No where there do you explain how it is achieved.
It was not my explanation, it was the manufacturer's technical operation mechanism of Otomat missile explained on Harpoon Databases.

I am tired of repeating old posts on this thread because you Southies are just fvcking liars and frauds filled with inferiority complex, you make me leave this forum and watch TV instead.

I posted it here July 6th, 2014 with weblink source and photo screen image of the webpage, PROVED BEYOND ANY DOUBT ON PLANET EARTH !

https://www.nairaland.com/415620/strongest-military-africa/948

"The Otomat is an unusual missile. The four double-delta wings are each mounted on an air intake and are tipped with a datalink antenna.. Between two of the wing pairs are a pair of solid rocket launch boosters which are jettisoned after four seconds. A radar altimeter is fitted to the underside. The jet engine is to the rear along with the cruciform guidance fins. The missile comes sealed in a fiberglass container that needs maintenance only once a year. Launch is via the MM/OJ-791 operator console.

Inbuilt missiles internal datalink allows two Otomats stagger-fired to “cooperate” and extend their maximum range from 35NM to 43 ¼ NM or 80 km range." SOURCE : Harpoon Databases.

It shocked everybody on this forum last year, so shuut up and live with the fact, Otomat MK 1 range when two missiles are fired in salvo is 80km and it beats the 70km of your weaker Exocet missile. tongue tongue

The Olifant Mk2 is comparable in every way to your T-72, as I have shown with citations.
Over 200 units of SANDF Olifant tabks have ancient RHA armour from 1970s vintage, the tank itself is of 1960s origin with 1940s capability grin

5 units of Nigerian army T-72 with ERA armour will eat up all your 200 units of Olifant ancient tanks.....repainted Centurion grand-father tanks

Where does it say 2 mk1 can boost each other's range.

All so when last where they fired. You know they don't last for ever.
I won't repeat same post 77 times, I posted world news report last month showing Venezuela still test fired their Otomat missiles very recently and they bought in 1980s same time with Nigeria. Otomats don't expire short-time like you imagine, they are expensive high grade missiles with very long life. Some missiles last 45 years. Saudi Arabia too still uses their Otomat mounted on ships, they have not been test firing because they don't have to.

Otomat Mk 1 range is increased to 80 km when you fire two in salvo, it's an extra-ordinary kind of missile :

Source Harpoon Databases, I posted that here many times last year, I wont repeat it

Actually the boats used on the frigates can carry a MG151 20mm auto cannon, radar and other gear. I mean they the same size of a yanky boat. They all so getting upgraded with more sensors.
Show them to us, your interceptor boats with tech data specs, armament, range, speed, and endurance, plus survivability/logistics to patrol high seas alone like a Nigerian Shaldag.....or your Valour frigates have to keep carrying them about like one month old babies strapped on their mothers' back because they cannot move by themselves grin grin

As we have proven (thanks SIPRI) you only have Otomat Mk1 with 60km range... our missiles have a 72km range
Even if we don't use other sources that say Nigeria has Otomat Mk II, lets just assume Mk I for analysis purposes alone today.

SAN Exocet range 70 km

NN Otomat Mk I, 80 km when two missiles are fired in salvo, they cooperate and extend range from 60km to 80km

Cameroon's Type 07P IFV CANNOT carry anti-tank missiles and auto grenade launchers like Nigerian BTR-4 IFV.

Naija cruises around in BTR-4E configured to carry missiles.

MikeCZAR:
SAN is no coast guard.

Your navy is nothing but a bunch of boys with patrol boats, no sea combat capability.

The Namacurra boats have been used inland in dams and rivers.

With thee Davit system the Valour frigates can launch high speed interceptors.

The SAN crosses the atlantic very often, what "long range"?
Even Cameroons navy crosses atlantic, crossing ocean is NOT 24 hour patrolling international waters, South African navy has no OPV fleet for 24 hours round the clock patrolling of international waters, 3 of your 4 Valour frigates engines has already broken down, your navy has no maritime security capability long range !

Davit system ? What da fvck ! Nigeria has hundreds of those Davit system kinda tiny rubber or fibre glass boats, yet we bought many Shaldag ocean interceptors because those rubber dinghy boats are mere toys when blue water action starts.

Those your Valour frigates useless Davit sytem launch only tiny toy rubber inflatable dingy or fibre boats that cannot carry cannon/main gun, cannot carry radar, cannot carry night vision ocean imagers, cannot survive alone in high sea because a windy wave will overflow it with water and sink it killing all your sailors, cannot climb into a pirate ship that is the size of an oil tanker, cannot fight pirates that have rifles aboard a big ship, it can even be overran by a small fishing trawler made of steel and all your sailors will sink and drown to death, it cannot carry fuel for more than few hours before it's tiny out-board motor tank runs dry and your sailors stranded in high sea where shark will eventually eat up all those South African navy men including @Andrewza....

South African navy is a wishy washy piece of joke, reason why you are now realizing your weakness and desperate to buy a big stealth OPV and MPV like Nigeria, but South Africa has no money, except you auction some of your bank loan purchased useless submarines tomorrow !

The Ratel is better than the BTR-4E

20mm cannon.
23mm cannon.
90mm assault gun.
Ingwe missile.
60mm mortar.
81mm mortar.
LMG(s).
Water storage.

You can't deploy those BTR-4E in real conventional battles again where communications, command and control are vital.
Fool, you don't have all those weapons combined on any single Ratel, those are for different versions.

