Hijab is NOT just religious ceremonial clothes but a basic part of the life of a Muslim girl/woman which she wears everywhere; markets, school, party, mosque etc throughout her lifetime... His argument would be correct if only he could continue wearing the traditional attire in not just court but everywhere he goes for just 1 month... I bet he can't, he is just proving a nonsense point.

Why go to the Supreme Court with the attire? He should simply go about his daily life and work with it like the Muslims do. This is beautiful and commendable. I do hope he wears it when he is attending to his clients in his office, the way Muslims do. He is simply a clown.

Nigerian man, Marvyn Iheanacho has been found guilty of murdering little Alex Malcolm in a fit of rage today, following a two week trial at Woolwich Crown Court.

According to The Sun, little Alex was fatally attacked as he screamed “sorry” for losing his trainer in Mountsfield Park in Catford, South London. The mum, Lilya Breha narrated how she desperately tried to save her boy on the night of the attack but Alex’s injuries were too severe.

Lilya revealed her final moments with her son in a statement to the court. She said : “I remember it like it was yesterday.
“Lying next to him in a hospital and praying that everything would be fine, that he will open his eyes.
“I didn’t even get to tell him I love him.

“All I got was to put my hand on his chest and feel every single one of his final heartbeats.”

Lilya Breha with her son Alex Malcolm who died of a bleed on the brain

The sad story of the boy's death started when Iheanacho, 38 had taken Alex with him to pick up DVDs and visit a friend on November 20 last year.

On the way the pair stopped at Mountsfield Park in Hither Green where a witness overheard the child saying sorry for losing his shoe before he was attacked.

Jurors were shown footage of Iheanacho carrying Alex in a “fireman’s lift” away from the park and towards a taxi rank where he asked for a cab to Lilya’s home.

When he arrived at the address, Iheanacho attacked his partner to stop her calling an ambulance, and shouted: “Keep your f***ing mouth shut.”

Iheanacho suggested putting the schoolboy in a bath before wrapping him in a towel and assaulted Ms Breha when she would not stop screaming.

Ms Breha told the court: “Whatever he did to Alex, I feel he knew exactly what he was doing.”

Ms Breha said on the day of the alleged attack, she felt "anxious" after the pair hadn't returned by 6.30pm but when she called he "sounded very calm and said that nothing was wrong".

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "Iheanacho subjected that poor little boy to a brutal assault after flying into an uncontrollable rage just because Alex lost one of his shoes.
"Afterwards Iheanacho came up with various stories to try to cover his tracks, insisted his girlfriend lie for him and attacked her when she tried to get medical help for her unconscious son.
"It is no surprise the jury easily saw through his stories and while nothing can bring Alex back, I hope Iheanacho's conviction today provides his mother and father, and "It is no surprise the jury easily saw through his stories and while nothing can bring Alex back, I hope Iheanacho's conviction today provides his mother and father, and their families with some comfort."

Missing doctor killed in father’s house in Ilorin... Security guard’s son, two others fingered

