We have a state owned company that manufacture armed drones that are currently used in the middle east against.

The seeker 400 is the most advanced drone in sub sahara.
SANDF has no seeker drone. NAF has missile armed drones, most advanced in all Africa from Cape Town to Cairo.

Only Nigeria has experience of armed drone combat in Africa and one of the 5 countries on planet earth.

This is NNS Andoni size, nothing really significant.
For an MPV, Sea Eagle at 38.4m is good size, many MPVs are 36m. Anything bigger than 43m is a waste in mid shore patrol role.

I expect a cascade of new MPVs for Nigeria due to new need to fight oil theft by barges size of boats.

NN already have a confirmed order for 4 missile armed IPV-MPVs

It's a decent guess. There hulls look quite similar.

From the 5 Photos i've posted on this vessel, it does seem the Nigerian Navy found a way around the initial stall. The project is in full swing, with this ship at an advanced stage of it's build. Given it's current trajectory, i expect this build would have been completed by December of this year.

It must say, it does look larger than your average Sea eagle.
I can't judge size from front view, Sea Eagle is big at 38 m... NNS Burutu side view...

BABY SHIP or should I call it a BOAT.
It will sail where a Valour frigate cannot reach for fear of running aground in shallow waters.

SAN lacks a balance of variety of vessels sizes and specs for variety of naval operations. Dummy navy you have, you cannot sail everywhere we sail, but we can sail everywhere you sail. South Africa does NOT have a balanced navy.

SOS

Can anybody identify this ship Nigerian Navy engineers are building at the Naval Dockyard in Lagos?

The only known public vessels currently been built by the Nigerian Navy are,

- 40 meters NNS Andoni II MPV ( Naval Dockyard Lagos)

- the last Tug-boat of 3 Tugs for the Navy ( Naval Dockyard Port-Harcourt)

So what ship is this? It is clearly not a Tugboat, and it is also not an SDB sized vessel. As can be seen from the background,
NNS Centenary and NNS Okpobana are currently docked. So, it is Lagos.
My best guess I.D. is that it may be a variant of the Suncraft Sea Eagle, NNS Burutu class MPV.

Nigeria was supposed to build about 8 units of the Burutu class locally, but the manufacturer Suncraft of Singapore, seemed not eager to transfer technology I think. So deal stalled. Also, some voices say Suncraft has foreign input from more than one country and tech transfer may be complicated.

READ THE SOUCE WHERE IT SAYS " LOW AVAILABILITY"
meaning all your fleet cannot be available at once in any operation or at any war. That means of all your 11 F7s only three are available .

Msauza kills dead!!!!
I know Msauza commits suicide.

Show us which of the aircraft he referred to as low availability.....Puma helicopters?

Does SAAF have 100% availability? Half your Gripens are grounded, only one or two Oryx is available to fly, only one Lynx available to land at sea on a ship..... grin grin

Also show me where he mentioned that due to low availability, only 3 F-7 jets are operational.

Surely he said NAF fields 11 F-7 jets in COIN war......you gonna struggle to dig yourself out of your own self-dug 6 foot grave grin grin

Yeah, it's an MPV size Ship. It seems to have been kept a secret. There is no public evidence that records Nigeria building an additional MPV size Ship for our Navy.
My best guess I.D. is that it may be a variant of the Suncraft Sea Eagle, NNS Burutu class

Yes, Msauza kills himself dead !

Read your own suicide comment again, the source you quoted says NAF currently fields 11 F-7 jets in COIN war , he did not say we just have 12 and field 3, he said we field 11 F-7 jets, that means ALL combat versions are operational you dundeee grin grin

" The NAF currently fields a very limited offensive counterinsurgency (COIN) capability in the guise of 11 Chinese-built CAC F-7 fighters "

From the horses mouth.

Speaking under the Chatham House Rule at the IQPC Fighter Conference in London, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officer said that the Scorpion would be very well suited to the west African country's current struggle against the Boko Haram extremist organisation. The NAF currently fields a very limited offensive counterinsurgency (COIN) capability in the guise of 11 Chinese-built CAC F-7 fighters
You just proved that NAF has 11 F-7 jets NOT 3 tongue tongue

The 12th F-7 is armed trainer version.

You see you know nothing about naval exercises.

When has Nigerian Navy stood side by side with any Nato navy.

What main thing when has Nigeria ever test fired a anti ship missile or anti air missile from any of its rust buckets. You can't even handle your tiny coastline currently.

You have no ship that pose a threat any of our navy ships fact.
South African navy does not test fire missiles regularly, you have only maximum 16 Exocets left for 4 Frigates that require 32 missiles grin grin

SANDF cannot even handle it's own army owned park land, Rhino poachers from Mozambique are doing jamboree there on daily basis grin grin

Go check out the history of SAN before you talk. Piracy is an Nigerian endemic problem and is now the world maritime problem in your waters because of corruption and incompetence.

We exercise with Nato and with Brasil and India using both our frigates and subs on a yearly basis. What are your country doing that is comparable.
http://itweb.co.za/mobilesite/defenceweb/home/item_id-37732/

We exercise with the best
Piracy is all over the world, even Asia is in trouble https://icc-ccs.org/news/1127-global-reporting-mechanism-required-to-curtail-piracy

We also know your South African land based pirates are busy killing Rhinos on SANDF army owned land today 2015.

Nigerian navy too exercises with NATO and China, so what?

