FighterPilot: CHIEF, LET US ARGUE FACTS WITH LOGIC AND STOP PASSING REMARKS ON EACH OTHER LIKE FOOLS. MANY MILITARIES IN THE WORLD WHO HAPPENED TO OPERATE F-16s, HAVE LONG UPGRADED TO MORE RECENT VERSIONS, UNLESS THAT MILITARY DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE WITH TIMES AND THE CURRENT.

RECENT MISSILE TECHNOLOGIES HAVE LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW GENERATIONS OF FIGHTERS TO KEEP THEM UP TO DATE WITH WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM TO PERFORM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE MUCH OLDER VERSIONS EXPOSE ONE TO IMMENSED RISK WHEN FACED WITH THE LATEST AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM AND OTHER RECENT VERSIONS OF FIGHTERS IN A DOG FIGHT. THIS WAS THE REASON WHY MANY MILITARIES HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM F-16 LONG AGO.
America, Europe and others still have about 2,000 F-16 jets in service today 2014 with their advanced air forces.

You did not think before you posted earlier abi? You said F-16 is not a 4th generation jet fighter, you did not know they have been upgraded until I said USAF and NATO still use it. You wanted to rubbish F-16 jet because I posted photo of Nigerian NAF pilot training with American air force on a lead in jet fighter to F-16....Fool, trying to prove NAF pilots cannot fly 4th Generation jets has made you look like a man who just left jail that he entered in 1970, then he was asked about facebook and he said it is not available on the library shelf so who is the author that wrote facebook and who is the book's publisher grin grin

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 12:27am On Sep 17, 2014
FighterPilot: NOPE, THE US AND NATO FORCES HAVE THEIR IMAGE INTACT. THEY ARE FIGHTING MANY MILES AWAY FROM HOME DEVOTING AND PLEGDING THEIR LIVES TO FIGHT FOR WHAT THEY CALL PEACE. NO INSURGENT HAD EVER GRAB LAND IN AMERICA BY FORCE.

LASTLY, I HAVE NEVER IN MY WHOLE LIFE HEARD OF ANY WAR THAT EVER EXISTED BETWEEN RHINO POACHERS AND SANDF NOR EVER HEARD OF ANY DEFEAT ON THE PART OF SANDF BY RHINO POACHERS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT THEY EVEN SIEZED LAND, NOT AT ALL. RHINO POACHERS CAN NEVER CHALLENGE MILITARY, THEY ARE MERELY CRIMINALS WHO OPERATE ON SMALL GROUPS.
Rhino poachers are not interested in holding your land, he is a thief, have you ever seen a thief holding land before? He is busy robbing you of your precious Rhinos which he happily goes to sell in black market, while SANDF and SAAF continue to run around in circles like a Tom & Jerry cartoon chase grin

The world image of South African military is damaged in historical records as an army that cannot stop bushmen hunters and thieves grin

Since you started typing in FULL CAPITAL LETTERS NOWADAYS, I could no longer be sure of your mental balance or imbalance.

The more you type in capitals, the more craaaazy your comments become, whatever has gone wrong with you upstairs is your personal problem so go and see your local witch doctor before government forces you into Psycho asylum.

US Marines and British marines in Afghanistan are specially created and trained to fight in foreign lands, marines are at home anywhere in the world, that is their doctrine. US Marines and British marines failed in Afghanistan.

Why would Islamists hold land in America? Only 1% of US population is Islamic, and the remaining 99% Christian/Others have 100 million civilian owned guns.

Nigeria has 50% of it's population as Islamic faithfuls, and 99.99 % of Nigerian civilians have no guns.

So where would you find Islamists holding land?

