Ibime: You haff come again. Yes City did control the midfield but we won because we had men on the pitch sitting deep and putting in shifts while Passenger Mata was on the bench where he should be and £35m irreplaceable defender was not there to cause calamity. |
coogar: ramires ate toure & fernandinho....schurrle mauled them too when he came inside. chelsea shoulda scored about 3 in the first half. Why are you lying on Welbeck? ![]() We are saying the same thing.Torres record for Chelsea is at the same level as great strikers like Pizarro,Welbeck e.t.c For a 50m striker he appears quite prolific |
coogar: the same torres scored 23 goals in all competitions last season. the same torres won the golden boot at euro 2012 & confed cup this year. i doubt any german striker has such records since i was born.On second thoughts you actually have a valid point.....his record of 16 EPL goals in 89 matches is quite awesome, especially for a 50m pound striker. Its actually a bit worse than Danny Welbeck's record of 13 EPL goals in 71 matches for Manchester United, but then we all know how deadly a finisher Welbeck is ![]() |
coogar: fück me - how shyte was cech for the aguero goal?I was just agreeing with you that the last striker to have torres' record was in 2007/2008 ![]() His record like i said for this year is quite amazing......2 EPL goals in 26 matches/10 months. A bit steep for 50 million pounds but who are we to complain, after all its Roman's money ![]() |
coogar: leave the haters alone - the last time a chelsea striker had this kinda performance was in 2007.You are right on point as usual. It was indeed 2007/2008 season when Claudio Pizarro had 2 goals from 21 league matches. Torres is in exalted company ![]() |
The guy is actually doing very well.......2 goals in 26 EPL matches ![]() |
Katsumoto: Never thought I would see the day that manure fans would rubbish Rio.Its not a matter of rubbishing Rio, its about knowing when to call it a day. Nobody can go on for ever and right now Rio is showing symptoms of his age and his bad back. |
the guy is a baaad boy |
LOL he be like say the guy chop Agege bread today, akamu no b food. |
GOAL! What a goal by torreesss!!! oh NOOOOOOOO........he missed it! ![]() however kudos to him, he kept good shape for the shot # shapekeeper....... 1 goal in 25 EPL matches |
montelik: shebi I talk am. he hasn't even thoroughly justified the 250k and now he wants a raise. its a pity cos I believe moyes desperation and lack of stature will lead to talks not working out to our favor.there should be no talks! once he asks for a pay rise sell him. if he thinks he is so good let him go and battle cavani and ibra for shirt |
elampiro: What! How can you compare Hernadez header from the middle of the goal with keeper already wrong footed to Rooney's tightest of angle header when he had to stretch to his limit after the ball beat a tall defender. ![]() confession aiye.....lol |
elampiro: He may have the goals and assists but it doesn't take away the fact that it easier to mark him out now. I think he might be doing what the coach wants of him. But my opinion is that our best players should all be involved in the creativity. Cleverley pushed forward to try and create but he lacked the skills in that area of the pitch. I was expecting a situation where those who could have done it better all be involved. That's the way it works in Man City and Barca. No 'Inzaghi'.RVPs athleticism is not like it was last year or 2 seasons ago no doubt. I don't know if its age, fitness, injuries or just his weight gain. However he is not an "Inzaghi", his build up play is still decent and he brings more to the table than Pippo. Its easier to mark him not really because of him but because the play from midfield and the wings is SLOW and often predictable. If we play higher up the pitch and move the ball around faster with more incisive passing and good movement off the ball our strikers will score goals |
elrony: Central midfield was shiite yesterday...slow n erratic!!...cleverley disappeared, carrick was was sloppy...kagawa had to do most of our ball distribution yesterday!! that was not the only reason. valencia definitely helped but still there were times that adnan was double teamed and he still made the right decision unlike nani that tries to break jam lock by force. Also remember januzaj had been on for almost 20mins before Valencia came on. |
elrony: PSG should be on the alert,biko!!...Offload the guy abeg! He is a good player and not as bad as some paint him to be BUT it seems his greed knows no bounds and he is getting too expensive. |
elrony: I quite agree with the bolded as one of our team's key problems!!the problem is central midfield and then wing play. Notice the difference whenever adnan comes on and takes hold of the wing |
coogar: he scored a goal yesterday & assisted rooney's goal - how's he a minus one when he goes about his job quietly & effectively?RVP had a good game yesterday. He had the goal, the assist, the key passes e.t.c Our forwards i,e RVP,Rooney and Hernandez are not the problems with this team. The problems have been central midfield and wing play and recently the defense has gotten really nervy. Medium term i have few issues with the defense (young GK and defenders who would only get better) but if we can improve our midfield play and if our wingers regain just a lil form you would see the difference in the team |
