Jomonix: I followed the GTworld app in my phone and at some point, I was asked to enter my BVN which I did. The response is that I entered the wrong BNV. This is when I became suspicious. I hope I will not have any financial incidents in my account.
This is strange. I logged into 3 devices yesterday and none of them requested for BVN.

I checked my Playstore today but I was surprised to see different versions of app.
I eventually settled for GTWorld SL(pic attached).
I tried login and it requested normal card details but I have second thought, what if this is a parody version from scammers and not the real app.
That's why I brought it here for you to help out, especially GTBank users.
Which version of GTWorld are you using? Which is real?
Moderator help on this please
The GTWorld for Nigeria has been yanked off the Playstore pending bug fixes. Do not install any other version.
feelamong: Outside the banks and one of my old stubborn rich uncle..who still buys Tbills at this rate
Investors bought Nigeria’s one-year treasury bills at a rate of 5.9% per annum down from 6.2% per annum recorded in the previous bid.
This is despite an inflation rate of 22.4% year-on-year, suggesting they are happy to accept a negative real return of about -16.5%
The data was obtained from the latest auction report for Nigeria’s treasury bills sold during the week. The one-year bill matures on July 11, 2024.
Investors also staked a whopping N654.6 billion or 375% of the N137.5 billion that was eventually allowed.
An oversubscription indicates growing demand for risk-free investments despite offering a negative real return as the inflation rate was 22.4% in May (the June inflation rate was yet to be published).
obainojazz: Our banks are just too small… Access bank Market cap is like $2bil 🤦🏽♂️
Herbert Wigwe is taking no prisoners.
DUBAI, July 14 (Reuters) - Standard Chartered (STAN.L) said on Friday it has reached an agreement to sell its subsidiaries in five sub-Saharan African countries to Nigeria's Access Bank, putting into motion a plan announced last year to divest those businesses.
Standard Chartered will sell its shareholding in its subsidiaries in Angola, Cameroon, Gambia and Sierra Leone to Access. It will also sell its consumer, private & business banking business in Tanzania to Access Bank, a subsidiary of Access Holdings (ACCESSCORP.LG).
Access Holdings have announced the completion of its acquisition of a majority stake in Finibanco Angola.
In a press release notice which was sent to the Nigeria Exchange Limited (NGX), the group said the acquisition was via its flagship subsidiary – Access Bank Plc.
Access Holdings Plc disclosed last year that its wholly owned subsidiary – Access Bank – had entered a binding agreement with Montepio Holding SGPS S.A. to acquire a 51% majority shareholding in FInibanco Angola S.A.
Finibanco Angola S.A. is a profitable, well-capitalized, full-service commercial bank with over 20 branches and around $300 million in total assets that have operated in Angola since 2008.
Rate will always be subject to demand and supply. IOCs are now permitted to sell to banks and the rate will crash as long as the I&E window remains the sole trading platform.
With the way the banks are aggressively pushing for a cut of the FX market share, I fear for the virtual card providers.
Raysleek: Like I said prices will respond to dollar. We all know what happened to the I and E window 3 weeks ago. Even now from 440naira/$ it's now almost 800. That's a 100percent increase. I pray the rates get better as we were promised. You will witness the prices go down. Remember At a time we were doing free conversions giving people opportunity to even pay within 2 years.
Staggered payment in installments, not a free service.
Uzoefune in Benin City told BusinessDay that there were two routes to acquiring the conversion kits, outright purchase or financing.
For those who opted for the financing option, when the kit cost N150,000 they made an upfront payment of N5,000 and paid the rest in instalment as they purchased CNG at the station. Rather than pay N90 per scm, they pay N115 for the duration of the credit facility. However, now that the conversion kit costs N250,000, they pay N50,000 up front and the rest in instalment.
In Benin City, the taxi drivers were spared this initial capital investment, through a joint venture arrangement between NIPCO and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). In 2012, they injected over N17 billion in the provision of CNG infrastructure in a joint venture scheme with the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC), a subsidiary of the NNPC.
The JV scheme, which resulted in the setting up Green Gas Limited, led to completion of eight CNG stations and three conversion workshops in the city of Benin, the Edo State capital.
To support the project, the JV laid over 50km steel pipeline for gas distribution to the CNG stations across the city to guarantee access to gas.
With this in place, the company converted vehicles of taxi drivers who agreed to sign without immediately paying the N200,000 conversion cost. They only paid N10,000, and the rest of the cost spread over 10 years. This payment is deducted from each refuelling.
“To install the gas is now N200,000, but when I installed it was N150,000 and I started paying little by little. In the finance package, the amount is N120 per kg while they will deduct about N25 in each kg till you are able to finish payment. For me, I am in normal because I no longer owe them, and I pay N90 per kg,” Innocent Imoisili, a commercial bus driver in Benin City, says.
FEC approves concession of Badagry Deep Sea Port, targets $53bn revenue
In its quest to bridge infrastructure gap through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the concession of the Badagry Deep Sea Port on a Build Own Operate and Transfer (BOOT) PPP model.
The approval by FEC followed the issuance of the Full Business Case Certificate (FBC) by the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) in April, 2022 to the Federal Ministry of Transportation, through the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
The $2.5 billion Port project which is under the regulatory guidance of the ICRC, is expected to generate over $53 billion within the 45-year concession period.
The PPP arrangement shows that the port concession will have a construction period of five years, after which operations will begin and revenue accruals will commence.
When completed, the ports will comprise: General cargo terminals, Container terminals, RoRo & Grain terminals, Offshore supply basis (OSB), Liquid Bulk jetties as well as Barge and Rail terminal.
The port will be equipped with the capacity to handle 3.9 million Twelve Equivalent Units (TEUs), 24 million metric tons of cargoes and 1.4 million cars annually.
The port will also have a navy berthing facility as well as utilities such as road fly-overs, rail and public roads.
The state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility will offer its customers superior uncongested hinterland connectivity and one of the deepest water in West Africa, thus creating a sustainable competitive advantage for Nigeria going forward.
Beyond increasing government revenues, the port will also facilitate foreign investment, reduce congestion within Lagos ports of Apapa and Tincan Island, improve cargo clearance and delivery process, reduce vessel waiting time and enhance competitiveness of the Nigerian economy by reducing transportation costs and freight rates.
The project is now ready to proceed to commercial close – signing of agreement between the concessionaire and the Federal Government and relevant agencies, with the ICRC witnessing the agreement signing and taking custody of the concession agreement.
After the Commercial close, the project will then proceed to financial close. END.