Then what has Boko Haram gained by holding land for one month and losing it with 3,000 of it's fighters k.illed? It is just choking itself with attrition, I like Boko Haram to try hold land so we can see where they are, only God can count how many of them NAF has killed with cluster bombs, now that Su-30 has joined NAF,we shall send down the rain of cluster bombs and laser guided bombs....it's killing time, Boko dies in thousands grin

FighterPilot: I REITERATE, THERE IS NO NIGERIAN ON EARTH WHO CAN COMBAT WITH A 4TH GENERATION FIGHTER. IT IS NOT A MATTER OF ETHNICITY OR INATE INTELLIGENCE TO LEARN THE KNOW HOW OF FLYING NEW GENERATION MACHINES. IF IT TAKES AMERICANS MANY YEARS OF TRAINING TO MASTER THE WEAPON SYSTEM OF THOSE MACHINES, HOW ABOUT NIGERIANS?

CHIEF, F-16 IS NOT FULLY IN THE LEAGUE OF 4G FIGHTERS, IT WAS MERELY ELEVATED UNFAIRLY EVEN THOUGH IT DOES NOT SATISFY ALL THE REQUIREMENTS.

ANY FIGHTER IN THE WHOLE WORLD CAN BE USED AS A CLOSE GAP DEPENDING ON THE VACUUM THAT URGENTLY REQUIRES TO BE FILLED

NIGERIA IS REALLY UNDER PRESSING NEED OF A RELIANT FIGHTER AND THATS WHY WE CALL THOSE ACQUISITIONS AS CLOSE GAPS

LASTLY, CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE US A RELIABLE SOURCE ABOUT YOUR ALLEGED SU-30s AND JF-17 ACQUISITIONS?
LET US HOPE IT IS NOT YET AGAIN NOT ONE OF THE 3RD GEN FIGHTERS.
America and many European countries fly F-16 jets, and many of those NATO countries have no other jets apart from the F-16, so those air forces of advanced countries are not flying 4th Generation jet fighters?

You are surely a fake air force officer, you probably work for boys scout or some village militia

DieVluit: Bedtime reading.

http://blogs.cfr.org/campbell/2014/09/16/the-military-balance-in-northeast-nigeria/

This is a guest post by Jim Sanders, a career, now retired, West Africa watcher for various federal agencies. The views expressed below are his personal views and do not reflect those of his former employers.

Boko Haram has moved beyond separate security incidents to a full-scale military campaign, the goal of which appears to be the capture of the Borno state capital of Maiduguri, a city with a population approaching two million. Though Boko Haram war lord Abubakar Shekau has proclaimed a “caliphate,” the movement’s focus appears still mainly to be on its military operations. Despite the caliphate declaration, there are no signs as yet that Boko Haram is ready to assume the heavy burden of governing the territories it occupies while it is pursuing Maiduguri, its most important military target. With respect to the territory it already occupies, Boko Haram may be taking a page from British colonial rule in northern Nigeria: conquer the towns, and then leave the local leadership in place, as long as it tows the line.

The campaign for Maiduguri may not be the turning point that some commentators suggest. From the beginning, Boko Haram has been fighting Abuja–the corrupt, Western-educated elites who have beggared the North. Boko Haram has followed a remarkably linear progression with very few setbacks and U-turns....

Crime in Nigeria has become a normal way of life, that why most of them can't even recognise it. South Africans record almost everything that happens.

FighterPilot: WELL, BUT BOKO HAS ALREADY DENTED THE IMAGE OF YOUR MILITARY. THEY HAVE PINPOINTED ALL THE WEAKNESSES OF YOUR MILITARY, EXPLOITED IT TO THEIR ADVANTAGE AND HAVE EXPOSED THEM TO WHOLE WORLD TO SEE. NO STRONG ARMY IN THE WORLD CAN ALLOW INSURGENTS TO GRAB HOLD OF THEIR TERRITORY, ONLY THE WEAK WILL FALL.

