Hello House...How's everyone....please who has flown Egypt Air recently to the UK. I need to get to the UK for a few days and it's looks like the cheapest but the layover is not here at all.
Do they provide accommodation?
How are their planes as well?

Hello House,

Please help clarify. I was telling someone that despite the fact that you have been fully vaccinated in Nigeria with AstraZeneca (UK Vaccine) you are still not exempt from quarantine. You are still expected to follow the rules so far you were not vaccinated in the UK, Europe (Some countries) and the US. that is 10 days quarantine with day 2 and 8 mandatory tests and not just day 2.

Please anyone who has tried going with Nigeria Vaccination card please let us know o.

thanks

Hello House,
Please do fully vaccinated passengers from Nigeria still need to quarantine for 10 days and book day 2 & 8 covid test?
Travelling with my 12yr old son will he need to provide a negative covid test before departure as well?

Will appreciate your inputs.

Yes.. for now only UK vaccinated and during the week European and US no African country on the quarantine exempt list yet

all the info you need is here

Hi everyone, please if someone is travelling to UK from Lagos, do you need to pay again at Ncdc website after obtaining your pcr covid test or you just enter your negative covid test with them? Thanks

You can either book via the NITP site which Lagos Biobank will now issue you a provider or you book via any of the recognised labs in Lagos. The former takes time for them to assign you a lab. And the later is usually faster.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the good work on this thread.
Please can you recommend a laboratory for Covid test.
I understand one must choose one acceptable by the airline.
The airline of choice is Virgin Atlantic.

If flying virgin use their Covid testing partners as I paid for my day 2,5 and 8 test just 189 and got a 7pounds discount per person if you are flying virgin.. day 2 and 8 test is 129 and fit to fly back to Nigeria home kit just 55gbp

Urgent !!!
Please I intend to collect my travel document (visa outcome) tomorrow. The email requests photographic ID and a copy of it. However, the only ID I have now is the international passport which they're with. I have the checklist stapled to a copy of my international passport (the one we get after submitting the biometrics), will this be enough to get the documents? How do I go about this?

Thanks Giselle.

Please any preferred day 2 and day 8 provider with the best cost? I would need to book for self, wife and 5 year old child. The ranges I have seen so far are from 96 GBP and upwards.

Which provider is giving you 96pounds...ensure you read reviews before you pay as some of them delay results etc. Which airline are you using? Some of the airlines virgin and BA offer discounted tests

BA- https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/incident/coronavirus/covid19-tests

Virgin- https://help.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/covid-19-testing.html

Ethiopia and Egypt are on the RED List you can only fly Ethipian if you are are a UK permanent resident or a Citizen and will still follow the RED list rules and fly Egypt if you have additional £2000 for hotel quarantine and testing. That 2k will buy you BA or VS jeje. You can do Royal Air Maroc which I don't recommend due to my last and only experience or go via transit visa route and go via KLM. The choice is yours

Hey guys,

good day.
I got my study Visa approval few days ago...yayyy

Right now, I'm trying to book a flight for next month end to Cardiff

I plan to book Ethiopian airways (well cos it's affordable and journey length is not bad)

I heard someone mention that I can only fly B.A or virgin right now due to covid restrictions, is that true?

Please I would like for everyone to help on this asap and if you have someone I can talk to regarding this, please refer me also.

Thanks for your response. What do you mean by 'carry your entertainment '? Download movies, carry a book along to read etc Did you mean missing luggage is at passenger's risk? for RAM , it is sadly based on reviews. They might loose your luggage and they won't do anything about it.The guy wants to reduce the cost because BA is very expensive for him he can go ahead. Nothing happened to my own luggage , but I recall the flight I came back with some passengers from America were complaining their luggage hadn't arrived ( Didn't wait to verify as I left the airport as soon as I got my bags.

Good afternoon all. Please who has recently flown Air Maroc to UK recently or you know anyone that flew them. Please share your experience as am asking for a friend. Thanks.

Advise....Don't go there if you don't want to worry about luggage getting missing etc. Read their reviews online and it will give you an idea.

But if on a budget like I was in 2019/2020. I risked it. Carry your entertainment and don't expect too much.

