Smalling has shown that positionally he does not know how to play the RB position
Hope today is not one of Nani's off days

royale442: I'm not comfortable with this ur line up but i'm sure Kagawa and VP will start.
i am not sure RVP is fit enough to start.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 7:33am On Oct 26, 2013
I think a lineup like this would not be bad

----------------de gea

----rafael----jones/vidic----evans----evra

-----------carrick----fellaini------

----valencia----kagawa----januzaj

---------------rooney--------

RVP,Chicharito,Nani,Anderson,Smalling on the bench

elampiro: I stopped paying serious attention to the world athletics and indoor games many years now. But I know that's where naija people can manage to pick medals. Lol
Ok

elampiro: 2008 Olympics Britain 19 golds, Germany 16 golds.

2012 Olympics Britain 29 golds, Germany 11golds.

The gap is widening. We are going to see this in football soon.
You are right
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:38pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: Who takes this serious? The only place Nigeria sprinters win medals. I guess too this is where they use to run 60m instead of 100m.
You obviously have a narrow knowledge base and not quite deep either.
the 60M is an indoor event and not run at the World Athlete Championships, the only times it was run at a major international outdoor competition was actually at the olympics
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:24pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: This is a novelty meeting when you compare it with Olympics games. How many games are involved?
ok let me EDUCATE you. Please do not reject knowledge
in the history of the athletic championships the score is 13-1 in favor of Germany
in the history of the Olympic games the score is 20-9 in favor of Germany.
And in case u were wondering 5 of Britain's 9 in the Olympics came in the first 40years of the Olympics before the 2nd world war when they were still playing table soccer cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:16pm On Oct 25, 2013
Elampiro your assignment is to find the world athletic championships where Britain did better than Germany cheesy

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:13pm On Oct 25, 2013
at the athletic championships before that in 2011 Germany was also above Britain.
where are these your british athletes?
Germany was above them also in 2009
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:11pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: Population and economy might na.

For sports Britain bench them.
at the last world athletic championships( this year) Germany was above Britain , are you aware of that?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 11:01pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: Population:

The whole of Britain is 60m

Germany is 80m

Yet most of the athletes are from England which is 50m.

Germany should be shred into smaller countries. Too big and powerful in Europe.

Now they are too big and powerful?
Just a few posts ago you implied that they were weak and had used table soccer to win most of their medals.
make up your mind cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:54pm On Oct 25, 2013
dayokanu: If England is adding Scotland Wales and Ireland.

Should we also add France Holland and Austria to Germany.
U dont even need to do that.
From 1960 to 1988 WEST Germany beat United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in every olympic games table.
After unification Germany continued to beat them in every olympic game until the 2008 olympics.
That is 48 straight years of domination but as elampiro says it was all because of table soccer grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:34pm On Oct 25, 2013
chamotex: Only elampiro has watched table soccer at the olympics before
LOL
What are you implying? cheesy

elampiro: Hahaha.

Those days there were plenty medals in shooting. Any one who worked for Hitler would definitely be a sharp shooter. Things like that that are no longer relevant.

shocked

My people perish for lack of knowledge.Because thou hast rejected knowledge, i will also reject thee....... cheesy

elampiro: Brazil is the best primarily on number of world cups won. But again the confederation kings. Champion of Champions.

In olympics, some useless games have been dropped. Now the real sports games played by many countries have been given priority. Table soccer and temo kind of sports which boosted weak countries in the past are gone forever. Now the real sports men are making statements.

hahaha . are you for real?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:14pm On Oct 25, 2013
Brazil also is the holder of the last FIFA organized cup for champions of champions- Confederation cup. They beat Spain 3-0.

Moreover, football is a one game and it is easy to tell the best country. Unlike Sports generally, some games have been phased out while more medals given to some sports than others based on contemporary interests.

Those days it was easy to win many medals via shooting or playing temo

cheesy I hear you
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:08pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: Olympic is a combination of many games, not just one. The British are gain complete dominance in some of the games. Now they triumphed twice. I guess they even beat Russia the last time.

It is not a one off victory in 2008. Two consecutive run meant they are here to stay. They are now a better Sports people than Germans.

On the other head, Brazil holds the confederation cup at the expense of Spain, the European champion.
LOL to judge the best in sports you use the olympics but to judge the best in football you dump the world cup and use the confederations cup cheesy
Can you see the anomaly in your reasoning?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:59pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: I was talking about last olympics. The British have taken over since 2008 and they are widening the gap.
LOL if you are talking about the last olypmics how can you then say Brazil is the best country in football? grin
How many world cups have been held since Brazil last won?
Your criterion is not consistent.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:43pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: How many gold medals did Germany win in last olympics? Compare with Britain. The British are stronger in the track and Swimming. May be even Basket ball and Golf.
Since u mentioned Brazil as the best in football i assume when you are comparing these countries you are talking about overall performance in the olympics not performance in just the last one.
I believe you did not start watching the olympics 5yrs ago.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:40pm On Oct 25, 2013
Actually remove Germany from that list.
And if u take the time and effort to add olympic medals you will see just how wrong you are.
historically the Germans are the 3rd most successful in the last 3 to 4 decades after the Russians and Americans.
UK is not even close, their resurgence just started in 2008.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:31pm On Oct 25, 2013
elampiro: You want us to go into details or elaborate? The British are better sports people than Spanish, Germans and Italians put together. Go and add all the gold medals of all the three whether they got close to what Britain won at the olympics. The British command some sports/games.

Italy, Germany, Spain are not the best in football. It's Brazil. So also England is the 2nd best in Cricket and one of the best in Rugby. In the tracks, the British are better too. I stop here for now.
not sure about that one bro.

elampiro: What does Dayokanu & co enjoy in Bindesliga sef? Over 90% of their matches are not only boring but annoying. See Stuttgart vs Nurberg is like punishment to me. Every five minutes I saw was like I took 6 stroke of the cane. Now I ended with a body pain. It is tantamount to watching Kuwait U21 vs Venezuela U21.

I will rather see QPR vs Wigan.
LOL

Lampard played often in the no 10 position for Chelsea in those years, the problem is he did not (and still does not) have the technique, vision and overall skill level we have come to associate with that position.
He played as a no10 but he did not play like a no10 cheesy

okay performance in summary but its not yet uhuru
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:04pm On Oct 23, 2013
this was one of our better performances of the season albeit against a team in poor form. The defense was okay and not as disorganized as we have been seeing and there was far more movement and sharp passing in midfield and in attacking areas.
The rooney/kagawa combo showed some promise in the last 15 minutes, however when RVP comes back big decisions would have to be made.
IMO since RVP is nursing niggling injuries i would start kagawa behind rooney in the Stoke match with RVP on the bench JUST TO SEE IF THERE IS PROMISE IN THIS PARTNERSHIP.
And of course baba giggs woke up on the right side of the bed today
