Sequel to recent Customs/Stakeholders town hall meeting held in Lagos on VIN-Valuation, the Comptroller General of Customs having listened to public outcry, has approved one (1) month window to enable clearing the backlog of vehicles held up in the ports as a result of strike action.

Meanwhile, uniform application of rebates will be used for all vehicles using correct values for assessment during the exercise.

Customs National Public Relations Officer, DC Timi Bomodi, made this known in a press statement on Monday.

Bomodi, said ‘‘For the avoidance of doubt, the VIN-Valuation protocol is still in operation as reviews and updates are being captured in our systems to reflect the genuine concerns of stakeholders.

As a responsive and responsible agency, Nigeria Customs Service will sustain its consultations with stakeholders in line with Article 2 of WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement for a smoother Customs Stakeholders relationship.’’ He concluded.

After several convictions despite the inner urge not to go, I finally tried to brave it and go. I had not had sleep for two days due to the dinner preparations, I was battling sleep and body shutdowns but I still risked it. To worsen the case, the person in front with me is also a comitee member and slept off few minutes into the journey even as I was disturbing him not to sleep. Got to express, and I momentarily dozed off involuntarily!!.

The fuel consumption is with 6-7km/L

No check engine light(replaced all the sensors that were faulty or failed).

Please I need a solution to this excessive fuel consumption problem.

Yeah the car was ok..but my mechanic went to use oando oil instead of the normal Toyota ATF then the problem started..now the mechanic working on it says the 13pin is very sensitive that if I want he can convert it to 10pin for me ...now I want to know if it is advisable

You can not get a true valuation from Auction's final price as AI would not see below the hood. However there is an initial valuation of all cars b4 Auction, that's the Blue Book.Im a 100% sure this is what they will go with and its usually higher than final auction price.

@aieromon, thanks for your clarification but I would like to ask some simple questions. Knowing that many of the cars we buy and ship from abroad are fairly used, accidental and flooded that you buy on auction, what price would the VIN rely on in computing the duties, taxes and levies. Is it the price at Auction or the Current market value of the car.
let's use an example. A Toyota corolla 2013 was bought at auction for $4000, mileage is 100,000 miles. The current market value of the same car; brand new is , $15,000. What will the valuation be based on, on the brand new value or on the auction value?

My CRV 06 model transmission blinks at the speed of 80kmh , I have given it to a mechanic to change the transmission and yet I am still having this issues which irritates anytime am driving.

2. Does the notary public stamp apply to renewals?

Hello Mr. Yomi, I ordered a package from Aliexpress and on tracking it I discovered that it has the status "The delivery of this item is unsuccessful" since February 23rd. I have been trying to track it on the Nipost official website but got nothing. I also contacted the package carrier postNL and they informed me that it will be delivered by my local post office. It's been almost a week now and I am yet to get my parcel. Kindly help me locate the post office where my parcel is.