IT DOES NOT, HOWEVER, HELP TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL NOW, SINCE THE HISTORY HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN THAT ONCE UPON A TIME IN NIGERIA, INSURGENTS HAD AN UPPER HAND OVER THE ARMY AND GRABBED THE LAND BY FORCE. THAT REALITY WILL NEVER BE ERASED AND WILL GO DOWN TO THE ANNALS OF HISTORY WITH A HUGE EMBARRASSMENT.
Going by your analysis, Islamic rebels have dented the image of USA/NATO forces after 11 years in Afghanistan, the white men super powers are withdrawing back home without victory. Israel has the most effective army and air force in the world, both fought Islamic terrorists in Gaza and they withdrew after one month, Hamas fired more rockets into Israel after the great Israeli army with drew, so the Hamas has shown the weakness of Israeli army right?

Rhino poachers have defeated South African army, SA special forces and South African air force in Kruger park, these local hunters have shown the great weaknesses of SANDF and your big country is accepting defeat and removing your Rhinos from your country to a 'weaker' Botswana to hide them from the local home-based enemy invading Mandela's homeland from Mozambique and rampaging unstoppable tongue tongue

FighterPilot: ROME WAS NEVER BUILT IN ONE DAY. IT TAKES MORE THAN 20 YEARS ON SUCCESIVE YEARLY ACQUISITION TO BUILD A COMPETITIVE AIRFORCE, NOT EVEN THE BEST. IT WOULD TAKE NIGERIA NEARLY 30 YEARS TO HAVE THE BEST AIRFORCE IN AFRICA. WITH 4TH GENERATION FIGHTERS, IT WOULD TAKE NEARLY SEVEN YEARS TO PRODUCE THE FIRST 4TH GENERATION NIGERIAN FIGHTER PILOT ON EARTH. CURRENTLY, NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE PILOT WHO IS WELL EQUIPPED AND TRAINED TO CONTROL THE SOFTWARE AND WEAPON SYSTEM OF 4TH GENERATION FIGHTERS. 4TH GENERATION FIGHTERS ARE NOT ALPHA JETS, THEY ARE EQUIPPED WITH COMPLEX SYSTEM WHICH TAKES MANY YEARS OF TRAINNING. ALL NIGERIANS ACQUISITIONS FOR NOW WILL MERELY BE THE CLOSE GAPS NOTHING MUCH.
Dude F-7 jet was Nigeria's stop gap from 2008 to 2014....six years.

No country uses Su-30 and JF-17 as stop gap measures.

NAF pilots have been training on 4th Generation aircraft in USA, Pakistan, and Belarus for many years before we received our Su-30 and JF-17.

We ordered JF-17 Thunder since 2012 and training was started then. We signed for Su-30 Flanker almost one year ago.

It took Israeli pilots less than 12 months to graduate from 3G Mirage jets to 4G F-16 jets.

For NAF pilots with 20 years combat experience with 3rd generation aircraft, 6 years experience with 3.5 generation aircraft, they will fly 4th generation aircraft in 9 months full training.

Nigerian pilots are not dullards like your South African mugus who are reputed as bottom ladder intelligence on planet earth grin grin

DieVluit: Peeps expressing their views y'all.

http://news.yahoo.com/12-nigerian-soldiers-sentenced-death-mutiny-court-martial-030902617.html

In 1879 the Zulu army, probably the finest light infantry militia that ever took the field, caught a column of the professional British army on the march at Isandlwana, and crushed it. The Zulus had iron spears and cowhide shields, and the British had rifles that could fire 10-12 rounds per minute, plus cavalry and artillery.

In 2014, Nigeria's professional army stands by helpless as Boko Haram runs rampant in the northeast. The army has AK-pattern rifles, belt-fed machine guns, anti-armor weapons, mortars, APCs, and tanks, plus support from fast air, helicopters, and artillery.

