MikeCZAR:
A single day means Nigeria will have no warship!!!

The submarine can simply go outside the operational area to charge its batteries and come back to hunt. Your commanders will be terrified as won't if it is there or no.
When you declare war, a navy with no ASW ship will withdraw to harbour and start aircraft submarine hunting round the clock surveillance.

No submarine can enter harbour to sink a warship, every sensible navy would have deployed anti-torpedo nets around the harbour entrance.

Run where to snorkel? Angola? What is the area of operation? You run 1,000 km away to Angola, yet you say you are blockading Nigeria?

Where will you hide with snorkel? ATR-42 and Alpha jet have 2,000 km range and that reaches up to Angola.

Your submarine running away out of battle area has voluntarily dismantled the naval blockade. Now I see you afraid of Nigerian waters grin grin

I said let us stick to what the manufacturers say the same way you want it. On the same breath I can quote sources which will dispute CATIC about the PL-9C specs and you won't like it. Let us wait and see what will the manufacturer conclude about the specs of A-Darter.
So defenceweb should be closed down for spreading false information, the manufacturer is silent, where did defecneweb get his data from, he pulled it out of dreamland or it`s the usual South African fraudulent lifestyle?

Still it is no longer 35KM as you previously claimed.
I did not claim it, Army Recognition Website said it. Effective 22 km Maximum 35 km. You don`t know the difference between effect range vs max range, fake air force man.

The manufacturer is mum about A-Darter speed and range. So, everything else is just speculations.

A-Darter range is confirmed by South African defenceweb at a mere 19 km only.

I will rather buy a PL-9C and fly 22 km

One thing about Chinese is that their Mach is not the same as Mach that we know. Their Nike that they manufacture themselves apart from those designed under licence from Europe is something else. Their adidas is called abibas. That's how those guys are like, not so honest in making business.

Chinese have reputation of falsifying the specs of their weapons for market purposes. However, the range now is no longer 25km as you previously claimed and falls short of an IRIS-T range.
I have NEVER said 25 km, I said 22 km effective, 35 km maximum.

China manufacturer has confirmed my claim of speed and effective range.

Ok.

So, since you cannot validate your statements, I am going to take it that you were talking sh1t about the ATR-42 detecting a snorkel, just like you were talking sh1t about the service ceiling of your drone. As usual, you were making things up in an attempt to tell us how your navy would stand a snowballs chance in hell against the SAN

I listed the competitors for the contract.

Fact is, you posted some bullsh1t about the service ceiling of your chinese drone... despite the fact that you have no idea what it is.

If you dont have any valid points left to raise, then I am done here.
Msauza your country man was the one posting random ceiling numbers for the drone, I always said it is classified, or you can quote my comments if I gave it any ceiling.

1. Look at the picture again. Stop wasting my time with childishness

2. Why are you avoiding my question: You said the ATR-42 can detect an object the size of a snorkel. Prove it

3. Irrelevant because you wont get with FLIR range.

Nope. Sub detects the ATR 42, or, it realizes that its radar is being messed with and dives. You think that the sub will wait until they have no time underwater left to snorkel? They will be constantly snorkeling and diving . That way, upon detection they will dive and have enough reserves left to maneuver.

This is all pointless, because until you start posting citations about ATR 42 detection ranges of snorkels and the RCS of a sub snorkel... you have no argument as all you are doing is guessing
Thanks for confirming that your submarine will not stay long underwater, they will be constantly part surfacing to snorkel and be constantly detected by enemy and constantly available to be killed and sunk

The 2DIV assault river crossing of the River Niger to take Onitsha on 9 October 1967 was under then Lt. Col. Murtala Mohammed. Using Inland Waterway ferries, and preceded by a three to four day artillery and air bombardment, on the night of October 8, 1967 two poorly trained and equipped federal battalions landed on the shores of Onitsha near the market. Ferries bringing reinforcements (including Panhard armored vehicles and ammo) to them were abandoned midstream by scared civilian ferry pilots. It became a turkey shoot with panicky federal troops roaming around in a discoordinated fashion. The Onitsha landing disaster took a great toll on Federal troops due to the ad hoc manner the troops embarked on the operation without adequate watermanship skill and air support. Two more attempts at a frontal river crossing were made before efforts to take Onitsha from Asaba were finally abandoned. In January 1968, after the abortive attempts to capture Onitsha from Asaba, Murtala moves up the Niger, crosses it at Idah and advances down to Awka and Onitsha, and captured Onitsha on 21 March 1968.

1. It was a river crossing
2. only 2 battalions were involved

Your own source killed your argument!! thanks for the help!!

In future, read what you are about to post grin
100% wrong grin grin

1. Bonny landing was 1968 NOT 1967

2. Bonny amphibious landing is Operation OAU

3. Bonny ops was led by Frigate NNS Nigeria, she does not sail on a river with her massive size

4. Bonny landing was led by Col. Adekunle NOT Lt.col Murtala

5. The 3rd marines are a full division size not battalion

5. 50 million South Africans are too brain dull to write correct facts grin grin

Fool, your Soweto skull is half empty, you cannot see it says PL-9 has new version called PL-9C with higher performance,

"PL-9 IR-guided missile was first developed in the late 80s based on PL-8/Python-3 technology and is for export only. It has an all-aspect InSb seeker and a radio fuse. Its range is 500m minimum and 16km maximum. Speed is Mach 3.5 and load is 40g. Its forward control fins look similar to those of AIM-9L (double delta). The latest variant of PL-9 is called PL-9C with improved multi-band IR seeker and a new programmable digital processor giving it a greater IRCCM capability and higher killing probability. Its range is also increased to 20km. "
