Woeful for four straight four seasons indeed. You are just one of those who wanted him out at all cost.
Yeah he had to go.

I remember when he left, fan boys like you were thinking a big club will pick him until he stayed at home for a whole year like a nursing mother before una eye clear 🤣🤣🤣

If he had gone to a big club and started performing I am sure we won’t have rested here. E shock una! Hehehe

Offloading him was always the right decision and should have happened earlier.
Replacing him with Onana was the wrong move and I warned about this even though you and patrick were begging us to sign him. cry cry cry

Player FC no be for player like De Gea. Loyal servant of the club.

At a point Arsenal had Raya and Ramsdale. Chelsea has Mendy and Kepa. I don't think it's bad to have had Onana and De Gea and see how it goes.

The hate for De Gea was just greater than the desire to improve the team.
Loyal servant of the club who was woeful for 4 straight seasons. After he started letting in cheap goals in 2018 he should have been offloaded by 2020 at the latest but because of misplaced loyalty we kept him for years for him to keep dealing with us.

You just demonstrated the perfect example of Player FC by the way. 😀
Defending a player from perfectly reasonable criticism, just because of some sense of loyalty to him due what he had done in the past.

De Gea's main issue was 'ball playing' and maybe command of the box. But we can all see how well one of the best ball players played the ball.

I stand my ground that no keeper brought here in the time Onana came would have excelled.

Is it how weak our players have been when we concede a corner or how lazy they are to contest for balls?
So you are saying Onana’s problem was poor defence and not him?

You are saying Onana is not a problem? Is that what you are saying?

I wanted DDG out long before ball playing became an issue. I wanted Henderson to get the job instead of him while Ole was here.

DDG spent at least 3 years longer than necessary in this club, partly because the Glazers and Woodward act paralysed when it’s time to get rid of flopping players, and partly because our fans idolise players to an extreme.

Was De Gea that bad that he had to be let go at all cost?

Was he problematic, asking for a pay rise?

Person wey just win Golden glove.
Onana was Top 6 in Golden Glove in the EPL the season he bundled us out of the UCL. He was 8th last season and yet it can be argued he has been the worst GK in the league over those 2 years.

Golden Glove is a team achievement. The whole defence and even team works for it.

You can go back to match day comments here between 2018 to 2023 to see how many times DDG messed us up and how people used to lament about him here.

In any other big club he would not even have lasted until 2023. This is why I like the reports that INEOS are giving players 2 years to perform or get out.

Letting De Gea go was an issue also.

He was willing to stay as second choice and for a reduced wage.
The wages would still have been relatively high wages for a 2nd choice GK.

Clubs don’t keep multiple keepers on high wages.

This issue is just a matter of DDG loyalists refusing to let things go.

We are the only club I know that has this problem whereby fans will support a player to such an extreme fashion. CR7 fans have not let it go. Ander Herrera fans did not let it go until his career died conclusively at PSG. Even McTominay fans on Redcafe have not let it go.

Our level of player FC is too much.

Well, the decision to spend good money replacing DDG instead of fixing other gaping problems in the team at that time proved to be wrong...
In that same time frame we bought Mount and Ugarte in midfield.

We also bought Rasmus and Zirkzee in attack.

Yet the gaps in midfield and attack remained. Mainly because we didn’t buy well.

DDG leaving was an issue only because his replacement was even worse. Not because it stopped us from strengthening or because there was anything special at that point about DDG.

If Amorim fails here ETH fans can’t come out and say that means we should have kept ETH.

The decision to sack a manager or sell a player hasn’t been our major problem in this club. The problem is that we often replace with the wrong person.

This is not a good lineup.

Maguire with no pace and no left foot at LCB. Shaw with fragile muscles at LWB.
It will be Shaw at LCB and Dorgu or Dalot at LWB.

I have a few experience with South Chicago too, my friends car was robbed at gunpoint, night club shootings,

When I just got there I just decided that instead of taking bus let me just walk and enjoy the scenery of this place. On my way just saw people running cos a shootout was going on

Trump has now decided to reduce the number of families who lose their kids to senseless violence in Chicago
Hehehehe. I just wan hear your opinion. From a distance i am in favour of it but na una wey dey near am fit feel the pulse.

That na post match commentary, it is not uncommon to see someone making such post.

You can dig up when rumors were rife that we are replacing De Gea. I was very vocal here that we had other areas of the team that needed improvement.

You were one of the promoters of ball playing goalkeeper. You were firmly in the camp that wanted De Gea replaced. I no get shovel but I am sure...
Yes. I wanted DDG out. I warned against getting Onana when i saw people (including you) salivating over Onana after that game. It was actually funny to me.

DDG and Onana were not the only the 2 GKs in the world. We were right to offload DDG. We were wrong to get Onana. People that were co-signing DDG out or salivating over Onana, asking how we could get him, should not start renovating history for us here.

