McTominay copying his brother with loose passes. |
Fred has killed up to 3 counters with his loose touch. |
ChristineC:Ronda Rousey was behaving like she had consumed a carton of Gulder. Na that one dem dey call punch drunk. ![]() Amanda Nunes is fantastic at both ground game and stand up, and her stand up is electric both with fists and with kicks. The gap between her and all other females is HUGE. The good thing is that in MMA everyone's turn comes sooner rather than later. All it takes is one second of inattention and you are waking up from a deep sleep. |
ChristineC:LOL. Mixed martial arts is not for everyone. Alistair Overeem's soul is still in orbit as we speak (if you don't understand please watch Overeem vs Ngannou). |
Leyqute:When she punches her opponents for the first time their eyes always open wide like "O God, i don use my own hand kill myself o". If you watch the submission she had 2 moves going on at the same time. Megan Anderson's arm was in a hyperextension lock and her neck was in a choke at the same time. So it was either her arm got broken or she got choked into unconsciousness. |
olabode89:There is a reason for those weight classes. No be play play. Moving from middle weight to light heavy is no joke. Light heavy to heavy is still reasonable. All the pushing and shoving that works for you at middle weight won't work against heavier guys. The punches that stunned guys at middle weight might not affect light-heavy and heavy weight guys. Then crucially, nobody in middleweight punches as hard as a hard punching light-heavy weight. The power is different. I am just happy there was no major injury. |
Amanda Nunes is a beast. |
ChristoBam:Even if the fight is unpredictable there is a greater chance that Jan injures Izzy than the other way round. He is bigger and stronger and has single KO power against guys much bigger than Izzy. Izzy can win with skills and speed without damaging Jan while if Jan wins it likely would be through brute force and inflicting injury on Izzy. Meanwhile this Kara-France is naive. You keep hitting until the ref says stop. |
I just hope Israel Adesanya can defeat Jan Blachowicz and also avoid serious injury. I don’t have a good feeling about the fight. |
patrickmuf:This is similar to what happened with JM. We focus all our attention on one sector and start criticising only that sector as if changing just one part will solve all our problems. Moyes, LVG, JM, Amaka. 4 different managers with 2 of them being legendary managers. We changed them one after the other but not much has changed. The only constants in all these have been the Glazers and Woodward. They are the only ones who have been here while we changed manager, players, training staff and still got unsatisfactory results. It is not by just spending money but spending money wisely. City will spend 50m on a player worth 45-60m but United will spend 50m on a player worth 20m and 80m on a player worth 45m. The time I heard we were interested in AWB it took me only 10 mins of YouTube videos to warn people here that he will struggle in a top team but Woodward approved 50m for him. In an era in which top teams are playing with high lines Woodward approved 80m on a slow defender worth nothing more than 40-45m and who had only ever played in a low block all his life. It is about the true quality of the player not the fee that a mugu paid for him. If you put lipstick on a pig it is still a pig. If you like pay 100m for Bakayoko he won’t magically change to Zidane. I always go back to United showing interest in Gabriel Barbosa at the same time City was showing interest in Gabriel Jesus. We have blind men scouting and assessing players for us. We should not belabour the fact that Amaka is a mediocre manager. We all know that, however our problems run deeper than that. |
patrickmuf:This is where i disagree with many of you. The fact that the manager is not good does not absolve others from blame. The only people who have been here since 2013 are Juan Mata, David De Gea, and Ed Woodward. The whole squad has changed. We have changed managers multiple times. Out of those 3 who do you think is in the best position to either improve or destroy the club, Mata, DDG, or Woodward? Woodward should have his picture next to the definition of owo jona in the dictionary. First they allowed the squad to decline in quality just because SAF was performing miracles with O'Shea and Gibson. Then when SAF left they started panic buying at inflated amounts and messing up with transfer negotiations with amateurish methods. Instead of buying from a position of strength when SAF was here they allowed everything to wreck and are now buying foolishly from a position of weakness. |
patrickmuf:Somebody don hack handelex account. His recent posts are extreme OleOut. ![]() |
patrickmuf:Apart from that troll there is no real OleIn fan again. Ever since KingAlabi started jostling for space on the fence I don write off OleIn gang. |
nitrogen:Extra 10 minutes on that pitch and Cavani goes back to sick bay for a month. He stayed too long on the pitch to be honest. The changes came too late IMO. |