Whatever equipment shortages the Nigerian army has, they are far and away not the biggest reason they have trouble with Boko Haram.
That is only 18 men out of 30,000 Nigerian soldiers in the battle zone, no country has 100% perfect men in their army. The men were not even tried for cowardice, they were tried and convicted for mutiny in protest of leakage of information by some Islamists in the army who leaked their platoon's information to Boko Haram and they were ambushed in a safe zone.

The death sentence is sad news, no joy that people will be shot/executed for a crime, but it shows Nigerian army has one of the best disciplined armies in the whole world, zero tolerance for misbehaviour or cowardice, even any deserter we catch will be tried and shot d.ead by court martial law.

If you think the story you posted is a minus for Nigerian army, NO ! You are actually showing the world how disciplined we are, South African army gives medals of honour to your soldiers who deserted Bangui for fear of Seleka rebels, and your SANDF Army union was bold enough to publicly protest and refuse government call to return to C.A.R. and fight back at Seleka that disgraced South Africa a whole regional power of SADC....Your in-disciplined army had to shut up for those cowards to have their way.

South African army = 100% tolerance for cowardice and misbehaviour

Nigerian army = 0% tolerance for cowardice and misbehaviour

We are the NO-NONSENSE army of Africa !

Thiza: NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE POLICE SPECIAL FORCES TO DEAL WITH HIGH RISK SITUATION AND PLEASE DO JUSTICE TO SOUTH AFRICA BY NOT COMPARING A RIOT POLICE MILITIA WITH SPECIAL TASK FORCE
You have only 90 men in that special task force, will that save you from 1,000 armed terrorists ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Task_Force_(SAPS)

When situation gets bad, you will call in your army, if you have 10 trouble spots across South Africa's large land mass of about 1.2 million square kilometers, 90 men will NOT even save one small city.

Nigerian Police has Cobra APC and BTR-3U APC that are used by the best European armies around the world, South African Police Special Forces have NOTHING like that.

Nigerian police have many 12.7mm anti-aircraft/anti-light armour heavy machine guns, with gas grenade launchers that can paralyze the heavily armed enemy force until we call in the DSS or Army if necessary....

High cases of deserters dangerous for military, Nigeria — TUC
on september 03, 2014 at 8:56 am in news

By Victor Ahiuma-Young
TRADE Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, has warned that increasing reported cases of deserters in Nigerian Army over lack of weapon to confront the Boko Harem insurgency is a dangerous trend that can destroy the army.
TUC in a statement also expressed concerns over incessant refusal by soldiers to take orders from their superiors in their fight against the Boko Haram when deployed to the stronghold of the terrorist sect.
In a statement by its President, Bobboi Kaigama, TUC expressed fear over the safety of Nigerians because if there was an external aggression today, Nigerians were strictly on their own as it appeared that there is no military to defend them since soldiers often ran out of ammunition at the battle front.
Kaigama expressed shock over the sudden incapacitation and begging status of the Nigerian military which bravery and professionalism in several peace keeping missions in Africa gave the country its title “the Giant of Africa.”
He said: “It is rather unfortunate that Nigerian soldiers that were once the envy and pride of Africa have now been reduced to a toothless bulldog in the battle front, begging for food, bullets and better weapons to defend their fatherland. This is a shame.
“It is pertinent to state that the allegation of mutiny by the authorities of the Nigerian military over the refusal by the ill-equipped Nigerian soldiers to obey the last order in their quest to defend their fatherland does not hold water. What transpired was the application of common sense because such a mission will be tantamount to suicide mission.”
Kaigama questioned the huge amount of N968 billion budgeted by the Federal Government in its 2014 budget to combat the Boko Haram sect and other terrorist groups in the country.
He noted: “The Nigerian military is at the forefront of the war on terror but it is doubtful if it can triumph. It is high time the government approached the war on terrorism with sincerity of heart because the government and the military forces have proved incapable of defeating a small army of insurgents whose activities are limited to the North-Eastern part of the country. This is in spite of billions of naira in defence spending since 2010.
“In recent years, Boko Haram has become more daring in its attacks. Apart from conducting suicide bombings, it has continued to carry out coordinated raids on military bases, police stations and villages’ unabated.”
On the issue of 480 Nigerian soldiers that fled into Cameroon following fierce fighting with Boko Haram insurgents as confirmed by the Cameroonian Army spokesman, Lt Col Didier Badjek, though denied by the Director of Defence Information, Major-Genenral Chris Olukolade, TUC president described “the incident as unfortunate because the protector of the people is now seeking safety in a foreign land due to lack of adequate weapons, an obvious fact that Nigerians are on their own.”
Hey dummy, Nigerian army is one of the most disciplined in the whole world ! We don't take nonsense from any soldier !

