recently started catching on in the West relatively. East Asian female sexuality has existed INDEPENDENTLY of pleasing men for thousands of years. Yet this idea is never represented in Western popular media.

Many Westerners have the idea that East Asian women are conditioned to take care of others and put the needs of their men before their own. In American films, sexism and racism combine to create a fantasy world in which yellow women exist to serve the pleasures of white men. Whenever you see a yellow woman on American TV or the big screen, she is almost always the love interest of a white man, there to serve as eye-candy and fodder for erotic fantasies about a mysterious Other. It is a wonder then, that after all this media conditioning, many males of European descent confessed their fantasies about indulging in one man-multiple woman group sex with multiple Asian women? There are many white boys who think only of how Asian women can serve them, but not how *they* can serve Asian women. (Now doesn't that make men of European descent just as oppressive as the East Asian men they stereotype as sexist exploiters of Asian women?)
CultureRe: A Culture Full Of Abuses Of Women - One Man Married 4 Women In A Joint Wedding! by africhika(f): 8:08pm On Oct 04, 2009
^^ there have been several polyandrous societies in south asia thru out history.

among the mosuo people in china, one woman selects several guys to have sex with. she doesn't have to marry them. in fact, mosuo discourage woman from marrying becuz they believe it will tie her down. mosuo men, though, can only have 1 wife.  grin

some cultures in nepal also have polyandry. but it's a fading tradition  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4461196.stm

the nair people in kerala state, india- the children belong to the mother. women marry several husbands. men move back to their mother's home after wedding.

in meghalaya, north india, women are polyandrous. they also own the land. lately, men have been protesting for equal rights and are frustrated with having to share a wife.

i'm single but my ex had nice taste. her dressed kinda like a white guy. laid back, no baggy jeans, open toe sandals. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. smiley
and boy he could pick out a suit. he didn't like flash. cool cuz i can't stand flashy men. yeah, i trusted his taste.

my mom NEVER trusted my dad's taste. whenever he came down the stairs for church, me, my mom and my 4 sis would evaluate his clothes until he HAD to go back and change. he dresses like bill cosby. brownish sweaters with black blazers shocked sweet ole' papa

hey what's wrong with eze and the fisherman? cool

there's a fantasy book out by author Nnedi Okorafor-Mbachu called Zahra the Windseeker. i haven't read it but from the summary, it seems like it blended aspects of 9ja culture into a fantasy book.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here is the summary:
Zahrah the Windseeker is not only an eponymous story of Zahrah Tsami, the protagonist of the story; it is a book of adventures, possibilities, and unknown realities. The novel beckons us all: young and old into a world where all things are possible, a world without borders, free from the restrictions that our reality places on us. Zahrah was born a ‘dada’ a child with dreadlocks, with green vines woven into it. This implies
that she has supernatural powers that she did not get to know until she was thirteen, after her first menstruation. Initially her uniqueness was a burden that separated her and made her the clown of the class.

The world of Zahrah is a world with a magical stint. A world of CPU seeds, digibooks, netevisions, talking compasses, hydrogen and flora-powered cars, leaf-clipping and mending beetles, to mention a few. It is a world that connects the present with the distant past and the unknown future; a world of in-betweenness’.

Now to the story: Zahrah and Dari are friends; Dari continues to search for knowledge, he believes that there is more to the world than Ooni kingdom. This passion for the unknown fuels his drive for adventure as he visits the Dark Market (a mythical world of evil) which is not entirely true. The Dark Market is the beginning of their exploration into the world of the unknown. Their thirst for knowledge leads them into the Forbidden Green Jungle on the outskirts of the village, an entirely different civilization shrouded by myths of evil, intended to stop people from discovering it. On one of their journeys to the jungle, Dari is bitten by a war snake; the effect: a coma; the cure: an unfertilized elgort egg. What is an elgort? According to the Forbidden Greeny Jungle Guide: it is a nasty beast, the most deadly in the Greeny Jungle, the Ultimate killing machine.

What did Zahrah do? Did Dari die?

@poster,i must commend your efforts in looking for a solution to your girlfriend's challenge.

if you go to the root of this, she might be doing it because of you!, Yes you! She might have observed you staring at other fair girls more often than the dark ones and wants to satisfy your colour preference.Maybe you prefer beyonce to naomi campbell, and there's absolutely nothing wrong in her trying to please you,she only used the wrong approach.
ooooh, girl no u didn't just speak the truth! i was thinkng bout this too
okay, 1st why is everyone blaming this lady? why do we ALWAYS blame and throw curses at the lady? yes, she is the one applying the bleach but there is something more

maybe she has noticed that her guy looks at fair skinned females.

every lady should know that males SAY one thing and DO another.  i know tooooooo many guys that say "black is beautiful" but only lust after girls like alicia keys. look at rappers like COMMON and TALIB KWELI and NAS, even KANYE. they have all these "black beauty" songs but they hardly ever date black chicks ! i know i'm digressing, but i'm passionate about this.

maybe this lady is just in LOVE with you lagos_boy and has sensed that you have a deep preference 4 light skin? i'm NOT making accusations, just throwing the possibility out there. maybe she felt that u liked her light skin (i'm sure she was bleaching when u met her) and she  wanted to make sure it never darkened with age/sunlight.