SyIvalord:Na usage rate dey cover him ashiri, a fridge is still a fridge jare. Example, even though Maguire averages 3.3 clearances per game in the EPL which is lower than both Lindelof (3.4) and Bailly (3.6) he is no 2 on your list which uses total clearances which is dependent on minutes played. You might want to ask why he is no2 in the top 6 when he is no3 in his own club? Cos he is the only CB that plays almost all minutes and all league games. Thiago Silva is at 3.6 and Zouma is at 4.6. So looking at only Chelshit and Utd CBs he is no 5 in clearances. If I go through all the top 6 clubs Fridgeman will struggle to enter top 10 in clearances. Na the 90 minutes he plays every game wey dey cover am. Abeg no dey use summation x bobo us jo o. A fridge is still a fridge at the end of the day. |
Panther7:The explanation is in the post you quoted. The big clubs are not attacking us recklessly anymore. That has taken away our counter-attacking which was a major reason for our success against them previously. Even Pep has adopted a more cautious approach against us. |
Phil Jones probably out for the season. Terrible news. Would be a great miss. ![]() |
nitrogen:The gap between McFred and Bruno in big games is too much. Bruno will bomb forward and McFred sit back in order to protect Maguire/Lindelof leaving a big chasm in the midfield. In line with you said, as long as we use Maguire/Lindelof the only solution would be to drop Bruno back into midfield and play as a 10 (but more like an extra no8). That way instead of 4 players isolated in attack it would only be the front 3. That might paradoxically improve our attacking play in those big games as we would have more possession in good areas. It is obvious that this season the other managers in the big clubs have decided to take away our counterattacking ability so we too have to adjust accordingly. |
I was shocked with the way McTom was controlling the ball in that match. He was controlling the ball like he was controlling a funnel. McFred and IceFridge square will lead us back to square one. |
KingAlabi:Imagine if that was Fridgeman or Iceman? |
KingAlabi:No, Shaw said he and Rashford would be joint second with Tuanzebe 3rd (technically 4th). To be fair Rashford is probably not as fast as he was pre-injury or possibly is not yet able to trust his body to go flat out. Having said that James might still have been able to beat the pre-injury Rashford. Some people are not able to translate sprint session speed to the pitch. For example ever since Tuanzebe was in the under-18s i have heard of his insane speed then with Roshaun Williams. In fact Roshaun and Tuanzebe used to beat Rashford in sprints regularly when they were in the youth teams but on the pitch Rashford looks much faster likely cos of superior acceleration. Tuanzebe is likely much faster than Bailly for instance but most people would not know this from watching them. In football acceleration and ultrashort distance speed is what matters rather than top speed or 100m speed. |
timay:It is not always about speed during games but also about speed during training or sprint contests. The former is situation specific while the later is a better indicator of your true maximum speed. Rashford also doesn’t help much with pressing or with defensive work during the course of the game so it is understandable that he would be fresher and faster than James at the end. For yesterday’s game specifically James was already tired by the time Martial was warming up which is why I thought it would be him to come off rather than Greenwood. |
timay:Luke Shaw who trains with them said James is the fastest in the team. |
raumdeuter:This is incredible. Gareth Bale has scored 8 goals this season alone and Chelshit all time great Eden Hazard has scored 4 goals for his club in all competitions over 2 seasons. What a makanaki something. Scamzard. |
CapitalCee:Those 4 along with the manager determine how we play. Maguire and Lindelof are scared of pace so against big teams they drop deeper. Amaka does not trust Maguire and Lindelof to hold the fort alone so he plays McFred and drops them deep to sit in front of Maguire/Lindelof and babysit them, thereby leaving Bruno isolated and running around in a headless manner in midfield. This is the origin of Bruno's struggles in the big games. We need to have 2 fast CBs which then allows the whole team to push forward and stay compact. Then one holding midfielder to protect them (instead of 2) allowing us to field a technical 8 to support Bruno. McTominay was controlling and kicking the ball like it was rectangular in shape today. |
weedtaker:That statement is not based on this match alone. AWB is a full back and we can still manage him for a while, but CB and CDM/CM are very crucial positions. If we continue with those 4 (Maguire, Lindelof, McTom, Fred) we will never win the league, especially if Amaka is their manager. E get reason why. With regards to AWB considering the fact that we played against a 3-4-3 he did okay. He normally struggles once it is not 4 man defense vs 4 man defense cos he is tactically poor and has poor positioning. |
McTominay, Fred, Maguire, Lindelof. These 4 can't take us anywhere, especially with Amaka as their coach. We are just deceiving ourselves if those 5 are still together next season. |
See Shaw passing into traffic when there were free guys on the right. |
patrickmuf:He that is already disappointed need fear no disappointment. |
JayKayMaybachz:Yeah that is my preferred arrangement. |
It might be Rashford no9 and Greenwood RWF though. However i hope it is Greenwood CF, Rashford LWF, James RWF. |
