90% of the Assanal fans on this thread have never seen Assanal win a league title. None of them has seen Assanal win the Champions League but all of them have big mouths like hippos.

Yeah the 3 of them were really good. That looks to be our best lineup for now and like you said the hope is that they stay fit. All 3 have a dodgy fitness history.

I guess the 2nd team would be Maz, Maguire, Heaven. That is not terrible as a bench option

Another thing I noticed is that we were able to pass out from the back better in this game, mainly due to improved spacing at the back and because Arsenal could not press us in numbers because of the threat of Mbeumo and Cunha.

The next few games will show if this is a false dawn or building blocks to a push towards the top half of the table. We must start clocking 3 points on board sha. Faith without works is dead.

Shout out to Matthijs de Ligt. He was probably the best player on the day. Snuffed out a lot of moves and covered up errors in the defence.

He has serious talent but he often holds on to the ball for a tad too long in the bid to make things happen himself. That is affecting his decision making.
He is not helped by the fact that the Old Trafford fans are always buzzing whenever the ball gets to him. Makes him think he has to do something special every time.

Yoro, MDL, Shaw were great.
The WBs were decent. The 2 10s were exciting.

CMs did okay but we need more athleticism and aggression in that area. And better passing.

The GK was criminal.

The next few games will show if we have turned the corner in terms of performance.

Heaton can stay but Onana and Bayindir should be Offloaded if we are a serious team. Ferguson had Tim Howard for just 1 season or thereabouts, immediately, Carrol too couldn’t cut it, be binned both of them, and got VDS and Kusczaks immediately. Going into a season with a suspect GK will cost you a minimum of 15/20 points a season.

As for Bruno. He is still good and can win games on his day, but we need to cash in now and restock all these loyal and leader thing doesn’t count. Get good players and win games. Yamal at 17 is still winning games on his own. We have enough leaders in the team. Man United as an institution is an albatross of itself. Always pandering to emotions rather than pragmatism.

Of course I don’t agree with the decision.. I am just theorising on the thinking behind it. From Amorim’s point of view, he wants as many of his guys as possible in the locker room so that players won’t down tools or throw him under the bus if things start to derail.

Back to the crux of the matter, you definitely have a point but then, it's not like we are asking for too much.

The wages are key just like treble said.
Each of those players will cost clubs between 8 million and 12 million more in wages per year than Doak for instance. That is 40-60 million more over the course of a 5 year contract.

Doak is also younger, with good potential, possible high resale value, and little to no disciplinary baggage.

It’s the CCB that’s meant to step out into the midfield. Martinez can’t play CCB as he would be dominated aerially. Also when they tried him at CDM in the Dutch league he struggled with the pace of the game there, so I am guessing he would not find it easier in the EPL.

Yoro is the one that is well suited to that CCB stepping into midfield role. Another one is Heaven who was a CDM until he turned 16. Mazraoui can step into midfield easily but I am not sure he will find the CCB part of the role easy.

You don’t actually have to switch off your phone. Putting it in flight mode is all that is necessary.

I don’t watch the league so I can’t comment on the truth of those claims. It’s just a cause for caution. The club should make sure that what they think they are buying is what they are buying. They missed obvious clues with Onana and Ugarte.

Radek Vitek made Team of the Week in the Championship. A solid start to his loan.