Same way BTR-4E has versions for all those kind of guns and mortar, however as a modern 2010 IFV the BTR-4 combines 30mm cannon plus 40mm automatic grenade launcher plus anti-tank missiles on one single BTR-4.....a feat which your obsolete 1980 Ratel CANNOT perform.

You started messing up this thread again and I will just go back ignoring the thread until your season of m.adness is over

It is a coast guard.

Yes, the business of the sea arm of your armed forces is not to fight at sea. But to patrol.

Your navy cannot protect Nigeria's waters against hostile vessels!
Nigeria has no threat of any hostile navy vessel, all we see are criminal pirates, so we can afford to reserve NNS Aradu and sail around in OPVs, a navy fights the war it sees, not the video game war it imagines.

MikeCZAR:
Those missiles expired long ago, when was the last time your naval combat officers were drilled at sea in using them?

A bet 90% don't never heard about something called Otomat!

The Valour class frigates can intercept pirate vessels!
Valour frigate is NOT an OPV for constant patrolling and you already ruined 3 of them with engine fatigue grin

I proved Nigeria's Otomat missiles have not expired, other navies who bought Otomat same time with us are still test firing theirs very recently or still have them on board their warships like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela.

Show us war and we will revive NNS Aradu with Otomat missiles, it's range is superior to your Valour frigates overrated Exocets

Sht1t sone, are you seriously comparing an upgraded cold-war IFV to a latest gen tank hunting IFV? The Stryker called... it wanted to remind you that its not 1985 anymore

At this pointy in time Soutrh Africa has the best "IFV pipleine"

As to the T-72, the Olifant is better despite the smaller bore gun, because, technologically we are ahead... seriously, 2015 and you are still usig reactive armor? lol, get on the composite train brother!!
South African army is worse, about 230 units of Olifant tanks in SANDF, only 26 units have modular armour and it is not all round protection, only the vital areas have modular passive armour, the other parts of your re-welded and re-painted 1970s old generation tanks have ordinary welded steel RHA armour that Boko Haram will penetrate with HEAT warhead shoulder carried RPG.

Over 200 SANDF Olifant tanks are still having the ancient 1940s invented steel armour....your tank force of those 200 will all be k.illed by 5 Nigerian T-72 tanks with ERA armour in 30 minutes.

You should look well at your obsolescent army arsenal before you talk, get it ?

Not only frigates are entitled to be called 'warships',any OPV that has combat capability, sophisticated radar technology and high endurance also qualifies as gallant warship.
Many blue water navies take coastal guards for granted, but the truth is that OPVs have more endurance and mobility than most frigates.your frigates will be sunk into the atlantic ocean by any OPV that can be fitted with missiles.

@Chief agaugust,henry,stillchris,naijapikingidi..what do you think about the latest development with ISIS?
In the latest reports,we learnt that ISIS has now sprung up in libya{as expected}.libya is only 1500km away from our border, egypt is trying to contain the situation, but sadly isnt recieving necessary support.
Do you think they are only aiming for north african arab nations,or have they decided that blacks muslims arent infidels anymore?
We know that if ISIS harnesses the weapons and human resource in libya, mali, niger and chad, then they will be 10 times stronger, with over 2 million trained fighters to cause judicious amount of terror, making the ottoman brutality look like training drills.
Our north alone has 60 million muslim{not counting the south},half of that number are innocent youths who can be easily radicalized.
Do you think that we should take proactive measures of closing our borders and acquiring more military hardwares, especially long range missiles, stealth fighter jets and more wardrones?
Nigeria's current new weapons/equipment purchases and manpower training with Russia, Ukraine, China, Israel, Pakistan, Belarus, Czech, Romania, Poland, etc will all continue and grow for the next couple of years, we will be able to defeat ISIS if they attack us.

However, the first West/Central African victims of Libyan ISIS will be Chad, Niger République and Cameroon. Chad cannot defeat the kind of ISIS that is beating up Iraq.

The weaknesses of Chadian military is already showing with small Boko Haram, they were invited to save Cameroon, but Chad sent a whole 2,000 troop regiment to attack about 800 Bokos inside Nigeria, they were so tactically stupiid that they though they had killed all the Bokos who actually beat the Chadian army with a tactical maneuver (Copied from Nigerian army) tricked them by entering Cameroon to start attacking targets behind the foolish Chadian army's backside....100 Cameroonian civilians killed and 500 wounded by Bokos inside Cameroon that was under Chadian heavy protection ! 2,000 Chadian troops beaten with combat tactics by 800 Boko Haram fighters.

Second mess up by Chad was when 33 Bokos used boats to cross lake Chad and kill Chadians in their homes including a major town Chief of the Chadians, as usual Bokos out-maneuvered the senseless Chadian army that was in the same zone sitting down inside Nigeria's Baga town boasting to be liberating Nigeria while 33 illiterate Bokos where drinking Chadian blood freely like Coca-Cola just across the same border position .

Third combat idiiocy was a Chadian air force jet fighter pilot unable to differentiate between innocent and unarmed civilians in Niger Republique having a funeral ceremony, the Chadian jet bombed the h.ell out of 30 civilians, roasted women and children in BROAD DAYLIGHT....blind bat air force of Chad !

Now this is the same Chad that the whole world of fools (Only fools) say is better than Nigeria in battlefield.....3 unpardonable tactical combat errors in 15 days costing hundreds of innocent civilian lives in 3 countries at the same time !

Chad is indeed a rag tag army of military fools, ISIS will eat them up if they clash in full force
