Yeah but if employed in that scenario what does the SAAF lynx have that it doesnt have??its a method of finding out about its on board equipment and maritime capabilities wink
You need to navalize it with things like floats, anti-corrosion/anti-saline salt water protection, etc .
Its a land AW 109 variant, the sea will damage it.

1. I said that the deployment in the Congo was under the UN, and South Africa was the main force behind its invention and its biggest contributor.
http://unicpretoria.org.za/2015/01/19/un-special-envoy-for-the-great-lakes-and-south-african-ministers-review-the-situation-in-the-region-and-call-for-urgent-military-action-against-the-fdlr/

2. read my post correctly, I did not say they were deployed to Congo, I said they were deployed under ACIRC. I also quite clearly explained what ACRIC is. The fact that I broke down the composition of the ACRIC formation, and then mentioned the MONUSCO FIB separately makes the distinction glaringly obvious.

In future I ask that you take the time to read my posts properly.
1. Your source proves that South Africa did NOT invent FIB, it was a UN idea.

2. Okay, but next time don't mix equipment list of ACRIC into a talk about FIB, your lack of clear distinction created confusion.

Please improve on your communication skills.....and don't tell lies again that South Africa invented Congo FIB. Thanks

Cameroon called Chad for help, so how will Nigeria call on Cameroon that was begging other neighbours for help?

That puts all your above comment and map into the garbage bin 0/10 post.

First, we are in Congo - who do you think invented the FIB and is its biggest contributor??

Second, our "war games" are part of our preparation to get the whole ACIRC (African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crises) operational.

Currently, we are the only African nation to meet our responsibility with our formation being ready since December last year.

Currently, our contribution consists of:

- a motorised infantry battalion (9 South African Infantry BN)
- a composite mechanised car squadron (Ratel-20 infantry combat vehicles from 1 SA Infantry Battalion, Rooikat armoured cars and possibly Ratel-ZT3 tank destroyers from 1 Special Services Battalion)
- a light artillery battery (1 Light Artillery Regiment with 120 mm mortars)
- a light anti-aircraft battery (10 Anti-Aircraft Regiment with Starstreak missiles)
- a troop from 2 Field Engineer Regiment
- a troop from 1 Tactical Intelligence Regiment
- a composite signals squadron with elements including communications intelligence teams.
- a mobile air operations team (MAOT)
- two Gripen multirole fighters
- two Rooivalk attack helicopters
- two Oryx medium transport helicopters
- two A-109 light utility helicopters
- two C-130s.
- a medical task group and a level-two hospital
- Military Police platoon.

This formation, as we speak, is being held at almost constant readiness - at MASSIVE expense to the SANDF.

This contribution stands on-top of the ~1,500 men, 3 Rooivalk, 2 (3?) Oryx deployed under the MONUSCO FIB or the other ~1000 deployed under AMIS/UNAMID.
Not interested in an argument, but also not wanting the public misinformed.

Can you please give this forum sources to prove that South African invented the Congo FIB and not the United Nations.

Also prove that SANDF currently deploys in Congo, Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles and Gripen jets to fight M23 rebels that have no air force

Draw an arrow on this picture where the IRST is

Because, when you realize where it is... then you realize why the F22 will win 90% of the time.
You too draw arrow and show the IRST, maybe you don't know what it looks like.

Su-35 radar detects stealth aircraft, the IRST is just an extra.

F-22 is doomed with it's shorter legged 72 km range missile, Su-30 SM fires first with 100 km range missile.

o really? So a 15 hour firefight is running away?

What then should we do to your army of 20 000 who ran away from Boko Haram for 4 years? they only stopped runnning when foreigners showed up and demonstrated what it means to fight!!

Or the 400 who were so terrified that they didnt stop running until they left nigeria!!
Citation needed.

If 20,000 Nigerian troops ran away from Boko Haram, Shekau will be sitting down in Abuja as Caliphate sultan by now.

Last time I checked, Shekau III is running away like a cowardly schoolboy who fears his headmaster's whip grin grin

No foreigner fired a single bullet in Boko Haram war, 5 PMC trained 120 men, those 120 men did not win a the war that is on a huge battle space as big as Scotland, or did SANDF use 400 men to secure a small Bangui city? 400 men of SANDF lasted only 15 hours against Seleka.

