After the ECOMOG operations, major powers in Asia have been inviting nigeria for joint military training because they value nigerian combat experience and the quality of senior officers that we have. nigeria has the best trained military in africa because we have spent billions of dollars to learn war tactics from 7 of the top 10 military super powers in the world.

after his ECOMOG command ended, nigerian ex-chief of army staff general salihu ibrahim was invited to China for a similar army combat simulation combining many army generals from different countries including china. the nigerian army general simulated an army ground combat defensive formation and none of the other generals could break through his simulation with an attack force, they asked him to reveal how to break through that strange type of formation with an assault but he refused to show them.

nigerian military is better in terms of training, than those of egypt, algeria, ethiopia, morocco, and south africa. we learn real warfare from so many countries, we dont sit down at home because of pride and train only in nigerian defence academy and war college even though our local military schools are also world class built on British military standards.

any country making war with nigeria will face our military officers that can use different war tactics, strategies, and experience learned from many different countries who have fought and won the greatest wars in world history. nigeria is not Togo or Congo, every country that is wise has avoided challenging us to war despite the hatred many have for nigeria.

What makes Nigerian men Desireable to South African Women?

He is tall, dark and with big fat lips. Another quality that locals say defines him is a heavy bank account. He is likely a popular person among South African women too. This is how South Africans perceive the typical Nigerian man. There is a notion among the locals that casts aspersion on the financial prowess of a successful Nigerian: it is the belief that the more the Rand (or Naira) he has, the likelihood he is a drug baron. But what really attracts a Nigerian man to a South African woman since there seems to be an avalanche of unions between Nigerian men and South African women? According to Prince (surname withheld), a Nigerian student in Unisa, the most dominating factor that attracts South African women to his people is money. On the other hand, he suggests that this relationship is symbiotic since going into a relationship with a South African gives the Nigerian safety in the land. However, he is quick to point out that this safety is fragile because the success of foreigners breeds xenophobia. “I can say that from the male side, this kind of cross-cultural relationship can stimulate xenophobic attacks because they can say we take away what belongs to them.”


Money is not the only reason why South African women date and marry Nigerian men. According to Ibrahimo Cassamu, South African ladies are lazy and want free things. Thus, he argues that these women take advantage of the generosity of the Nigerian men..

Prince does not totally blame the South Africa women. “Sometimes, it is not the women who hunt for money in Nigerian men, but these men take advantage of the women, especially the young ones who are vulnerable and they can be easily tempted.”
The pressure and consequences of cultural differences is, however, not a source of concern for the Nigerian men. “When we come to South Africa, we adapt to the changes and we apply them as part of our new lifestyle,” Prince said. Cultural differences do not constitute a major challenge because most people in South Africa apply themselves to Western cultures.
The biggest problem that seems to confront the Nigerian men in relationships with South African women is what they describe as the volatile nature of the South African woman. “[Our] women are unpredictable. You can assume they are happy in a relationship with a Nigerian man, yet they are not and they stay in the relationship for the sake of financial happiness,” says Masego Mashiane, a young Braamfontein woman who sees the pressure of this situation on the streets of Johannesburg.

However Mashiane says she will never go as far as dating a Nigerian man due to the fact that she was brought up to believing they are bad associations and they use traditional healings. “Even now at my age, I still have that mentality because it was instilled in me and nothing will change that,” she says.
She also has a different perception of South African men who date Nigerian women. “It’s been said that a man from South Africa would only marry a West African woman if he was bewitched and they use them for money.”
How do South African men measure in this context? The consensus is that South African men are traditional in their worldview. However, do they share the same sentiments as those of Nigerian men? Will they have as a girlfriend or spouse a woman from another country?

Donald Mbiza says he will marry a Nigerian woman: “These women are beautiful souls. When they love, they give it their all and their heart is for that man only.” And he feels strongly that South African men are not on the same level with their Nigerian counterparts. “We are lazy beings and I cannot compare myself to a man from Nigeria. These people have seen opportunities and they grab them with both hands; at the end of the day, you will see them driving cars that South Africans always plan for and we see them with our women.”

However, Tumelo Dibakwane opines that he will never have a Nigerian woman in his life. “These women are just too much for me. They are very fast and I cannot keep up with them. They are too cultured and they are expensive so I do not want a woman from that land.”
Mbiza disagrees,arguing that the fact that Nigerian women know how to compromise, make sacrifices and do not complain a lot makes them desirable: “They can make a living with what they have, yet our own women are lazy and will complain about how much we make for a living .”

“Nigerian women are caring and know how to take care of what belongs to them. There is nothing wrong with them and we may be seen as men who do not take care of our own girls but the truth is South Africans are rather lazy. I am not saying they do not love, but compared to West African women, they are incomparable,” argues Gracious Maunye who resides in the heart of Johannesburg.

And for South African men who sulk when they find local women in the arms of foreigners, perhaps they should do a lifestyle audit and amend their ways because “Nigerian men are caring and loving and they know how to be with a woman despite her background. They love differently in a unique way and they give us respect where it is due,” comments a woman, who is in a relationship with a Nigerian man.

Biafra was a civil war and you defeated one of your own.

All other wars Nigeria fought was used as mercenaries fighting along side other forces. Is that what you call military achievement? Definitely NO.

SA in car fought seleka which means alliance in Sango language comprising all CAR rebels together including large portion of Bozize's mutinous government forces who joined ranks with rebels. Almost 180 SA troops without any heavy artillery and Air support managed to escape over 3000 rebels unscathed which is very unusual.

Over 1000 Nigerian soldiers in one barracks were attacked and defeated by Boko Haram and blame their falure squarely on lack of Air support. Boko Haram insurgents managed to put under siege the whole town and hijack police stations, local prison and barracks. They freed over 200 prisoners with only few men killed, what a victory. The worst of all Nigeria were beaten in their own turf.

Msauza: Simple, Nigerias military achievements are mainly based on peacekeeping mission of which is the same with South Africa. SA as well participated in many peacekeeping missions.

sierra leone war was no peace keeping mission. nigeria and sierra leone had a defence pact, the national army of sierra leone was defeated by coalition of several rebel groups, president tejan kabbah asked nigeria to invoke our defence pact, we landed there, attacked and defeated the rebels of about 40,000 fighters...and we restored the democratic government of president kabbah.

liberia a bit different, but also about 35,000 rebels of charles taylor armed by libya with anti-tank weapons and shoulder anti-aircraft missiles.

1,000 nigerian soldiers died in both wars . all involved nigerian air force jets in action.

those wars are far superior to what south africa experienced in CAR. your current army has almost zero combat experience, thats why you rush to brazil to learn jungle warfare from your fellow inexperienced brazilian army. blind leading blind

war is war, rebel or national army. the rebels of liberia and sierra leone were more powerful than their national armies and overthrew the two presidents and their governments .
