@poster I prefer Tall, Handsome and Rich. I don't care much for skin color, he could come in pink for all i care. It is true that women like personality and character 1st but Looks always comes in at a close 2nd. Asking a woman if they care about looks is like asking a man if he cares about butt and boobies, its a certainty that they do. We are genetically predisposed to like strong men and often times we associate tall with strong, rich as security, and handsome as future beautiful kids. wink

There is no need to be suspicious, i've just refused to be stuck in medieval times. So please excuse me for offering an insightful perspective to a conversation. Correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i know most Nigerians would like American ideas emulated in Nigeria.

The black community in America are dealing with DOWN LOW men that are not being upfront with their homosexuality and are more likely to accept homosexuals publicly THAN the latter. Homosexual women are more freely expressive about their sexual orientation than the men which why black women in America are experiencing the wake up call of deceit and trifliness.

We talk about homosexuality, bisexuality, expressive sexuality, and MOST black parents have open communication with their children about sexuality. Schools are required by the government to teach children about sex education and some churches are now accepting the sex talk in the sanctuaries.

In America, a gay man have more rights than a gay man in other countries. There is no reason why a gay man who is sleeping with other men unprotected exposing his wife. It is not fair to her neither to her family because they would be the one burying her. Down low men in America are status hogs. It is about the status quo for them and everybody else is expendable including the wives and children.

If you really live in America you will know that black Americans are about as homophobic as it comes, the black churches are against it( rightly so considering that it is considered a sin in the bible), families can disown their child if they found out that they were gay, black women and men frown upon it. If a black person comes out of the closet they are brave and willing to deal with the problems that come with come with it. There are more gay white men than black men but they have the least # of H.I.V infections because they have more avenues to express their feelings and are supported by family and friends. Black men and some Hispanic men are not so lucky because they have all odds stacked against them.
I feel that in the continent of Africa, homosexuality is not the main reason that the H.I.V cases are so high, i feel that infidelity is the main reason (i.e. men sleeping with prostitutes and multiple women at one time and going back home and sleeping with their wives). I used men as an example because men are most likely to give women the virus because women are naturally vulnerable because of how our bodies are built. I do however believe that bisexuality is playing a bigger role slowly and surly because of the westernization and freedom.

This does sound fishy but are you sure that he is not marrying her as fraud. I know a lot of Nigerians (i.e. your boyfriend. that marry so that the person(i.e. your boyfriend's friend cousin) can get a green card. They often divorce later and often get paid to do this by friends and family members of the person they married nigerians (i.e. his friend). Refort him to immigration if you really want to hit him where it hurts because likely he is doing this for that dinero($). The reason i came to this conclusion is that your boyfriend broke up with you in a matter of weeks and got married in a matter of weeks too, fishy. And from what you said that girl dumped her boyfriend too to in a short period in order to marry your boyfriend. I do not know why Nigerians here are still doing this considering that it is illegal and they can go to jail for a long time.

You are right cheating is cheating, it does not matter if its with a man or woman. I believe that everyone has a bisexual nature but it is suppressed by society norms. A lot of people are more heterosexual leaning, while others are homosexual leaning. Nonetheless, she needs to treat this as if her husband is just a cheater and find out more details about how he really feels about women vs men. If he tells her he does not like women, there is nothing she can do but i feel that most likely he is in love with her but cheated when an opportunity came by.

Your husband is not "gay" he is "bisexual" there is a difference. Trust me there are many men like that, now if he was gay and suppressing feelings for men that is another issue, but it seem like he loves you. I'm sure that he was affectionate with you until this relationship he had been having came up. Talk with him not the man he is cheating with because you are married to your husband not him. Try and confront the cheating issue first and then the homosexual issue next. Speak with him not in a critical way but an understanding way. Ask him if he does not love you anymore because he fell out of love or because you are a woman, you want to know this because it will determine if he is actually indeed gay or bisexual. If he wants to salvage your marriage try counseling and work on things and make sure that he does not cheat on you again with a man or woman. If he is not interested in you because you are a woman, you have to leave him to preserve your dignity and to show your child that you are a worthy role model. Good luck, i know this is a though situation but homosexuality and bisexuality has been around since the Old Testament. Most importantly before you decide to do anything, get on your knees and talk to your GOD because you will get a lot of clarity that way and you will get the strength to do whatever it is you decide to do.

Nursing in the United States is much different than nursing or even medical schools in Nigeria. Some nurses in America probably have more education than Medical Doctors in Nigeria. And its not a myth for nurses here to earn well over $100,000 because advancement is guaranteed with the right experience and education. Now this Regina Askia or Imaobong Usoro what ever she wants to be called today might have a Ph.D in Nursing or a M.S.N. It does not matter. And the the engineers in the room, i know Engineers that are struggling to pay their morgage/rent because they are not earning enough. To advance in those fields is like advancing in a field with geniuses, if you are not Einstein smart you are not getting too far.

I hope the people posting this also discuss the prevalent HIV rate in Nigeria. They should have sex education from kindergarten until old age because of the crazy things young children are facing in our country. Little girls, most of them nowadays are raped by family members and God knows what they give them. They should talk about sexual abuse and sex more openly and have children understand what is acceptable and not acceptable among their peers and others around them. I do not believe God invented sexual organs to be immoral just saying.

You know sometimes the grass is not always greener on the other side. If you explain your feelings to your current boyfriend, and if he does not take you seriously give him an ultimatum either the "side chick"or you. When you do that he will have to choose and if he doesn't or if he chooses her then move on. Ignore him completely and move on, most likely he will be coming back crying to you but stay strong. Guys out here try to do the same thing. Its hard finding a good woman and when they realize their mistake they will always try coming back in your life.

OMGoodness please tell me this is not true. Tell your "friend" to go back to her family and talk with her mom and no one else about the situation. I'm sure she would give the best advice. So sorry about your friend but unfortunately this is all too real in many parts of Africa not only nigeria. The husband usually gets the virus away from home and them comes home to infect his wife. I'm not sure about the testing centers out there but i hope the people reading this take it to heart and test themselves monthly if they are sexually active and demand that your partner gets tested as well before doing anything with him/her. Just because they dont have it the first time does not mean that they are free from it. It can take years for the virus to show and every six months is when people are supposed to get checked. But upon changing relationships always get tested. phew,

if this girl happens to be you, leave the man and expose him. The only advice i could give you is to turn to God because only He could get you past a situation like this and the world is not over live for your child.

Everybody cheats but a certain gender created the game of cheating and they have found a way to justify it. Men cheat and blame the woman for it and other women and men blame the woman too. It seems like now when a woman wants to leave her husband for cheating her friends and family tell her to stay and work things outs. When the game is reversed that woman is a slut for life and could be shunned by her family and friends for her actions. Most things are found out by looking at statistics. Eg Men commit more violent crimes than women. This is common knowledge.

Parents dont get this, psychology teaches this alot . Parents need to know that rewarding kids with money or other rewards is helpful for the child/ren upbringing. Imagine being told to work for free, when you know that there will be incentives for the work you do you will be more motivated to work and do it better same goes for kids.

Why dont they just have HIV walk or run for cure or treatment. I dont see people having miss breast-cancer or miss- herpes. Actually marriage is a wonderful thing, the predicament feeling the pressure to settle down and not nessesarily being able to talk to the person i love about it because he might be heartbroken.

Why do you think he will leave men when i tell him im not ready for marriage when he claims he loves me. If that is the case he can just go and pick any girl to marry.