Show us how 120 men trained by PMC will defeat 20,000 Bokos spread all over North East land as big as Scotland.

Nigerians only with no foreign bullet fired, we won our war. SANDF has not won a war in 50 years grin grin

American ECM have war records to bank on,Russian ECM have none.
I am not the one ranking one above the other, all I said is nobody has monopoly of ECM jamming over others. Russia will jam, America will jam.

Russian ECM have war records too, they saw live BRV combat action in Badme war Ethiopia Vs Eritrea, it was Su-27 Flanker and it shot down every MiG-29 that fought it to conclusion, that is a fair war where both jets were flown by mercenary Ukrainian/Russian pilots, not like American pilots flying against 3rd world countries pilots and claiming champion.

Let Saudi Arabian pilot fly F-15 against Russian pilot having Su-30 Flanker plus Russian AWACS aircraft and ECM aircraft extra support, then we will know how western equipment perform against eastern stuff, so that people can draw conclusion like they did in Iraq Vs USA air war.

Blah blah blah

Answer: AIM120D

Again, you can keep trying to tell us that a 4 gen multi-role stands a snowballs chance in hell against a 5 th gen air-superiority fighter... Even after you admitted it was an "unfair fight"

Facts are simple

F22 detects first (it does not even have to radiate, it can passivly detect the Su30s who will be burning the sky desperate to detect it)

F22 decides to engage or deny combat (befor the su30 even knows there are f22s in the area)

The engagement will happen in a time, place and conditions of the F22's choosing.

Can your infa red see above your su30? At 90 degree angles? No? Ok - well guess where the f22s are coming from

Come now, this is a ludicrous argument - everyone knows that if you want to talk about a worthy adversary for the f22 you are gunna be talking about the su-27 and not the "sad goose" (su-30)
I have defeated you in combat simulation again as usual, all you can do is complain, grumble, whine and pine like a little puppy dog trapped under the tyres of a Yamaha motor cycle grin grin

"F-22 detects first but CANNOT attack first, with a 72 km range missile, he will fly into the 90 km IRST range of the Su-30 before trying to fire missile, but then the Su-30 has a 100 km missile, so he fires first at 90 km, while F-22 is waiting to close gap at 72 km.

By the time the F-22 has a chance to fire any missile, the Su-30 fired missile is already nearer to his jet so F-22 pilot will be struggling for his life to avoid death from an incoming super speed missile, and his overrated American F-22 is inside no escape zone of Russian 100% accurate missile.....overrated Yankee is dead o. "

Even your SAAF air chief cannot beat that combat simulation

F-22 vs SU-30SM isn't actually a fair fight. Not like the U.S fights fair anyway, or has ever fought fair.

A more reasonable combat would be the SU-30SM against F/A-18 Super Hornets.
Looking at photographs and aircraft air frame stealth construction, the F-22 is SUPPOSED to defeat Su-30 SM...BUT NO, the weapons/radar/irst on the Su-30 SM Flanker will defeat the overrated F-22 Raptor and surprise the whole world .

F-22 detects first but CANNOT attack first, with a 72 km range missile, he will fly into the 90 km IRST range of the Su-30 before trying to fire missile, but then the Su-30 has a 100 km missile, so he fires first at 90 km, while F-22 is waiting to close gap at 72 km.

The article said "similar to" not "equal to".
It is hasty to categorize the ALQ-99 as having bad performance, the fact that it "sometimes" interfere with the AESA probably stems from having a powerful frequency distorter that could sometimes target the collect bands of both its host and the enemy, this can be rectified by homing on selective targets.

The ALQ-99 still outclasses the SAP-14.

F22's will fire first

And they will do this in a time, place and situation of their choosing.

You yourself have said it would be:

If you want to argue for the sake of arguing, at least make a good argument
I am sure the facts and sources I posted have shocked you and your stealth overrated F-22 raptor grin grin

Your constant mistake is that you always compare jet fighters as an aircraft, you forget that their power only lies in the weapons they carry, the stealth paint on F-22 is not a weapon dude, go look at it's short legged missile weapon grin grin
