When the leaders are bereft of ideas, they begin to find some nonsense to do!

What next should we change? Names of states?
The flag will be next. We need one that best illustrates the variety of our culture and the rich tapestry of the Nigerian experience.

Okay this make sense.

Which means if we retain ETH and he continue with his donut formation, we already know who to blame.

Jason Wilcox go collect.
Anybody that fails at his duty will collect. That is the way it should be.

SJR, Berrada, Ashworth, Wilcox. They all come with huge reputations and have a huge task ahead of them to take the club back to its glory days.

Ashworth and especially Wilcox can speak with the manager at a tactical level about what their vision is, and what they expect from the manager.

They need to quickly decide on who the manager will be sha, before all the decent options are picked up.

Make Jason Wilcox kuku be coach now since na him go tell coach which style of play to use.
The point is that whatever style of play the club decides on, they will appoint only managers with a track record of playing that style or at least something similar.

That way even if a manager is sacked, we won’t have to spend 3 years offloading the players he bought because they are not able to play in the next manager’s system.

Help me throw more light on this.

Because i know he started having issues with Tinubu in his 2nd term
Yes they started having issues in the 2nd term, but they often ironed out their problems, which is why they are still able to work together now.

His first 4-6 years were littered with countless meetings at Tinubu’s house and at Baba Eto’s house to settle discord between him and the latest person/group he had offended in his projects.

He was able to be singleminded in his projects because the politicking, diplomacy, and grassroots stuff were taken care of by others, in a state which was essentially a one-party dictatorship.

The club’s decision should not be based on the FA Cup win, which is a one off.

The style of football that got us the FA Cup is not sustainable in a league season.

Fashola performed really well but the guy was below par in terms of setting up the foundation and getting the relevant people on his side to support his plans.

Most of what he achieved was done while stepping on people’s toes all over the place, and would not have been possible without Tinubu’s intervention and support at key points.

Whose master plan it was I am not sure.

His lack of diplomacy and politicking ability is partly responsible for his failure as a minister. In a military regime he would have been a fantastic minister.

BEST PRESIDENT THUS FAR; Obasanjo. His period witnessed significant economic growth , it was more like a breath of fresh air from the successive choking years of military rule ; even though onasanjo being an ex-military man displayed military tendencies in some of his political decisions , still it was a period the press and general public could criticize government openly again without fear of being detained illegally without fair trial. Obj’s administration also did well in the areas of having our debts written off by international creditors and he attracted investors into the country with his constant travel all over the world ( even though the opposition then criticized him for globetrotting with tax payers money )

Although his time as president witnessed a rise in cases of political assassinations (which is a big minus to his administration ) , I would say those killings are actually due to desperation of various political stakeholders to silence their political rivals and not solely on the OBJ government .

BEST GOVERNOR THUS FAR: Fashola . His period as Lagos governor witnessed significant change in the fortune of the state . He set the state straight with his policies .

In the area of Education, Fashola with the full support of his deputy Sarah Sosan ( who was an educationist before politics) revamped the public education sector in Lagos state . Their administration was like a turn around for public education in Lagos ; prior to their administration public school education was nothing to write home about. I attended a public secondary school and I know about how teachers were given to dereliction of duties , some don’t even come to school more than twice a week, some of them turn the school staff room to their shops , others bring melon to school and give students to break for them ; while some just come to school to sign attendance register and then go back to their various businesses like supplying eggs, selling foodstuff in shops , etc.
Sarah Sosan being an educationist who knew all of these anomalies started by sending education inspectors to schools to clamp down on the unscrupulous teachers who were caught off guard and issued queries ; when word about this spread fast, they started adjusting . Fashola’s administration also renovated schools , provided desk and chairs which has been a problem in public schools in Nigeria ; he also put a stop to all forms of levies which principals always collect despite having free education in Lagos. His administration also provided textbooks for students and equipped school libraries . I know quite a handful of people who withdrew their children from private schools after they fell on hard times and enrolled them in public schools without regrets afterwards.

