Big spending Al Nassr have dug themselves an early hole to start their Saudi Pro League season after a stunning 2-0 home loss to Al Taawoun on Friday with stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Anderson Talisca, and Marcelo Brozovic all held scoreless. A goal by Cameroonian forward Leandre Tawamba in the 20th minute set the visitors on their way, and Al Taawoun's five-man backline frustrated Ronaldo and Al Nassr all night, with substitute Ahmed Bahusayn sealing the result deep in stoppage time. Al Nassr's 2-1 loss on the opening weekend to Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq was attributed to the fact that many of their star players were given a rest after winning the Arab Club Champions Cup. But they were all back on the field and still came up short against an Al Taawoun side that executed a perfect game plan of defending in numbers and counter-attacking through speedy Brazilian winger Mateus. Al Nassr struggled to find a flow in their attack, outshooting Al Taawoun 24-8, but only getting five shots on target compared to the visitors' six. Anderson Talisca missed on a couple of headers, Sadio Mane had a goal disallowed, Cristiano Ronaldo slammed a ball against the post from an offside position, and Marcelo Brozovic fired right at the 'keeper on a frustrating night for the home team. Al Nassr came up five points short in their quest for the Saudi title in 2022/23 and now could find themselves six points behind the leaders by the time Matchday 2 is complete. No one’s gonna invite the country of Mr “i influenced semi-retired and washed players to the desert league”, failure is indeed an orphan, except the likes of Estonia, Luxembourg and so on 😂😂. E no easy to be world champion, if e easy make penado score one World Cup knockout goal after 20 years of trying 🤣🤣. E no sabi pass score tap-ins, steal teammates goals, penalty, jump and shout Wasiu 🤣😂🤣 Nlfpmod frontpage my boss

The English Football Association has spoken to the Argentine Football Association about taking one of football's biggest international rivalries out of cold storage for the first time in almost 20 years. And despite Argentina reportedly charging an appearance fee of $5 million (£3.9m) to play friendly fixtures since winning the World Cup for a third time at Qatar 2022, FA chief executive Mark Bullingham said that financing the Lionel Messi's first appearance against England would not be an issue. "The money is not the challenge," Bullingham said. "We actually have relatively few friendly opportunities now if you look at the way the international calendar is structured, but it [Argentina] is a game we would like to get on at some point, for sure." England and Argentina have contested some of the most memorable fixtures in international football, including World Cup clashes in 1966, 1998 and 2002 as well as the 1986 quarterfinal when Diego Maradona's "Hand of God" goal helped Argentina to a 2-1 victory on their way to winning the competition in Mexico. But the two teams have not met since Michael Owen scored twice in a 3-2 England victory in a friendly in Geneva, Switzerland, in November 2005. Argentina have not faced England at Wembley since February 2000, while Argentina last hosted England in a home game in Buenos Aires in Jun 1977. Since last facing Argentina in 2005, England have met fellow South American powerhouse Brazil on five occasions, and Bullingham has said that while no fixture against Argentina has been finalised, discussions have taken place. "There are various conversations we have had with lots of countries about friendlies against them," Bullingham said. "They [Argentina] are one of the countries we have spoken to at some point, but there is nothing in the pipeline for them at this stage." SOURCE Nlfpmod mynd44 frontpage

We endured that, now this is payback. Make everybody relax and enjoy cos this time around not coming back, it’s forever banter and eternal pain for all penadogs on this forum.
