There has been alot of postive moment(green light) during After hours, does this insinuate a new positive trend after a tumultuous price action?
is it a signal to buy?
A signal to watch. Though pre and after markets don't mean anything, so far this week they have given a hint.as to the direction of the market.

Airline, technology and even oil.stocks are up. Maybe institutional investors want to step in. We'll see.

For example, if a newbie wants to invest in NSE without much knowledge in it, he or she will be advised to put his or her money on any of or combination of FUGAZ stocks with a good entry price.

Question: please what are the examples of FUGAZ like stocks in the us stock market which i can do due diligence on and then invest for LONG TERM (like 5 to 10years)

I will appreciate responses and appology to those my question will irritate.
FANG

Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google. Then you can add Tesla.

The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average clawed back earlier losses on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve indicated it expects to keep rates at currently low levels through 2022.

As of 2:05 p.m. ET, the S&P 500 traded 0.3% higher after falling as much as 0.8%. The Dow was up 53 points, or 0.2%, after dropping more than 300 points earlier in the session. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite hit its session high, trading about 1% higher.

That’s true, most Wall Street guys are pained that retail investors are bubbling in the market tho. Most of them didn’t expect this bounce to happen so fast. I think the market may either pull back a little or break it’s all time high and continue going upward till God knows when
We are already seeing the signs of.oulling back and fundamentals reasserting themselves. Airline stocks are taking a trashing. Restaurants, cruiselines and Casinos are fumbling. This is despite the fact that the economy is reopening. But my sixth sense is telling me they are taking a dip to come back higher.

i am also learning a very useful lesson right now. almost 2 weeks of gain wiped out
I lost 50% of my gains. Now imagine that in addition with transaction fees for exiting and reentrying the market. If I did not jump off airline stocks it would have been worse. But like a wise broker once said, what you lose in money you gain in experience

Cool down and learn.

An average cleaner earns 24k usd
After tax u are left with 20k (this for Alabama u can check for other states here
https://us.icalculator.info/salary-calculator/alabama.html)

Rent in Alabama per month: 300 to 400 usd for cheap apartment. Plenty examples online, remember everything is listed online koro koro.

200 to 300 on food if u eat homemade food and also know where to buy it cheap

100 to 140 on electricity. Even less sef.

In short, u can manage 1000 to 1100 usd per month.

So, u have about 7000 left every year for 3 years, that is 21000. I ask again, howmuch is a new Toyota sedan?

People take loans because their culture is designed for people to spend unnecessarily. Enough jolification they there, that doesn't mean that u can't save money.

In Nigeria, the same cleaning job pays u 15k to 20k naira a month. Even if u no dey touch ur salary for years u no fit do anything meaningful. If una want keep devaluing, ok.
Oga we don hear na.
Thanks for glorifying menial job because it's abroad.

People are really deep into this speculation, I saw DGLY gain 300% in front of my eyes shocked but without greed once one sees 50% above its best to quickly jump out before getting trapped
Like I said earlier. This is an election year. We should expect stuff like this. Trump would keep the market going provided it would win him the elections. Besides the market is driven by hope that things would get better. These two factors combined is what is driving the US market. But the fundamentals would surely catch up. But for now ride the tide and don't get caught up in the incoming wave.

Okay, I see you’re going the Buffett route. You must be more of a value investor. That approach is time tested and proven. However, these are strange times and an investor has to be agile, sitting on cash like Buffett has an opportunity cost, rates are low.. the interest rates are nearing negative rates and the Fed has signaled an intention to even utilize negative rates if necessary like the Bank of Japan. What then does one do with cash to tackle inflation?
Exactly. While it is good to look at fundamentals, we should also recognize that the market is driven by jooe, fear and greed. Because we are dealing with a mass mount of people who have different temperaments.

If we were waiting for fundntals, how do you explain CHK, OXY, AAL and NKLA. Don't you think it's better to feed off these emotions and benefit from the market when the time calls for.it rather than just waiting for fundamentals to click? grin

It is called common sense, a leader that favors a particular part of his community over others, if you can't take a cue from that then you're on your own.
I think you should read up on what entitlement means,as a citizen of a nation you are entitled to many things.
The fact that you likened it to low self esteem is a comedy
Every country has the right to decide whether to grant you access or not. Hating Trump because he decided not to allow people enter America is entitlement mentality.

This is one of the things I try hard to understand. If one observes closely, alot of Nigerian trumpets hate Buhari. If one passes a point across, that person would be termed a Buharist.

However, when Buhari unleashed operation python dance on IPOBs, this same people shouted and protested. When Trump unleashed the national guards on protesters in the US, they hailed Trump and gave him kudos. If that is not hypocrisy, then I don't know what it is.
Unleash the National Guard? That is how you guys would come and say what you don't know.

What is the duty of the National Guard if may ask you?

It is the perogative of the Governor to call in the National Guard to.maintain peace during civil disobedience. The Governor's called the NG in, not trump, and that is what they are supposed to do during the break down of.law an order.

All these CNN analysts

Minnesota is a democrat state. Why is no one calling the democracy governor a racist? Amy Gloubachar was a former Attorney General of Minnesota. She had about 4 chances to fire that police officer, but she didn't. Now she is claiming she listens to Tupac to seduce black voters so that Joe Biden would chose her as a running mate. Trump knows that the democrarts are just usingbit to build sentimwnta against him. Corona virus dem call Trump. Black lives matter, dem call Trump. Wetin Trump do them sef. These liberals are a disease I swear.

The problem with nairalanders is a low self esteem and a desperate attempt to belong, any african with a brain will not support trump and by the way 99.9% of them have never being to the USA so they just rely on the hogwash they hear from the media.trump has been openly racist for as long as I can remember.
A man purposely placed your country on a immigration ban in an attempt to deny you from entering his country and you're singing his praise, that is a neew form of low self esteem.
So your like was of an individual is based on what you can get from him? Isn't your entitlement mentality a sign of low.self esteem?

YerYer:
Some of the moves we see defy logic but the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain liquid. Don't get too greedy and try not to force anything, if opportunities present themselves, take it but be cautious. The short squeeze we are seeing in some names are just mesmerising. Take Chesapeake (CHK) for example. On May11th, the company was discussing bankruptcy, the stock traded around the $10-$12 range but today its trading at $63, that's over 530%. If you see the image I attached, over 35% of the stock was being shorted as of last month, but today its risen over 150%. Again the shorts are covering mixed with the believe that reopening the economy will increase demand for oil.

Look at Hertz (HTZ) the car rental company that declared bankruptcy on May 22th, the stock dropped from $2.84 to $0.55 or 80%. As of last month, there was a 46% short interest in the stock. But the stock is trading at $5.69 which is 934% from the bankruptcy low, it is now trading higher than the day they announced bankruptcy. Again, short squeeze mixed with reopening the economy.

These are explosive moves, just look at NKLA and
PYX as other examples. Even as irrational as it is, I will also partake in these stocks setting a trailing sell stop order of like 15% -20% to allow me capture as more gains as possible while also having a safety net to take me out once the algos and big boys pull out.
I think Crammer warned against NKLA

Be optimistic with caution. Many analysts are predicting a second market crash.
I feel there would be a second crash. Probably after the election period. The stock market goes in cycles. Whenever there is an election year, there is lots of liquidity in the market. This is done to put the Govt in good light because they need votes. After the elections there tends to be a massive squezze in the market and less liquidity. Voter's can't take revenge at this stage.

Could this be the reason we are seeing stimulus packages by the Feds especially in companies like AAL that have a bad balance sheet? Maybe. The ogas here can throw more light.