His administration wasnalso responsible for taking out of the streets the rickety molue buses and gave the state the BRT buses instead .

The only challenge I had with some of his policies then was that they were elitist. Like road rehabilitation concentrated in the elitist part of Lagos like the island while giving less attention to the mainland . Then the outright okada ban in his second term after he had given out helmet to okada riders during his second term campaign . I felt he could’ve modified the operations of the bikemen instead of banning them outrightly cos some areas are not even motorable in this state and only an elite will not know that.

But overall I don’t think any governor has done better than him in Lagos and even in Nigeria as a whole ( but this may be debatable considering the amount of funds available to him sha )
I agree on Fashola. His draconian attitude towards opposition and disagreement forced me to japa.
I will always be eternally grateful to him. Best governor ever liveth.

What of mouriho, McKenna, tuchel, zidane or xavi?? Because I never see better replacement!! Na why I won make ten hag stay.
Mourinho is an anachronistic manager. You don see any big club consider him? E get reason. That one is out.

Nagelsmann has always been my preferred choice but he is not coming here now.

I don’t mind Zidane but very unlikely to come. Tuchel used to be my No 2 choice but I am no longer as enthusiastic about him. He is still an option though.

I don’t McKenna is ready for the off-field pressures and other issues that come with the United job.
I think he should go to Brighton first and we will see in 1-2 years how he performs.

I don’t watch La Liga enough to comment on Xavi.

Out of the names being mentioned, the only ones I am seriously against are Poch, Potter, Southgate.

I said it again. The way it worked at Ajax that made the midfield not super porous was the defense played a super high line and more importantly the fullbacks tucked in regularly. Don't know the exact way it works cuz I'm not a football geek but the Athletic explained it really well.

Again they were not careless in possession, which means you don't regularly get countered on. Shaw and Martinez out at the same time is really one of the worst that can heppen in that regards.

Btw, did you see Pep's comments about Martinez?
You are 100% right about the part in bold. However, i still blame ETH for this. A few months into the season after noticing how porous how midfield was and how it was causing us to face countless shots, he should have made adjustments and asked the defenders to play a higher line and tucked at least 1 FB infield.

Player a slightly higher line and compressing the pitch would have been better than playing the porous midfield we were playing, especially since we have a GK who is an adept sweeper. He should have stuck to his principles no matter the personnel because that is the only way the team would assimilate his principles.

Doing what he did this season (high press and low block defense at the same time) means next season when he tries to implement high press and high line the team would not be used to it and would have to take time trying to implement it. This means that this season was a wasted season in terms of him trying to implement his principles.

This thing of him knocking down 4ft shots just shows shallow analysis. We all know the profile of Gobert, the Timberwolves traded a haul of picks with full knowledge of what they were getting. Blaming Gobert for not making shots is like Blaming the driver of a stock car for losing a track race to a to formula 1 car.

Nobody ever blamed Mutombo for not making shots when the sixers lost 4 straight games in the finals, nobody blamed Rodman for not making shots when the Spurs got beat by the Rockets or even when the Pistons lost to the Bulls, nobody blamed Ben Wallace for not making shots when the Pistons lost to the Spurs. When gsw lost to the Raptors nobody blamed Draymond for not scoring 20.
But somehow, when it comes to Gobert, the equation changes, and we expect him to do what he was never meant to do.
If Gobert was beat at the rim, or failed to secure the rebound that led to this loss, then yes, massacre him all you want but Blaming him for not scoring, that's not what he his there for.
All this epistle over that uncoordinated fellow? Sorry, no vex.

And the right personality. The big clubs need those types of managers. I don't know if McKenna has that yet for this level. I would have loved him to go to Brighton then we can observe him from there and he can also develop the required experience and his own personality required for the elite level.

McKenna is a good COACH, however the United job requires not only coaching but also managing. I don't think he is ready for the job or the smoke that comes with it.

He is the same one these players were claiming doesn't know how to carry out training sessions just over 2 years ago.
