FighterPilot:
You can never add radar range like numbers dummy. I asked about the radii of your radar.
our radar is 360 degrees all round view and the radius is the range, 407 km circle radii....you dummy.

one ATR-42 at 407 km ahead of the second, gives them total 814 km radar coverage, yes radars range is added up in numbers in air warfare based on linear flight formation.

you fake air force officer grin

DictatorZAR:
You don't have a secure net centric coms system or dedicated data link used by your infantry what will you do in a highly EW threat environment.

You also don't have mobile radar warning systems nor do you have modern anti air missiles to engage low flying aerial threats in your infantry.
You are actually condemning SANDF that has one of the weakest air defences in Africa with your short-legged 1 km maximum ceiling Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles grin grin Nigeria has Roland anti air missiles with about 6 km ceiling, we are far better than you.

Nigerian infantry has mobile telescopic battlefield surveillance TV cameras that give real time live videos of the battle field, it is better than SANDF mobile infantry radar that is just showing dots and lines like a maths graph paper on a screen that will not tell you if the object is blue or red.

Datalink? How many countries in the world have tactical datalink for infantry? Not even all SANDF is datalink connected, when we dig the matter to the bottom now, it will be another fake Lynx ASW story story grin grin

Did your SANDF datalink help you eliminate ordinary Rhino poaching in your daddy's ancestral homeland? No grin grin

MikeCZAR:
Are you thinking now?

Infantry which matches on foot? Without IFVs or MIVs alongside tanks? will handle mechanized infantry?

Artillery which still relies on orders shouted over the radio? without fire control computers?

Training and doctrine is what is important not experience.
Infantry is primarily meant to march on foot you dummy, that is the real meaning of infantry....foot soldiers.

Does SANDF infantry drive MRAP into houses and on top of hills, or inside the thick jungle on tree top?

Artillery fire control computers do NOT detect target, they just do basic maths azimuth and elevation angle. it can be done with a simple hand calculator.....but even then, Nigerian Bofors and Palmaria have their own inbuilt fire control computers.

Nigerian artillery is not guided by shouting orders, we have many drones, ground radars, and telescopic mast battlefield surveillance TV camera.

Yes Nigeria has the best equipped infantry in black Africa today....including our air mobile infantry flying on the wings of army aviation.

That would be from another ship.
It's even more visible from aircraft...the whole submarine shape is visually clear, and the snorkel is pouring out heavy diesel engine heat attracting airborne FLIR while the sub snorkel and sub radars are reflecting clearly on airborne radar screen from many kilometers away.

A modern radar that can detect snorkel. A modern radar that can detect snorkel. A snockel is nowhere on the air madman and must only be seen by cameras else you won't see it at all. You will just only have to rely on luck
Big lie from fake air force officer !

Radar will detect a submarine snorkel, and worse for the submarine if it also raises it's own radar and periscope at the same time.

https://www.quora.com/Can-radar-detect-a-submarines-snorkel-or-Periscope

Also, Nigerian navy has total coverage of Nigerian coastline with 50 km range TV Cameras, we also have the new Israeli Falcon Eye 24 hour high power ocean surveillance sophisticated systems covering the entire Nigerian EEZ up to deep inside Gulf Of Guinea.

No submarine can hide in Nigerian waters unless a super power class Nuclear power engine submarine, which South Africa will never have.

Over a 150 were upgraded to MK1B status...The 44 your talking about is from the first batch received in 1991.
http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product894.html

"first production Olifant Mk 1B vehicles were completed in early 1991. It is believed that the first production batch of Olifant Mk 1B amounted to just under 50 vehicles. This upgrade programme has now been completed"

http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/South_Africa/Olifant_MkI.php
Your own encyclopedia source claiming large numbers confirms that those were NOT upgraded with modern composite/passive armour, they were given added old school RHA basic steel armour and double floor armour like a basic MRAP.

"The hull protection is enhanced by the installation of additional RHA armour to the glacis plate, nose beak, turret front, sides and front roof, placed with a large gap in between the original turret like a cofferdam, which could be filled if needed. The turret bustle also receive more stowage capability. The hull bottom is protected against mines by a double floor with the torsion bars between the two floor plates."

http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/South_Africa/Olifant_MkI.php

Dont drag us back to old issues . It has been proved that SANDF has only 44 units Olifant Mk 1B composite/passive upgrades. This case has been closed many months ago.

A single battalion group can handle a Nigerian division.

Start thinking what will stop 80+ Badgers backed by 40+ Rooikats.
You have only 5 Badgers. Rooikat has NEVER been tested in battle, just like 95 % of SANDF has never seen war since their mother bare them.

Nigeria has a larger infantry, armour, and artillery force. Plus we have the best equipped infantry men in Africa and an army aviation with amphibious vehicles, and best battlefield experience in Africa today 2015.

Master Blaster comment cool cool cool

The South Africans though they have an American style Nuclear engine powered submarine that cans stay permanently under water.

Well, Niaja boys have now unblocked their blocked brains to realize that their submarine has only 4 days to submerge under water, and of that 4 days, ONLY 2 days can be spent in Nigerian Gulf of Guinea EEZ waters and ONLY a few minutes in Nigerian coastal territorial waters or else it will not have battery power to run out of our waters and go back home alive.

The Southie mumus thought their submarine will fight according to it's nice photograph posted all over internet, they forgot to check up it's technical and operational weaknesses.

The ignorant South Africandos don't know that the entire Nigerian EEZ is 100% covered by 500 km range sea search radars 24 hours surveillance, we also have 50 km range coastal TV Camera 24 hour surveillance with object detection images linked to a central command and control network-centric analysis computerized situational awareness management/control room. Nigerian waters have the most sophisticated electronic surveillance systems in all Africa from Cape Town to Cairo, they don't even know we now have the new sophisticated Israeli Falcon Eye complete EEZ 24 hours high powered electronic sensors surveillance systems.

No wahala, the Souties have agreed to park their Submarine safely 1,000 km away in Angola's waters, they have dismantled their naval blockade by themselves, fear of Nigeria's hunt and kill air/sea power, ah Naija u wicked o !

South African Submarine.....back to sender cheesy shocked tongue grin

Why would we deploy the Mk1 when we have the Mk2B?

Moreover, why would we fight a more modern tank with an older tank when we have ATGM's that can kill the T90?

Brah, think before you post!
Why do you keep about 130 units of Olifant Mk 1A in your armoury if you don't need them? SANDF will be forced to use those old obsolete tanks if you have to defend a huge region as big as Scotland like Nigeria did, your upgraded 44 Mk 1B tanks will not be enough to spread over 100 cities.

T-72 tank kontakt-5 ERA armour will defeat your ATGM, not to talk of T-90 tank that has it's own ATGM and composite impregnable armour, and anti-missile defence systems. Your SANDF has never fought against even a T-72 that has Kontakt-5 ERA armour, talk less of your rookie army fighting a T-90 tank.

Brah, think before you post!

Why dont you explain to us why the T-72's are being destroyed by the thousands across the world?
.....because T-72 is being used in thousands across the world to fight against anti-tank guided missiles and against more modern 3rd generation composite armour tanks like Abrams and Challenger. Same way SANDF Olifant Mk 1 tanks will be demolished by anti-tank missiles and mordern tanks like Abrams.

Further on your lies and misinformation :

1. Show proof that thousands of T-72 tanks are being destroyed in numbers as many as thousands

2. Tell us why T-72 tanks destroyed all British made Chieftain tanks of Iran that stood up to face the T-72

3. Show us how many times any other tank was used in major war more than T-72 in the last 25 years.
