raumdeuter: I guess it was arbitrary to show something about compounding
Also the potential setup for a 20yr old athlete who was given his 70yra life earnings in bulk over 4yrs
A savvy wise guy in his 30s might likely take $5m and be better for it vs taking $1k per day. Who knows what $1k per day would be worth in 20yrs time maybe would be worth today's $500, now in 30yrs maybe worth today's $300
So for me, as a 20yr old I will favor $1k a day. I can't imagine handing your 20yr old self $5m without guidance you are just trying to ruin his life
As a man over 35yrs I'll take the $5m Yeah. I agree with your last 2 statements. A 20yr old who did not make the 5m through his entrepreneurial ability is more than likely to blow it. A more mature man is more likely to make good use of the lump sum and is also less likely to be around n 30 years to enjoy the full benefits of the daily pay. |

MRTA7: So assuming, we get Delap, Cunha, Mbeumo. Sell Holjund. You think Zirkzee will get an enough playing time? considering, we'll still have Mount,Bruno, Amad who can do a job there (assuming Garnacho is gone). Amad does not play on the left. He will most likely play RWB if we get Mbeumo. Or compete with him for right 10. Either way he and Mbeumo will be in the right side and won’t impact the team selection on the left side. Bruno will either be one of the 2 CMs or will be gone for 100m. Mount is the difficult one. He is the one who might challenge Zirkzee for the substitute role in the left 10 position. Garnacho is gone. The club are willing to sell him and he himself sounds tired of the on and off love. He is also our 2nd best route to raising funds after the Bruno offer from Saudi. Star CF, Delap, Amad, Mbeumo, Cunha, Zirkzee, Mount. 7 players for 3 positions is not a bad idea considering the possibility of injuries. The 4 new players will be replacing Rashford, Sancho, Antony, Garnacho, Hojlund (5 players). |

GloriousGbola: the only advantage of having money when you are young is at that time your prick is as full as your wallet. well you will have fun - you may just pay for it later in ways you dont want to imagine. Yeah. Cars, women, fancy gifts and trips seem irresistible at a young age. A Sports illustrated article stated that about 70% of NFL players and 60% of NBA players face financial difficulty after retirement. Another research showed that about 15% of NFL players actually file for bankruptcy after retirement. |

BlueRayDick: Omo. Now I see reasons why some Nigerians avoid fellow Nigerians like plague abroad.
But then, when Nigerians stay away from Nigerians abroad it doesn't help in the long run. I thank that's why we don't have plant Nigerians making it to the top of the ladder like Indians who always carry their people along through networking and vouching for each other Years back I applied for a position in a practice owned by a Nigerian and he was offering me half of what other practices were offering me. He had seen someone he could exploit or use for slave labour. I don’t think I even replied his email. |

Roland17: Of course, but this is how they have played all season. It’s not like this is some sort of new strategy for the Knicks.
Now, Carlisle is only saying, I will allow Brunson get his points, if that is what you want but no one else is beating me. Oh ok. Yes, the Knicks are only staying true to character. The Pacers are just making them pay dearly for it. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by afrodoc(m): 4:54am On May 24, 2025 |

TemporaryHansel: Despite his national performance, most major Nigerian politicians still see Obi as a small boy. Do you know why? The last election showed us though that Kwankwaso is seen as even smaller than Obi. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc(m): 11:21pm On May 22, 2025 |
TemporaryHansel: If Kwankwaso tells his state governor, “I’m in Italy, see me tomorrow,” the governor is booking the next flight, no questions asked. Obi, on the other hand? Obi calls, Soludo sends it to voicemail. You’re trying to compare a man who has zero pull in his own state to a political heavyweight whose governor practically kneel at his feet? Let’s be serious. If Obi can’t even command respect in Anambra, how exactly is he supposed to run Nigeria? This is ridiculous. They are not running for president of their states. Based on their national pull and electoral performance an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket should obviously have Obi as the main man. |

CapitalCee: Honestly, we still need to fire sell, this squad is relegation quality. To deal with that elephant in the room, we need to sell people like Bruno, Garnacho looks on his way out, from thos 2 alone we can generate £100m. And like I said earlier, if Radcliffe knows he doesn't have money, I think he should just sell his shares. He won’t sell. The Glazers have not sold for 2 decades. We need to sell a lot of the players but the incomings have to be on point. The recurring theme for the past several years is that we sell bad players for peanuts only to spend a king’s ransom to buy worse players than we sold. If that happens one more time, we will be in the Championship. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 5:23am On May 22, 2025 |
CapitalCee: Yeah, we need a reset, even Bruno, Honestly I will be looking to move him on. We need fire sales. Clear house and start from the scratch. Honestly, if we are to do that type of clearance, Amorim will need to go to. The elephant in the room is the lack of money. There is a way we will do a fire sale that we will get relegated. It has to be done with intelligence. The Glazers gave up control of the club to an audio billionaire like them. |

Roland17: The Pacers are pushing the pace of this game.
Defense has been optional for both teams. A number of important players got into foul trouble relatively early. These Pacers are dangerous in that their best player gets his points completely within the floor of the offense and they are deep. Halliburton can actually be minimised to being a catch and shoot player and still be effective. Brunson on the other hand is dribbling the air out of the ball and having to fight through different defensive looks like a swimmer fighting through deep sea waves. By games 4-5 his body might break down. |

A London team won them in the FA and won it Arsenal. This year another London club Palace defeated City and won the FA Cup.
They were knocked out from the Carabao Cup by the winners that year, Manchester United. This year Winners Newcastle knocked them out.

Patrickmuf1: Expert17 that defended Onana as if he is his agent? Expert first wanted Henderson to replace DDG long before Onana came into the picture. I shared the same opinion with him back then and I suspect Henderson would have gotten a chance that first ETH season if he had not gotten injured. |