We have 32cells for the Umkhonto including CIW's to deal with aerial threats, and we can reload. The Umkhonto is own of the most modern area defense systems today and can deal with any threat NA pose fact.

What drones will you use. NN nor any arm in the NA has naval UAV capable drones with missile payload fact.

Stop dreaming.
All your 32 cell Umkhonto are short ranged at 15 km and low altitude at 8km ceiling, it's is a POINT DEFENCE not area defence missile, it's range is too short for area defence.

Your CIWS is worse with about 4 km altitude.

NAF has guided missile armed drones with 10 km range missiles and if it can climb to just above 8km altitude, it will blast the Valour frigate !
.

DictatorZAR:
So non of your imaginary ships are capable of fighting outside your 1000nmi wow wonderful.

We have a blue water capable navy and we can take out your navy with one sub. You don't have any operational anti ship missiles nor do you have an naval missile batteries anywhere your coast.

Yes we can deploy them outside our borders if the need arise we've done it before.
Same way South Africa cannot fight outside your home waters, we will sink your warships with air power, and sink your submarine when it snorkels after 48 hours underwater, you won't be able to take out our navy safe in the harbour, but we can sink your sub at sea with air power.

You cannot invade our sea, same way we cannot invade your sea.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 8:34pm On Sep 15, 2015
DictatorZAR:
So as a so called analyst you don't know about Umkhonto area defense capability of the Valour Class Anti Air Frigates
Umkhonto is a short range missile and technically NOT an area defense missile. The only area defence missile in Sub Saharan Africa is on NNS Aradu with 75 km range Aspide BVR missile. South Africa has no BVR missile anywhere.

Your umkhonto is an anti-aircraft missile and I am asking you how it will shoot down a missile like NAF PL-9C, you failed to answer.

DictatorZAR:
So your shaldags can suddenly by a miracle operate under a high intensity EW environment 1000km outside your borders.

You just proved you have a brown water navy not capable of launching a offensive strategy outside your small 800km coast
The primary duty of Nigerian armed forces is to defend Nigerian land and waters.

South Africa too cannot launch offensive outside your 3,200 km coast. You come near Nigeria, your navy dies at sea.

You also claimed you will deploy Gripen and Hawks 5,000 km outside your borders, you don't have such range.

ATR 42 will face untimely death should it run after or even have anything to do with.
ATR-42 is not a jet fighter.

Your Lynx too will face untimely death in the hands of our navy anti-aircraft cannon fire

So a ATR has now transformed into a naval gun
Who said so ?

Nigeria has hundreds of sea borne naval guns, many are even radar guided !

DictatorZAR:
Does your fast attack boats have CIWS or any anti air capabilities a big NO.
All Nigerian fast attack boats have 20 mm to 30 mm cannon with anti-aircraft capabilities, it's easy to shoot down a slow speed Lynx.

Our Shaldag for example has two units of double barrel cannon, one forward, one rear, no helicopter will survive that firepower.

If the lynx stay within a Valour SAM umbrella your 3 obsolete F-7's will be useless and can easily be shot down.
So what has your Lynx achieved by hiding inside your 15 km SAM umbrella ?

Anyway, F-7 has 22 km range missiles, so with your Lynx only 15 km away, NAF will still shoot them down into the sea !

VHF radio ? Even 1970s ancient helicopters have VHS radio grin

Datalink ? Our AW 109 too has datalink, it's standard on most modern military helicopters

NAF has weaponized Agusta AW 109 helicopters.

Garbage !!!

Your first source is a mere forum, not the real SAAF website, it's a private forum you dundeeee brain grin grin

The second source is a the general source for a fully equipped Super Lynx, that is why it includes missiles and torpedoes which SAAF Lynx does NOT have. Show me your own SAAF Lynx hardware, show me you have ESM, EW, etc that you copy pasted from the general specs of well armed Super Lynx.

Yours is a stripped down basic patrol/rescue version you thief !

1. Not a maritime platform

2. Do they have:

- Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System
- Telephonics Ocean-Eye radar
- Sysdel Sea Raven Electronic Support Measures (ESM) suite (which is used for passive target detection and identification)
- Denel Optronics Argos 410-M Electro Optic Sight System (with a forward-looking infra-red (FLIR) sensor and a day camera passive target identification and recording.)
- Sysdel electronic warfare suite
- a Saab Grintek Avitronics EW countermeasures system
- infrared exhaust suppression system
- electro-optical sighting system (EOSS)
- Tellumat an Identification Friend or Foe system.

Answer: NO

Thats why yours costs $10 million and ours $40 million

Show us proof that SAAF Lynx has all those things you listed above apart from radar and FLIR.

1. No, your AW is not weaponised

2. The list of equipment I provided shows it is not a basic resuce lynx. Stop wasting my time.

3. I have shown you proof, read the citations. Stop wasting my time.

4. Picture clearly shows our lynx armed with FN's .50 Cal M3M. For more pictures consult Henry120's thread

Stop wasting my time with childish arguments
NAF has weaponized our AW 109.

Oh I see, your Lynx carries only a small machine gun.....Nigerian Gazelle, Eurocopter, AW 109, Super Puma, all carry Machine Guns too !

Our AW 109 costs $10 million, your $40 million Lynx carries the same one machine gun like our Gazelle that costs $ 2 million grin grin

You South Africans must be foolish spenders of money grin grin