So Ten Hag needed to watch Onana performance yesterday to know sey De Gea no sabi distribute ball? If De Gea extend him contract, here go hot for some people next season 😁

I know odiz.eey is a De Gea supporter like myself, i am just enjoying the cruise of this De Gea discurse 🙂.
And for the record i don't want De Gea to stay, nowhere i have posted that he should be giving a contract extension. My own be say if the Manager cannot see his lack of ball distribution ability and De Gea renew is contract, then we have a serious problem on our hands.

TrebleChamp:
De Gea is bad with ball collection from set piece, he has always been like that since the Fergie days. Na why Bolton and Blackburn players dey always shove him off the ball from corners to score. His ball distribution is terrible, but he is a wonderful shot stopper who have bailed out this team severally when the other 10 players where dead on the pitch. We won that Carabao Cup largely thanks to him, he deserves praise too for all his effort.
I don't want him to stay, we need a goalkeeper who can help with ball retention to play Ten Hag style effectively next season...

Your case is not extreme. I went from 69kg to 81kg (my target weight) between May and November.

I did this by learning what my daily maintenance calories were (2700 calories) and then eating above it.

I bought a food scale and I’d measure how much rice I’d put in the pot or how much flour I’d put in the Pancake mix. I’d then use Myfitnesspal app to try to find the calorific value of the raw food and I’d eat like it was a chore. I don’t enjoy eating food. No matter how sweet the food is, my stomach would lock up after a few morsels and then i would force down food until i hit the goal. Then I’d go to gym so I don’t end up shapeless as a result of bulking

After hitting 81kg, i decided to go down to 78kg as I felt better and more athletic when i was lighter.

You can add weight even with high metabolism. Maybe your maintenance calories are higher than the figure i put. Chat GPT can help estimate your maintenance calories if you ask it nicely

Also during the weight gain phase, I avoided serious cardio. I stopped playing football and running until i hit my goal. But beware, once you add weight losing it would need you to do everything you did to gain weight but you would need to be even stricter. For example, i was not really measuring the quantity of oils and spices i use in my food and i got away with that when weight gaining. You won’t believe how many calories are in a spoonful of the oils we use to cook at home.

My bulk food of choice was pasta. 565 grams of spaghetti contained nearly 2000 calories. Pancakes were another food that would have you gaining weight because flour has mad calorific content

I attached an image of my food log when i was trying to gain weight. "Weizen Mehl" means "White Flour" in German
69kg ke?

That was my weight in secondary school when I played football and basketball for the school and also ran 100m. Strong as an ox.

Many gurus say that walking puts your body in a state of relying on fat for energy as opposed to running which targets blood glucose. What's your take on that?
They are right. It is easier to burn glucose than fat. While running your body can’t wait for the fat to be burnt into your energy so it takes the glucose.

The other issue though is that running makes you lose more total calories.

So you lose more fat proportionately by walking. You lose more total calories by running.

Weight loss comes from net calorie deficit.

The more you eat, the more calories you gain.

The more you exercise (plus your basal metabolism) the more calories you lose.

The amount of weight you can lose comes from subtracting the latter from the former.

It works like a profit and loss table. Every bit of physical activity counts as calories and adds up in the loss column. Every bit of food you eat counts as calories adds up in the profit column.

The difference is that the food adds up easily to plenty calories and while the exercise does not add up to plenty calories easily.

Diet is more important in weight loss but exercise is not useless. Exercise also has other health benefits beyond weight loss.

In the US, if you go out, there's literally no guarantee you'll make it back home. What an unsafe country.

If Trump is serious, they need to start arresting Democrat leaders, their constant violent rhetorics is stoking flames in the country. Civil war might be inevitable for them once more with the way they're going. In politics, you either lose or win, when you lose relax, and strategize to win, but the Democrats don't want to accept that. They praise, and glorify violence against people who share contrary views.
The Republicans are equally as culpable. They are the ones who invaded Washington DC and their parliamentary building when their guy lost, holding elected officials hostage at gun point.

There are no saints in this situation, only sinners on both sides.

Anything more than a 7 - 10 minutes walk is stress to me. I remember one time when I was still in school, I saw some of my friends trekking, and decided to trek with them, I couldn't sit nor stand properly when I got home that day lol.

I used to be a gym enthusiast briefly, but that was in the past, you know as time goes on priorities change due to responsibilities, and other stuffs.
It’s good that you check your BP regularly. Many people don’t.

You however have to take the exercise thing regularly. Your health should be your main priority because without it you will not be able to carry out those responsibilities.

A guy came to my practice recently for a check and the result came back that he was diabetic. I chased him with phone calls for days for him to either come back to start management or present at the nearest hospital.

He missed appointment for days because of his job and other responsibilities. It was after I begged him that if anything happens to him someone else will be appointed to take over those responsibilities, that was when he promised to show up.

The day he was meant to show up we didn’t see him again. We called him only to find out he had been rushed to the hospital the day before.