If there is truly any deserter in Nigerian army, they will be arrested, tried and shot !

The few mutineers of some months ago have been sentenced to death after court martial. I am not happy they will be shot, but Nigerian army has it's laws and they knew the law before they broke law. Sad, but Nigerian army must defend it's law and 150 year old reputation as the most experienced army in Africa.

I am waiting for South Africa to sentence to death ALL your 250 soldiers who ran away from Seleka C.A.R. Bangui as deserters.

Also, I am awaiting for South Africa to sentence to death all your SANDF army union members who refused to go to war against Seleka.

However, from news reports and @THIZA's photos posted here, I am aware that South African army has decided to give medals of honour to it's cowardly deserters, as running away is a sign of Glory and Honour in South African military.....reason why United Nations put your cowardly army under the command on Tanzania and African Union put SANDF under the command of Nigeria in 2015.

The world knows your army is proud of deserters and mutineers, nation of genetic and incurable cowards tongue tongue

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2014/09/nigerian-military-jet-missing-after-mission-201491495343150133.html

Nigerian military jet missing after mission
Alpha jet disappeared two days ago during 'routine operation' in Adamawa state, where army is fighting Boko Haram group.

A Nigerian air force jet has been missing for two days after disappearing in the country's far northeast, where troops are fighting Boko Haram insurgents, the military has said.

A search and rescue operation was under way for the Alpha jet which was on a routine operational mission on Friday over Adamawa state when contact was lost with the aircraft, the Nigerian armed forces said in a statement.

The aircraft, with two pilots on board, left its base in Yola, Adamawa, at about 0945GMT on Friday and had been expected back by midday the same day.

"Since then all efforts to establish contact with the aircraft have not yielded any positive result," military spokesman Chris Olukolade said in a statement, without providing further details.

Boko Haram has seized territory in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states in recent weeks, raising fears about a loss of government control in the far northeast and putting the military under pressure to put an end to the five-year-long armed movement.

Nigeria's military, backed by war planes, has been fighting to push back recent advances by Boko Haram into the north of Adamawa state and also towards Maiduguri, the state capital of neighbouring Borno state. The army said it beat back an attack outside the city of Maiduguri on Friday.

Boko Haram, which has killed thousands since it launched its anti-government rebellion in the northeast in 2009, has in recent weeks captured and held a string of towns and villages in the region, a departure from its usual hit-and-run tactics.

Its leader, Abubakar Shekau, is apparently trying to follow the example of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, which has declared its own caliphate. Nigeria's government has vowed to take back the seized territory from Boko Haram.
Fool grin grin

That is the sign of powerful nations that go to war, NAF is at war with jets, South African air force jets have never fought one battle since about 10 years ago SAAF bought Gripen jet and Hawk jet, so how will your jet go missing if you park them safely at the air port and ask your pilots to sleep at home and fvck their wives every night like cowards? Fool grin grin

America too lost just lost a bigger and more powerful jet the F-18 jet training to go fight ISIS terrorists, about the same time Nigeria lost the small Alpha jet.

That shows what we call battle experienced military forces, Nigeria and America are together in that high class now, a prestigious military power club to which South Africa does NOT belong, your SAAF is still writing application to be a servant in that club grin grin