By Ahmed ‘Lateef

Contrary to the initial belief that a member of the Kwara State chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr Abdulkareem Tunde Abdulrahman, was missing, the medical officer was allegedly clubbed to death in his father’s residence in Ilorin.
The victim, it was learnt at the weekend, was killed around 1am on July 24, the exact day he was declared missing.
Prime suspect in the murder, Jamiu Mohammed, who is a son of the private security guard at the residence of the deceased’s father, Barrister Abdulrahman Alarape Adeyi at Plot 3, Professor Awe Close, Off Abdulkareem Adisa Street, GRA, Ilorin, is now at large.
He allegedly perpetrated the heinous crime in connivance with two others, said to be undergoing interrogation in the detention facility of security operatives.
The Herald On Sunday gathered that the suspect, an ex-convict alongside two other accomplices stormed the room of the deceased in the dead of the night and used harmful objects to hack him to death in his father’s residence.
The lifeless body of the medical doctor was said to have been smuggled in his Toyota Corolla car and driven out that night to an unknown destination.
A family source told our correspondent that the father of the prime suspect, who is a security guard at the deceased father’s residence, feigned ignorance at the time the murder was committed.
It was learnt that series of efforts by the police to extract information on the whereabouts of the doctor from the guard proved futile until security operatives waded in.
The Herald On Sunday was told that the guard denied severally ever knowing anything about the death of 34-year old Tunde Abdulrahman, whose wedding programme was to start on August 13 this year.
The prime suspect allegedly terminated the life of the medical doctor to avenge the death of his mother who died of cholera two years ago, even though the parent of the late doctor shouldered the expenses for the burial of the suspect’s late mother.
A source confided in our correspondent that the suspect and his siblings, who have been living in the deceased father’s residence in the last ten years, were unhappy over the demise of their mother and thus sought all avenues to take revenge.
The deceased’s two mobile phones were allegedly tracked and later found in the possession of two other suspects, who are currently helping security personnel to unravel how and why the life of Tunde Abdulrahman was terminated.
The Herald On Sunday also gathered that the prime suspect was also seen by yet to be identified persons around Challenge area in Ilorin cruising in the deceased’s car shortly after committing the crime but later vanished into thin air.
He also made away with all the belongings of the deceased in his room, it was learnt.
The father of the suspect, a Bennoise, was reported to be providing clues on how the doctor was killed and his corpse driven away to unknown destination.
A source said, “On the day Tunde (Abdulrahman) was declared missing, the father of the suspect claimed the deceased drove himself out around 5am without telling anyone where he was heading to.
“The father of the suspect did not initially cooperate with the security personnel. He denied ever knowing anything about the death of Tunde Abdulrahman. When they mounted pressure on him, he started making confessional statements.
“He has told them (security team) that it was his son, Jamiu, who connived with other accomplices to kill our son. They came in the afternoon of the preceding day of the incident under the pretense of making inquiry on unknown issues. Unknown to Tunde (the deceased), they deliberately came to assess the environment in preparation for the evil plot to be committed later that night.
“To our surprise, the prime suspect who was released from Prison in March this year for a certain criminal offence, on that fateful night, came with his accomplices and they went straight into the apartment of Tunde where they hacked him to death in his room.
“After accomplishing their heinous mission, they dragged his body into the booth of his car and drove away to an unknown destination. It was when his two mobile phones were tracked that the truth started coming out about how and who killed him”.
Abdulrahman was until his gruesome murder, a medical officer with Hospital Management Bureau, deployed to General Hospital in Omu- Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the arrest of some suspects who are now undergoing interrogation with security operatives.
The Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Kwara State branch, Dr. Kunle Olawepo, on July 31, raised the alarm that a doctor in the state, Dr AbdulKareem Tunde-AbdulRahman, was missing.
He said Tunde-AbdulRahman, who is a member of NMA, Kwara State branch, drove out in his navy blue Toyota Corolla car, from his residence in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, at 6am last Sunday and had since not been seen.
It was gathered that the missing doctor wore a shirt and trousers as of the time he left his Ilorin residence.
Olawepo, who spoke with journalists in Ilorin, said the missing doctor was working with the Kwara State Government and was posted to the General Hospital, Omu-Aran, lrepodun Local Government Area of the state.
He added that Tunde-AbdulRahman was living in Omu-Aran, where he worked, but at weekends, stayed in his father’s residence in Ilorin.
Olawepo said, “The missing doctor was seen last Sunday morning before he drove out of the house. Since then, we have not seen him. There is no lead to his whereabouts.”
He stated that members of the association had made efforts to find him.

Most people here are busy running their mouth off and vilifying the doctors. Only few people realize it is the public and the government that will suffer the dire consequences of this thoughtless andi irresponsible move for the following reasons

1. As a thoughtful reminder for the uninformed the resident doctors are the engine rooms of all the hospitals sacking them is futile and only means the paralysis of the health system in Nigeria continues.

2. In a saner climes like Israel the doctors were on strike for 5 months for similar reasons. No JOHESU vilification and impostors from the public eventually peace a brokered, agreement were reached. You can read this here
https://www.nairaland.com/1809026/israeli-doctors-strike-finally-ends

3. If I were a resident doctor and you sack me, I'll open my shop and start consulting, and you guys are going to pay me good money. Of course you have the option of patronizing alternative medical practitioner, YEmKEM, chemists and your JOHESU consultants. The truth is that while on strike they (the doctors) are still been consulted by JOHESU members and their families who are sick on a private arrangement. Never mind all these acrimonious comments and vituperations.
Some of these comments simply show Nigerians deserve their leaders. Leaders who think that decapitating a whole head is the solution to an headache. Am out of here.

Nigerians wake up Enough is Enough! One OMAR BANGURA from Sierra Leone has this to tell Nigerians; "I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now. Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all Nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation. The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See central Africa,Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying because I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, ibo, yoruba or hausa stand as one and save your nation together because you have only one Nigerian that has the potential to lead Africa. PLEASE HELP SAVE NIGERIA AND SHARE THIS Long live Nigeria!God bless Nigeria.
Politics / Nobel Winning Writer Nadine Gordimer Dies by ajetii(m): 8:25am On Jul 15, 2014
JOHANNESBURG,

South African Nobel Prize-winning writer and anti-apartheid activist Nadine Gordimer, who became an icon through her unique insights into the country's
social agonies, has died at the age of 90.
Through 15 novels, several volumes of short stories, non-fiction and other works published in 40 languages around the world, Gordimer eviscerated white-minority
rule under the apartheid system and its aftershocks once democracy had been achieved in 1994.
The writer, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1991, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Johannesburg on Sunday, her family said.
Gordimer's reputation rests on a series of novels including "A Guest of Honour", "The Conservationist", "Burger's Daughter", "July's People" and "A Sport of Nature ",
which the Nobel committee called "magnificent epic writing".
News of her death prompted an outpouring of tributes, notably from the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which handles the legacy of South Africa's peace icon and first democratic president.
The foundation described Gordimer as "a great writer, patriot and voice for equality and democracy".
Mandela had a long friendship with Gordimer, beginning in his years as a young activist and continuing after his release from prison in 1990, the foundation said.
