AristocraticMe: The same attitude of the Yoruba with Title and Oba entitlement, is the reason Nigeria is what it is today.
When people hear Colonialism, you must think the British just walk into Nigeria and start taking control? No.....
A Yoruba king called Oba Akintola invited the British to help him dispose the former kings son, King Kosoko in return he will abolish slave trade and give the British access to land, cheap labour and so on...... he signed a treaty he did not fully understand...... thats was how the British came to Lagos, they did the job for him but he lost total control of Lagos to the British and he committed suicide 4 years later........ from Lagos the British started bulldozing their way into other parts..... (There was nothing like Nigeria then... though)... The story is deep.......
Three Things that destroyed Nigeria. 1. Oba Akintola - The Yorubas 2. The Amalagation of Nigeria 3. The First Military Coup Plotters (The Igbos)....... Was Nzeogwu an Igbo man? |

Nice thread Op .
If you are in Benin and you need an egg supplier, do well to mention me. Thanks . How has business been so far? |

DexterousOne: And let me add
Being an amateur investor is NOT being a small scale investor o. Cos I see a number if young men on YouTube who are sound in Technical Analysis Those ones cant be termed Amateurs
The amateurs here are the ones trading at a whim.
You have no FA/TA skills
You dont know much about the investing cycle And all that
We even had an incident of an amateur investor here, that lost money cos of lack of understanding and was blaming the platform instead of himself/herself
That's my point Lol..I get you |
Investment › Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by afroxyz: 10:29am On Jun 25, 2020 |
DexterousOne: Well said
Buy and Hold seem to be the strategy if you are a Nigerian based in Nigeria
Just make sure you enter at a good entry price.
That said
The explosion of Robinhood and all these other platforms have unleashed a wave of amateur investors into tbe market that will ne devoured by tbe sharks
Imagine the rat trap with Hertz
Lmao
And the other one that committed suicide Please let's us do well to steer clear of the narratives of these disgruntled institutional investors. Eaten by which sharks? While they were waiting, the 'amateur' investors made a killing in airlines, GNUS, Chesapeake, SPOT and INO. If there is anything the market has thought us it's that nobody is an expert. These so-called experts are having a hard time understanding that the market has changed due to the influx of retail investors. It has thrown up a wave of unpredictability for them which they are yet to grasp. These guys spin narratives to suit their own startegies. JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon called bitcoin a fraud and warned that any trader caught trading bitcoin would be fired. The value of bitcoin fell by 24% after his statement. Sure enough, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley started investing in bitcoin for their clients after that. After slamming bitcoin at the world economic forum.in 2018, George Soros started investing in bitcoins 8 weeks after, of course after the price had fallen. So leave all these guys. They are masters of mass manipulation. They would make you buy the rumour so that you can sell it as news |

So the media has succeeded in scaring the shit out of investors with a second wave of Corona virus. Stocks started tanking mid-day (US time). Apple is closing 11 stores in Florida, Arizona, North & South Carolina. This may be a good time to get stay-at-home stocks. Also to buy dips in Apple. I expect airline, cruise and restaurant stocks to tank further. |

oluwaseyi0: My story look a little bit like yours
Those days of my ND whenever I visit my aunt, I automatically assume the role of the one to do house chores her kids are lazy, as I continue to grow older it doesn't sit well with me, during my HND I learnt photography and start doing wait and get photos while staying with a friend, immediately I start earning small changes my dependency on her greatly reduced hence I don't visit often, before and during my service year I learnt programming and got a job immediately after service
I am grateful for all my aunt and her husband has done for me but the truth is I WON'T ACHIEVE ANYTHING IF I CONTINUE TO STAY WITH THEM MY MIND WILL BE MORE FIXATED ON COMPLETING A NEVER ENDING CYCLE OF HOUSE CHORES RATHER THAN THINKING ABOUT MY CAREER
it's very unfortunate that that's a typical African family treatment
@adunni07 you are simply are adopted house girl and that is not going to change any time soon, no one is gonna let a passive slave free just like that, fighting her is a no no, it is a war you will never win but you will come out severely wounded, she will paint you as ingrate, your parents will rather support her, if you fight her her husband will rather support her and worse of all you will loose the gains and comfort her house bring
Your best bet is to find something doing asap, if it's to learn a vocational training, intensify your job hunting and act grown up, let her see you as busy, don't let her always see you as available, immediately you get a reasonable job your best bet is leaving her house What programming course did you learn? |

If they do, assuming this is an option, let them sign strong water proof court document that should they default on rent by even one second, their wages would be garnished to pay you the debt they owe. Well, you are not renting houses. So all these are armchair theories |

ebuka1997: Lol who listens to Jim Cramer? The guy is a boomer and constantly misses the fact. In the height of the dot com bubble, he encouraged listeners to buy overvalued tech companies and they all bust after the crash. After the Great Recession he also said everyone should pull money out of the stock market and the bull run in the stock market continued till 2020.
He was still recommending bank stocks a day before the crash when it was obvious they were failing https://www.erictyson.com/articles/20080922#.XuYKYCQo_YU
