Leyqute: I was talking about a fit Antonio.
The argument is superior from Bowen's angle. Bowen at CF only makes sense from the overall team view. Doesn't mean another solution can't be found.
It's the same as playing an in form Rashford at CF consistently last season because Martial got injured. If we hadn't gotten Weghorst in January, Rashford would probably not have scored as much goals as he did. And he wouldn't help the team as much as he did. You want to flog Moyes for using Bowen as a CF for this period despite the fact that it is working well with Bowen as CF and Qudus/Paqueta on the wings. How can you flog him for making successful adjustments to an emergency situation? Okay if you were Moyes, what would you have done differently that would have ensured even better results? |

BlueRayDick: U see this table u are shaking ehn....
I was in a bus recently and one woman kept complaining bitterly while we were stuck in traffic within a popular estate. She was angry our driver didn't follow one-way to bypass the traffic like some motorists did.
Few people in the bus tried making her see reason that some police officers used to hide someone close to where the one-way terminates and they collects tens of thousands in naira from any motorist arrested on that one way. The woman would have none of that , she kept pointing at those who passed the one-way without being arrested that day; she asked if those ones have 2 heads.
Like, she thinks the driver was foolish for not driving through one-way. Na only Nigeria people go dey vex for u say u no break law The people who pass one-way here are mainly drug-crazed people and people with dementia. That woman is only expressing what she thinks is normal in a land of anomy. |

Jodera: I don talk this one taya since last season.
The way he misses goals is damn not sustainable for a title competing club. It's too much.
I love what he brings but it's annoying seeing him missing chances that we all know he needs/ought to score. His preseason last season and his start to the season, I really thought we've gotten that all-round striker we really crave
It's very very tiring and I'm disappointed in him Tbh

your comment on disorder made me remeber this gem law and disorder in lagos The link no open. Nigeria is in a permanent state of disorder but many people living in it do not realize this because it is all they know. Even if we set aside all the kidnapping, ethnic cleansing, jungle justice, ritual killings and institutionalized corruption that happen daily, the way people drive "one way" against traffic is enough to define the disorder in the land. |

GloriousGbola: It is not poverty. A truck carrying goods falls down and people who were going about their business suddenly abandon everything they were doing to loot.
It is predatory opportunism. Robbery in lagos traffic is often the same thing. Some of the people caught turn out to be bus conductors or traders. Not out and out criminals.
To be fair it is a base part of human nature not limited to Nigerians. I am sure Ibime and nihilistjnr also grabbed some TVs and basmati rice in the 2011 UK riots
The difference however is that for Nigerians na small trigger. All you need is a trailer to fall down or a traffic jam,not a complete breakdown of law and order and a large number of people surrender to their baser instincts and start looting You are right that it is predatory opportunism. The poverty is what lowers the trigger for Nigerians though. You have also forgotten that in Nigeria there is already a permanent state of disorder. When you combine poverty and the disorder in Nigeria, you will understand why the trigger is lower. |

Leyqute: Easy solution.
Bowen returns back to the wing while Antonio play up top. Bowen plus Antonio combo is deadlier than any other combo of the three. He'll have to find a way to fit Qudus in tho. We have to see what form Antonio is in when he comes back. Injuries can finish a player quick especially when he is about to turn 34. Main point though is that Moyes is making the best out of the injury situation for now, and it is working. Doesn’t deserve flogging in my opinion. |

Leyqute: Moyes should be flogged for the way he's deployed Bowen in the last 3-4 games. Man's a winger, dunno why he's playing him as a CF. It's making him less effective He is doing cos that is the best way to get Qudus and Bowen into the team at the same time. The both prefer coming off the right. He will need to make tough decisions when Antonio comes back from injury though. |

BlueRayDick: I'm guessing the reason they do that is because they are aware of our lifestyle choices in Nigeria. U know in Nigeria most people do not engage in activities that will help break down their body sugar and all. So maybe they just tell u to avoid those things knowing fully well u won't eat balanced diet and ur lifestyle choices are poor.
I don't know for sure sha Yeah Nigerians don’t have a gym or exercise culture. We also don’t eat in moderation. One man will attack a mountain of amala so high he can’t see across the table. Exercise is really important. Healthy diet and exercise in combination trump either one alone. |

BlueRayDick: Well, I'm not a food scientist or nutritionist, but I know Semo is not just wheat. I know Semo has been processed and may include all these preservatives that are not 100% healthy.
I don't think any doctor will recommend Semo for a diabetic; rather they will recommend plantain flour. The diet many diabetics are placed on in Nigeria is often times too restrictive. Diabetics can have whole wheat and grains. What they should avoid are those refined sugars, white bread, soda drinks. The aim should be more about having a balanced diet with foods in moderation, especially carbs and fats, not totally avoiding so many foods and making life unpalatable for the poor soul. |

