Those qualifiers na David Ngodigha dey goal for some of our games. I think we beat them 2-0 in Ibadan and they beat us 1-0 in Cameroun Yeah that was during Rufai's exile. Ngodigha, Alloy Agu were the keepers. We beat them in Ibadan but the game that wrecked us was our away match against Gabon. If we had beaten Gabon our last match away to Cameroun would have been a dead rubber match unless they really flogged us. We ended up losing by a lone goal from Omam-Biyik. |

Who wont know Oman Biyik that scored the goal vs Argentina in Italia 90 with a header He also scored the goal that knocked us out of 1990 World Cup qualification. The qualifying series in which Okwaraji lost his life. The guy thinks he is talking to indomie generation. |

Once they saw the level they could reach from Nkonos example, they aimed and trained for it I would say Nkono and Antoine Bell inspired each other with their rivalry. I think it was that competition that made them the best keepers in Africa at that time along with Badou Zaki. Badou Zaki, Nkono, El Hadary, Antoine Bell are probably the Top 4. |

BlueRayDick: Growing up while reading government textbooks in secondary school , I was of the opinion that the French policy of assimilation in the French speaking regions of Africa is far more superior and beneficial to Africans than the British’s indirect rule .
Now all grown having access to different news articles , propaganda and media reports I somehow feel the French didn’t mean well for Africa at all compared to their British counterparts .
Looking at how militancy groups spring up in different French African countries the moment france feels they are losing grip of such country, how France just goes after it’s interests in those countries before anything all makes it feel like the French are really ruthless but nobody talks enough about them
Cc: nihilistjnr Raumdeuter Ibime Roland17 GloriousGbola Deadpresidents Afrodoc Donjazzet The French assimilation policy was a system of neocolonialism which the French perfected and unleashed on Africa and Africans. On the surface it appeared to be a policy that favoured Africans but in actuality it was a policy meant to perpetuate the dependence of Africans on the French. They centralized rule in the hands of autocratic colonial administrators which answered directly to Dakar and Paris. Several outlying parts of French West Africa were stripped of their ability to build political institutions unlike British West Africa in which indirect rule, local politics, and self-rule prepared us for independence a bit better. The only problem was the way the British threw together dissimilar groups to form Nigeria. The assimilation policy of the French was meant to turn Africans into Frenchmen and hopefully help to keep them as part of the French nation. Afterall, if you consider yourself French why would you try to break away. This is why Leopold Senghor the first President of Senegal called on Africans not to lose their negritude. Post-independence the French continued their imperialistic tendencies by often interfering in the affairs of their ex-colonies, ostensibly to bring about peace but often engendering more chaos than existed previously. If one studies French and British imperialism one would see that while Britain's actions are usually motivated by economic factors, France's actions can be motivated by economy, power, ego, or just because. |

ChristineC: Muani will be wildly overpriced. I won't even enter a negotiation for him if his club quotes a £70m fee. The way teams now quote 80m and 100m for strikers with 10-15 league goals these days actually amazes me. |

Top 3 player for a Treble winning side. 😂😂And y'all want to criticize and say he was 'okay'. He was not better than KDB, Rodri, or Haaland. He was not better than Bernardo Silva or Gundogan. Man City itself shortlisted Haaland, KDB, and Ake for their player of the season award. I don't know where you got your Top 3 news from. He has not given 100m pound player output in his 2 seasons so far. That is not debatable.
This argument actually bores me. I am interested in debates about our players and transfer targets. |

ChristoBam: Grealish was very good last season. I'm surprised you're even the one saying this. Cuz I know you watch a lot of games.
Watched a lot of City games last season and this guy was consistently dropping an 8/10. Rarely dropped stinkers. Do you know how many of Sancho's games were pure stinkers? Grealish was okay last season mainly after the World Cup but he was not 100m pound okay. The season before that he was poor. In a struggling team all those Grealish performances that you spoke of that were not accompanied with goals and assists would have fallen under serious scrutiny. There is a fine line between such performances and shaku shaku. Mind you, I wasn’t the one who raised the issue and I am not even using it to defend Sancho who has been a huge disappointment. The fact remains though that Grealish performances over the past 2 seasons taken in totality are barely worth a 50m pound player not to talk of a 100m pound one. He should thank his ori that his team has players like KDB, Haaland, Bernardo Silva etc How many players consistently drop stinkers for Pep sef? Ake that was shaky at Bournemouth don dey form chairman there. |

