At least I deserved a welcome package smiley but tbh I thought I previously read where tax are immediately once drops in that you need to hit a target of income before it becomes taxable.

If the rental provider or landlord provide a cc facility (link, scan, QR ...), why not if not. Simple response, it's a YES.
However, if not, and the transaction will be treated as cash, TREAD CAUTIOUSLY!

Not a good idea if you're withdrawing cash from your credit card to pay your rent, as any cash withdrawals are noted on your file (even if settled quickly) and will impact your credit score and history

Can one use Cc to pay house rent and payback almost immediately just to boost credit score and usage?

Your personal allowance on your taxable income can be shared between the two jobs. It happens a times (50:50, 60:40, 70:30 etc or anyhow HMRC deem fit)

Both are around the same range then what do you think I should set as the criteria in this scenario to choose main job? thank you
phyl123:

You can only claim your personal allowance in one of the jobs, the other one will have the BR code which will mean more tax.

Your best bet is to choose the high income job as your main job..

Yes you can, Not all IT jobs requires knowledge of maths. I will advise you start courses on IT Support/Desktop Support. Go and enroll for this two courses on coursera “Google IT Support” and “IBM Technical Support” then after the two of them take CompTIA ITF or A+ … with the above well learnt, you are ready for an Entry level job but even though the probability of getting sponsorship with this skills is low but you can easily get a job if you travel. Create a LinkedIn profile once you have those certifications I stated above and be hopeful of God’s grace.

NB: you can also get a Cloud Certification too Either Microsoft Azure, Amazon Cloud or IBM cloud.

IT money is one of the sweetest money out there, More of brain work, one sweet thing about it is you don’t retire, the older the wine, the better it is. I.e more experience, more money . A friend we both graduated has never worked for almost 10yrs now, he devoted a year to data analysis and perfected understanding many data analytic applications since then he has has been chopping money from fiverr and now even remotely works for a company off the coast. Oil Dey your head my brother grin
Dailyparrot:
I signed up for the ALX Software Development program few months back and I am willing to see to the conclusion of the program.

It is someone that has not eaten IT money that will feel there is any time too much to devote to learning IT programs.

When Fiverr was booming for me, there were times I earned over 800k per month with less stress.

The picture I have on Bolt is the one I took when I was still earning very well on Fiverr. I was looking robust with fat cheek and all. Most riders will see me and say that the picture they are seeing is different from the person they are looking at, I will just shove that away but deep down, I'm hurting.

It seems to me like moving from Grace to grass. My friend just sold about $900 from his Fiverr earnings at the price of 710/$. Do the maths and tell me how long I would need to drive on Bolt to earn that.

I went for Bolt inspection and I was told to repaint my bumpers and remove my car seat because it's torn.

I repainted for 12k, bought the car seat for 32k (leather) and changed my AC filter plus gas for 7k. That's 51k spent in less than two days. That's not inclusive of the 20k I paid to VIO and other miscellaneous expenses on the car.

So, even if I net 300k on Bolt, I am spending 100k plus on the car even though my car is not a problematic one.

A software engineer will earn in a month, what you earn in a year. It is a program that is worth it if you can find time to drive for just four hours in a day just to pay bills.

I can connect with anyone who's interested in pursuing this course so we do it as a team.

You really need to check ALX websites and see the amount of graduates they get after each batch even though as you stated a lot quit on the way but about 30% do make it
deedee44:

Even people with zero responsibilities will still fail to catch up with the time requirement. It's like saying you will start lecture by 8am/9am and end by 6pm/7pm everyday for 365 days weekends inclusive. It's not realistic

Then how are those doing it doing it? It is trust me, the 10hrs doesn’t have to be at a stretch and also it’s not live classes, it has to do with watching videos and reading materials for the course then you take up weekly task, it’s a bit flexible. A skills such as software engineer will stand the end of time and I can assure anyone who learnt it well of soft life after that one year. Software engineers are among shortage lists of occupation in third one country. Getting this course for free is already a bonus as many pay hundred to a thousand of dollars for such certification.
deedee44:

There's no how you can compare time spent working on bolt to time spent learning a skill, earning on bolt may be the only way to survive but learning a skill is and will always be a choice/an option. It is normally not feasible to learn for 10 hrs a day for a year, let us be honest with ourselves, It is almost impossible

Let me drop a motivational speech even though am yet to arrive at where I want.

2021was really a crazy year for me as rabbit farmer for over 2years as the business that was raking me hundred of thousands of naira was affected seriously by a VIRUS (RHD Virus) so I lost almost 80% of my rabbits that were over 150 so after all ways to get a vaccine prove abortive, I decided to quit and do bolt as two of my neighbors in the same compound were doing bolt as at that time and they encouraged me, I was having a Toyota Sienna which was also used to distribute rabbit feeds as I was a sole distributor for Bella rabbit farms in Lagos, I didn’t have much to buy a car for bolt so I started by registering my sienna for InDriver, I did that for about 2months and was only moving in between the mainland especially around areas I know traffic situation, at the end I concluded that ehailing was a profitable business, I sold my sienna , sold two of my galvanized cage and got an Hyundai elantra (toks) a dealer friend at 1.7 in which I paid 1.2 and promised to balance the 500k in two months. Then July 2021 I started ehailing (bolt) officially and I was welcomed with surge, I made almost almost 700k as gross in my first month, mind you bolt percentage was still just 15%. So I was happy and vowed to make a large undisclosed sum by the new year to invest into a business..,

Na so the business start, I worked like a jackal even though I would sleep at home as I had a wife and a daughter even during those 6months , I was hardly there for them as I would leave he early and come back late (not later than 12midnight) except for December period where I would work till early morning, I was even lucky to be among those who pick 3.5 surge early morning of January 1st and worked till morning.

To cut long story short, I was thinking of what to invest in by January as I was having some millions in my account so i used some for forex and crypto, lost some, won some around April a friend who had travelled to Uk holla and told me he was getting it right as the loan he took for the travelling with his two kids and wife has been paid and he is hoping to pay his wife school fee balance. That moment I considered traveling and started admission for my wife we got that in May the other processing started, at that time Ramadan fasting came so I wasn’t driving and even try to get some one to drive my car.

During the last 10 days I spent in solitude in the mosque as the Muslim religion permits, I was able to make up my mind and said I was going into IT as I didn’t want to do a career job in the Uk so I started with free courses on coursera via Financial Aid, I was living on the money I had saved and also processing the travelling, bought enough data, fuel and was learning like crazy, by the time we would leave for Uk 4months later, I already had cert with Google, IBM, Microsoft, Amazon which were purposely targeted as I had gone through their job websites and learnt about certification that really matters.

Now in the Uk with a plenty offers for jobs as an IT support but am still cherry picking looking for an offer with a sponsorship Visa and still learning like mad. Bagging certification and all.

Like I said above I haven’t arrived where I want but I just want to encourage us that Planning, Sacrifice and Discipline are great tools to success. And nothing is not doable if you know where you are going and plan accordingly..

Apologies for the long write Up

God bless!!!.