This a very bad review. I am just considering them for now and still searching for cheap BritishAirways.
Thanks

Try Virgin...what I did was to use the calender feature to get the best deal as they are running promo currently and I just purchased for my family. Once you get that day open wakanow, travelstart, travelbeta. Put that same exact date and buy from the cheapest provider. Hope it helps

They currently have flight schedules from Lagos to Heathrow UK, but I need someone who have used their services recently as a guide.

Hi, I used them in Dec 2019 to return Jan 2020 and after that I vowed never to go near them again. Yes it's cheap and you get what you pay for. However the planes are small, old, dirty especially the one going and coming to Nigeria from casablanca. Ensure you carry your tablet or phone for entertainment as there is none on board only if you're lucky and they Change your plane like they did going from Casablanca to London due to high traffic as it was December.

I was worried about their baggage handling as I saw so many horror stories online and that they had terrible customer service which is true.

So my advise if traveling with your family avoid...if going alone to you can try it but carry minimal luggage and put important stuff in your hand luggage. And of course. If your hand luggage is big they will collect it at the gate to check in as the plane is small. So prepare yourself

Hi everyone. Please who is traveling to the UK soon or recently travelled. I would like to have pointers as to th airline you used and current costs.
I booked Virgin as they were doing promo....don't know if the promo is still on doe. It was like 920 dollars per passenger and I paid like 1m for family of 3. And the reason I picked virgin to KLM my favorite is I don't need transit visa wahala and I cannot deal. All the other airlines that offer non transit visa.... have been tagged Amber by the UK govt and the uk can decide to move them to Red eg turkey and Egypt turned red within the last few weeks. To be on the safe side just do direct. I heard RAM has resumed services. I flew them once 2019 and I said that will be my last ...no comfort at all with high BP all through the flight hoping and praying luggage gets to your destination.

shocked shocked shocked

Thanks

Chai 5 tests...my nose go don comot by the time I'm done with this holiday.

Must the day 2 and 8 tests be booked and paid for from Nigeria and evidence shown at UK Border? or can be booked and payment made at the selected labs in the UK?

Tutu82:

When travelling to the uk you need to have a negative PCR test and a filled passenger locator form.To arrange a test from Nigeria there are quite a lot of centres scattered round the country.

https://covid19.ncdc.gov.ng/privatelabs/

Also, to board a flight from uk to Nigeria you need to show a negative PCR test with a 72hour window.

Hello House,

Please I need information about the covid testings when travelling to the UK. I'm aware of negative test to board flights to UK. I'm also aware of the day 2 and 8 tests. I know I have to show a prebooked test on the site when returning back to Nigeria. I need clarification if I need to also show a negative test to board flights from UK to Nigeria and is there any test I'm missing out?

Thank you

My biometrics was submitted 7th April , whenever I escalate my case, the next day I get this and I instantly do as requested by sending a mail requesting for them to call me but the thing is they never call me. I don’t know what else to do about this. I called their customer service they said they are not incharge of such calls. Has anyone had any issues relating to this, please advice.

Good afternoon House.
Please I need recommendations on flight bookings to UK. Considering low charges with good deal.

Go to wakanow and search it gives you options...then you to the airlines website search for dates using calendarfeature to knowthe cheapest days to fly....use such dates on either wakanpw and compare. With all this FX brouhaha wakanow or travelstat you best bet.

Ensure you chose flights transiting via Amber zones o. If you transit via red zone like Kenya or Turkey you go pay for hotel quarantine o. So safest fly BA or Virgin if you can afford it

Has anyone on here used piggyvest for POF? I’ve done a search but can’t find any in the affirmative.

I plan on moving my POF from mutual funds to piggyvest as the returns on mutual funds can make one cry - feels like I’m paying them to keep my money. cry cry cry

Would an LOE showing statements from both my mutual funds and piggyvest suffice? My mutual funds statement shows the gradual increase of the money.

You can if you want to, as I saw someone who said she used it. But what I did was to transfer to my Mutual funds account all the funds in my piggy and I did an LOE and attached the piggy statements to show the source of funds

Thanks.