BlueRayDick: There are some important things about our health we are oblivious about in this Nigeria. I think it was in 2022 a doctor told me that once an adult male crosses the 40-age mark, his chances of having prostate cancer is high and as such every man is advised to regularly check their PSA level to detect prostate cancer early so that it can be well managed before it degenerates.
There are so many people both educated and uneducated who don't even know this. The healthcare system in Naija is wretched. Here when a woman turns 50 she gets a notification for breast cancer screening through the government. This is done every 2 years, unless your risk is higher in which case it might be more frequent. At age 50yrs everybody gets a notification for bowel cancer screening through the government. The Prostate thing is still a grey area here and is left to the doctor and patient to decide, but in a high risk area like Naija that 40yr cutoff seems reasonable. There might be some local guidelines in Nigeria about it. Cervical cancer is one cancer that a clear link has been demonstrated between early detection and good outcome but I don’t think there is an effective screening programme in Nigeria. Anybody with female friends and family should ask them to go for the test. It used to be Pap smear but there is a newer and more effective one called HPV test now. It literally saves lives. |

GloriousGbola: This is another third world problem as we are exposed to all sorts of carcinogens without even knowing
I read that ndlea was busting people in high brow neighborhoods whose houses were meth labs. So everyone in the estate has been exposed without knowing
What youtube diy videos and you will see people wearing gloves for tasks we consider mundane. Apparently used engine oil is dangerous to handle, as an example.
Then you have unsafe products that westerners have discarded that are brought here to sell as goods
There is going to be a skin cancer epidemic. I don't know what it will take for nafdac to go after all the 'caro white' creams being sold. Hmmm that skin cancer thing would be unfortunate. That is one thing our dark skin has helped us with and some of us want to concede own goal with those useless creams. One thing people need to start doing in Nigeria is to go for regular checks. There are things that can be nipped in the bud if addressed early enough. I would say the cut-off should be around 30yrs of age for Nigeria. Once you hit that age you should see your doctor once a year for a check and carry out relevant tests. |

Meanwhile our set-piece coach Eric Ramsay needs to sit up. We rarely look dangerous on our own set-pieces, and we always look vulnerable when defending them. |

GrammarNazi1: I didn't know that he would (not could) die from leukemia since he has all the money he might need for treatment and because Roman Reigns, a WWE wrestler, had leukemia but he has got it under control now. There are different types of leukaemia generally, and even within each type there are subtypes which determine how aggressive the cancer is. In some cases the genetic risk is so strong that even if the patient keeps beating the cancer with the help of treatment, it will keep coming back like a zombie until it gets him/her. There is a reason cancer is the most feared diagnosis in the developed world. In many cases your money can’t save you. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 10:45am On Dec 27, 2023 |
BlueRayDick: Omo! But is it that the medical scientists don't know exactly what causes cancer or what ? Because my believe is once u don't know the cause of an ailment, it will be almsot impossible to treat/cure it. It is not that straightforward. First of all, there is no single “cause” for cancer. I use the term cause loosely because in many cases those things don’t cause cancer they only increase your risk of developing it. Let’s take cigarette smoking for instance. I once had a patient who had smoked 7 packs of cigarettes daily for 40yrs. It was not lung cancer that killed him as many would expect, but COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). I currently have another patient who smoked 1 pack daily for a few decades as well. She currently has lung cancer that has spread to her liver and brain. The first guy smoked far more but didn’t get cancer. Why? Because it is multifactorial. Family history and genetics plays a major role as well. Breast cancer in many cases has no obvious cause but it runs so strongly in some family’s genes that some women remove their breasts before they develop breast cancer. Using contraceptives might increase risk but I would not say it CAUSES it. For skin cancer it is mainly exposure to sunlight that increases risk but there is also a very strong genetic component. Rarely affects blacks cos of our melanin levels. It is a viral infection that has been linked with cervical cancer. That is one cancer that has been tackled quite well in developed countries. Prostate cancer also has a strong genetic component and no real causes as such but it is more common amongst blacks. Stomach cancer also has a very strong genetic component but smoking, alcohol, and other factors can be involved. Blood cancers are very diverse but most also have a strong genetic component, but there is sometimes also a link to smoking and radiation etc As you can see there is not a single cause, and there hundreds of types of these cancers. Overall most cancers have a genetic component which we can’t do much about in most cases. Then there are several other factors which vary depending on the type or cancer. If there is one thing one can do to reduce overall cancer risk though, it would be to stop smoking. I have not had many cancer patients who never smoked. |