Jodera: And agile? I didn't think anyone is as agile as Martinez and I didn't even know that Timber is that agile Martinez is more tenacious and reads the game better but Timber is more agile and faster IMO. The main issue with Timber is the possibility that this move is coming 1-2 seasons too early or the question of where he fits in. I actually suspect he will see more action at RB at least initially. I don't see him dislodging Saliba/ Gabriel combo any time soon. |

He might prefer playing there but he is actually worse there in terms of performance. What should Tinubu do? Let it end in a deadlock first. After that he can move to next stage. The wise thing to do is to get broad support and if that does not work then he can try more aggressive measures. Guess what the state governors and the elders will say?
And how will that help anyone Recipe for disaster. The governors, traditional rulers, and other leaders have to be on board. Until maybe last year on this same NL there was still a huge bloc of posters of SE origin who believed those terrorist acts were being perpetrated by Buhari contract killers masquerading as Igbo activists. Tinubu has to be careful not to turn a bad situation into a terrible one. |

izzou: Maybe my English is bad, but this doesn't look like diplomacy to me.
And yes, this is what i totally agree with. Yeah i think this is what Dayo was talking about. The diplomacy comes first by meeting with the governors and other political leaders and preparing a soft-landing for the military. If Tinubu just sends soldiers in there without first getting political support from the local leaders, the narrative will change very quickly. |

izzou: So, what kind of diplomacy can you suggest?
When i used Wike's method as a means to end BK in the NE, i was schooled here that they are not the same.
If Wike didn't brutally flush that nonsense then, Rivers would be observing sit at home today.
Innocent people were murdered and some were abducted. I still wonder the kind of diplomacy we need to end that. He needs to meet to meet with the governors and other political leaders and come up with a plan for military intervention. A plan that they can sell to their people in order to get the support of the people on the streets and strip the terrorists of popular support. Military intervention in the SE is probably inevitable but it should have a broad multilateral support, not a unilateral action by an unpopular Yoruba president. That is the hard truth. |

So, why can't this be done? Instead you suggested that Tinubu should ask them what they want.
Did Buhari and GEJ ask the NE what they wanted before deploying troops there to stop BK and ISWAP? Everything has to be handled with wisdom. You and i know that if Tinubu just rushes in with the military without getting the support of the governors and other leaders the story will be different. He needs to apply both force and diplomacy. |

larride: Arsenal don sign Timber.
The kind thunder wey go strike down Joel Glazers and his family members ehn. The Timber ship sailed a long time ago. Timber and Martinez can't play in the EPL. The only way we could have used Timber is as a RB but it seems ETH has decided on Dalot and AWB. We needed a LCB more than a RCB last season as Varane, Lindelof, and Maguire are all better at RCB, so we were lucky to get Martinez and Timber plus Martinez is the better passer of the two. Timber is faster and more agile though. |

Leyqute: Once we secure Onana, we should go for Kane.
I have a feeling we’ll go heavily for him towards the end of the transfer window.
We can throw in Martial and or Sancho to sweeten the deal.
If we don’t challenge for the title and go far in UCL with Kane, Mount and Onana, EtH should start preparing to leave. The problem of is that nobody knows how much money is available. Kane and Onana is 150m and we still need another CDM to deputise for Casemiro (maybe Amrabat) and we also need another striker even if Kane comes (maybe Hojlund). So we are looking 220m MORE after Mount. We should be able to raise at least 120m if we offload Maguire, Sancho, McTom and Fred. |

Kilishihunter: Chief it depends on how you tweak it though , the cash truly is nothing compared to the men's game but if your female team make it to the quarterfinals you can get some revenue using old Trafford at home and you know women and kids won't want to miss anything like that, Marketing and Ticket fees can bring small income depending on how far you move in the competition All that extra income is not up to Rashford’s salary in a month. It does not make a huge difference to the club’s finances. Female ticket prices is chewing gum money and the average attendance is only slightly more than Principal’s Cup. How far will you go in those competitions sef with your best striker gone mid-season? It was more important to qualify for Europe and also try to win the league. If they had sold her in Jan for such peanuts and we had failed to make the Champs League that would have been worse. |

I see this as part of the many silly decisions the board has made. Ona battle also left for Barcelona, but one is Spanish so e no too pain me reach Russo. I hope they get a good goalscorer this season, Lucy Garcia is not that prolific. I wouldn't mind Aston Villa Rachel Daly even though she is old... They don’t really send the female team like that sha but I am not sure there was anything we could have done to keep Russo apart from mzybe throwing more money at her. United should have accepted Arsenal world record offer for her in January, very foolish decision to keep her and now lose her for free... If we had sold her in January maybe we don't make the Champions League. The money in women's football is moi moi money anyway.