RuuDie: You're right, Smalling did not help Nani's cause at all.Smalling is not a RB. He does not know the runs to make or even when to make the runs, he is too scared to overlap and his crossing is poor. He has NO BUSINESS playing RB ( combating stoke's height is not good enough an excuse). All it did was limit our attacking game and they still dominated us in the air. Against this jeko jeko teams at Old Trafford we have to dictate the terms especially this early in Moyes tenure. Nani was not helped by Smalling's timidity but Nani did not help his own cause too. He sometimes appears to lack the intelligence to understand game dynamics. Most good players when they are having a poor game relax and let the game come to them and sooner or later they get into the flow and strike when opportunity presents itself. In Nani's case when he is having a poor game he gets more and more desperate and makes unwise decisions like trying to dribble half the opposing team or shooting from 40yards. |
coogar: 80% if rooney pulls his head out of his arsë. the rumour now is rooney wants £300k/ week before he signs another 5-year contract. It does not depend only on Rooney. Moyes is the one that needs to pull his head out of his arse. Rooney has to be more consistent no doubt but we also need better performances from Nani,Young,Fellaini and all our defenders. If the rumor is true please Rooney should be offloaded to Monaco or Madrid. |
elampiro: Starboard amazed me with the Rio stuff.I agree with you Rio is past it and surely must be pensioned off at the end of this season. He has NO PACE and tends to sit back meaning there is more space for Carrick and the other midfielders to cover and this leads into open runs at the defense from opposing players. Also when isolated one on one with an opponent he is now a liability. For Vida i am not so sure yet but he seems to be on the steep downward slope but just might be fitness issues. If he can hold the fort until the end of next season that would be good news. By then Jones,Evans should have sorted themselves out plus or minus a world class center back. Smalling is pretty poor on the ball and never looks confident defending. If Jones can improve his positional play i have more hopes for him than Smalling but the first thing is to stop playing those boys in multiple positions. Play them as center backs only and if they cant make the first 11 they sit on the bench. Playing Jones in 3 positions seems to have confused the boy as to correct positioning and Smalling appears worse every additional day i see him at RB |
dademola: instead of supporting d club and pointing out loopholes in an objective manner, some pple here are more concerned with hating rooney! That is the problem. A lot of extreme positions here, and one thing i know........extreme positions are rarely right or even logical. |
StarBoard: I think you have to put the Rooney criticism into perspective. Some good points. I actually wanted Rooney offloaded during the off season (but to a foreign club) cos i felt we could then improve the team by bringing in a younger and more natural no 10. But with wayward and gollum's transfer policies i am happy for now that we still have the option of rooney's services ( moyes might have sold rooney and bought osman )I am not pro or anti rooney, i am pro United. the criticism of rooney as the major reason for our problems is too harsh, similarly those that ALWAYS jump to rooney's defense are misguided.....it is Manchester United not Rooney United. Like i said a few months ago he is not the most gifted player i have seen in my time supporting United and neither is he the most committed,so he should stop holding the club to ransom over contract talks every year( heard another is brewing again). Having said all that the solution to the malaise is more complex than simply replacing rooney in the lineup |
BinghiNya: Elampiro and Dademola our guy Rooney is keeping haters like coogar silent. Coogar where is the Rooney stats againLOL When Rooney plays badly the long knives come out to assassinate his character but when he is good they keep silent. Rooney had a very good game yesterday. His touch and control was better and he was able to shield the ball properly and lay off accurate passes more often than not. He passed both the eye test and STATS test yesterday and was our best player IMO over 90 mins (Januzaj was better than everyone though when he came on). Having said all that this is the kind of performance expected from Rooney on a regular basis considering the money he is being paid, his seniority in the team and the level of experience he has and of course his star status for the England national team. |
SIR cum a lot:But was he really useful in doing that? What he obviously did was limit our attacking play on the right side AND continue the escort service he started for opponents since the City match |
omo the 3 points dey crucial |
elampiro: My Neyman don score fine goal against my Madrid.Neymar |
elampiro: My Neyman don score fine goal against my Madrid.. |
Purist: Gotta give DM some credit here. His subs were on point today. GGMU!Good subs. But there was no need to play Smalling at RB, no need to start Januzaj on the bench and Valencia should have started ahead of Nani considering Valencia's good midweek performance |
Dayo please play me Mobolowowon by DBanj (Eja nla of life) ![]() |
we have to push on, to withdraw now could be dangerous |
The defenders are playing as if blindfolded Nani should not step on to field for the 2nd half, also consider Kagawa off.....we are playing too narrow and Stoke are crowding the defence. Valencia on to the right and Januzaj on to the left to stretch and open up play. For our defence.........prayers are needed in this game |
Omo see gobe! |
